"I guess," Giovenith shrugged, rather indifferent. "Fairy tales aren't quite known for being the blueprints for real relationships, so I'm told. Besides, I'm the fairy god mother, not the princess, don't ya know?" She laughed at her own self-given title. Hmm. The dragon gave birth to the fairy god mother who encouraged the princess but would beat the shit out of the knight-in-shining-armor who tried to touch the dragon, and encourage any princess prodigy of her's to assist. Such an odd scenario a daughter of Pearlelei was born into.

"I was read different stories as a kid, usually more modern, not many involved balls," she admitted. "So I don't even have a fantasy to go on. I heard a story of a princess from the moon, but that wasn't entirely traditional either."

The Turkey is Worth the Ride

Postby Germanic Templars » Wed Nov 26, 2014 12:02 am

So with every single person from the apartment divided onto three different dropships, the pilots made no hesitation when leaving the planet. The engines began to whine louder as they throttled up, and soon they were airborne again. Closing sensitive parts, such as the glass, with heat shields, they started to burn through the atmosphere and once again, they were out in the vacuum of space, but they did not stop there. Once cleared from any potential material that they could collide into, one of the pilots called for warp speed, and what was a brief calm turned into a few seconds of one hell of a bumpy ride. But alas the crew arrived at the Hand of Malevolence. A ship so big, I could not find an image for it but it should be described as being longer than 4 Ganymede (Largest moon in the Sol System) chained together, and with the same diameter as well (which is 5,268 km at the equator). A massive dome that housed a powerful ion cannon laid on each side of the ship, such that a fleet could be disabled in one shot.

After fancy talk from the pilots to command, they entered through the exterior portal on the side of the ship. And once again, they were in another bumpy ride from hell before arriving near Gliese 581g. The planet eclipsed the view of the red dwarf as they flew to it. When they would arrive to the planet , dawn would be breaking.

Now at this point the clones were no good at landing perfectly, so by order of the emperor, the 2 mile stretch would be used as a runway for the clones despite the ships lacking any wheels. This notice was given and people cleared the streets as shops hunkered down for any mishaps to happen as the fountain was retracted into the ground. Moments later, after the initial burn in the atmosphere, the three dropships were lined up and ready to land. And to save on any boring detail, the ships landed, but the bouncing and sudden jerking and the scraping of the metal.....Lets just say that a few Motrin and Tylenol won't ease the pain or headaches anytime soon for some of the residence.

Finally the back doors opened, and with only 300 meters away from the front gates, the group had the chance of walking there too as the stores began to repoen and the streets began to become repopulated with residence again.

Marcus would have bowed down and kissed Torii's toes... she had bailed him out perfectly, plus her comment about his looks had boosted his spirits again. He was back on good ground. A grin crept onto his face.

"Well, Torii, you need to save a dance for me then." No sense in casting her adrift with Prince Booger Eater, especially after that spectacular save. Let's keep it on thicker ice. "Maybe we should all go as a group. I mean, I thought about asking Giovenith here to be my date, but then it would be awkward for everyone and I didn't want her to smack me for asking. She's got a good swing."

The boy nodded playfully. Satisfied that he had made his intentions known while also bypassing any humiliation caused by outright rejection, he settled back in his seat. He was the picture of calm right up until Giovenith's words began to sink in. It was like slowly waking up and realizing you'd dozed off during a final exam.

"I'm the fairy god mother, not the princess."

He snorted in frustration with himself for getting so worked up over things. Pressure gone, his response was real and brimmed with mirth. "Well, you owe me a dance anyway, Fairy God Mother."

[and then GT posted and I'm not rewriting this post, darn it!]

The ship touched down and once again Marcus found himself in another time and dimension. This place wasn't so bad, and he was eager to get to the bottom of the Swith comment on his invitation. Ogoti and Co yawned and stretched and disembarked with the rest. Naomi stirred and woke her husband and children. Will crawled out from where he had been lurking. He breathed in the fresh air and vowed to get a week's worth of sleep from it. And so, little by little, all the characters the writer was asked to manage slowly left the ship and found themselves outside the palace gates.

