Euthanasia is now legal!
Yesterday, the gonernment announced that euthanasia would become legal within a period of the next six weeks. This has caused some protest within the nations religious communities, as they see this descision as quote unquote "immoral". The governments official position to this new law is as follows: "We didn't directly descide to legalizde euthanasia, but the law legalizing it is part of the "research and cure"-policy which states that the patient is allive the medical staff will try to cure said patient, however if they demmand euthanasia due to litteraly lying on the death bed and to end their suffering it is to be administered". Head of State Resigns, Palingenesists take over

Yesterday at 8:24 am (local hour), the head of state of the Confederated States of Dansawae, Laurent Rogzil, resigned. It was no secret that the ex-president's actions had been the cause of many scandals, including his participation in the construction of Clandestine Casinos and the Carrousel Scandal. The national assembly had proposed a referendum to the people of Dansawae, in order to bring down Rogzil, but the president anounced it would not be necessary and officially resigned an hour later, in the presence of the press. Five hours after his resign, prime minister Mauk Warden of the NPP(National Palingenesist Party) was named by the National Assembly as the new president, thanks to the 35th article of Dansawae's Constitution, until the end of the presindential term, in 2018; the assembly also named Ouan Canal, of the Conservative party, as the new prime minister. Only time will say whether history will glorify Warden, or vilify him.

Hello Svalbard! It's Erin Frenz on Svalbard 9 coming to you from McDems launch pad!
Here the first of eight rockets are being launched into orbit. The satellites on board carry a kinetic bombardment strike payload that can target anywhere on the planet. These "Rods from God" are relatively inexpensive and are just one more thing the government does to protect you lets watch the launch! 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Liftoff! The rocket is blasting off into the atmosphere this is truly a sight to see. If you can come down and see the next couple of launches, as they will happen every two hours. Good day folks, I will be back for the next juicy tidbit.

We have just received news that a terrorist attack has killed Eric Holhen and many others. We have learned that the PMC Black Eye has claimed responsibility for the attack. Many more are dead and many international people too. We look towards or government for support as the government has dispatched two destroyers. We will tell you more when we find out.

Protests all across the republic broke out today, in reaction to a lowering of alcohol tax across the nation. The protests are being staged mostly by prohibitionist groups, but some communist parties have also gotten into the fray

"We are tired of alcohol plaguing the minds of the people under the Cristo"! Says Prohibition spokesman Cameron heckles. " This new tax reduction will only make it easier for people to buy this poison. It is in both my and the prohibition platforms belief that instead of making it easier to purchase alcohol, we should completely ban it from our devout nation"!

"I don't see way they assume such drastic action must be taken"? Says Laura McDonald, Spokeswoman for the Free drink platform. "True, alcohol can be dangerous, but so long as one has will power, it should not be a problem. Even Jesus drank wine! If we are to truly reduce this problem, then we should encourage will power, not completely ban the stuff".

Attempted Terrorist Bombing in Makhota!

In recent times, the problem of terrorism has become more and more prevalent. Despite the innumerable countermeasures many nations take to prevent this menace to society, terrorists almost always seem to find a way to accomplish their devious ends.

However, Kemenangan has proven itself a match for this threat when a group of terrorists was sighted carrying numerous plastic explosives and holding military grade weaponry. Kemenangar police were rushed to the scene, quickly capturing three of the terrorists. Meanwhile, the military took rapid response action and was able to detain or eliminate all terrorist threats before they could cause their intended destruction. A few minor injuries, two major wounds and one death was the price for this.

The man who died, Baju Merah, was a private in the Kemenangar Royal Democratic Army. He fought valiantly before one terrorists brutally charged at him, managing to stab him in the heart and almost behead him before being downed by Kemenangar fire. Several terrorists were also killed in firefight that occurred. The reminder have been sent to a classified location for advanced questioning.

First-Row Legislative Elections

It has been six years since the First Row Representatives have been elected and finally those seven seats are opening up again. Following the landslide victory of the Green party in the Third Row elections two years ago many predict this will be a far more intense election cycle as everyone steps up. Currently the Senates 21 seats are divided up with a clear favor to the reds, with the Red-Business party holding 9, the Green-Environment party holding 6, the Blue-Social part holding 4, and the Grey-Nationalist party holding the remaining 2. Ad campaigns are already being broadcasted and posted across the districts as each party attempts to grab votes to hold or gain new seats. Currently the public opinion polls from districts 1 through 7 place the Red party in clear lead with 53% supporting them, the rest is divided up with 25% Green, 17% Blue, and 5% Grey.

