General:
LRC-2100 is a family of long range cruise missiles developed for use by Nachmerian naval vessels and aircraft. The missiles are characterized by long range and their ability to utilize the BASTIOM battle management system, as well as their emphasis on low radar and thermal profile. The family includes several variants meant for different mission profiles(see below).
Sensory and Guidance:
All LRC-2100 variants share the same basic guidance system. The system combines GPS navigation with Inertial Navigation. While mainly relying on GPS, Inertial Navigation is retained for situations in which GPS is non-functioning or unavailable. To augment the GPS/INS all variants use other guidance systems depending on their targets, these systems include terrain-comparison, automatic target recognition (by IIR), and active RADAR and emission seekers, and the BASTION system. The specific systems used by each variant are detailed below.
Each LRC-2100 is capable of being programmed with 16 targets, and is also capable of target reprogramming in midair. Combined with BASTION this allows the missile to automatically change target if it has been destroyed. It is also possible to self-destroy the missile in mid-cruise.
BASTION networking:
As mentioned above, the LRC-2100 has networking abilities that combine it into the BASTION battle management system. Using satellite communications the LRC-2100 now is able to:
