Maybe for the retinue cavalrymen. Not for the infantry or archer retinue, nor the archers. Too expensive.

Related to my next post, how do we feel about the appearance of "what may be magic"? I'm not talking Gandalf comes riding out with his staff, raining down meteors. I mean old seers in the woods with prophetic words or knowing way more than they should, pagan "spellcrafters" casting curses and a string of bad luck begins, that sort of thing.

Potentially separate point, my current thoughts are that our main religion should be generically monotheistic and analogous to Catholicism, but no Christ figure. Instead of a cross, religious symbol should be a circle, representing a halo.

Pagan faiths would be generally polytheistic. Some with numerous gods, others with just two. Emphasis would be on more nature based deities, some with rather bloodthirsty worship practices.
