In The Bowels of the Elemental Darkness,
Nos Astros, Illium

Giovanni had not came to Illium in years after his his retirement from the Alliance Navy and wanted to see the galaxy as a civilian instead of a soldier. Nos he is back in action and is waiting for the CEO of Apex so they can meet. Even though he was.blind, he can still see through his VI and he also had Augustine close by to make sure nothing goes wrong. He walked into the Entirety bar and decided he needed a drink for old times sake and the rise of House Fennec while he waited for the CEO of Apex to come and meet him.

Month 2 Events

Postby Nuxipal » Mon Dec 29, 2014 11:28 pm

The miners of Apex Industries found something unexpected in their mines. A cash of Eezo worth a great deal of credits. They know that they can either use this eezo for their ship production(-1 month on any ships started in month 2) or they can sell it(200 credits).

The Pirates of the Crescent Claws have seized another pirate's ship and his cargo while on routine patrol around their base. The Batarian had a cargo of 10 sets of identical human twins on board. He had gone through a great deal of trouble to get them. The Crescent Claws have a choice to make, continue the slaver's mission for him, let him return to his business, or release the 'cargo'. If the Pirates sell the cargo they receive 100 credits and 1 frigate. If they free the cargo they receive 1 frigate. Choosing to release the slaver results in the crescent claws gaining nothing.

The recent Krogan unification effort has proven more difficult as several other Clans have found they have credits to spend thanks to some anonymous donors. Krogan Warlords from offworld were being shipped back to Tuchanka to oppose the rise of Clan Urdnot. With one of the Warlords was a young Salarian Scientist named Maelon who has plans to help a smaller clan named Weyrloc rise to power by curing the genophage. This has caused several hundred unfertile females to abandon the female camp in search of the Weryloc camp in hopes that he can cure them of the genophage.

On Jarrahe Station, House Fennec engineers have discovered the remnants of years of advanced VI technology. This has led their science divisions to unraveling a new more powerful VI software for their ships. All current starships owned by House Fennec recieve free Enhanced Electronic Warfare.

For the month, the Quarian people have received several of their own back into the fleet. This month a very talented individual has returned and been accepted into a crew incredibly fast. They quickly rose through the ranks and are now identified as an Elite Specialist. The Quarians gain a Free Elite Specialist.

The Rachni continue to grow. The Rachni gain 2 Free unupgraded militia.

In the Terminus Systems, it seems that the Blue Suns and Eclipse have both been contacted by a third party wanting them to band together to help with a specialized mission. The credits being spent points to some major corporation or government.

Red Striker, above Maisuth, Ondeste system, Crescent nebula

Captain Narya Vas Red Striker, Quarian Pirate queen of the Crescent Claw fleet, sat with one leg draped over the other as she looked through the fog filled helmet that she was basically trapped in at a small vorcha. The vermin cowered under her, twitching every time she moved her foot to some unseen rhythm. This Vorcha had tried to kill her not ten minutes ago, thinking he had the backing of the other Vorcha like the stupid little man did. He was young, and new to the crew, so he didn't know to respect the Quarian captain like everyone else. All he saw was a weak little girl stuck in her so easily broken bubble, and so when he tried stabbing into her armored back and watched it bounced off, Narya took her chance to remove his arms in an instance. Narya never liked blood, or really violence. What she really enjoyed was just calm and quiet evenings, days where she could relax in the company of like minded individuals. However, she was no delicate little flower. She knew these pirates needed to respect her if she were to stay in control, and little the crippled Vorcha cowering in the air lock chamber shaking as he watched his captains foot grow closer and closer with every small swing to the decompression controls.

"So....Thrak was it? Oh it doesn't matter now. Tell me...Do you regret scratching my armor now?" She asked, treating the threat to her life as no more then a small inconvenience in her day, a trick she picked up from the previous captain to emphasize her power over a person's life. The Vorcha let out words, but honestly his voice gave the head ache growing in Narya's head power and she held up her hand, stopping him "By the fleet shut up, I forgot you guy can't speak without coughing up a lung....I'll just assume you do, and that you are dreadfully sorry for doing it...right?" She asked, standing up from the folding chair she had been sitting on, fixing the wrinkles in her coat. The sight of him rapidly nodding in her peripheral vision made her smile. She didn't like violence, but she'd be a liar if she didn't love the power she had now a days. It felt so sweet, the power she had over these physically superior men and women, all cause she had the quad to take the position.

She froze a little bit, then let out a small little giggle, that had she not been extremely close to the button that would determine his fate, the Vorcha would have thought a sign of weakness. However he stayed quiet, simply looking confused at her. She looked to him, and chuckled a bit, this time much more darkly. The captain leaned her head into the air lock, so he could hear her better, and said "You know...you remind me of the last captain....". The statement confused the Vorcha, and he managed to choke out a "W-why? " Before he saw her tap on the control pad and he began to frantically go to the door. She through the chair into him, and he fell to the ground, only able to watch as the door closed as she spoke to him . "Oh, it's quite simple a reason. I killed him exactly like this....". The Door closed as he let out a stream of curses behind the sound proof and air tight door, and could only watch as she looked through the window on the door. He thought maybe he could break that window and take her with him right when the room decompressed and he was launched out into space, and to his end.

With a sigh, Narya turned around and began walking to the bridge, knowing she had plenty to handle before the day was over and that execution had set her back a bit. However, time was money, and she had money to make up for. First Order of business was reading the reports she got about news that the Geth had shown up briefly in terminous space. This of course made her antsy, ghost stories of the machines still haunting her dreams. However, she was practical and thought if she could maybe make a deal with them, they could give her something good.

So with a quick flick of her wrist, a message was sent to an old Quarian probe within the persious Veil, with request to talk to the Geth ship that had entered the terminous system to set up a meeting.

She then began to examine more reports, and after awhile, found a small little note on the bottom of the pile. What it said surprised her. There was a new admiral, and his name was one she kne wall to well. "So....he made it to the admiralty huh? Good for him...." She was quiet for awhile, before she sent out a message to the Quarian fleet, requesting correspondence with this admiral, with her code words attached to it to show her legitimacy.

Nuxipal wrote: The Pirates of the Crescent Claws have seized another pirate's ship and his cargo while on routine patrol around their base. As for their recent acquisition, She really didn't see the use of these humans. There were to many of them and she doubted any of them had any training. However, they could prove useful to either sell or use. Deciding on a course of action, Narya goes and give them a choice. They could either go free, or join her crew. Of course, those who chose to go free would be sold unbeknownst to the others, as she would not waste a chance at resources of any kind.

Those that do except, would be judged base don their abilities and assigned jobs base don them until they proved themselves to be better in other areas. Those who try to fight would be incapacitated and sold by one of her stronger crew mates, like a turian or a krogan.

The Geth Consensus

Image

We Are Legion

Rannoch, Tikkun System, Perseus Veil

Little stirred upon the vast installations on the planets; central hubs, receivers for the listening posts on Ket'osh and other buildings dotted around. Several Geth units marched in synchronisation up towards one of vast buildings still operating. Several birds perched themselves on overhangs, chirping as they would have done 300 years prior. Ever since the Quarians left, much of Rannoch's wildlife had seen a rebirth - for 300 years no hunting, no deforestation, no fishing and so forth. A blessing in disguise, many would refer to it as.

The Geth continued their patrol, weapons at hand as they advanced up a flight of stairs. Soon, they stumbled across a room filled with terminals and different equipment used to pick up signals on various frequencies. One of the Geth in the patrol did as it always did - march into the room to do a check before returning to the patrol. Its metallic fingers tapped on terminals and consoles a like. It continued to tap against the equipment and befor long he had brought up a message.

It wasn't even a minute after seeing this that the Consensus had already dispatched a ship to investigate.

