I think they scan the threads for certain words, and then produce advertisements based on what is being discussed. For instance, if you are discussing drum kits, the bot will then tell the adserver to produce ads for drum kits on that page.

But doesn't the Google Adense Bot do that as well as the MSN ones?

But I don't see any ads except the ones for like Evony at the side and top.

edit: ok, so I say that and then go back to the general page and get ads about interracial dating services.

I use adblock plus so I don't see any ads at all, I've always assumed that NS normally has loads of ads all over the place.

I usually use adblock, but it blocks a lot of things I actually want to see which gets a bit annoying so I've turned it off.
The Jolt forum had an ad after the first post in a thread, which was horrible in addition to ads at the top, bottom and sides. This isn't so bad.
