Weifang was founded in 300 CE when the Wei dynasty unified 4 kingdoms into an empire. For centuries, different dynasties took power and the nation prospered or was divided. This republic was unstable at first, but with reform and time, Weifang became the East Asian prospering nation that it is today.

Weifang is a semi-presidential republic, with the President as head of state and the Premier (President of the Executive Yuan) as the head of government. The legislative branch of the government is the 113-seat Legislative Yuan, which is unicameral. The Judicial Yuan is the highest court. The Examination Yuan is in charge of validating the qualification of civil servants, and the Control Yuan monitors the other branches of government. The current President is Xu Zongren and the Prime Minister is Chen Lian.
