The Imperial Aerial Transport Corporation was founded on December 12, 1974 with the goal of restoring the nation's aviation industry following the collapse of the Ueda Regime. Following government approval, IATC began domestic charter passenger service in February 1975 and scheduled passenger services in May of the same year. By 1976, IATC had connected all of Sumiyoshi's home islands by air and was slowly expanding its domestic route market. In 1982, IATC absorbed Sumiyoshi Air Lines and was renamed Sumiyoshi Airways. The following year, SAW was declared the nation's flag carrier by the Sumiyoshian Government.

1985 saw the 30th anniversary of SAW's operation of passenger flights. In 1992, SAW moved most of its international and domestic trunk line operations to the new Hisakama International Airport to ease congestion at Kurosawa International Airport. SAW reached a milestone in 2005 when a cumulative total of passengers carried on domestic and international routes reached 750 million. The company went through a complete makeover in 2012 which included the renovation of lounges, aircraft, cabins, a new livery, and uniforms designed by Reira Fujishiro.

Seat Option A (available only on Monteluci A360 aircraft)

Take advantage of our new Business Class suites on our Monteluci A360 fleet. It features a large, comfortable seat with generous legroom that transforms into a 6 foot, fully-flat bed. With a staggered configuration, each suite also has full aisle access. Your suite features a large side table with aan adjustable reading light as well as a full, foldable table perfect for dining and working. Storage space is plentiful, including a special compartment for your shoes. A personal 18-inch, widescreen monitor allows you to access a wide range of entertainment and is also equipped with universal power and USB ports. You can also take advantage of a "do not disturb" light to let us know if you want to enjoy your suite without any interruption.

Seat Option B (available only on select Monteluci A320 aircraft)

Exclusively in use on our Monteluci A320 aircraft, our Business Class cradle seats are specially designed to comfortably and fully support your body as you recline and relax. Be entertained by the wide variety of entertainment available for viewing on your 12-inch touchscreen monitor while dining or working on your large, foldable table. Universal power and USB ports are available as well as an adjustable reading light for when the cabin lights are turned off. A retractable and adjustable partition screen along the aisle allows for increased privacy whenever you wish.

Seat Option C (available only on Monteluci A100 and select Monteluci A320 aircraft)

Found only in our Monteluci A100 and A320 aircraft operating on domestic routes, our Business Class recliners comfortably offer complete support for your body as you relax. Your personal touchscreen entertainment monitors are stowed in the center console along with a large foldable table for dining and working. Universal power and USB ports are also located in your center console. An adjustable reading light is found beside an partition that may be adjusted for more privacy.

It also features a massage function to help relax your muscles. A ottoman is located opposite your seat that may be used as a footrest or extra seating for visitors. Equipped with both a large, adjustable dining/working table and convenient cocktail table, enjoy working and dining with lots of room to spare. Your 25-inch wide monitor allows you to enjoy a wide selection of entertainment options. Universal power and USB ports are located conveniently for your electronics as well as your remote which doubles as a satellite telephone. Special storage compartments for coats and shoes are located on the left side of the entrance to your suite and several other compartments and storage spaces for personal effects and luggage are conveniently located in your console.
