I think. I know they came with increased armor but not sure about when it started.

Most materials that I found says they started with the D model, not the F1...

So they wouldn't have the extra bolted on front armor.

Like I said, I'm not sure when they started standardizing add-on armor.

I got bored, so I planned my tank progression if a reboot happens.

Bishop---->Churchill I---->Churchill III--->Black Prince (Maybe)

Cruiser Mk IV--->Covenanter Mk III--->Crusader Mk II--->Cromwell Vw--->Comet

I am pretty sure it was the "Panzer III ausf L"Image or the "Panzer III ausf N" Image

Ulvenes wrote:The Italian, and honestly the early German 'medium tank' titles confuse me. Most of Italian armor is light IMO(and for good reason), and the Panzer III is more of a light tank than a medium tank to me, but I guess comparing to the Panzer I and II it would be a medium tank.

Well Italians did not have lots of flat land.

As someone who lives in Appalachia, I sympathize.
Rynagria wrote:Wouldn't the 47mm have trouble with the M3 Medium, Panzer IV, and StuG III frontally?

And the M3's guns could penetrate most of Anzio tanks pretty consistently, while the StuG would be able to penetrate everyone of their tanks.

Also, reboot?

While the StuG III had the best gun in the game, it lacks traversing, and knowing Anzio's sneakiness, it wouldn't be too difficult to stage an ambush on it's flanks. While the Panzer IV could take out a M13/40 or M15/42 with ease, the Semovente 75/18 can penetrate it at ranges of 1,000 meters with a HEAT round (which I assume they were using. It would have been impossible to take out the StuG otherwise.) the tank destroyer has up to 50mm of frontal armor.

There are accounts of battles between M13/40, M14/41 (which was really nothing more than a M13/40 with a few minor modifications and new engine) and the M3 Grant. In nearly all of them, the M13/40 and M14/41 managed to perform well, there wouldn't really be too large a technological gap.

Duck Team would be out in less than no time.

Reboot shall come soon.

Are you trying to be blatantly offensive? America is a far cry from a perfect country, but I have a better life here than in Belarus. It's annoying to hear people like you insult it. Especially when you mention illuminati. Also, if memory serves, your first post in this thread was bashing it.

I'm going to start out with French tanks, and may then move over to the Japanese later on. And if that doesn't work, then I guess I'll have to settle for German tanks. >-<

But they aren't your first, which is my point.

I mean nobody here seems like they would defend the Sherman or something......

You guys thought the Sherman was the greatest tank of WWII? Now, I've been amazed by the knowledge of tanks you guys have shown you had throughout this thread, to the point where I felt a bit overwhelmed,

But really? The Sherman?

I remember us agreeing that the Sherman was the best, combining firepower, mobility, enough armor to keep it safe from small arms.

Yes. As I stated above, it has a great balance in The Holy Trinity of the tank. Having a good gun, great mobility, and decent armor. It fought on more fronts than any other tank in WWII, fighting in Africa, and both Western and Eastern Fronts, and combines quality with quantity. Not to mention it is highly modifiable.

Now, this isn't to say that there aren't tanks better than it, but it is much easier to maintain than the T-34, or the Panzer IV. Not to mention it can find strength in numbers.

I can see where you are coming from. I based my thoughts on that it was rather inferior to the German Panzer during it's campaign in France and Germany. But yes, it has a great balance. However, I like to split the war into three parts. 1939-1941, 1942-1943, and 1944-1945. I would like to see your opinion for each of these time periods, on which is the best tank at that time.
