Our Story
Tromp Motorcycle is the next step in motorcycle evolution. By combining the best aspects of a traditional motorcycle with today’s most advanced technology, Tromp produces high performance electric motorcycles that are lightweight, efficient, fast off the line and fun to ride. Each motorcycle is optimized from the ground up to leverage the revolutionary TrompC™ electric powertrain and uses a specially designed rigid, aircraft-grade aluminum frame to minimize weight.

Once a burning idea conceived inside a StevenC garage, Tromp has rapidly grown into an internationally known motorcycle company. FAST CHARGING AND ONE TENTH THE POLLUTION
Years of development in our proprietary TrompC™ technology make Tromp Motorcycles a leader in acceleration, range and longevity. Our fast chargers are completely automatic and use a specially developed charge profile to optimize charge times. You can leave your battery on the charger for hours, days, even months (if you are away from home). It's ready to go when you are and plugs into any standard 110 or 220 volt outlet.

Charging Battery

Electricity is a very clean and efficient form of energy. Although there is some pollution associated with the production of electricity, a Tromp motorcycle will produce less than one-eighth of the CO2 pollution per mile at the power plant than a gas powered motorcycle. It will also produce 1/100th of the smog causing nitrous oxides.

FULLY RECYCLABLE POWER PACK
Tromp Motorcycles uses the best practices in the EV industry to make sure all of our Lithium-Ion power packs are recycled. Each one uses a chemistry that allows us to take advantage of continuously improving battery recycling programs.

Tromp power packs are fully air cooled and designed to handle the most extreme conditions. Our latest generation of TrompC™ power pack technology uses new and more precise cell monitoring to ensure greater range, more power and better acceleration off the line.

POWERFUL ELECTRIC MOTOR
Our permanent magnet electric motor is capable of delivering instant torque from zero rpm and requires almost no maintenance.

The motor uses one-tenth the steel and half the copper of competing DC motors, and delivers one of the best power-to-size ratios in the industry.

DESIGNED FROM THE GROUND UP
Tromp Motorcycles’ frames are engineered to combine high strength with low weight. Each frame is made using 100% aircraft grade aluminum. Developed using cutting edge computer aided design software, TM-1 Tyvar weighs only 22 pounds.

Trompian™ Frame

FINELY CRAFTED AIRCRAFT ALUMINUM FRAME
Tromp Motorcycles frames are welded by the world’s most highly skilled aluminum welders. Critical areas are ensured against failure using double pass welds and other techniques.
After welding, the entire frame is heat treated to restore the strength around the weld areas. The treatment process involves heating the frame in a furnace and then submerging it in a solution-bath to quench the hot metal.
Finally, critical areas such as pivots, brake mounts, and chain-guide mounts are re-milled for absolute accuracy.

SUSPENSION
Tromp Motorcycles’ suspension systems are engineered by the industry’s leaders to meet the needs of our powerful, yet lightweight, electric motorcycle technology. Each motorcycle includes a custom-built, adjustable front fork and rigid double diamond rear swingarm. The rear wheel stays planted using a coil rear shock with a fully adjustable spring preload and easily tuned damping. TM-2 Laju

The TM-2 Laju is the world’s first street motorcycle that enables owners to essentially charge anywhere by way of an on-board charger, removable power pack and optional

Laju Smart-dash

stand-alone charger. This allows owners to recharge without the requirement of garage or street-level charging at their homes or apartments. The removable pack also facilitates essentially non-stop usage by enabling individuals, or fleets, to quickly swap power packs.

The 2012 TM-2 Laju leverages a completely new battery cell chemistry and configuration. Not only does the TM-2 Laju now have 42 miles range, the power pack is designed to last the life of the motorcycle. The result of cutting edge research and development, each cell in the power pack is individually controlled and monitored at all times to ensure maximum health. The integrated onboard charger minimizes charge time and can work in parallel with Zero’s quick charge accessories to cut charge times by 50%.

The TM-3 Pantas is built on the foundation of the TM-2 and incorporates technology from Zero’s highly durable off-road motorcycles. The wheels are designed to be particularly lightweight and strong. In the dirt or on the street the dual sport tires maintain a tight grip and a specially engineered suspension system absorbs the bumps. The result is a dual sport motorcycle that is ready for any surface you can throw at it.

Featuring a clutchless direct drive, the Zero DS is geared for rapid acceleration and increased efficiency.