The Geth shuttle could barely be recognised as such. In truth, it was a purposed Quarian vehicle pre-dating the Morning War that the Geth had upgraded merely to receive a better insight on how things had worked all before the dreaded exodus of a people. As it descended down to Aite, it shook and tumbled and turned but the experienced Geth pilot had already brought the vessel under control once it broke through the atmosphere. It's speed was quite a thing of beauty and it zoomed across the skies of Aite with grace. The Geth would soon merely jump out of the shuttle instead of it landing as the organics did. It was a small team, one of five standard Geth Infantry and a Prime that commanded them. With their weapons at hand they began a trek towards the coordinates, having departed from their shuttle a distance away from it in case of hostilities.

The Real Geth

Location: Phoenix Massing, Tassrah System, Real Geth Frigate

Platform Model A-117 was unlike other mobile platforms, where other Geth Platforms only had 100 programs A-117 had 1,183 programs built into it to ensure independent operation far from the consensus of the Real Geth, added to that A-117 was equipped with high quality arms, armor, stealth programming, and programming in the effective use of Electronic Warfare both offensively and defensively. In the end A-117 was the most effective single platform created by the Real Geth, the various programs within A-117 working together in harmony as well, as such A-117 was to be used for missions of the highest importance to the Real Geth...such as acting as the Real Geth's ambassador to the Creators during first contact and initial talks. However, first the Real Geth had to find the Creators, watch groups on the extranet had pointed to the Phoenix Massing as the location of the Creator's Flotilla but disagreed on the particular system that the Creators were in specifically. However, suddenly a distress signal was intercepted by the Geth stealth frigate and a new consensus had to be made as A-117 received it's broadcast along with all other platforms on the frigate.

>>VESSEL DETAILS: MERCHANT CORVETTE, CIVILIAN, QUARIAN IN ORIGIN. DATABASE MATCHES IT WITH FLOTILLA SHIP CENSUS

After several seconds consensus was made, the Frigate would move to help the downed Creators in whatever way it could. It was a quick and decisive decision followed by a quick and decisive jump to FTL towards the Typhon System. It wouldn't take long for the Real Geth frigate to get in system, and once it did the stealth systems were immediately activated to avoid detection as the frigate silently moved towards the planet of Aite. Then a new Consensus was made, Platform A-117 would be the sole Geth platform sent done until confirmation that the sight was secure could be sent back to the frigate, it was an acceptable risk.

///

Location: Aite, Geth shuttle, Platform A-117

Internal and external diagnostics were completed and platform A-117 had calculated itself to be well within acceptable ranges of operational efficiency, now all that was left for the platform was to wait for the shuttle to get to the DZ and allow the Geth platform to begin its mission. This occurred at the estimated time exactly and while still in the air A-117 jumped from the shuttle and landed easily onto the ground without incident. Pulling the Pulse Rifle off its magnetic clamp and activating the cloaking mechanism platform A-117 was now ready to begin it's movement towards the site of the downed ship, navigation systems pointed A-117 to where it needed to go, meanwhile all other processing power was put behind moving quickly yet stealthily and observing A-117's environment for hostile threats. However there was something A-117 did not know, the Creators had already landed on the planet and so too had the True Geth, and A-117 was moving straight towards the most likely point of confrontation...the crash site.

Tuchanka - War council

"Korx has informed me of an agreement he has made with the Turian Ambassador all we have to is help them smashing some Geth into Scrapmetal and we get all the Weapons we can buy to start building new warships again. Now it's important that this remain a closely guarded secret so I want you to find the most Radioactive hellhole on Tuchanka and build a shipyard under it this will make sure that nobody will venture there and nobody will ever look in such a hellhole. I want Everyone will be on a need to know basis the workers will stay there with their families until I deem in unnecessary to hide our military build up make sure they are people we can trust. I also want the Old space port to be Rebuild with defenses and a garrison of 1000. There will be No aliens allowed to leave the spaceport without my Permission and they will also have a military escort under all time. It is also well known that the DMZ peacekeepers will search any ship that is not under council identification. But I don't trust those good for nothing aliens so we will conduct our own search after the ships land in the spaceport and any alien trying to leave will be shot on sight they will be allowed to sell their goods at the spaceport but nowhere else Understood ah and before I forget if any spaceship tries to land anywhere except the spaceport shoot them down understood?" all the council member nodded this seemed like a necessary precaution

"Urdnot Wreav may I have you're attention there are some things that I'd like to bring to your attention first is that several of our Infertile women seem to be leaving to Clan Weyrloc from what we have heard Clan Weyrloc seems to be getting help from a Salarian scientist we don't know the name but he seems to be Trying to Cure the genophage and that is why several hundreds of Infertile women from several clans are going to him, What do you want to do about it Urdnot Wreav?" "hmm this is grave indeed but I will not let some second rate clan gain a cure for the genophage I want Torg you will take 2 Infantry divisions 1 Artillery and 1 Armored division also have 2 Gunship wings for support to assault and Capture this Salarian and teach Clan Weyrloc a lesson they should not have more than 1000 to 1500 warriors and if anyone is getting the cure it's clan Urdnot and it's allies." "Then I Warlord Torg will lead the assault and Teach Clan Weyrloc a lesson they will not soon forget, but there is one more thing before I leave I have some more news to tell it seems like several Warlords are returning to Tuchanka for unknown reasons they might cause trouble if left unchecked"
Wreav Considered this "all new warlords are to Report to my clan hall and swear allegiance to me or they will die that is all I have to say"

warlord Torg's Forces 1 Mile outside Clan Weyrloc
"Warlord Torg what is our battleplan?" Warlord Torg looks over the Holographic projection of Clan Weyrloc's Stronghold "They saw us coming a mile away but it doesn't matter they seem to have dug a Trench line outside their compound I'm guessing they will have their main gun emplacements in the stronghold shooting us while we approach they also put mines outside the Trench line.
Here's the plan we start with 1 hour long Artillery barrage to soften them up and make sure you also bomb a way to the Compound if they set up any mines they will be gone when our forces get there. Then we will use Our Apc's and main Combat Vehicles to get our Troops close enough to assault the base and capture the Salarian our Vehicles will will wait 5 minutes away from the Weyrloc Compound we will then cover the whole base in White smoke this will conceal our vehicles and make it impossible to hit anything accurately we the Vehicles will put up Suppression fire on the Compound While our Troops Storm the Base 500 Credits and a Promotion to the Krogan that brings me the Salarian Alive and Well I also want to have 2000 and half of our Gunship's to set up up checkpoints around patrols around the compound checking for anyone trying to flee That is all... WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT MAGGOTS GET TO WORK!"
all the officers scurry off to prepare for the Assault

"After an hour of Bombardments the Trenches were turned into Craters the Mines outside the Trenches were turned to dust. "Warlord Torg the Smoke bombardment is about to begin and our vehicles are ready to begin advancing on the Compound at your command Warlord" You could hear in the distance loud booms and big white clouds of smoke Rising from the Compound
"ATTACK!!" A loud sound of Engines Igniting 6000 Krogan Troopers checking their equipment for the last time before battle "Listen up you maggots once we reach the destination we are to disembark Storm the Compound and find the Salarian do I make myself clear! YES BATTLEMASTER, FOR TUCHANKA, FOR CLAN URDNOT AAAAAH! That is what I like hear Rollout

The battle was quick but brutal the Initial bombardment had turned their first line of defense into a heap of rubble the smoke had made it impossible to see the force coming their war all they could do was hear the sounds of the Engines and then a loud boom when the main gate flew wide open and the Warriors of Clan Urdnot Overwhelmed their opponents Fighting was fierce with close quarter combat and grenades being thrown everywhere but in the end 500 Urdnot soldiers laid dead while the 800 of Clan weyrloc laid dead while 300 were captured.
When they found Maelon some krogans started fighting over who found him first but after that was out of the way Maelon was Sent to Warlord Torg.

