it isn't that i set out on economic policies; it's that i set out really to change the approach, and changing the economics is the means of changing that approach. if you change the approach you really are after the heart and soul of the nation. economics are the method; the object is to change the heart and soul. -guess who

I think most Brits think of the Queen when it comes to patriotism. Says a lot when the population feels more proud about a bunch of snobbish cunts with a couple of ok people than our actual achievements.

I agree. Normally when you wave a British/English flag you either get branded a racist by CAGE or get laughed at by Labour MPs tweeting images of your funny home.

Hopefully Charles will do a shit job and try to meddle with democracy again and the monarchy will die. William and Harry are ok, but using your babies as a PR stunt is just wrong.

good. it might hard be hard due to the "the countries right-wingers want to move to the most are generally the countries that are less friendly to foreigners and immigrants, and this is not a coincidence" effect but i wish you luck in getting out and never coming back.

Thoes national days also have sweeping bold political statements behind them you may notice whether its Liberté, égalité and fraternité, no taxation without representation or just a free united poland, what brave and bold idea would a united kingdom national day celebrate? I'm not saying its impossible that there is one but we need to stop being a country that used to own an empire and become something new with ideals worth celebrating.

I assume you are talking about the NHS. I actually just picked up a prescription and had to pay $50 after insurance paid its portion. (and this is on a so-called 'good' insurance plan costs my family ~$20k a year).

So it's actually doing pretty bad over here. Just imagine if you have no insurance or shitty insurance!

I initially misunderstood this to mean that Britain's greatest achievement is its destruction, which sounded just a wee bit morbid

No, I was joking that the existence of the US is UK's greatest achievement / contribution.

Besides, the US is hardly a model for private healthcare. If at all, I'd much rather have Switzerland than America. Corporate welfare prevents firms from ever going bankrupt so there's a safety net in America, so no one cares about the extremely high prices.

Then on the other side, I rarely ever go to a doctor, so that won't affect me.
