WELCOME TO THE GLOBAL ECONOMICS & TRADE ACCREDITATION AGENCY!

Good day!

The Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency, or GE&TAA for short, is the new face of the GETrax Rating Agency. Since our inception, we have done our level best to provide fair and constructive ratings for storefronts selling a huge range of products, from cars to airliners to tanks. After a long period of inactivity, we have finally completed a second change in management and are now preparing to once more offer you exceptional services. We hope that you will support us through this change. Together with you, we hope to make GE&T a better environment for everyone, whether you are shopping for suitable products, designing and selling items and services, or simply browsing for something interesting.

We would like to thank all those who have assisted us throughout our existence and an organization. Firstly, our sincere gratitude to Heleventia, who began our services to the GE&T community. We are forever in your debt. Secondly, to Ceni, who has faithfully operated and maintained GETrax for the past year. It was you who kept us alive. Thirdly, we would like to thank the GE&T community at large. There is no way that we could survive without you, and you have our deepest thanks for your continued support.

With this introduction out of the way, I would like to, at long last, introduce you to the new face of GETrax: The Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency. The new GE&TAA incorporates all of the services that were offered by GETrax, as well as providing a quality- and category-organized list of accredited storefronts. We fervently hope that we may be able to better serve the community of shoppers and storefront owners through the services that we offer than ever before. And now, I am proud to declare the Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency officially open for business!

Proudly yours,

Robert J. Burneside, Chief Executive Officer.
Daniel R. Sparkmann, Head of Accreditation.

RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR ACCREDITATION

In order to be accredited by the Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency, a storefront must fulfill the following:
  • Must be reasonably active.
  • Owner must be in existence and reasonably active in the thread.
  • Accreditation form must be properly filled out.

Please be advised that your form for accreditation may take time to be processed, as backlogs may occur. If there has not been a completed rating posted here for several days, and the Agency has not posted a notice about suspension of services, feel free to contact us.

Prior to applying, We do recommend that your ensure that your storefront conforms to some minimum standards in order to achieve a beneficial rating. We recommend reading over our list of common storefront improvement suggestions in order to make sure that your storefront can get a great rating without having to apply multiple times. While we are more than happy to help improve storefronts actively, we also aim to assist storefronts in a more passive fashion. We also recommend potential applicants read over their storefronts to ensure compliance with standards of English grammar. If the storefront in question does not originate from an English-speaking country, we ask that you make a note of this in the special requests section. This in no way affects the rating of applying storefronts.

ACCREDITATION PROCESS EXPLAINATION.

The Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency uses a five-star system to rate applying storefronts. The rating is based on a variety of different things, from general formatting to product description. All are listed below. Please note that an added emphasis has been placed on product description, so it might be wise to ensure that your storefront's products are comprehensively described before requesting a rating.

Image
One Star Rating

Minimal description of products, limited specifications.
Poor formatting and description of storefront, many grammatical errors.
Very little effort appears to have been put into the storefront.
Little activity, orders are answered with very little in the way of a formal reply.
Products are unoriginal.
Formatting is not contiguous throughout the storefront.
No custom designs are present.
Products are not in the designated technology range.

Image
Two Stars Rating

Very basic description of products, some specifications.
Decent formatting and description of storefront, several grammatical errors.
Some work appears to have been put into creating and maintaining the storefront.
Some activity, passably formal reply.
Products are original, but not thoroughly thought out.
Formatting is reasonably contiguous throughout the storefront.
Some products are in the designated technology range.

Image
Three Stars Rating

Thorough description of products, good number of specifications.
Good formatting and description of storefront, few grammatical errors.
A passable amount of work appears to have been put into the storefront.
Frequently active, formal replies to orders.
Products are original and well thought out.
Formatting is contiguous throughout the storefront.
Custom designs are present and well-designed.
Most products are in the designated technology range.

Image
Four Stars Rating

Comprehensive description of products, good number of specifications.
Great formatting and description of storefront, few grammatical errors.
Lots of work appears to have been put into the storefront.
Very active, formal replies to all inquiries and orders.
Products are original and well thought out.
Formatting is very contiguous throughout the storefront.
Custom designs are present and emphasized.
All products are in the designated technology range.

