About Us

The world now is experiencing a specter of defense and security issues. Incidents global wide had influenced the global security landscape. Darul Takzim, geographically being a nation in the middle of strategic region shares her territorial boundaries with other countries. The strategic geographical positioning in these neighborhoods and the world security environment consequently influence the future of the country. The scenario requires Darul Takzim to have a practical approach towards defense and security policy preparation.

Ministry of Foreign, Defense & Security Affair (FODESA) is entrusted and duty bound to sustain the nation's sovereignty and stability. Thus, any policy formulated by the Ministry of Foreign, Defense & Security Affair (FODESA) shall be comprehensive, credible and relevant to the complex scenario of the present and future regional and global security environment.

The complex security environment with a large number of internal and external issues requires the Ministry to deliver a professional institution which could generate thinking and knowledge sharing based on analytical research and subject field on defense and protection matters.

Charter
FODESAC Conduct research and analysis on policies related to Defense and Security.
• Generate thinking, debates and knowledge sharing through defense and security seminars either national or international level or dialogues concerning defense and security issues.
• Disseminate research findings through The Journal of Defense and Security, magazine, monograph and seminar proceedings.
• Collate and study research from other research foundations and higher learning centers holistically through networking with those creations.
• Develop resource centers for DT Armed Forces and Ministry of Foreign, Defense & Security Affair.
• Explore new research areas with cooperation from other national or international research institutes.

TEMENGGUNG IBRAHIM DEFENSE INSTITUTE (TIDI)
TEMENGGUNG IBRAHIM DEFENSE INSTITUTE is a Centre for Defence and International Security. It was established in January 2009 to promote research on defense and security studies at FODESAC and to meet the requirements of the Ministry of FODESA and countries in certain fields.

Objective
• To become a center of research institutes and consulting in strategy, defense, security and international relations.

• To be the focal point for the Government to consult on issues related to national defense and international security.

• To organize conferences and seminars on issues of defense and international security at international and national level.

• To conduct research in collaboration with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), industry and other research institutions with similar objectives within and outside the country on issues of defense and international security.

• To conduct courses for executives and conducting post-graduate courses in the fields of defense and international security.

• To become a Centre of Excellence on defense and international security.

SULTAN ISKANDAR SECURITY ACADEMY (SISCA)
The SULTAN ISKANDAR SECURITY ACADEMY (SISCA) was set up under the aegis of FODESAC at Darul Ehsan Research Complex (DERCOM). The Academy has been identified as Centre of Excellence in the matters of Internal Security & related issues. It also offers facilities for research studies on Internal Security and related subjects and will expand its source base through tie-ups with similar institutions in and outside the country.

The rapidly changing pattern in the society, violence has made the problems of Internal Security more complex & complicated. Economic distress, prevalent social inequalities and extremist activities coupled with rapid technical improvements have added to the difficulties of administrators in handling Internal Security problems. It was, thus, felt that Police Officers and Administrators should be exhibited to the modernizing tendencies in diverse aspects of Internal Security with a view to sharpen their perception and to devise better tools and techniques for managing these problems.

SULTAN ABU BAKAR FOREIGN INSTITUTE (SABFI)
SULTAN ABU FOREIGN INSTITUTE (BFI) was established on July 1, 1991 under the Prime Minister following the Cabinet decision on 6 March 1991. This Institute was officially launched on August 12, 1991 by the then Prime Minister, Dato 'Ibrahim Kamal. SABFI is an agency under FODESAC.

Headed by a Director with the main purpose of the council is to provide and administration training program for Darul Takzim diplomatic officials as well as officials of ministries and other government agencies. In addition to the core courses offered by the SABFI of diplomatic training courses, it also provides skills training in foreign languages such as English, French and Arabic.

SABFI also in collaboration with local universities offering post-graduate program of study a masters in diplomacy and strategy.

Distinguished Fellow

Dr Ramlan Buang

He received his M.A. Communication Arts and Sciences (Speech Comm) from University Negara Johor Bahru, Darul Takzim (1988) and Ph.D in Comm (UNJB-2005). He has led a number of researches in Communication, particularly in relation to evolution and government. His researches were sponsored by both public and secret financing. As an academician, he has printed his works extensively in local and international journals, volumes and book chapters.

