The year is 1938…

President Sabrina Joyen had finally found a time to breath a sigh of relief. New Vandoosa had finally recovered from the 1929 to 1938 stock market crash. There were many things she had to do, like create more jobs. New roads and bridges were embedded into the nation everywhere. However, this had meant a cut back on the army. New tanks were unheard of. The Matilda II was the main battle tank of New Vandoosa. Biplanes were still in use and there was a vast number of Springfields from the Great War left over. However, Sabrina was not alarmed, the enemy powers from the Great War were still paying off war debt. And they weren’t allowed to make new planes or tanks either. Sabrina picked up her coffee and took a sip. All was finally well….

OOC: Well, its finally here! This services as an opening so don’t feel rushed to make an invasion next post axis. There can be a some build up. But I’m open to going to war sooner if you want. Post away

The Great Nation of Dan was still recovering from it's early war with Japan more than 29 years earlier. But from the war came a time of increased industrial and scientific growth. Even when the world fell into the Great Depression the Daene islands began the the purchase of surplus Small and Long arms, Airships, and other military equipment. With a expanding economy in modifying arms and limited arms developments. A new age of culture, advancing technology, and foreign understanding in the Daene islands.

After the events of WW1, Ruskazia is still healing from the wounds of war it suffered when it joined the war with (main german guy) against the Allies. A land with plenty of ore is exploited by the government to make full good use of it. This fueled Ruskazia's industry to great heights. Eventually, Ruskazia decided to increase it's military size in order to prepare a war that might spark again soon. Active military personnel has been increased to 1,1 million with 4,1 million as reserves. Ruskazia is also considering manufacturing it's own war vehicles in secret as to not alarm the Allies, and import some of them in low numbers. Now, President Vladimir Reznov is considering resuming the trade with their once-allies nations.

Central Kenzland, following the events of World War 1, is still rebuilding it's devastated infrastructure. The economy was also crippled by the War. The Kenzland Army was sent to annex nearby territories in order to gain some potential natural and human resources which could help fuel the nation's economy.

In the Government Complex, Premier Morath Kenzsterling was sitting behind his desk in his office, doing some paperwork, when someone knocked at the door.

"Come in," he said.

The door opened and revealed a middle-aged man dressed in military ceremonial uniform.

"Lieutenant, please come in." the Premier ordered.

The lieutenant walked in and saluted before handing some files to the Premier.

"These are reports from the front lines, sir." the lieutenant said. "They've successfully annexed three villages near the state of Montagne."

The Premier nodded, satisfied with the reports. "Wonderful. We should begin to work on the military soon. I don't want to take any risks against upcoming conflicts." He looked up from the reports. "How's the infrastructure rebuilding going?"

The lieutenant handed him another file. "Here it is, sir. The construction of the interstate highway is expected to be completed in 3 weeks. We haven't started building the public transportation system, though."

Once again the Premier was pleased with the report. "Alright, thank you very much lieutenant. You're dismissed." the lieutenant saluted and went out of the room.

He picked up his desk phone and dialed a number. "Yes, mister Premier, sir?" the person on the other side said through the phone.

"Good day, Herbert. How's our military doing?"

"The rearmament is going good, sir." Herbert said. "My Department is going to order some aircraft for our new Air Force. Our biplanes were clearly outdated."

"Great. Make sure to pick a chief of staff for the air force soon." the Premier said.

"No problem sir, we've already got some potential candidates." Herbert said.

"Good. Keep up the good work." He then hung up and took a sip of tea.

President Daryl Smith also launches program to help victims of the Great Depression which make Galtra recover faster from Great Depression. Galtra Republic has also request an alliance to the following nation: Ruskazia, United Kingdom of Great Britain, Federation of Smolenskian State, Kingdom of Araulen, and Great Nation of Dan. Galtra Republic will formed the Axis Power with PMC working for Nazi, Kenzland, and Mewar. Galtra goal is to unite the world in 1 flag using diplomacy if not, then will be using by military. President Vladimir Reznov oversees the small factory that makes small tanks nicknamed Svettraktor (свет трактор or light tractor). The name is to confuse ally spies and fooling them to believe that the tanks are actually agriculture tractors. Ruskazia's top vehicle designers are working on a new tank that would revolutionize the modern tank shape. Meanwhile, aircrafts are also being designed to replace the outdated Ilyushin Biplane.