Image
Five Stars Rating

Exceptional description of products, good number of specifications.
Exceptional formatting and description of storefront, almost no grammatical errors.
Way too much work appears to have been put into the storefront.
Extremely active, formal replies to all inquiries and orders.
Products are original and well thought out.
Formatting is exceptionally contiguous throughout the storefront.
Custom designs are present and heavily emphasized.
All products are in the designated technology range.

STOREFRONT IMPROVEMENT SUGGESTIONS

If you did not request suggestions for the improvement of your storefront and wish to receive suggestions nonetheless, or you would like more feedback, you have several options. Either send us a message explaining your recent rating and the fact that you would like improvement suggestions, or communicate with the Bureau for the Improvement of NS Businesses, located here. The Bureau is an organization committed to helping storefront owners improve both their individual storefronts and the GE&T community as a whole. They are formed from a core of Roleplay Mentors and committed and respected storefront owners, and would love to help you improve your storefront(s).

COMMON STOREFRONT SUGGESTIONS.

Below, you will find a list of the most common suggestions that GE&TAA has given out to applicants. We highly recommend looking over these suggestions and seeing if any of them apply to your storefront before you apply, as this will save both you and us time. So, without further ado, we present the Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency's "Common Storefront Suggestions" list, compiled beginning July 28th, 2015.

IMAGES AND TITLES
  • Is the text visible on the 'dark' themes?
The logo and title images of some storefronts feature large, prominent, and extremely important black text. Unfortunately, these images will mostly disappear to customers using the 'dark' themes. The bet way to deal with this is by changing the color of your text/image, or possibly placing a white (or other prominent colored) border around the black text.

  • Does it have a transparent background?
Another common problem relating to the 'dark' themes. Because of the change in background color, any white backgrounds around images that appear to look good on the 'normal' themes will be eye-scorchingly bright on the 'dark' themes. If this applies to you, we recommend changing the background of your image to transparent, a feature that most image editing tools should be able to do rather easily.

  • Does the sizing fit with images around it?
One thing that can significantly improve the looks of a storefront is simply having images that are in close proximity be similarly sized. This is especially the case in places such as airline class descriptions, when the description really revolves around what you see in the image. If the images are extremely different size-wise, it can significantly degrade the overall look of your storefront.

INTRODUCTORY CONTENT
  • Do you actually talk about your storefront?
One thing that many storefronts lack is ample description of the storefront. This can be anything from a paragraph explaining the history of the company in question to a long biography of the company's Chief Executive Officer. While we do not recommend drowning potential customers in information, allowing customers to get a feel for the company as well as what it sells is imperative to running a successful storefront. A list of common informational sections is below.
  1. Letter from CEO/Manager/Owner
  2. History of the company
  3. Company executives and employees
  4. Why you should buy from the storefront
  5. FAQ
  6. Contact Information
  7. Eco-friendliness

…et cetera. There are endless possibilities for introductory content for your storefront. Just pick something, go for it, and see what happens!

PRESENTATION AND FORMATTING
  • Do you align your text, and does it look nice?
Some storefront owners are rather obsessed with the [.align=center] tag. They use it for everything, and then entire storefront (images, titles, text, and all) is aligned to the center. This is visually disturbing to me, and doubtless many others. I highly recommend the use of the [.align=justify] tag in storefronts, commonly in conjunction with the [.blocktext] tag. The former will align the beginnings and ends of every line of text to those around it, and the latter will push both sides of the text (and lines, for that matter) in towards the center a little bit. The blocktext tag is ideal for things such as formal letters.

If you really want to go overboard, you can even use the [.tab=##][/.tab] tags to add an indentation of a specified number of pixels. For the beginning of a paragraph, the standard is 30 pixels or thereabouts.

  • Does your formatting look nice?
Instead of giving you a guide on formatting your storefront, I'm just going to direct you to the guide that Maltropia wrote and the guide that Tippercommon wrote.

MILITARY STOREFRONTS
Of all of the different types of storefronts in GE&T, only military storefronts merit their own section in this guide. Why is this? Well, this is mainly because they are by far the most common type of storefront. They are easy to make and maintain, and almost everyone knows something about military units. Because of this, they are generally the lowest-quality overall, and hence GE&TAA is very interested in improving the overall quality of NS military storefronts. We grade military storefronts that harshest, and really hope that you will pay attention to these suggestions and act on them before applying.
  • Are your products original?
Pretty much the best way to ensure you get a one-star rating from GE&TAA on a military storefront is to sell unaltered (or minimally altered, for that matter) real-world products. These require very little imagination to sell, and no real work to create. Before your even think about applying, make sure that, at the very least, you have changed the specifications on any real-world products that you are selling. Even better, just sell products that you design yourself! If you are unable to design unique products, then please pay special attention to the next point.

