I have been asked to correct some inaccuracies in this paper.

Imperialists, after all, made for natural allies to The West Pacific – the old guard, bitter enemies of the fallen ADN, were far less likely to find common ground with defenders than imperialists like North-East Somerset or Onderkelkia – chums of the old guards from their days as regular coupers when Westwind’s Crimson Order in The North Pacific and The Empire in The East Pacific relied on military support from imperialists.

In your eagerness to wax lyrical about the events of 2008, in a very different gameplay environment, you have exaggerated the extent of my association.

I joined TNI from the LKE in May 2008 (i.e. after the Crimson Order's coup of The North Pacific); the LKE had no role in supporting it. While I was TNI Director of Intelligence in the latter half of 2008, I had no input whatsoever into any discussions with regard to our policy on the Empire in TEP; this was before I became Crown Prince and Commander of the Armed Forces in 2010. These decisions were entirely handled by the Government, specifically by Sir Pitt/Posul (the Chancellor), who had left TNI politics (until a relatively brief return in mid-2014) by the end of 2008 after failing to gain re-election.

So what on what basis am I described as one of the "chums of the [TWP] old guard"? I'm nothing of the sort. I've never even spoken to them directly.

As ever, TRR Times prioritises innuendo over fact as it rushes to portray the situation in terms most easily crafted to suit defender propaganda.

Certainly, for the much of his period as Commander of TWP Armed Forces (including while he was in UIAF after Albion joined) neither NES nor I had actually ever spoken to him once. His position in TWP as military commander was arguably higher-ranking than his position in Albion and certainly for the UIAF.

To suggest that Cassius Cerebella was in TWP as some sort of 'local front' for the UIAF is nothing short of defamatory against both him and the UIAF.

Let's just correct some facts about the early history of TWP, something Unibot knows nothing about. I know a little bit more as I was there and if get some of the facts wrong Eli will correct me - he was there too.

Post Norion there was the First Constitution: a lot of it was written or influenced by a nation called Freedom and Pride. Guy had a talent for legislation, but had zero social process skills. Basically the Delegate couldn't go to the toilet without permission from the off-site government. Looking back I think this was F&P's way of running the Delegacy by proxy - there was no chance of him ever becoming elected Delegate, mainly because he was intensely disliked by the majority of TWP members.

The Dominion came next - Neenee seized the Delegacy, supported by Biyah and Zeta One. The Dominion lasted about a week before Neenee resigned and Berm took back the Delgacy. He instituted a Council of Reconciliation (of which I was a member) to try and find the root cause of the coup and look for ways to re-unite the region. Biyah basically plea bargained Neenee and Zeta out of trial, saying he alone was behind the coup. He then stood trial, more than ably defended by Enegro Montoya, who got him off. Used TWP's laws and constitution to clear him.

The result was a constitutional crisis - the formation of the second constitution was in reality a battle between those who wanted total off-site control of the Delegacy (F&P and a few others) and those who wanted the role to have more freedom. The result was a stalemate, broken by the appearance of the Triumvirate - Eli, TAO and Biyah. Eli ejected quite a few high endo nations from TWP (including myself) and brought in Vlagh (Ivan Moldavi) and Unistrut to form a new government. Their involvement caused Biyah to join the Government in Exile under Shasoria. We then had about 9 months of negotiation to reunite the region. The Third Constitution gave the Delegate independence from the off-site government and that has been pretty much the case ever since.

So there you are - a potted history of the early days of TWP. It may not be 100% correct, but it is more right than anything Unibot will write.

On the subject of poetry and with apologies to Christopher Logue:
