You all wanted NSRB dead. And you got it. If this isn't about you, then don't make it about you.

Booooo, just v.2? Is this all the info we get? Am I in a beta? I've heard something about a new links feature coming soon, can you confirm or deny these rumours?

I'm not going to self-nominate for League VP, but I would accept nomination by another for the purpose of getting things moving.

Don't recognise the name? As a user I'm better-known as The Babbage Islands, although Green Jello Salad has a respectable history (especially in this sport). I've been away from NS for about a year and a half and am working my way back in. As GJS I hosted Rugby League World Cup 11 (and placed third) which ended in December 2012, about 90 days before my wife died of cancer. The first half of 2013 was chaos, and despite half-hearted efforts to go on I eventually CTEd after five years here with my main nation.

Right, so first of all, sorry that the thread isn't up yet. I've been really busy this week, but I've got a little spare time this weekend. I'm having to do the rankings, which haven't been updated yet. As soon as I have, I will make the group draw and post the thread.

EDIT: Ranks!
Sorry if they look a bit odd, but I wanted to get them done ASAP. Thread will be up within the next few hours, after I attend to some RL stuff.

Ok, so with a nomination for the League VP, coming in the form of Green Jello Salad, I'll set a cut-off for any further nominations for a week, 7th February (not that I expect any further nominations).

Should we even bother with elections for this? Both positions have only one candidate and both candidates are trusted members of the rugby side of things here. In my mind it's unnecessary bureaucracy, though I'm of course willing to listen to other's opinions.

Which is why Darmen's domestic competition mandates contested scrums. Something the RLIF, RFL and NRL should implement too.

That's...not really true at all.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrum_%28rugby%29
Instead of lineouts, which is done in rugby union, a ball is brought back into play through scrums in league. There are other times where scrums are used. Granted, they don't happen as frequently in union, but they do happen in league.

Have you ever watched a League scrum. The ball goes in, the ball goes out. There's no push by either team. Perfect example.

Intensity and formality aside, it's still technically a scrum. I played union for years as a lock, so I'm well aware of the intensity of union scrums.

We had the same position! However, perhaps we could return this thread to discussing NS rugby rather than the minutiae of league scrummage.

Thanks to Jeckland for keeping the RLWC going. I meant to get a Hutanjia post in, but such is life. I will probably have it done before the next scoring.

Where are we at on VP candidates and the NSRB? Are we really just foregoing a vote because there's no opposing candidates?

Also, are the Seasogs and IRLCC just dead in the water, or what?

It occurred to me today: would you guys like a better domestic rugby thread? I am QoD, OP of that thread, but I'm not really involved in NS rugby any more, and the thread's intro is a little sparse.

I'm reluctant to keep QoD reactivated so I won't be editing the thread, but if you'd like me to request a lock so that someone more active can restart the thread with a better OP providing details and links, I would be happy to oblige.