60.000 Krogan Troopers
480 vehicles, 30,000 troops
74 Artillery pieces, 2500 troops
68 gunship's

Warlord Torg's Personal Tomkah
Torg and Maelon were sitting in front of each other the salarian was mostly torn up by having to leave his research but otherwise he was fine
Torg pushes a few buttons and a Holographic projection of Urdnot Wreav Appears
"This is Maelon he is the Salarian Scientist working on a cure for Clan weyrloc" Urdnot Wreav looks him over then says "Maelon is it you will work for us now you will be given every resource at our disposal or you will die but since you already started i'm thinking you will take the first the only reason you didn't come to us in the first place was because you thought me and Wrex was were alike but unlike him I'm not afraid to do what is right"
Maelon looked a little better hearing that he could continue his work "I thank you Urdnot Wreav what we did to you're people was inexcusable I hope you will forgive us by letting me cure the Genopaghe?"
"you will go down in history as the Salarian that saved the krogan race Torg you will take him to To these coordinates you will be the only one that knows where he will be did you bring his research?
"It's being packed and shipped as we speak I will have it delivered to our camp then further shipped to the coordinates specified"
"Very good and Congratulations on the great victory over Clan Weyrloc Warlord"

Triarch Aleena
Bridge of the Mercy of Illium
Tasale System, Crescent Nebula

"Triarch Aleena, welcome to the Mercy it is our largest ship, though I have noticed that Triarch Shiala had ordered another Dreadnought. There are several other ships we need, but if we are to be a force that even the Citadel doesn't wish to attack, we need more Dreadnoughts." Lexa T'Vels, Fleet Admiral of Illium stated. Triarch Aleena had a datapad with her and was moving things around the screen. "I understand. That's why two more dreadnoughts will be started immediately. Ten more Light Cruisers will be added to the construction orders as well. We need to shore up the smaller ships to support the Dreadnoughts."

Looking over the sudden influx of funds into the construction yards Lexa smiled. "Thank you Triarch, I see you are devoted to building a stronger military for Illium, but I must ask. Why?" Aleena looked straight towards her, "Someone killed my only friend left alive and I will see to it that they die a cursed death."

Apex Ind||Illium||CEO Henry Clinton

Mr.Clinton walked solemnly out of the Illium vessel and looked all around the bustling city around him."Marvelous"he commented to himself as got into the transport that was waiting for him to get on. The Human male stepped inside the shuttle and took his seat. He then got some sound wave headphones and put them on his head so he could listen to so good old classic rock music.

He had his eyes shut most of the time as he listened to his playlists until and felt the shuttle coming to a stop. He excited the shuttle and checked into his hotel room witch had a very fantastic view of the city.

The CEO grabbed the biggest chair he could find and place it so he was facing the large glass windows, looking down at the hustle and bustle of the every day man's life. While admiring the excellent view,Mr.Clinton sent the messages to House Fennec and the Triarchy that he was here.

Chalkhos, Sigurd's Cradle... Month 2

After the first profits had came in the credit snowball would come. Ah snowballing, once it starts getting bigger it keeps going until no snow is left. But now instead of snow which would be melted in this eternal heat these were credits which don't melt... most of the time. After the real initial success of the colony many more people and corporations were interested in moving into Chalkhos and setting up shops or industry on the planet. Of course to run them indentured servants would be used by many and they would need a place or of course places to stay. So an urban area would be set up so the servants could live near their jobs and more businesses could be set up and taxed. But also in a lucky reveal more mineral wealth was discovered on the hot house of a planet and 2 major mining complexes would be in the works for a month.

Within the government however it was becoming clear a special operations group would be needed for security of the government and various projects. The members would take a good few months to find and an elite operative to lead them would be even harder to find and get to join on but it could be done. Luckily around this time some of the ships were getting finished namely the assault landers which were going to be put in reserves. Illium also seemed to be a good prospect for trading as it was their lifeblood as the city between the Terminus and Citadel space. So a message for trading was sent to the Illium trade council for a meeting between a representative of Saer Kalo and whoever they chose of course. The representative would also bring the products and chemical make-up of the drugs and their genetic modifications.

To Illium Trade Council
From the independent human colony of Saer Kalo

Hello,
The colony of Saer Kalo and it's current corporations have noticed growing profits in our colony and with this vast increase in products we would like to open up trade in your vast markets. What we wish to be selling is various types of drugs and entertainment products and a few of our corporations will bring indentured servants from time to time but our representative will explain more if you allow him to speak about a trading relationship.

Good Day

Tuchanka, Outer Wastes
Clan Jekrax Stronghold

Image

"YOU SPINELESS PYJAK! I INVOKE THE RITE OF CHALLENGE!" The final roar echoed throughout the ruinous structure as hundreds of males began to growl and stomp in a deafening cacophony. This structure, once a school or meeting hall at one time was now the headquarters of Clan Jekrax and housed over forty thousand seasoned warriors along with fifteen thousand females. In its vehicles bays it contained one hundred and fifteen Tomkahs and several hundred crates of various types of weaponry that had recently been delivered by House Fennec smugglers. While not an impressive amount it was compensated with the alliance they had made with recently with Clan Weyrloc and Clan Gatatog. One of which had recently requested their aid and was summarily destroyed in little over two hours. The rapid assault was unprecedented in scope giving little to no warning of its build up or attack. Some claimed over one hundred thousand Krogan had led the charge against House Weyrloc while others purported it was two hundred thousand. Such mass wave attrition based attacks had not been done since the start of the Genophage and for good reason. With Krogan numbers being so low every Krogan was needed in order to maintain a viable population size. The fact that Clan Urdnot had sent its troops in with such abandon meant that they either had the numbers or lacked the brains needed to conduct a military campaign. However, what was of most concern to all Clans on Tuchanka was the demand by Clan Urdnot that all should kneel and swear fealty to him. Such a demand caused great debates among the clans and this challenge was in response to that order. A battlemaster by the name of Bragore thought that Clan Jekrax should bend the knee and join up with what appeared to be the strongest Clan to further the name of Clan Jekrax. Bragore was an experienced battlemaster that had seen action under various mercenary companies during his youth and fought for several more on Tuchanka. He commanded the respect of over two hundred Krogan and was known for his love of broad-axe and shotgun. The Salarians gave him the code name "Whirl-a-Gig" due to his proclivity for jumping into the midst of enemy formations while repeatedly swinging his axe in a 360 degree arc. A noted warrior and a respected battlemaster this 'Bragore' was one of the top contenders for the title of Warlord of Clan Jekrax. So as he waited for his challenge to be accepted he grabbed his axe from its sling on its back a took a large swig of his own personal canteen of ryncol.

As he finished the last drop of the burning brown liquid the once raucous room had become silent and staring down from the second floor was a Krogan of immense size holding in one hand a steel barrel of some sort and the other a claymore made from junkyard scrap. Lifting the barrel in one clean motion he raised back his head and began to empty the contents of the barrel into his mouth in rapid fashion. After several minutes the barrel was emptied and with a roar he hurled the barrel down over the railing one handed screaming in defiance, "THE RITE OF CHALLENGE IS ACCEPTED!" Standing several feet behind him the Clan's shaman strode to Taxxa's left with a bone staff in his hand. Holding up his hands into the air the Clan's chief stated, "With the Rite of Challenge being accepted the two combatants shall face each other in the pit with naught but their fists and their heads. To the winner shall go the title of Warlord and to the loser shall go the disgrace of defeat. Let the Rite commence!" The Clan roared its agreement as the two Krogan headed towards the Varren pit with weapons in hand. Both Krogan were swaggering as they made their way slowly to the pit. As they neared the sunken hole many Krogan could see the huge discrepancy in height between the two. While Bragore was slightly around 8 feet in height his opponent was easily somewhere around 10 feet. So as the two dropped their weapons and lowered themselves into the pit many of the Krogan began to place bets on to who would win the upcoming brawl. Soon circles began to form around several figures who held paper notes ,in lieu of credits, in the air and were screaming the odds in chaotic fashion to the uproarious crowds surrounding them. The two Krogan in the rectangular, dirt pit faced off against the other on opposite sides with their heads leaning out and spittle flying wildly. "I WILL CRUSH YOU INTO THE GROUND YOU INSIGNIFICANT PYJAK," roared Bragore as he clenched his fists and began to stamp his feet into the rocky clay. "NUFF TALKING. MORE FIGHTING," yelled back Taxxa as he slowly crouched down into a ramming position with his assuming a runners position with one arm in front of the other.

The crowd then turned away from the bookies and began to surround the pit as the shaman reached the edge of the newly created arena. Raising his staff and in a gruff tone he roared, "LET THE RITE COMMENCE!" As the last notes of his his voice echoed around the vast structure the two Krogans thundered into action. Taxxa was the first into the fray as he charged forward with his head lowered and his arms pumping at his side as he rocketed the few feet between in seconds. Bragore simply braced for the impact as best he could with his arms outstretched and his head lowered to receive the charge. With a huge crack Taxxa slammed his skull onto his opponents head and roared as Bragore flew several feet backwards into the compacted clay wall with a dazed look. Shaking his head in the vain attempt of lessening the spinning of the pit around him Bragore pushed himself from the wall and threw a savage left hook at Taxxa. The blow took Taxxa by surprise and took him squarely in the jaw forcing him to stumble slightly to the right. Gaining back some momentum Bragore attempted to follow that hit up with a sloppy uppercut with his right though Taxxa would dodge the blow by leaping backwards. This would throw Bragore slightly off balance as the expected impact of his fist never came. Taxxa would then charge forward again as he had down before but this time he tackled Bragore's mid section and slammed him down into the rocky clay.

At this point the fight became a jumbled mess of biting, punching, and wrestling as the two squirmed with one another in the attempt to gain a position of strength. It was this fighting that would favor Bragore as his stockier build and years of melee experience would allow him to negate Taxxa's advantage of range due to height. With repeated knees to the gut and a few well placed elbow strikes to the face Bragore sat astride Taxxa and proceeded to strike him repeatedly in the face. Left, right, left right. Each blow landed with thunderous applause as the crowd cheered in what appeared to be a victory for Bragore. Those who supported Taxxa hurled vitriol down to Taxxa in order to shame him into some action that would see their pockets filled rather than emptied in a few moments. In response to the crowd Bragore lifted his two fists in the air in preparation for the final blow. It was at this point that a bloodied Taxxa would slam his head directly into Bragores chest knocking the wind out of him and causing him to lower his hands to his chest. Taxxa then grabbed Bragore and hurled him off with a savage twist to his right. In the same motion he rose up and strode towards the heaving Bragore laying prostrate on the ground. With a blood curdling scream Taxxa proceeded to stomp, smash, and trample the prone Bragore with abandon as the onlookers proceeded to chant his name. "Taxxa, Taxxa, Taxxa..." they yelled with each repeatition getting a little bit louder until at the very end of the crescendo the sound of violence ended and the bloodied pulp that was Bragore was not moving anymore. The only indication that Bragore was still living was the slight heaving of his chest and the sporadic twitching of his left leg. Taxxa glanced at the prone Bragore and with a slight sneer stated, "Clan Jekrax bows before no one." He then scrambled up the sides of the pit and was helped out by a crowd of adoring Krogan still chanting his name with fervor. Several of these Krogans gave him hearty slaps on the back and snarls of approval. It was at this point the bookies proceeded to collect their debts and spread around the pool to the winners. This was not the first challenge that Taxxa had won and it would not be his last. Hobbling back to his quarters on the second floor Taxxa grumbled something about needing more barrels of ryncol. The Rite of Challenge was completed and as several Krogan lifted the unconscious body of Bragore from the pit the Clan's shaman nodded towards the recovery crew allowing them to take Bragore to the medical station for treatment. He was a worthy opponent and a good fighter. He would continue to be both for Clan Jekrax.

Several hours after the fight Taxxa was nursing a major headache as he laid down on his cot in haphazard fashion with puddles of ryncol pooling around him. "Warlord Taxxa," grunted a nearby guard, "a messenger has arrived from Clan Hoskar and Clan Forsan. Should I allow the scum to approach your quarters?" Groaning with discomfort from both the ryncol and the pounding he took by Bragore he nodded his assent and tried to sit up in some threatening manner. It would not look good for a Warlord to look weak to his opponents messengers even though he had little to fear from that coward Panaki and the elderly Trand. Then in walked four heavily armored Krogan in emerald and gold. Emerald represented Clan Hoskar and the gold was of Clan Forsan. They were all armed with similar weaponry that looked almost exactly like the recent shipment they had purchased from the humans. "Greetings Warlord Taxxa of Clan Jekrax. We represent those Warlords who refuse to bow to the fools of Clan Urdnot. We have come to Clan Jekrax to offer something that we have not offered the other minor clans. A joint partnership with Clan Hoskar and Forsan. You will have full command of your troops and those of your sub vassals and will be informed of our troop movements against Clan Urdnot. Thus if you desire to join in a battle it will be at your own discretion and you will be forced into nothing. What say you Warlord Taxxa?" His head was pounding as he tried to think out what was being said. Something about an alliance and fighting against Clan Urdnot. Out of the shadows of the room a Krogan in the dark purple of Jekrax with a missing eye grumbled, "Warlord Taxxa accepts this offer and will send a detachment of scouts in the morning to asses the defenses of a Clan Urdnot ally in the area." The messengers nodded their understanding and with a dull thud they slammed their fists against their chest and left the small spartan like room. Battlemaster Torak then took a knee next to his Warlord. Taxxa just waved him forwards with a grunt and Torak simply nodding as he left the room and set up the scouting party. Not to mention they would need to establish secure lines of communication and supply between their new allies. "The Triumvirate of Tuchanka" whispered Battlemaster Torak as he descended the stairway. Hopefully this would slow down the juggernaut that was Clan Urdnot.

Turian Hierarchy- Month 2

Primarch Fedorian visited the various planets that were in the Hierarchy in order to inspect them and make sure they were up to Turian standards. He was quite pleased with what he saw. The standard of living was excellent, as usual, and the Turian's militaristic society was maintained.

Meanwhile, infrastructure was being built on two other planets (Aephus and Digeris), while the 20 infantry divisions and the new Spectre were still in training on Palaven. After the Primarch returned the Palaven, he had decided to focus a bit more on the navy this month, as well as infrastructure in order to increase how much money the Turians were making. The next great expansion of the military would come next month. Hopefully by then, the final preparations for the invasion could be made. Fedorian did not want to delay this invasion any longer than was necessary, as he wanted the Geth to have little time to prepare.

The first shipments of weapons, such as rifles, artillery, etc. had begun arriving on Tuchanka. The Turians used the battlestations in orbit around the planet that they manned to smuggle the weapons in. However, Turians that were already deployed on the planet's surface had reported about a battle between Clan Urdnot and Clan Weyrloc. Fedorian saw this as an opportunity to send in more Turian forces and allow them to gain some combat experience, but he was too late- the battle was apparently over.

Nevertheless, the Primarch still sent out a to Urdnot Wrex:

Tevos frowned as she walked into the office. She had been a Councilor a decent time before Sparatus was one, so she knew the Turian well and thus was allowed to be rather blunt with him. She stood before him a few feet away, hand's clasped behind her back and standing tall with all the grace she could muster from her hundreds of years in the political elite, looking right into the Turian's eyes. "Why are the Turian's undertaking a massive military build up, Sparatus? Don't try to deny it either, Turian's aren't known for the subtlety. We should have been informed of this!" She said in a rather icy, but professional tone, more like a mother scolding a child.

To: Asari Ambassador
From: Ambassador Zaltan of the Elcor Courts

Our most humbled greetings to the Asari Republics. I speak for all Elcors when I say, we have not forgot the Asari's part in helping us joining the Intergalatic community, which we are infinitely proud to be a part of. The Elcor has since played a small, but nonetheless, important part in contributing to the Council and to the world. Now once again the Asari Republics has a chance to help our people.

