Shoot and kill as many as possible! Blow their ships to bits! Give them unending attrition! I do not care what it takes as long as you all remind the Atmoran aggressors to stay on their side of the line!

"Requiem this is Beacon 2-6! Our Aegis squadrons are being overrun by enemy fighters! Atmoran bombers are taking out our anti-air defenses, requesting immediate assistance!"
"Negative Beacon 2-6, our forces are being engaged outside of Kahagnis where a huge Atmoran force is closing in. We suggest that you deploy our reserve Aegis squadrons in that area and redirect the anti-air guns to the bombers, over."
Another explosion went off in the sky as another Atmoran fighter was hit by plasma rounds from Rocket angel squadrons. The whistle of bombs from Atmoran bombers filled the ears of the soldiers and civilians on the ground as it continued to lay waste to the surface. Up in space, the defending ships of the Space Command were holding their own against the numerous Atmoran Imperial Fleet. Columns of smoke and the corpses of the dead can be seen everywhere. But why?
Atmoran and Stormwrathian relations have turned sour ever since the conclusion of the Combine War. It wasn't much of a concern back then, as Archempress Eloise and Emperor Daral kept the noble alliance together. However, it was only ten years ago when the hostilities began to take shape between the two, when Eloise's son Caspian V ascended the throne. Now it has come to the point where war is at their very doorstep.
Overseer Eric Sebaste, who was the Overseer of the Stephanides Convocature, knew that these trigger happy Atmorans have been preparing for this day ever since the moment the Empire found Stormwrath's borders. Back in Percival's reign the Intelligence Agency of Stormwrath have found a series of documents and battle plans collectively known as War Plan Lilac. Its purpose is for a full invasion of the Tanabiku Galaxy with the reliance of speed and numbers. It has been updated many times by the Atmorans to reflect the changes in territory – its most recent update having taken place nine years ago. Despite all the preparations and the contingency plans made by the IAS and the Ministry of Defense, Stormwrath's supposed "alliance" with Atmora is what may be holding them back from doing any real strategy. No wonder it was a shock that Atmora would choose to attack Stephanides.
After a few hours of intense fighting between both sides, the Atmorans began to charge up their plasma bombardment uplinks in preparation for a planet-wide glassing. Now they had reason to panic. While the population was being systematically evacuated via ships escorted by the Stormwrath Space Command, the order was given to shoot the enemy's uplinks. The Grid cannons on the planet fired and disabled several uplinks on the vessels, some of which led to the enemy's ships to explode. However, that didn't stop the others from glassing the planet. Plasma can be seen disintegrating everything in its path, from buildings to wildlife. No distinction was made, for all were turned to dust and ashes, probably even glass as the name suggests.

The High Overseer is in a war council with top Armed Forces officers and the Archemperor. Overseer Sebaste's figure can be seen in a floating holographic projection, along with other holograms displaying several documents and exhibits of Atmoran battle strategies and warships. Currently Sebaste is on a space station light years away from the Christiana Sector, as he has no planet anymore, no Stephanides to return to. The Audience of Worlds has already declared war on the Empire of Atmora the day before, thus beginning the chain of events that will ravage the Tanabiku Galaxy as a whole. The Defense Minister replied, "We may have to particularly watch the line between the Daiichi and Dai Ni Quadrant as it is the closest way to go to Zero."
Floating past the warship hologram, Sebaste asked, "What about our territories between Stephanides and the Tanabiku Galaxy? Are they not important, even vital to our territorial integrity? Once they are gone the Tanabiku Galaxy will be next." Even though Stormwrath has a post-scarcity economy, they still know that they are a bit overstretched. Sebaste adds, "And what of the Zero World Council and the Tanabiku Galactic Forum?"
"They'll know soon enough," Caspian replied. "After all they cannot ignore it once it has happened."
"Should we be focusing on slowing the Atmoran advance to the Tanabiku Galaxy as much as possible?," questioned one of the Space Command Admirals at the council.
"Of course we should," replied another. "But which way they would most likely go through should be crucial to our war plans." Activating a hologram revealing a map of a certain part of the Laniakea Supercluster – particularly the area of space from the Milky Way Galaxy to the Virgo Cluster – he continued by saying, "Here is the Atmoran Commonwealth shown in red. As you can see they surround the TGF member territories, represented in blue, like a gigantic crescent. They will most likely attack through the shortest way possible to the Tanabiku Galaxy: the Natalian Crossing." It is a certain part on the edge of the Hirogari Galactic Group where the Atmoran border is located. Both sides know this fact well.
"Natalian Crossing? Isn't that also the location of a lot of space rocks?," asked one of the members of the council. Even ships of the Stormwrath Armed Forces have a hard time going through there.
Admiral Watchman Idris Armiger was among the council members. Being chief of the Stormwrath Space Command really says something. He is known for his unorthodox tactics and shock attacks that have helped the SSC to gain victory. Idris has seen an opportunity for the Stormwrathians to gain an early triumph. He said to everyone, "Then we have the advantage of maneuverability over the Atmorans. Since it is an invasion, then they will be most likely bringing their largest ships. We can counter that with our superfrigates and cruisers. The space rocks can be used for some protection and for traps."
"What about their technological capabilities?," questioned another high-ranking officer. "Some say that they have reached our level of technological advancement."
Idris responded, "I doubt that they know of the new technologies gained from the Combine War. We could use that." Yes it was indeed a devastating war that took several billion lives, but the Tanabikans had gained vital technologies such as calculated teleportation and more accurate energy-draining weaponry. He then turned to the head of the IAS (who was at the council) and said, "You may want to prepare robust security measures to prevent cyberspace attacks."
Caspian thought for a moment. Being the commander-in-chief of the Stormwrath Armed Forces it is his burden. "Very well then. You may go ahead with the plans in place. Of course we cannot place all of our defenses in the Crossing or they will find an alternate route in. Since our superfrigates and cruisers will be there at the location specified, our larger ships can be stationed elsewhere to defend the Tanabiku Galaxy and our territories outside of it."
"I almost forgot one thing Archemperor," pointed out a member of the council. "What about our Milky Way Colonies? The Iubar System is within New Tessia's reach."
"The Atmoran colonies in the Milky Way are largely isolated from Haven, they wouldn't want to attack the Iubar System without risking their entire fleets."
"True," Idris replied. "However we shouldn't let our guard down because of that fact. The 157th and 168th Fleets should be put on guard there to prevent another Stephanides." He turned to the others and continued, "Should the Atmorans be on their way for an invasion, let the AIs calculate their possible courses and evacuate the populations of celestial bodies to artificial colonies such as orbitals or ships. That way we can have extensive flexibility. The orbitals can support much more population compared to planets or moons. As for the Zero World Council, our High Overseer will be going to address them."
"What about the Tanabiku Galactic Forum?," asked the High Overseer.
"I will go and tell them," said the Archemperor. "I will go." He needed to go as the future hangs in his decision for now.