Needless to say, there were many fantastic shops along this street, to include an incredible coffee shop and a toy store that sold the best plushies.

Torii blushed. "I look forward to that dance. I owe you after that awesome birthday party.", She said. "And I think going as a group would be awesome. I feel bad that we never got to go to the school dance. We all need to experience it. It'd be my first experience in a school."

Torii spotted Tsu farther down the ship. A thought hit her as they disembarked. She hated Tsu...but she didn't. It was still hard to forget that Tsu was once her friend, but Tsu DID kind of leave her and manipulate her...

Torii felt sorry for her. "Hey, guys?", She piped up. As Marcus was feeling cooler, she was becoming the shy one. "I feel kind of bad for Tsu. I know I shouldn't, but she's kind of all alone. What do you think?"

It made her throat feel a bit dry, but suddenly she seemed a little more alert. "I... I accustomed am to watch while eating. A vulnerable time, it is." Perhaps she shouldn't have said that. (Rmwtyliin would incidentally have found that a little odd, but was busy experimenting with creamers and sweeteners.)

"Ok ?" Reginald said in a confused voice. He then took a bite of his roll and said," My name is Reginald Crowley may i ask your name"?

"I have name Kwa'a -" The name, pronounced with a short a sound, was cut off by a cat racing by. Wait, wasn't that - "Creature!" Kwa'a had forgotten the cat's name, but had remembered him being one Giovenith had trusted to watch the girl previously. Nick partially stopped, "With Rmwtyliin remain until I am back! Take to the ship her. I will come; there are stuff to bring." She turned, switching to Bomic; again, clarity. "Run, Rmwtyliin! We're running late, and I left some stuff. I can get it, no concern, and get there on time. Take the furry thing along." One didn't spend probably nearly a century around children without learning a bit of manipulation. "He looks tired, don't you think?" An apologetic, half-pleading expression was visible to Nick.

Rmwtyliin assumed that the Bomic had an ulterior motive, but she did have a point. "All right." With a polite wave, she dashed downstairs as Kwa'a ran to the elevator.

It hadn't taken the woman long at all to repack, as she had barely even begun unpacking. She took the elevator back down, then ran towards the area towards which others were going. Years of being on the run had kept her fit; she intercepted Rmwtyliin and Nick about halfway there. Suddenly, the two humanoids were grabbed by their hair and dragged forward; Nick, in scarf position, held on for dear life. It soon ended, fortunately; in shock at that and especially at seeing the ship, Rmwtyliin had fainted.

Nick, who'd curled up near Torii and the other teens, stirred, pawing someone's foot and asking the question everyone on road trips dreads. <Are we there yet?> Whomever he'd tapped might feel a bit sleepier, slightly more excited. If contact had previously gone deep enough, said emotions might have been more noticeable.

Kwa'a and Rmwtyliin were on the same ship, but not seated close to each other. The girl had slept through the entirety of the trip; Kwa'a, walking over, shook her awake, bumping a pleasant faced couple as she did so. On second thought, she woke Duncan as well, and about as gently. The preteen muttered something, before her eyes widened. "Oh - it is warm!"

"You wanted... to ask me as a date?" Giovenith pulled her hands into her sleeves and pressed her cheeks against them, as if she could squeeze the waves of red flowing into them back into their proper veins, suddenly feeling a little dazzy and looking at the ground. "Oh, I, um, o-okay..."

Something rare happened in that moment. Someone managed to poke a needle through Giovenith's visionary box and squeeze a drop out, mixing it in and changing what was inside. For a moment, her perception shifted. She'd been sucked in through the window from her lonesome but cozy crook of a branch and found herself instead in the crook of a suited arm. She'd fallen into the gaze of someone else other than her princess prodigy, but there was no need for mirages or bippity-boppity-boo here, it was the plain and non-mesmer truth of self that had drawn such appreciation. It was an odd feeling, someone else sharing a night's sweet dream with you. But why?