In light of the recent attack on the Citadel, the Elcor has come to believe that the passiveness in our past policies can no longer benefit the Elcor people. For the first time in history, we are ready to take preemptive action to expand Elcor's, and by extension the Council's influence in the galaxy. But to do this, our people require a place to take root and to grow. We need a new world to colonize. But as you may understand, for our people to thrive we require a planet with highly specific conditions, the type which the Council may not currently possess. In response, High Elder Makani- leader of the Elcor Courts, has recently put up a plan for an expedition to find new world for our people.

This colony is a chance for both the Elcor and the Council to grow into something more powerful. We are ready to arrange talks with your representatives at your convenience.

Our most gracious thanks

Councilor Tevos is currently busy attending meetings. However if you wish to discuss this rather radical shift in the Elcor you are free to do so. Attached to this file are the times she has available for meetings for the next week. We are certain the Republic will be more then happy to aid our long lasting friends.

Citadel, Serpent Nebula

Sparatus closed the door to his office and listened as the Asari questioned him. When she was done, Sparatus then realized that this was the first time he had even been questioned about this military buildup. Nevertheless, he knew he could not betray Fedorian.

I promise, Fedorian and his crazy plans are going to get me fired from this job one day, Sparatus thought. He knew he would have to make something up.

"The Turian's are simply trying to rebuild what we lost during the Battle of the Citadel," Sparatus replied. "The Primarch, however, wants to go above and beyond to uhhh...make sure a situation like that never happens again."

OPERATION VARUS

Image

Palaven, Cipritine
Main Spaceport

"A book tour huh," inquired the Turian Customs agent suspiciously as he glanced up and down at his newest irritation that day. "Yes sir, in fact if you would like I can provide you with a signed copy, " quipped the Salarian standing before him dressed in a dark brown tweed suit. A suit that he had recently purchased during his Systems Alliance portion of the tour on at a bespoke tailor on Earth. It had cost him a pretty credit but one could not skimp on style when one was a famous Salarian book writer. Giving the Salarian a quizzical look he watched as the stick like figure began to rummage in a large leather satchel and in moments he pulled out a data pad and in one fluid moment pulled up his book on the data pad's display. "And to who should I make this out to?" The Turian was caught slightly off guard by this action but his demeanor hardly showed it as he said, "Make it out to my wife Baetina. She always enjoys reading a good book. Though I did not ask what kind of book you have written Mr.?" "Kirrahe. The book if you are interested to learn about my good sir is a study of Salarian military tactics during the Rachni Wars. It focuses mainly during the time period before Turian and Krogan involvement. It is a riveting read that I hope both you and your wife enjoy reading." At this last statement he gave a slight wink to the agent and sent a digital copy to the Turian with his signature on it. Giving a smug expression the Turian then pressed several keys on the monitor in front of him and Kirrahe entered the next portion of the security process. Nodding his head in appreciation towards the Turian the Salarian proceeded past the checkpoint whistling an old Salarian nursery rhyme as he surveyed his surroundings. So far, so good, he thought as he straightened his gold tie. He could not understand why he had to wear such an article of clothing around his neck but the human tailor had assured him that the suit would be incomplete without it. Fiddling with the tie he glanced to his left towards a reflective steel pillar and was able to glimpse some smudge of a figure following ten feet behind him. Damn it. He had thought that the cover story created by STG would have been sufficient to get him through at least the first three check points. They had spent a small fortune in falsifying his documents, creating fake itineraries, fabricating various stories by several reputable news outlets, and hell they even wrote and published an actual book! It wasn't half bad of a book either according to several critics on Sur'Kesh and Earth. To already have a follower at this early of a stage was something that he was not prepared for. Nearing the next checkpoint he slowly tightened his grip on the satchel to his side and prepared to make a run for the nearby janitorial corridor to his left. "Sir, sir. Excuse me sir?" The voice behind him seemed to be of a Turian. Male. Around the age of twenty to thirty galactic years old. Turning around slowly he prepared himself for a gun to the face or a dour faced army officer. Instead he was greeted by a grinning Turian with a data pad in hand. "I couldn't help but overhear at the check point that you are the author of How the Salarians Held the Line Against the Rachni. I just wanted to say that I greatly enjoyed your book and wanted to ask if I could get you to sign my copy and perhaps take a picture?" If Salarians could sweat Kirrahe would have been drenched as he mentally decompressed his fears and anxieties away. Giving a playful grin he stated, "Of course I can give you a signed copy sir." With a small scribble he signed the Turians data pad and the two posed as a fellow traveler took a picture of the two. With the picture complete the Salarian gave a toothy smile and proceeded towards the next check point. It was at this point he felt some sort of metal encase his left wrist and a slight click sound. Looking down at his wrist he was greeted by a metal band that locked him in place. attached to the other band was the adoring Turian fan. "While I did enjoy your book sir. I am going to have to ask you to come with me as you have been selected for a random security screening."

"Bugger me," whispered Kirrahe. One hour on the planet and he was already being courted by Turian security.

Illium, Nos Astra, Eternity Lounge

"I am always ready my sweet Asari commando. Wherever your heart leads I shall follow as your devoted servant. Your Pancho to your Don Quixote, your Lancelot to your King Arthur, your..." It was at this last profession that the Asari glowered slightly at the impetuous Salarian spectre. "Got it. To the mission at hand then." Following his companion Asari he took three great gulps of some sort of Asari liquor and proceeded to throw the empty glass towards the nearest waitress. Pulling out his omni-tool he finished the last security wipe making sure that no one would be able to know the two were there. Pressing several of the buttons in rapid succession he proceeded to surf the extranet in order to gain as much information on this Liara T'soni. Walking down the narrow corridors outside of the lounge the Salarian walked side by side with Tela Vasir. Giving her for the first time that night a serious expression he asked "So what is our next move?"

COUNCIL OF MINISTERS, FORTRESS OF JUSTIFIABLE ARROGANCE

KHAR’SHAN

Standing in the midst of a steadily scrolling wall of holographic numbers – most of them red – the Minister of the Economy, Garh’Ahal, Archon Shek Batar (Caste of the Illuminated Hierophant), delivered what was probably his political death sentence to the pack of greedy and ambitious little pyjaks known as his colleagues. Unless, of course, it happened to work. And it could.

“Fellow enlightened ministers,” he began, weary voice crackling slightly in the dry air. “As fellow heritors of the Sublime Reaches of the Caste Tree, as laid down in the Fourth Pillar, I hereby invoke the Seventeenth Protocol of Honesty. Let all words be thrice truthful and sublimely real as befits the Commandments of the Fourth Prophet of the Fourth Age who laid down these divine laws as directed by our Supreme Guide. Let all reckonings be honest and honourable.”

The Seventeenth Protocol was, in his own opinion, a masterstroke. Bastards would have to be straight with him.

“With that in mind, let us begin. As Minister of the Economy, I have grave news to impart to you. Brace yourselves, for it is not good. In short, the economy is nearing collapse. Our currency is constantly hyperinflating, driven by huge-scale hoarding of resources. Reserves of Citadel-issue credits are all but depleted. Trade is plummeting, and the Terminus is no longer enough to fuel our stagnant markets. Cash circulation is at an all-time low, as the noble castes are too afraid to invest. Capital gains are minimal at best. Although in real terms the GDP is slowly growing at a completely unacceptably low – but noticeable – rate, as soon as one adjusts for inflation one realizes that it’s constantly contracting. In-work poverty rates are ludicrously high. And although all citizens are allocated jobs, functional unemployment – where people have work but produce no capital – is at almost 30%.

Slave revolts are increasing in quantity because nobody can feed them, and as a result of the miserable economic climate birth rates are approaching zero. Almost half of the Hegemony’s population is made up of slaves, while the cities are full of youth with no work being paid pointless welfare cheques worth absolutely nothing by the government. The quiescent plebeians and their inferiors grow restive, and there is only one way that this fiscal climate can lead us. My colleague, the Minister of State Security, has passed on reports. Liberalism and – worse – egalitarianism - are increasingly popular, considering that in the eyes of the average citizen the Hegemony, product of God’s Final Revelation, is non-functional.