  • Do your products have comprehensive write-ups?
For a military storefront, this is the single most important thing to have. In short, your storefront is doomed to get a terrible rating unless you actually talk about your product in a reasonably comprehensive manner, and have more text than statistics. Take a look at storefronts such as Wolf Armaments, and notice that it has way more description of the product that statistics. Now, Common Territories' (WA's owner) write-ups are pretty much the pinnacle of what they should be like. Five to ten sentences can suffice for things such as hand-held weapons, but the length and detail of write-ups should drastically increase along with size (and price). Talk about performance in combat, history, materials, electronics, drive systems (if applicable), etc. Just give your customers a very full description of the product and what it can do. Ideally, someone who has read over your write-up should be able to write a perfectly accurate story involving your product.

I also recommend reading over the write-ups section of my guide to product-making.

That is everything that I have for you right now. If you would like more suggestions, please don't hesitate to send me a telegram and ask! If you are just starting this, I highly recommend reading United Gordonopia's Unofficial Guide to Creating a Storefront to help you on your way. Matter of fact, it's a pretty good resource to those of you who have been doing this for a while as well! Again, is you have any questions or suggestions, just shoot me a telegram and I will get back to you as quick as I can. Thanks!

OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION FROM GE&TAA

We are open for business and happy to receive any accreditation forms! A happy summer from the whole Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency team!

Please note that repeat applications are accepted and, indeed, encouraged. If we have previously accredited your storefront and you feel that it has significantly improved, please feel free to apply again for a new rating. If this applies to you, just note the fact that you have already been accredited in the "Special Requests" portion of the form, and we will get back to you as soon as we can! Thank you!

Another new development: We have developed several alternate banner styles for storefronts whose color schemes do not fit with our current one. If you would like, you may replace any current banner with an alternate, which are below. Thanks!

If you like one of the existing banner styles, but it is just too big for your storefront, I am more than happy to resize it for you. Just send me a telegram detailing which banner style you would like and the requested size (in pixels or using a conversion factor/ratio/percentage), and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Do note that any increases in size will be blurry. And you don't want that!

Once more, thank you for applying to the Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency!

Robert J. Burneside, Chief Executive Officer.
Daniel R. Sparkmann, Head of Accreditation.
Neptune Petroleum appears to be a quite profitable storefront for its age. We do, however, have several suggestions for you.
1: Make the background of you main logo transparent. This will make the logo blend in better with its surroundings.
2: Expand the bio of your CEO. There is very little there to merit his presence as a major part of the storefront's main page, and I would suggest either telling your customers about his history more, or simply removing him from the storefront altogether.
3: You might give your customers some detail on the process by which you make your fuels, possibly emphasizing eco-frinedliness or another notable factor.

Overall, your storefront is quite well designed. Good luck!

This is a very well-designed storefront, and I have heard many great things about it. I actually have very few suggestions for you.
1: You have very comprehensive descriptions of many products, such as tanks, APCs, and aircraft. The main thing that I had a problem with on your storefront was the lack of description on many of your weapons pods. I am well aware that this would be an extremely daunting task (hence the fact that I'm not trying it! :p), but this could prove very important to customers. I would, at the least, add a picture or two to each in order to give the buyer an idea as to what they are purchasing.
You are very active in the storefront, and you have made huge profits. There is really nothing else that I can see to suggest to you! Good luck in the future!

What type of storefront is this (i.e. Military, Automotive, etc.)? It is a specific storefront designed along the lines of state-owned universal department stores, but more. It is also politically connected to the economic apparatus of our country, exporting domestically-produced items and services in exchange for hard currency.
Special Requests: If convenient, do not take into account the response gap of several weeks and associated backlog. This was due to serious OOC engagements (graduation, etc.). The storefront is entirely active.
Name and position of applying individual: Brother No. 27, Vice chairman.