Ruskazia would also like to open trade ports with Kenzland, Great Nation of Dan and Federation of Smolenskian States

In order to misguide the allies, he also went to New Vandoosa to meet President Sabrina Joyen to discuss the future of Europe. He promised that he won't cause any trouble unless someone else comes knocking on Ruskazia's door.

"I would also like to say that, any weapons we manufacture are for self-defense purposes unless of course we are attacked. In that case we will retaliate with full force. I understand that we are not allowed to manufacture heavy war vehicles, so we will abide by this rule. We hope that you will allow us to build back our nation to it's former glory before the war."

The Ballistic program and the PMO(private military organization) known as for attempts at creating space craft and creating airplanes during the great war have team up to create a spacecraft with Ballistics. To quote Lucas Von Furst "We feel that it would both benefit the Nazi and science to land a German on the Moon Heil Fuhrer". The PMO also joined the Nazis because of the lack of funds it's has been getting. As the engineers design models for the spacecraft we can only imgaine what the real spacecraft will look.

Galtra has accepted the trade and non aggression pact with Smolenski. Galtra has now put science as the top spending and many outdated weapon into new weapons such as Tiger I. New planes are being built and Galtra are increasing navies. Galtra has now start researching a secret powerful weapon bomb and would like to work with Ruskazia, Kenzland, and PMC working for Nazi. Galtra are recovering faster from the Great Depression and are helping accepted allies recovering.

We must to something to help ourselves.” said Major General Joel Rider. Rider had been a soldier in the Great War and knew they must respond with a larger military budget. “But Mr. Rider listen to me. What if they find out?”
“Madam if they found out we would be at war. But we will be going to war soon anyway. Let’s research newer weapons and tanks other nations have.”
“Go do it quickly. And get Major Maria and her woman’s sniper division training. Our men have basic infantry training but the woman’s division needs practice.”

During the Great War a group of nurses had taken the rifles of wounded men and held of the enemy until the make-shift hospital was evacuated. Many high ranking officers were trying to label the story as a feminist movement story but the then president Richard Tarel had done research and found the womens’ story to be true. Soon women got the right to vote and serve (although rarely did and couldn’t be drafted) in the woman’s sniper division. Major Maria Laurous was one of the nurses from the Great War and in charge of the women snipers.

Ruskazia gladly accepts Galtra offers of working on a secret bomb and sends top scientists to help. We would also like to sign a non-aggression pact with Galtra.

We also accept Smolenski's offer of a military alliance and will make sure to help Smolenski when in the face of danger. Ruskazia's ore supplies will surely benefit Smolenski in rebuilding their military and would also like to hear what Smolenski can offer.

Ruskazia is now beginning research on a new medium tank to replace the obsolete SvetTraktor (Light Tractor) and has started manufacturing of Ily-An 25, a propeller fixed wing aircraft. We have no interest in upgrading our navy as we would not like to wage war in the high seas.

And an announcement from the President:

"Sirs, I've asked you all to gather here for your advice on our reactions to this message." the Premier said in front of the high-ranking officers of the Central Kenzland Armed Forces. "Should we continue our rearmament, or just listen to what she told us?"

One of the officers by the name of Rayman raised his right hand. "Sir, I suggest you to continue rearming our military. There are a lot of possible threats in the future. If our military is weak, we can be conquered easily by other nations." he said. "After all, the treaty doesn't give us anything. It only makes our people poorer and poorer, from my point of view."

Kenzsterling nodded. "Good point. Any other opinions? If not, then we'll go with Colonel Rayman's opinion here,"

The room went silent for about 30 seconds, then the Premier continued, "Alright. Then we will continue rearming our military and producing and buying weaponry." he took a sip of his favorite tea. "Now for the intel reports. General Gordon?"

"Our spies have reported that Galtra has been researching a new, secret, powerful bomb," the 45 year-old general said. "Others reported that some nations have begun forming a military alliance. We don't know which nation yet, but I personally think that this is a threat to us. We'll dig up some more info about it."