In short, unless we fix our economy within the near future, we can expect insurrection, social warfare, and collapse within the space of our lifetimes.”

Silence reigned over the table. The other ministers simply stared. It was, of course, something that they knew. But telling it to them made it true for them.

Sitting on the opposite side of the table, Dahn’Esel, Minister of Welfare and Entitlement, asked the question on everyone’s mind.

“And what, Honoured Minister, do you intend to do in order to remedy this situation?”

Here was the truly tricky part.

“We get a development loan from the Asari.”

Dead silence. Complete, absolute, total silence. Not a word was said. Bravely, the Minister pushed onwards.

“To be frank, at this point the Batarian State Credit is, as a currency, completely worthless. No corporation would accept any payments in it because it will instantly devaluate. No workers would fully accept it for the same reasons. If we are to pay for anything, we’ll need to do it in a stable and trustworthy currency. That would be Citadel-issued Standard Credits. The bankers of Irune and Thessia are a cautious bunch and keep it rock-steady. Regretfully, at this point it’s the only thing worth using.
The Salarians know too much about us and would never send us a loan. The Turians don’t know enough about us and hate us for it. Humans know nothing about anything and detest everyone. The Asari, though, are reasonable. They would, given the right incentives, be willing to cut a deal. And with that deal, we could fix our nation.
With the acquisition of Citadel currency, a trustworthy financial source, we could engage in a huge series of public works projects. With such a monumental cash injection which would travel directly into stimulus, we could restore popular confidence, reduce in-work unemployment, forcibly grow the economy, and ultimately stabilize the BSC. The government’s total revenue would skyrocket, leaving us in a perfect state to pay back our loan – plus interest – within a month.”

He paused.

“Short of an Asari loan, I can’t think of a single method of revitalizing our economy and saving the Hegemony.”

“Are you insane?”

The response came, predictably enough, from Canth’Eshor, Minister for War.

“Our military should be the target of reform and capital, not some silly ventures with Asari creds and heathens. We’ve never recovered from the losses we sustained during the Blitz – we don’t have any armoured units, our infantry is pathetically small, there are no transport ships, and no carriers. Almost all our troops are slaves or raw recruits. Our planetary defense grids are worthless and have been pillaged for scrap by low-caste scum. All it would take would be for the Turians to notice our weakness and the Sublime Union would be destroyed. Capital injections are worthless when our very existence and our entire holy mission is under threat of destruction.”

That opened the floodgates for a huge wave of argumentative bickering. Within moments, the Ministers were in a state of utter chaos, hurling epithets and insults. Bound by the Seventeenth Protocol, they were required – and, in fact, psychologically conditioned – to say exactly what they thought about each other as clearly as possible. Insults ranged from the political – handling of cases, accusations of bad will – to the personal – who slept with whose cousins, who was a Red Sand-snorting junkie, who had signed their family fortune over to an illegitimate child born to an Asari slave. Nothing would be accomplished that day. Which, in fact, fitted Garh’Ahal’s purposes perfectly. As per tradition, anything which had not been openly shut down by the Seventeenth Hour, That of Reflection, was automatically considered to be policy. And there was no real case that any other Ministers had for shutting his actions down – they had no power over the dealings of the Ministry of the Economy, regardless of what those dealings actually entailed. They could do nothing.

Of course, the Autarch could do something. That was his purpose, after all – providing a holistic perspective to issues. Unfortunately, the ruler matched the state of his domain. And he’d been brain-dead for over sixty years. Resting in a permanent coma, his decaying body was propped up at its traditional desk at the head of the Ministerial table, ringed by arrays of life-support machines keeping him from clinical death. As per tradition, one could not replace an Autarch. Autarchs were succeeded, not replaced. One could also never kill an Autarch, as there was no procedure for the killing of the casteless in the Pillars. So the Autarch mouldered while the Hegemony mouldered with him.

Not that Garh’Ahal minded, really. The Autarch would have never approved of his scheme. It wasn’t traditional. Tradition was not only a way of life, but a weapon. The average person just didn't understand that. And the Autarch never did at all.

At present, few Batarian corporations operated offworld. However, Gahr’Ahal owned one of them – Denarahai Industrial, a corporation which manufactured cheap omni-tools on Ilium and distributed them through Citadel Space through dozens of shell companies and front businesses. Through that, he could personally contact the Matriarch Nyxemi and through her secure a loan.

And, of course, he’d use one of the oldest Batarian traditions that there was to insure the success of his venture.

Bribery.

Matriarch Alenia Nyxemi,

I, Gahr’Ahal, Archon Shek Batar, Heritor of the House of Ahal, and Minister of the Economy in service of the exalted Autarch, He Who Is Beyond Caste, salute you as my superior in caste and in soul. I am at your service and have both a favour to ask from and a gift to proffer for Your Majestic Self.

At present, the Batarian economy has entered a period of temporary difficulty caused by assorted devils, egalitarians, and wreckers who agitate beyond their stations and ultimately seek only to wreak havoc and destroy the natural order of the world, disregarding both tradition and wisdom. As a result, we find ourselves in sudden need of foreign currency in order to overcome such troubles and return to our proper and regular state of prosperity, peace, and social order.

The Hegemony would, as a result, be extremely grateful for a generous loan from the Asari Republics of exactly 207.5 billion Citadel Credits (OOC: 415 Credits) to be delivered immediately to the Hegemony for the purpose of economic investments, to be paid back within the span of 3 months with a compounding interest rate of 20% per month. This ensures that at the very least the Republics will make a 20% profit on the venture, enriching the economy immensely.

Such a loan would be immensely appreciated, and would probably spark among the Batarian populace the spontaneous elevation of Asari from the servile castes to higher levels, at which they would be free to leave the Hegemony should they wish and visit their homes.

As for the favour which I offered, the Sub-Ministry for Customs, Trade, and Import recently intercepted an illegally acquired Asari freighter while at market over Camala. The ship was impounded and, after investigation, was revealed to be owned by a corporation which you have a controlling stake in. Along with the completely unharmed crew, we wish to return this vessel and its total cargo to you, along with the criminals who seized it. This act is entirely without conditions and is merely a recognition of the respect which you are owed.

Many within our great society look favourably towards the Asari Republics. After all, every year dozens of Asari are born through unions between high-caste Archons and servile-caste Asari into the very highest levels of power within our nation, and we have a great deal of appreciation for the respect the Asari people accord towards their natural betters. Even though your race is entirely made up of infidels, you are not nearly so abhorrent as others.

We, the Batarian People, and I, your humble servant, salute you.

Cipritine, Palaven, Apien Crest

The Salarian STG agent thought he was secure. He thought he could make it through the checkpoints with no problems, but was he was horribly wrong. The Turian's weren't stupid or naive. They had noticed Kirrahe arrived at the Cipritine Spaceport. A Salarian was a very rare sight on Palaven, so they knew that there was something shady going on. After all, the Turian's knew that other species would want to know why they were doing this massive military buildup, and Primarch Fedorian was willing to use any means necessary to keep it a secret. After the incident that had happened at one of the processing centers in Cipritine, the identity of the man that was shot was discovered. Turns out, the man wasn't good at keeping secrets- the Turian's quickly discovered that he had been working for the STG.

You will stall him as we prepare to bring the bastard in. The Customs Agent kept rethinking the order he had been given by a Turian officer. Although he wasn't used to these kinds of situations, he knew he had to abide by the orders or face severe consequences. So, he stalled Kirrahe, talking about some book he had claimed to right about the Rachni Wars. The agent simply made up some random bullshit- as an example, he didn't even have a wife. As the agent opened the gate and the Salarian strolled past the checkpoint, the agent grinned evily. Hook, line, and sinker.

Now, the final part of the plan had been given the green light. A Turian security guard, dressed as a civilian, approached the Salarian, talking about the book and how he wanted a signed copy and a picture. Once this was all over with, the Turian knew this was the right time, and so he cuffed Kirrahe. The plan was now complete.