She stopped on that part of the path, taking rest before venturing any further into wonder. She didn't feel like she was yet prepared to comprehend whatever she found on the end. It wouldn't stay that way forever though... one thing had been promised.

"Of course," Giovenith finally said, looking and smiling through her bangs. "There will be most definitely a dance for you."

She'd think about it more after that.

Gliese was a special place, to be sure. Giovenith wasn't privy to all the politics, philosophy, and set-up that others like say Swith were, she knew the place more simply as the prosperous kingdom of a friendly neighbor. They were back, and there was a lot to think of outside of such. Like what Torii said.

"To forgive is a noble and admirable thing, Torii," she said, turning to her friend with a serious look. "You should forgive, but in this case, it would be unwise to forget. Mend things with Tsu if you wish, but do not go trying to jump in the same position you once had with another. Dip your toes, but one flash of the old ways, and you pull out."

Giovenith thought she may have sounded mean saying it, but the godling did not want to be responsible for, "fool me twice, shame on me." Tsu wasn't a bad person, far from it. But she had made weighty mistakes, and it was not in the best method to approach those mistakes with unconditional dismissal. It was now Torii's job to take a higher stance, and concentrate first and foremost on keeping herself safe and well. Torii's hand of friendship would be a second chance, second chances were privileges, and privileges were not rights.

Meanwhile, Willow hung back with Pippa-Michelle and Turtleboss, carefully taking in everything and trying to process the situation in his mind.

I am on a rock, he slowly worded to himself. In the middle of outer space. One that formed separate from the one I usually stand on. I got on a space ship, flew through the inky, freezing, soul-sucking darkness of space, and now I'm here, on a distant, completely different, celestial object. This is not a movie. This is not a book. This is an actual, real life, different planet. ... Still not sunk in. Just... whoa. It was like when Nightmare Moon had been sent to the moon, only, you know, not a banishment, and not evil, and inhabited, and not a magical sentence that actually put them inside the object...

Yuna, who had been sitting in the same ship As Will, exited right after the man, and followed him to where he stood, the rest of the residents getting out along with them all. Bran and his family followed suit, followed by Drova as well, who seemed to be sulking a bit, still reeling from the events of the previous night. It was quite a harrowing experience, and he dared not tell anyone of it, besides Willow, who already knew really. He also overheard Torii's intentions to dance with him, but frowned when he heard her comment about his skin color. As if there were anything he could do about that . . .

Kei and Toscha followed behind them still, dispersed between them all.

"So." Yuna said, standing there, wings unfurled at her back. "What is this place again?"

"Thanks for the boost, Gio."

Torii smiled to Drova. "This is Gliese, where Mr. Thriller and his companions are from. This is where we all spent Thanksgiving last year. Oh, and we're having a ball.", She added.

"Hey, Tsu?", Torii waved. "Look...you look kind of sad over there. Why don't you join us?"

"Does a short walk mean that it's on the same planet?" Natiya inferred from the idea of a short walk in the future. At some point or the other, the technology of her own time would make it so that going across a continent for a day would be an average occurance, or even going to other planets would be something to do for a weekend getaway. A short walk could have meant anything really. "Well, yeah, I suppose I'm ready, let me wait at the door for ya'."

"Okay, by the way, when I mean short walk I mean it is just a few blocks away from here. We can walk it. Will possibly only be a 10 to 15 minute walk from there really." Aleki assured here. He was quick on getting his socks and shoes before leaving his sister's apartment room with Natiya in tow. Sure enough there is sight was the back of the palace with the fence that wrapped around it and the secluded garden within it's metal bars.

Barox, walked up behind them and added, "Was a good time here as well. A lot of things to do here and new foods to try as well." He left off a small sigh and continued, "Was only a year ago when war came, and to think this place has barely changed." Making note of some new shops and the construction off in the distance.

