Greenlandic Arctic - Kaalisutaarqita
This language, Latter-Inuit Greenlandic, is not dissimilar to the Greenlandic, and any other Inuit, dialects. The language was developed as a way of familiarising Greenlandic and the Inuit dialects to the Yupik languages of Alaska and Siberia. The language was developed by the Inuit Ataqatigiit party when in power (particularly the propagandist Kuupik Nielsen, who was named as the author of the first dictionary), as a way of distancing Greenlanders from the Danish, as many Danish words had entered the Greenlandic vocabulary, and to try and recognise the newly-formed alliance of Greenland with other separatist Arctic communities. Although Inuit Ataqatigiit was later toppled by a coup developed by soldiers during the Baffin Island War, Latter-Inuit Greenlandic remains the official language of Greenlandic Arctic. Although Latter-Inuit Greenlandic is not spoken elsewhere, all other independent Arctic nations speak Latter-Inuit languages, which are very similar to Latter-Inuit Greenlandic.
