My great grandfather was a WW2 corporal. from what I know >.<

Mine was imprisoned by the Japs in WWII, from what I've heard. He's been gone for about a decade by now.
I barely know shet about my family XD

Well, one person (don't know who, but I think a "achter-oudneef" or something like that was a soldier on the German side...
But another family member was in the resistance.
You could say we have both sides of the coin.
Generally we hate that person on the german side, but also we feel spite for him because he was forced to.

There is a Chinese man whose family tree goes back all the way to Confucius.
It has been proven, too.

Well, a lot of the descendants of Confucius have stayed put in Qufu, which makes the family easier to keep track of; and Confucius has been revered for a long time, which means they had a reason to keep track.

Interestingly, my family was also very involved in the military, especially during the Japanese Occupation of Singapore. Since my great-grandfather was the stepbrother of a prominent anti-Japanese resistance leader, the Kempeitai tried to interrogate him so as to get more information on the resistance's plans. When he refused, they took him to a beach along the north coast and drowned him.

The irony was that all that my great-grandfather knew about was Lim Bo Seng's whereabouts. He was just a biscuit factory manager.

I don't see why you would have people that fought for Germany during WWII, they were just soldiers following orders, if they didn't they'd be executed for cowardice and or treason :/