OOC: Thanks for the rating and advice. That had been an issue for me too, but the main reason why I didn't go deeper into those set of products is because of space; I am actually out of room on the product and OP pages. That is why (spoiler to customers) I am moving some of my actually described products over to their own pages - thereby giving me room to expand the page further and expand upon the items I did not bother to make pages for. Thanks again for the rating and advice - good luck with this thread because I have to say it looks very nice too 8)

Per your request, I have ignored the reasonably long response time. There are several different suggestions that I have for the SEC.

1: The first major thing that comes to mind is the lack of substantial description of many of your products, such as firearms. Advocating more description of products has proved to be a theme here as GE&TAA so far, so I would certainly not take offense at this. Many of your products, such as Arktika battle rifle and (especially) the Ris mortal artillery system, have quite acceptable amount of description to accompany the specifications. Many of the other non-secondary armaments above the Arktika only have one or two sentences to accompany them. I like the way that you use the weapon's position in your military as a part of the description of said weapon is a really good idea, and I would advocate using that as a part of many of your weapons. You might also take a look at Youhannes' basic products descriptions on the main page of VKM. The descriptions found there (such as this one) are really everything needed to describe a good handheld firearm or similar product. For products such as armored vehicles, I would suggest a bit more description, roughly comparable to what you already have about your Imeon MBT. Just keep working at this, and you'll get off the ground quick! :) For ammunition, what you have is perfect. Just be sure to specify the caliber of the round in the description as well as in the name.

2: This isn't really suggestion, but I just wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the way that you used the font changes within the [pre] blocks the emphasize your titles. In fact, your formatting was quite exceptional throughout the storefront!

3: Instead of having the "Contact" button link to your nation page, I might suggestion using this mostly unknown type of link: http://www.nationstates.net/page=compos ... lgar_rouge
This will open a new telegram addressed to you.

Your storefront looks quite good at present, and I look forwards to seeing it improve in the future! Good luck!

Truth be told, I did not expect by any means that you would be applying this soon! :p Nonetheless, here you are, and the first I've yet rated nearly perfectly. I could hardly find anything to find fault with in the whole storefront with the exception of pet peeves., such as logos placed in images being higher resolution than the image itself. As such, you'll only find one suggestion below.

1: The transition between the third and fourth frames of your main header GIF is not faded like the others. (Again, pet peeve!)

TCD is practically perfect in every way, so congratulations on your new five-star rating! I actually have one question for you (reply via TG, of course.) How did you manage to have your "Back to top" image (obviously linking to the top of the page) not have a blue line below it denoting this fact?

Once more, thank you for applying to GE&TAA!

First off, I know a lot of people who have purchased armaments from your storefront, and know what a reputation you have as a member of the GE&T community at large. This said, several suggestions for improvement were apparent after viewing your storefront.

1: The bars of color, which I believe are meant to emulate your flag, occupy considerably more than one line on my screen, even when the NS sidebar is disabled. I would suggest making the bars less wide so that they cut down the length of each of your communiques, etc. by at least three lines. At the top of the storefront, I would suggest removing 79 dashes. For the replies to orders, 30 dashes lass should do. :)
2: You have just about enough description of your weapons, and I'm quite satisfied with both that and your specifications. I am impressed that you managed to describe the ammunition as well as you did. Not really a suggestion, but good job nonetheless! While I am on the not-at-all-helpful rant here, I will just say that your OOC notice is well-written as well.
3: Your images are nicely contiguous within the assault rifles section, but they diverge more and more from the norm set there as the storefront progresses. I would suggest standardizing the size and (if possible) the background color of the images associated with each weapon.
4: Your products (as evidenced by the photographs) are all real-world products, and you extensively reference real-world nations in your descriptions of said products. I would strongly suggest that you design and sell several original products as well as those that you already sell.

Overall, your storefront was well designed and layed out, and seems to have ease of use and simplicity in mind over beauty. Good job and good luck, Padnak!

Having never rated an airport storefront before, this should be interesting.

1:The most glaring suggestion that I have is by far the arrangement of your "Retail Spaces" spoilers. Clicking on one of them promptly blinds any dark users (or so I am told), and fills the page with large logos. I would suggest either asking your retailers to scale down your logos, or do it yourself. Nearly any editing software will do, or you can use an online one like this.
2: Similar to the above suggestion, I'd suggest making your logo have a clear background so that it is easier to bear for those who use dark. :p
3: Very low on the list, but I'd suggest alphabetizing your lists of airlines and destinations.