The Premier sighed. "Do the best you can to find out about that. What's the situation near our coastlines, Colonel Natalie?"

"Um, so far, no suspicious activity, sir," she said. "Just a few trade vessels passing by."

"Good. Okay then, I think that's it for today's meeting. You're all dismissed." Kenzsterling said, taking another sip of tea.

20 minutes later, he wrote a telegram to Ms. Sabrina:

INTERNATIONAL TELEGRAM
TO : President Sabrina Joyen
FROM : Premier M. Kenzsterling

We don't recognize the treaty anymore. That piece of crap only causes our people become poorer and poorer. Our nation can't fend off possible threats because we were urged to disarm our military.

And as I said earlier, we won't mobilize our armed forces until you attack us first. So as long as you put your pitchforks and machine guns down, there will be no "tragedies" whatsoever caused by military conflict.

Smolenski has a large amount of industries focused on making consumer goods, and we also have a very large agricultural sector. We can tend to some of the needs of your citizens so your factories can change to producing materials needed for war. At the same time, we can feed the armies of Ruskazia and Smolenski, as long as we do not exceed a combined force of over 12 million. This will put a strain on us, but we have and will continue to store up food in case of war. \

In addition to civilian goods and food, we also have an abundance of crude oil, although it is worthless without refineries, of which we only have a few. We would be glad to supply you with some to fuel the vehicles of your military.

We will need help in manufacturing tanks and small-arms. We thank you for your ore supplies, they will be needed and much appreciated. Could you send us some advisers to help us build factories for these things?

OOC: just so everyone knows a battle may take a few posts. And an attacks outcome is decided by the foe.

The Bismarck had taken a beating and was slowly sinking. Then out of the fog a kingfisher appeared. It got low to the water and dropped it's torpedo. It zoomed straight for the Bismarcks hull

"Sirs, I've asked you all to gather here for your advice on our reactions to this message." the Premier said in front of the high-ranking officers of the Central Kenzland Armed Forces. "Should we continue our rearmament, or just listen to what she told us?"

One of the officers by the name of Rayman raised his right hand. "Sir, I suggest you to continue rearming our military. There are a lot of possible threats in the future. If our military is weak, we can be conquered easily by other nations." he said. "After all, the treaty doesn't give us anything. It only makes our people poorer and poorer, from my point of view."

Kenzsterling nodded. "Good point. Any other opinions? If not, then we'll go with Colonel Rayman's opinion here,"

The room went silent for about 30 seconds, then the Premier continued, "Alright. Then we will continue rearming our military and producing and buying weaponry." he took a sip of his favorite tea. "Now for the intel reports. General Gordon?"

"Our spies have reported that Galtra has been researching a new, secret, powerful bomb," the 45 year-old general said. "Others reported that some nations have begun forming a military alliance. We don't know which nation yet, but I personally think that this is a threat to us. We'll dig up some more info about it."

The Premier sighed. "Do the best you can to find out about that. What's the situation near our coastlines, Colonel Natalie?"

"Um, so far, no suspicious activity, sir," she said. "Just a few trade vessels passing by."

"Good. Okay then, I think that's it for today's meeting. You're all dismissed." Kenzsterling said, taking another sip of tea.

20 minutes later, he wrote a telegram to Ms. Sabrina:

INTERNATIONAL TELEGRAM
TO : President Sabrina Joyen
FROM : Premier M. Kenzsterling

We don't recognize the treaty anymore. That piece of crap only causes our people become poorer and poorer. Our nation can't fend off possible threats because we were urged to disarm our military.

And as I said earlier, we won't mobilize our armed forces until you attack us first. So as long as you put your pitchforks and machine guns down, there will be no "tragedies" whatsoever caused by military conflict.

Several high-altitude airships have been reported missing and suspicious persons have been reported around Daene Airbases. Local officials have begun suspecting these are the actions of pro-national socialist or pro-axis insurgents. Public out cry relates such acts as borderline terrorist attempts towards citizens and local governments of The Great Nation of Dan.