This Election is of particular importance for the Senator of District 5, Mark Caesy as he is currently the Speaker of the House. Fortunately for this Red the polls show that 72% of his Districts mates have confidence in him and the opposition from his home district namely the blue and green party are too divided to challenge him. For the other seats it is Still up in the air with District 1, which includes our capital and largest vote, being split 33% red, 29% Blue and 27% Green. The Incumbent Alan Vals of District One is unlikely to hold his seat in light of his brothers actions as president, maintaining barely 8% of his District mates confidence.

End of presidency in Dansawae, birth of the Supreme Council

"After the voting of the 49th amendment by the National Assembly, and with the support of over 56% of Dansawae's citizens, the president has ceased to exist. Instead, a Supreme Council will hold the executive power of Dansawae. The Council will be composed of four people chosen by the citizens, and the prime minister. Each of the four other members of the Council will be representative of Dansawae's people: three of them will represent the interests of the three social classes (high, middle and low) one for each; the fourth one will represent the interests of Minorities, such as Molkivans or homosexuals. In addition to that, two of them must be women and two of them men, for gender equality purposes. Each party is to propose two candidates for each position, male and female. Next elections will be carried the 4th of August. In the meantime the Minister of Agriculture will take on the charges of regent, as voted by the National Assembly. Protests begin in Anderta

Protests in Anderta have begun overnight with peaceful protesters taking the Main Square and camping out there. This comes after the Roskya Daily conducted an unprecedented press conference with Mela Pyitrov where she gave shocking details over the sinking of the Kayut.

The Kayut was a nuclear submarine that exploded in 2007 off Alwaynian waters, a now defunct nation which Rontbar had extreme tensions with until its dissolution. The government has maintained that the incident was an accident although the truth was never released until today, a source of bitterness for the families of the 132 crew members.

The government has officially confirmed that the Kayut was destroyed after detection by Alwaynian radar but is still not releasing any more details about other controversies such as the assassination of Rontbari national, Elte Yenvik who left Rontbar illegally to escape charges of subversive activities and spying, having revealed the identities of two undercover agents by leaking confidential texts.

Other protesters have surrounded nearby streets, governmental buildings and national monuments, vandalising them with graffiti and banners. The government has not called for an end to the protests, apologising about the deceptions and the anguish the families have had to go through. Protesters are calling for political reforms for openness.

It's likely that this wish will be granted, with Mela Pyitrov's 6 year term as Prime Minister already beginning with an almost unheard of release of information. An official broadcast, of which the contents are unknown, is to be broadcast tomorrow at 6pm local time on RDO

Outrage and grief across the nation occurred today as the Cristoan representative was assassinated two days ago at the Regional conference and 26 Cristoan sailors were killed on his ship. The attack is suspected to have been initiated by Ranjir.

The council has held an emergency meeting following the event. A 75% majority was found in supporting a declaration of war against Ranjir.

Reserve troops have been called upon from all corners of the Republic, and all armed citizens are called into report for militia service. All elite police forces are sent to the border. Defenses are being actively built along the border.

The council has asked for wind to come down in aid for the 'People under the Cristo".

Christoan Diplomat Assassinated, Linaviar Heads to War

News of the attacks on the Christoan and Svalbardian diplomatic missions has been spreading since the return of ambassador Kinoosak Rodgers from the International District. Public outrage has reached a historical high over the last few days, and it appears as though the outcry has finally resulted in government action.

Recently declassified documents have revealed that The Oppressed Peoples of Rajinnar was behind the attack on Christo's representative. This revelation was soon met with a declaration of war being proposed in the National Assembly, and it was quickly passed by overwhelming super-majorities in the National Assembly and the Civil Lodge. Linavian Armed Forces personnel are currently being recalled, and are preparing for transportation to Cristo. LBS will be closely following the situation as it progresses.

Following a deadly attack on a Cristo vessel and its crew by Rajinnar, the Vancouvian Congress has unanimously declared a state of war. Reaffirming its commitment to the Western Isles National Defense, Vancouvia has pledged its forces to the defense of Cristo.

The Vancouvian fleet, which was almost entirely involved in the war games, has shifted its attention to the south-east towards Cristo and Rajinnar. Several Vancouvian Special Forces squads have already lifted off from Yorkford and are headed for the Vancouvian carriers to reinforce a possible invasion force.

