What is COECO ?
The Council of Economic Cooperation is the integrated collective production and planning system of the Leftist Agrarian Revolutionary Union and its allies. The purpose of COECO is to strengthen economic cooperation between LARU members and partners through a more efficient supranational economic planning and management system, a more even distribution of goods, and an improved flow of raw materials between member states.
How does it function ?
Each member state can apply to produce up to three different kinds of goods. The products are then introduced into the collective distribution system of COECO, while any surplus production can be sold for hard currency to countries outside the organisation. Member states also join a customs union and a system of resource pooling where surplus resources are redistributed to where they are needed most.
COECO has a hard currency fund maintained by contributions of member states. The fund aids the establishment of an allocated industry in a member state using imported equipment not yet available within COECO. Minimum annual payments amount to 40 NSD per every inhabitant the country has.
Non-member states can join the Union as Associated members with only two production slots. They will enjoy somewhat more limited rights as members, mainly to limittechnology transfer in the military categories. Associated members are not entitled to economic assistance, gain no access to central planning data of member states.
Production slots
This is a comprehensive list of production slots which can be allocated to a member state. Maximum production slots and their availability are indicated in parentheses (3/4). As already stated, each member can occupy up to three different slots, but only two of them can be in the heavy industry sector. With the expansion of LARU, more slots will become available.