He was too actively involved in in-service training programs, responsible in training, communications for staffs of various government and private authorities, members of NGOs and political parties in the state.

Dr James Hurtingdon Basil

Dr Basil is vice president of Finance & Strategy and chief financial officer of DT Utilities Bhd (DTUB) of Darul Takzim. In this role, Dr Basil is responsible for the overall financial management of DTUB, which reported revenues of $3 billion in 2013. In addition to the traditional Finance and Contracts organizations, He also oversees strategic planning for DTUB as he manages Business Development, Market, Services and Strategy Integration

Colonel Eric Foong, DT Army

Colonel Foong is the media adviser to the Darul Takzim Secretary of Defense and the ex-spokesperson of the DT Army. Foong finished his studies at Tanjung Puteri's military college in 1991. Afterwards he served in the DT army's infantry corps, where he held various positions, including regiment commander. He then assumed a position with the military college's teaching facility, as well as that of the army's general command and officer's school.

Ambassador Oswald Ian Brenserf

Ambassador Brenserf appointed as The Principality of Saltbridge envoy to World Assembly, former Lt Gov of Plumden. Prior to these he was a former Plumden State Secretary

Son of Former Indo-Malaysia Prime Minister. Revoloutionising and fixing countries Economy.

Hon. Jennifer H Silton

Ms Silton currently serve as Head of Foreign Affair Academy, Khantari Ministry of Foreign Affair. Graduated from the Finfirth University (International Economic Relations & Foreign Trade) in 1994. Participated in educational and research projects of the various foreign conglomerate as consultant. Former Trade Attache to Moorburgh.

Hon. Dr. Emma Braun von Tapper

Dr von Tapper began her career with a B.S. in ChemicalTecnologies from East Montoef University of Stevencousin. After working as a plant engineer for National Electrical Corporation for two years, she earned an MBA from Theodore Passif University. She worked in product and technology commercialization for Federal Biotechnic Lab in their biotechnology division and technology consulting for Ministry of Defense prior to receiving a Ph.D. in Strategic Diplomacy from the Armed Force Academy.

Hon. Mr. Bren Kohlar

A graduate from the Imperial University of Lorethia.

Hon. Dr Alex Spearweather

Dr Spearweather, male, Hundredstar nationality, is a native of Lightmason Province. He was born in 1959 and completed postgraduate studies. Dr Spearweather spent the early part of his career as president and professor of Lightmason Polytechnical University in Forestcloth.

Hon. Mr. Cain Steelbridge

President and Chief Executive Officer of Steelbaron Ammo Ltd of Steelbaron. Previously Senior Vice President and President Steelbaron Ammo Ltd. Over 20 years of extensive experience in finance, operations, government facility management, and executive leadership, including business start-up and turn arounds. Held numerous leadership positions in finance and operations in solid rocket motors, tactical systems, and conventional munitions businesses. Bachelor's degree, Management, Cape Steelyards State University. Master of Business Administration degree, Osborne Military College.

Hon. Lt General (ret.) Collin Pleasantmore

Lt General Pleasantmore, 56 is Thousandsuns former Ambassador to Gãoami. Prior to these, he was former Chief of Staff, Federal Armed Force Intelligence Service (FAFIS)

Hon. Lloyd Nashville

Mr. Lloyd Nashville is a senior analyst from the University of New Montana Center for Cyber Security (NMCCS), researching and writing on international and domestic cyber policy issues. Since joining the NMCCS in June 2013, Lloyd has published on issues including deterrence in cyberspace, the Jeltronian Royal Army's cyber modernization, and digital trade in the Commonwealth of Jeltronia, and provided commentary on cyber issues for Jeltronian news outlets.

Prior to joining the NMCCS, he worked with the Ministry of Defense, where he helped developed and implemented strategic policy on cyber issues, including national and departmental strategic policy, and cyber-related concepts and doctrine.