Good luck!

Very well-deigned storefront overall, so I only have a couple of suggestions for you.

1: Try to make the background of your opening communique (at the top of your OP) transparent, so the background matches post background color. Alternatively, you could give it a cool paper-looking background if you like the way that it stands out from the post.

2: I noticed that your replies to inquires and applications started reasonably formally, and then moved to just an "Accepted!" stamp. Having formally written replies greatly increases how professional your storefront looks, and I would highly suggest giving it a try. Little more is needed than a summary of the order/reply to the inquiry/acceptance of the application and (usually, at least) the signature of someone in charge of orders and inquiries. This is certainly the biggest suggestion I have for you in regards for your storefront.

3: I might suggest making the text in your main logo a bit larger, matching the size of the text in your other headers. I find the main logo a bit hard to read on my screen.

And that is it! Nicely done so far, and good luck in the future!

Damn, that made me laugh! Very well presented storefront overall, but the service and staff (insert mad cackles here) leave something to be desired. We both know why. :p

Layout was exceptional, as well as presentation. The only real suggestion I have is to turn off the sig display for the posts in the middle of the page, so there is less buffer space between posts. Just uncheck the "Attach a signature" box below the "Post a Reply" box.

Overall, great storefront. Good luck serving trash to your customers!

Well designed and formatted storefront overall, but there were a couple of obvious problems.

1: Several of your headers (which look really nice, by the way) have incorrect grammar in them (such as "Our News Release", which should be "Our News Releases".) Most are just simple pluralization issues.
2: You might want to look at editing your album cover images, which still show hints of their previous lives in the copyright information area. Just put an "iStudio" logo over it or something like that, and it will look a good bit better.
3: Grammar throughout the storefront is a little bit iffy, so I might suggest combing back through what you have written for errors.

Overall, nice storefront. Good luck with it!

Banktree was quite a well-formatted storefront overall, so I don't have that many suggestions for you.

1: Make the background of the logo transparent. This will help it blend better with the rest of the page. The same shoulc probably be done with your signature as well.

2: I would suggest expanding your section regarding your workforce, and possibly adding things such as why your customers are happy with your buildings, etc. This will give people a better idea as to who they are working with.

3: You should probably move your "Welcome to Banktree Firms..." line up above the flag counter so that people will be able to see it as soon as they open the page.

This was a well done storefront overall, and I look forwards to seeing it improve even further in the future! Good luck!

Why haven't I had anything new in my storefront for so long? This is why. I've been busy.

Once more, thank you for applying to the Global Economics and Trade Accreditation Agency!

Your storefront is quite obviously one of the best know and most frequented in GE&T, but I still managed to find a couple of quite good suggestions for you, the most pressing of which is number one below.

1: While your graphic design is extremely impressive (quite probably the best in all of GE&T's history), your description of products leaves something to be desired in may cases. Items such as your Phalanx-class Battlecruiser, and indeed your entire Ranger-class line (including the Pathfinder and Patron-classes), certainly have enough description to be perfect for your storefront, but others (like most of your land units, all of your multirole support vessels, and some of your much larger surface combatants) simply have nothing more than a list of specifications. I am very well aware of the fact that you have little time and that the business requires quite a lot of time, as I myself am a past customer and a fellow military storefront owner. That said, I would strongly advise making use of your "reserved" posts or even just editing in more comprehensive descriptions.

2: You actually have the BCS Athlit in two places in your catalogue, both in the Shipyards section and in the mobile units section. I assume that the latter is there by accident, and thus figured that you would want to know about it.

3: The lack of formal responses is regrettable, but I certainly understand your note in the application form.

And that's everything that I could come up with in the way of suggestions. Continue on making your very, very pretty designs, and good luck in the future!

Having never rated a PMC before, I expect that this will be a very interesting storefront to suggest improvements for.

1: I'd highly recommend reorganizing your navigation area, as, right now at least, it is making more clutter than it is clearing up.

2: Very good, comprehensive overview of your company. I'd suggest reading over much of the storefront again, just to clear out the three or four typos that I noticed.

3: It might be a good idea to give a little more information on the individual equipment and training proficiencies of your specialist operators. Just a couple of complete sentences about how they are selected for recruits, how they are trained in their selected craft, and how they are armed to fulfill their missions to the best of their abilities.

Nicely designed storefront. Good luck with it!