Kirrahe was taken to a lower level of the spaceport. Down one of the hallway were some Turian security guards wielding assault rifles. They appeared to be waiting for something.

"He's all yours," the Turian escorting Kirrahe said. He then took the cuffs off of the Salarian, allowing the security guards to grab him. The Salarian was then shoved into a metal room with only a table and some chairs in it, and the thick metal door was slammed and locked.

Systems Alliance Command: Arcturus Space Station

A new day was beginning over planet Earth. Out on Arcturus, the best you could do to see a sunrise was look through one of the vacuum sealed, shielded, and heavily tinted "sunward" windows. It was a great and wondrous sight. It showed just how much there was out in the galaxy, how much freedom, and all of the excitement that came along with it. Yet, for those who were realists in the group, that serene picture was one tainted with blood and despair. Humanity had achieved much, but it came at a time when the human race was radically unprepared for the massive achievements it had gained. The System's Alliance had finally received the pull it needed in the Council, and it was quite understandable that the turians and the batarians were, as a group, rather livid about it. The turians were tied far too much to their traditions to in any way as a society fully accept anything new, and the batarian's history with the Alliance was always checkered at best. Only very recently had the border wars between the humans and the batarians calmed down, but tensions were still there.

However, it had been a while since the Alliance lost their most successful agent to the hands of god-knows-what out in the Terminus Systems. A very slim number of survivors were recovered from that wreck. You could practically list them on your hand. Vakarian, Chackwas, Alenko, Moreau, Wrex, Liara, and the Quarian all made it out alive. The Quarian needed severe first aid before she could be released from triage, Moreau had a mental break, and worst of all, humanity's beacon of hope, their light in the darkness... Was gone. With her passing came a month of slow mourning, and recently, everything became monotonous.

Admiral Steven Hackett was responsible for rebuilding the Systems Alliance's navy and marine units. However, the Geth had obliterated everything in the outer colonies, and those that had survived were installations that the geth had left to wither on the vine. Then the was Sovereign. It had already advanced technology so much. There was no telling what it would do now, how new discoveries would alter the face of warfare for the rest of time.

Triarch Selas Lismir
Nos Selas, Illium
Tesale System, Crescent Nebula

With the Apex Industries representative in Nos Selas, a message is sent to him to come to the Triarch's residence for the meeting. She had prepared her lounge for the meeting with the Apex Industries rep. She noticed another message incoming, but passed it along to Shiala. She couldn't take all of them now. She continued ordering supplies for the colony forming on Ponolus. It needed to be upgraded to handle shipbuilding to the maximum.

Triarch Shiala
Nos Astra, Illium
Tesale System, Crescent Nebula

A forwarded message hits her command board. She looked it over and smiled, a faction wished trade with Illium. She sent a reply.

To:The Independent Human Colony of Saer Kalo
From: Triarch Shiala of Illium

I would welcome your representative to come and discuss trade relations. I have an office in Nos Astra that would serve as the location for this meeting. I look forward to meeting your representative.

The next several minutes comprised of Shiala ordering things for Illium with the command board until she noticed that Aleena had already authorized starships to be built. Laughing to herself, she realized that with two former Asari Commandos in the Triarchy their military strength will increase substantially. She quickly sent orders to build up the colony worlds around the Crescent Nebula. They would need them to be producing at maximum capacity to build a military strong enough to make Illium the seat of an empire.

Month 2 Income: 723(Illium) + 491(Tarith) + 339(Helyme) + 10 (Omega Major Spaceport connection) + 60 (2 Trading Partners) + 30 Base = 1653 Credits + 1.8 Credits Remaining = 1654.8 Credits

Level 1 Defense Guns -50
Helyme:

2 Major Mining Facilities -60
1 Shipyard -50

Councilor Tevos is currently busy attending meetings. However if you wish to discuss this rather radical shift in the Elcor you are free to do so. Attached to this file are the times she has available for meetings for the next week. We are certain the Republic will be more then happy to aid our long lasting friends.

To: Office of Councilor Tevos
From: Ambassador Zaltan of the Elcor Courts

Our most sincere gratitude to your speedy respond. We of course, understand that Councilor Tevos is a busy woman and would not wish to impose. We have booked a meeting with the Councilor on one of the available time slot next week. I am looking forward to discussing the matter further then.

To: Office of Councilor Valern
From: Ambassador Zaltan of the Elcor Courts

The Elcor give our greetings and our thanks to the Salarian Union. I speak for both the people and High Elder Makani when I say we are very excited about the possibility of this collaboration. With Salarian help, we can only imagine what improvements Elcor's combat VIs will achieve and how much more our soldiers will be able to contribute to The Council.

Enclosed in this e-mail is the time and place for our next meeting on Dekuuna where High Elder Makani will personally discuss the terms of this project with your representatives. Please include the names of personnel you will be sending to our homeworld in your reply.

Our most sincere gratitude.

The representative who had been given permission to watch for a message back and then reply noticed the response come from one of the Triarchs of Illium. Aparently the Asari was named Shiala.

To:The Independent Human Colony of Saer Kalo
From: Triarch Shiala of Illium

I would welcome your representative to come and discuss trade relations. I have an office in Nos Astra that would serve as the location for this meeting. I look forward to meeting your representative.

Al quickly typed up a reply and ordered to have his ship prepared for takeoff.

To: Triarch Shiala of Illium
From: Independent Human Colony of Saer Kalo

Excellent our representative will be on his way and their shortly.

After that was done Al hurriedly walked over to one of the corvettes they allowed him to take that had been packed up with the products they would need to possibly show some people so they would be allowed to sell them. Getting into the ship with the crew and soon taking off towards Illium and the Triarch Shiala.

Soon enough they had arrived at the planet after at most a few boring hours a message was sent for permission to land/dock. After they were allowed to land after what might have been a slight scan Al sent a quick message saying he had arrived and was ready to talk. The sight of the city was marvelous and awe inspiring as sky cars fly all through the air and a bit of a refined neon glow emerged from the buildings.

Triarch Shiala
Nos Astra, Illium
Tesale System, Crescent Nebula

Shiala is told that the Saer Kalo representative had arrived in Nos Astra. She sent a message inviting him to meet with her immediately. She had prepared refreshments for the representative. She had worked with Humans in the past and knew a great deal of their customs. As a Triarch of Illium, Shiala had to use all of her skills to secure new trade agreements.

Triarch Aleena
Asari Commando Training Center, Nos Astra, Illium
Tesale System, Crescent Nebula

The new commando units were coming along nicely. Aleena needed them to be ready soon. She wanted to take her revenge on Urdnot Wreav before he became too powerful on Tuchanka. She would need only four Commando Units to feel comfortable in the task. Until then however, she would start overseeing the training programs personally. She turned back towards a group of recruits nearing the end of their training. They were young enough to be her daughters, if she had ever chosen to have children. Instead, Aleena had chosen not to have a family and to act as a mercenary in the Terminus. It wasn't too late for her if she chose to still have children. Any children she had would surely be put into a position of power on Illium within the next couple of centuries.

Search, Salvage, and Rescue of the Merchant Vessel "Quivis"
>>>Marine Squad Khela-7, Commanded by Captain Kor'Zalis<<<
>>Planet Aite, Roughly 8:30 P.M. Planetside<<

The shuttle landed hummed downward towards the source of the huge cloud of black smoke ascending into the atmosphere of Aite. The five Quarians on board; the Captain, a Corporal, a Sergeant, another Sergeant, and the Pilot. All were a bit nervous about the size of this crash, even Kor was, even though it was something he had certainly seen before. But seeing a vessel this large, the smoke arising from it, and knowing it was of your own kin was downright....harrowing. They didn't know how many were on board, or how many had survived. If any did.