As a result several local and regional governments have taken larger defensive precautions. Naval movements have begun patrolling shipping harbors, major airways, and riverways in order to locate the missing airships. And because many fear they will be struck next.

In creating new weapons for our nation, it seems we have neglected to fix an extremely important problem. Although many suggest that tanks and aeroplanes may be the most important future weapons of war for all nations, we believe that the infantryman, both individually and as a member of a squad, division, or army, is the most important fixture of any fighting force. The infantryman takes and holds objectives; he occupies cities, and has the power to destroy armor, bunkers, and even planes if well equipped, well trained, and well reinforced by the comrade to the left of him and the comrade to the right.

The issue we present today is the infantryman's standard weapon. As we have learned from the Great War, the School if the Bayonet, while useful in the trenches, is useless anywhere else. A rifle needs to be much more than a holder for a bayonet, or a weapon used to fire at other trenches or advancing infantry. Battles in the future may be fought in cities, in forests, in mountains, and again in trenches.

Advances in weaponry have lead us to believe that the rifle of our future may be a semi-automatic weapon, much unlike the bolt-action weapons of the Great War. While this weapon will have a much higher rate of fire than a bolt action, it will also be more expensive and harder to maintain. It will be more complicated, and therefore harder to use for a common infantryman.

So far we have tested two rifles, of which we would like to collaborate with you on. We believe that if our and your armed forces were to standardize on and use the same rifle(s), we would save a lot of time, materials, and factory floor space. Also, we could both manufacture and use the same spare parts, and we would both use the same cartridges.

This is the first rifle, the Izmailov Model 27, or the IM-27

This is a semi-automatic gas-operated rifle chambered in the 7.62×54mm(R) cartridge. It has a high rate of fire, about 25 rounds per minute (compared to the 8-10 rounds per minute of a bolt-action rifle). This is a staggering improvement, but there are more problems with the rifle then are countable. There is a reason why it has been through 26 previous models.

It jams repeatedly and consistently; the magazine sometimes falls out; the bolt gets stuck; dirt gets caught inside; its a bit too heavy, and slightly cumbersome, among other things.

It needs a lot of maintenance and cleaning, and it may be too complicated for a poorly educated and trained soldier. In our new army, we are dedicating ourselves to much better training and equipment due to our comparatively smaller numbers, so this may be less of a problem for us than it is for a much larger army like your country maintains.

It is more expensive to make than a bolt-action, but not much more so. Its worth and (projected) performance far outweigh the cost.

While we are still very much in the prototype stage, we would like you to help us make this into a workable and usable design, and to consider using this weapon for your military. The weapon is getting better and better the more time we spend on it, and with the help of your men and women, we could iron out the problems much faster than on our own.

Our military has used a version of the K-38 as our standard rifle since the Great War. It is a bolt-action rifle chambered in the 7.62×54mm(R) cartridge, like the IM-27. It is extremely reliable, and very easy to use. It needs very little maintenance, and can withstand remarkable punishment from its user and the environment. We have used it for many years, and it is still our standard rifle, although if all goes well it will be replaced by the IM-27.

Please consider helping us and standardizing designs. This will help both our militaries in the long run, and will help us rebuild much faster. A finished and fixed version of the IM-27 could even help us gain an edge over our enemies.

We will be sending more designs in the future, and will keep you updated on our progress with the IM series.

New Vandoosaian borders

Sand bags were being placed over the tips of the trenches as a finishing touch. Private Matt Dacun and Sergeant Greg Madison were moving a large truck of artillery shells. "See all this private. Ain't no army on earth better than this one."
"This sure is the greatest sir."
"Now what bunker are we going to again?"
"Bunker A-3 sir."
"Oh right."
The two men continued on until they stopped at bunker A-3. All along the trenches were artillery. "Hey someone help us unload these!" Madison called.

Base Echo Shooting Range

When the sniper shoot she did it in silence. She laid atop a building looking down at the range. It was small to her. She lifted the rifle to her eye and looked down the scope. She worked the bolt and ejected the last shell that was fired. After ramming the bolt forward she focused on the red center of the target. She inhaled light and put her finger on the trigger. She looked at her target and squeezed the target.

And she smiled. The center had been hit.