General Storm has already contacted Linvair, Dibeg, and Cristo about the possibility of a joint retaliatory strike. Vancouvian citizens hold their breath; this is the first time in years that a Vancouvian force will enter hostile territory.

WIND Alliance duties called upon! Dibeg goes to WAR!

Following an attack upon an alliance member's naval vessel during the recent regional conference at the International District, Dibeg's commitment to its primary military alliance has been called into effect. Just a few days ago, rajinnar committed an atrocious attack upon a navy vessel of cristo. Almost immediately after, allied strategic command was assessing the situation, two Dibeg Navy destroyers were immediately despatched to the scene. Now, as a full scale invasion of rajinnar has been called for, government critics are wondering what Dibeg's contribution will be. Rumors say that Dibeg may despatch one or more amphibious assault ships, and airlift troops in by plane. No report on whether a Dibegian aircraft helicopter will be despatched to the scene however.
In this time of international crisis, the Dibegian government is calling for calm amongst citizens, and support of our nation's armed forces.

Cottoria Prepares for War

After no reply from Ranjinnar towards peace talks. The Senate of Cottoria has vote 115-35 in favor of mobilization and an Embargo on Ranjinnar. Many Conservatives (Commerce Party) in the Senate and across the country are calling for President Cotter to declare war on Ranjinnar. However nothing has officially come out yet.

The Navy prepare to move out with it's newly built aircraft carrier as well as several other ships to set up a blockade of Ranjinnar. The Army regulars are preparing to be sent to the island of conflict and thousands of reserves are preparing for the call to arms.

Cottorians across the nation can only await as the situation edges closer and closer towards war as all eyes are now on the President to make the final decision...

The Grand Duke Urges Peace

The Grand Duke Casimir gave a speech to the Sejm today. He asked the Sejm to remain neutral in the conflict between Cristo and Rajinnar. The following quotation is from the Grand Duke's speech

"We must look to preserve peace throughout the Western Isles. We as a country must champion peace. Any further conflicts between any two or more nations in the Western Isles threatens the integrity and unity of the Western Isles. I ask the Sejm and the citizens of this fair country, to champion peace not violence. I also ask all of the leaders of the Western Isles and Cristo and Rajinnar to champion peace. I am inviting all members of the Western Isles and Linvair, Vancouvia, Dibeg, Cristo and Rajinnar to Vilnus to settle this conflict in a peaceful manner. What we decide today, will change the course of history as we know it. We can choose a path of peace and tranquility or, death and destruction."

Cottoria is at War

With no reply for Ranjinnar about peace talks between the sides. President Cotter has called on the Senate to declare war on Ranjinnar and will join with WIND and other nations in the fight to end these acts of aggression and terrorist attacks upon the people of The Republic of the Cristo.

President Cotter said to the Senate in his speech,
"All options for peace are gone, in order to secure the region and protect our friends and allies, we must get involved. Our side wanted Peace and Justice, yet those calls came on deaf ear. Now I call on you to Unite under this cause and declare war on the aggressor!"

The Senate voted in favor of war with 146-3-1 vote.

Dibeg to send up to 40,000 troops and 20 ships to WAR with Rajinnar!
Dibeg honours its WIND alliance

The armed conflict with rajinnar that has spurred much action across the region has also caused an unprecedented level of activity here at the Dibeg capital. Many unsubstantiated reports have come out of the offensive planning department and the exact number of troops Dibeg will send is still unknown. Reports from an unnamed source within the Royal Corps for Defense Support have stated that the Department of defense is considering sending up to twenty ships, drawn from multiple navy fleets to assist in the joint offensive. The naval forces of the WIND alliance members linaviar and vancouvia have a rendezvous at an unspecified naval port in Linaviar. Offensive action as well as blockading duties are expected to operate primarily out of that currently unknown port.
The same source has also said that Dibeg may contribute the entirety of Active Force Group Four to assist in a joint land offensive with attacks over the Cristo-Rajinnar border. Additionally, Dibeg may send up to 4,000 marines for amphibious assault of strategic targets in enemy territory, said the source.
Critics are saying that Dibeg is overexposing itself to a surprise attack from Rajinnar, however the Ministry of Defense has dismissed these claims as unfounded, citing the presence of AFG one and two, still on Dibegian soil. This news agency has no substantiated report of whether the Army will mobilise reserve forces.