The shuttle touched down in an open area amidst the smoking metals and scrap, immediately running scans on the crash site. This shuttle was not like the staple Kodiak shuttles the Systems Alliance and other human organizations use; it was of Quarian design, uniquely enough. Featuring a rounder shape than the Kodiak and a wider area for the pilot to function, this shuttle was rarer than the Kodiak models, but incredibly maneuverable. It's weaponry included machine guns mounted at the side doors, like its human counterparts, but also a separate arc round cannon, able to shut down mechanical machines that are weak enough, and deal some damage all it's own, courtesy of a Special Projects development a number of years back.

"Captain, scans are offline. Electrical interference and the smoke from the crash are interfering with all groundside scanners." The pilot said with a trained and only-slightly annoyed tone from the cockpit, all while a haptic interface dashboard flashed in Khelish exclaiming something along the lines of "Unavailable" to his side.

"Going in blind then, Captain? Nothing we haven't done before, right?" The Corporal said, looking at Zalis through a white mask.

"It seems so. Let's get moving, if there are any survivors amidst this, they'll want safety as soon as possible." Kor stated, heaving a side door of the shuttle open. "Everyone remember, the score stays the same. Lives over material, save everyone that is alive. Salvage is secondary." The Captain commanded, attaching his Sabre to the magnetic grips on his back, and jumping a small drop onto the dusty and smoky ground of the crash site. These suits were a damn good thing sometimes.

The rest of the squad followed suit, all keeping weapons holstered until needed. A very brief static bellowed from their in-helmet communicators, followed by a slightly interfered voice of the Quarian pilot.

"Captain, I'm taking back to hovering the crash site. I'll try to bring the scanners back online and search for life signs. I'll keep in touch as well as possible." The pilot stated with an affirmative tone, before the brief whooshing sound of the shuttle taking further flight over the wreckage graced them.

"Copy that, we'll be listening." Kor responded, motioning forward with two fingers to begin combing the site. They entered an airlock of the ship; half stuck-open with spasming electronics causing it to continually try to close, but remaining stuck on a pillar of metal lodged through it. The team of four entered there, beginning their rescue mission.

Cil'Quinil nar Kunitch, a young Quarian travelling on Pilgrimage.
Current Location: The Freezing Side of Suen, in the Maskim Xul System.
>>>STATUS UNKNOWN<<<

It was cold. Very, very cold.

The young Quarian, just now awakening from an unconsciousness not of his own doing, found that feeling to cover him. His small ship, around the size of a gunship but in different size and much less weaponry, now lay cloaked in a blanket of powdery snow. It was a landing, not a safe one by any means however. If it wasn't for the Quarian's quick controls, it would have been very explosive.

How he ended up here was a mystery, though. From what he could remember, there was a malfunction in something.....the engine? The fuel....? Cil couldn't remember for the life of him, all he could really feel right now is a chill more severe than any he felt before. The young man let out a discomforted groan as he pushed himself up from what seemed to be the console of the ship's small "bridge". It was angled downward slightly, but not enough to hinder his movement.

As the Quarian worked his way to his feet, he had time to examine the damage. The bridge's glass was broken, a lot of it was on the ground near his feet. The power seemed to be completely down, at least from what he could tell from the lone light on the console flashing a symbol that meant just that: "No power". And he felt an even more intense freezing feeling in his left arm. He looked down to see it and....no. No, no, no, no. A tear graced all up his forearm, the suit's fibers shredded in an almost uniform fashion down up to his elbow. Thank Keelah no skin was broken; he'd probably be dead already. He quickly looked around himself; no other tears, luckily. Just the huge one on his arm presumably caused by a shard of glass.

Snow had begun to cloak the bridge and the corridor behind it almost entirely. Just how long was he out?

He slowly eased his way back to the corridor....but it was of no luck. Metal wires still sparking with electricity block his way, along with metal beams from the ceiling. No way getting through there.

The ship was getting colder, and he was nearly freezing, he felt. Cil had no other choice but to venture out into the snowy wasteland. His suit's temperature regulator was beginning to fail. He didn't have much time. Easing back to the bridge, Cil slowly climbed out of the gap where a screen of glass used to be, where he would see anything if he was still flying his ship. He hadn't even thought of a name for it yet.

A short drop later, and Cil was on the surface of Suen. And that much colder. Clutching at his right thigh, he felt that chunk of metal there. His Predator, thank Keelah it was still there. On his hip he felt two cylinders; heat sinks. Only three, the first loaded into the pistol. He truly hoped he wouldn't have to use it; he only had so much practice with it.

Deep down inside him, though, something told him that a beast was the last thing he had to worry about.

The Quarian began to slowly tread forward into the distance, shivering audible behind his mask. In his path were oddly shaped footprints amidst the blizzard, a way to mark his path perhaps. They wouldn't last long, not in this snowstorm. He wouldn't last long in this snowstorm. Cil held tightly onto the exposed grey skin on his left arm, trying his best to shield it from the numbing cold. But, in his haste, he did not notice something. In this tear of his suit, a small, small gash was placed upon him. And from that gash, leaked slowly the blue blood of the Quarians.

The Migrant Fleet
Current Location: The Phoenix Massing
Admiral Val'Rias vas Venerim

After the not-so-brief and rather tiring meeting with the rest of the Admiralty, of which something slightly more than nothing was finally accomplished, the Heavy Fleet Admiral was, by all means, exhausted. He took the quickest transport back to the Venerim, of which he then returned to his small quarters in the higher decks. They were not much different from the rest of the quarters on the Dreadnought, but they were....beautiful in their own right. Large tapestries of Quarian art hung on each wall, casting the room in a grand multicolor atmosphere. He managed to procure a set of Asari furnishings as well, luckily enough. A very comfortable place for him, one that was relaxing above all else.

As he lied back on his bed, he let out an exasperated sigh, only to be interrupted by a set of beeps from his Omni.

"Dammit, I told them all to leave me be until-" Val said with annoyance, which quickly changed as he saw the contents of the message, directed to him and him only.

"Keelah."

From: Val
To: Narya

I can't believe it. I haven't seen you in ages! I was so worried, I.....never mind that. I can tell you everything I want to later. There isn't enough to fit into a simple message. I'm still on the same ship.

And I can't believe you still remember our code, Narya.

The Rachni Reborn

Suen

Many think the Rachni dead, extinct. But they are wrong. Beneath the sun scorched, yet freezing surface of the Singing Planet, the Rachni rebuild. Workers dig, chanting harmonies of work and industry. Elsewhere, the Warriors train, singing melodies of war and strength. The larvae, young and songless, sleep soundly to the melodies of the nursemaids. All of these Songs, intertwining into one great masterpiece, are directed by the Mother of them all. The Queen herself, the Mother of Colourful Song. She directs this chorus, watching it ebb and flow. Singing a quiet melody of her own, she happily directed her brood. Soon, the Rachni would rise again, and the Great Song would reach its crescendo.

Suddenly, she heard a note of curiosity and fear. Subconsciously turning her head towards the note, she soothed the warrior that made it, and saw what it saw. An outsider. Soothing the child with warm notes, she instructed it to follow this being, and take it home if it fell.

Credits before purchases- 333 Credits
Purchases- 2 Urban Areas on Suen, 1 Major Industrial Complex, Planetary Fuel Depot, 2 Marine Divisions, Armored Division

Cil had been walking for a bit now, his strength wavering faster and faster. He looked back, he could only see his footprints so far; obscured by the blizzard or simply covered up. Which way was his ship? He forgot already. Beginning to feel a warm feeling on his forearm amidst the cold, he lifted up his hand from it.

"Keelah, no....no no no...." The blood had begun to ooze from the whole wound now, the length of it cloaked in the dark liquid. Cil had begun to give up; he began to feel faint and freezing from the cold....he could bleed out if he fell unconscious. Nothing was out here to save him.....he would have fared better to simply stay and die in his ship. The Quarian fell onto his knees after trying to walk further; he made possibly a mile from his ship, surprisingly enough. His strength was gone though, and the rest of his senses fell as he went into unconsciousness - what he first thought was death - and began to taint the snow around his arm with the blood of Quarians.