The way the clones "parked" the dropships, the crew would have to walk to the front in order to see the palace. Out front were four guards in white armor with yellow trims and lines on them while carrying an assault rifle that looked close to that of a Bren LMG. They were quick to step off to the side of the gate as it opened up for the honored guests.

He had no idea who she was talking about, but she seemed nice enough about it not to care. He decided on a bit of humor in response. "Mmm, so I suppose you'd be finding someone else to dance with though?" He asked, looking down at himself.

Kale became a bit distracted by the bustling in the streets and the shops. There looked to be so much to do! I mean, I guess she could go clothes shopping again. The last time she did it was extremely fun (if awkward for the others). She wandered with the group looking at everything.

"Wow... what should we do first?!" she said to no one in particular.

"We had a sort of falling out, kind of. We weren't best friends to begin with, but she got mad at me over something that happened a while ago." He shook his head, deciding not to go into the details of what was said that day. It wasn't a proud moment of Drova's life, having been told to fuck off at someone's birthday party by someone who wasn't even the birthday girl. Drova learned his lesson, but could he bring himself to go and suck up to the Godling, to say that she was right? He wanted things to be better between them, but he still didn't want to get the whole gloating thing that he assumed would come with it.

"And I'd love a dance from you, Torii."

Looking over to Kale, Drova shrugged at the diminutive plant-girl. "No idea, little one."

--

"Few blocks seems managable, unless another militia shows up trying to kill us, seems pretty common around here at least." Natiya shrugged as she slipped into her own shoes, tennis shoes that were tied in the right way to be tight around her feet, but still slip on and off without much trouble. "So Thanksgiving is coming up soon, tomorrow, right? What are we going to do for that? Any plans?"

Was this Tsu's first step at becoming friends with Torii again? Only the future can tell her that but she sure couldn't wait to see the answer.

Giovenith remained conspicuous in her silence when Drova had entered and spoken up.

She hadn't told anyone what he'd said about Torii and Octavian because despite her anger, she hadn't felt it would have been right to put the boy up on trial in front of the rest of the club. It wasn't in her place to turn everyone against him. It wasn't that she was avoiding telling anyone (she also didn't want Drvoa trying to tell them that she was just some maniac who threw him out of the party for no reason), but she'd felt that it would have been best to say, tell only Yuna and Torii in private. Anyone who didn't need to know didn't really have to. It was a difficult situation.
One thing for sure, she certainly wasn't going to say anything about it while on Gliese, that was begging for trouble and hurt feelings.

"Can anyone bring our luggage to our rooms before we shop?" she asked.

"I don't know who could take our luggage back..."

"Cool." Drova smiled brightly, for the first time in a while that he felt this happy over something. It had all ended well enough, in his mind at least. Torii didn't hate him, obviously so, so that she was willing to call something a date. But there was still the whole aspect that Torii was . . . Well . . . Human. Almost like the quandary he had with Chrys. She was a beautiful person, probably the most exquisite he'd seen in a long time, but only if she were one of his own people, she'd be flawless. Torii was still cute, to be honest, but again, better as a Pyersai.

He chuckled at the thought, and shook his head.

"Mmm, I'd love to call it a date, and I'd love to shop for some things around here, mainly some dress for the Ball as well, but our luggage is sitting here. I'll bet we can find someone to take them, considering we are staying at the palace.

"I could help!" Kale chirped, "I mean, I have little luggage, so I could help you all carry yours. Well, as long as it isn't too heavy." She giggled at that. Though behind her helpful words, was another motive. She really wanted to see the palace.

Giovenith wrote:"Are you sure, Kale?" Giovenith asked, looking concerned. "I mean, I would hate to make you stuck with a bunch of dirty work while we're all out splurging. That wouldn't be very nice of us."

"Oh no! I'll be fine! It'll only take a bit!" she said, eyeing the palace in the distance. "Plus, I'm not too keen on clothes shopping. Nor... the best at picking out things...," she said, looking to Torii and giggling, "So It'll be fine. You guys have fun!"

Tsu laughed as she approached the group. "Torii,if you had my life being the odd one out would be a normal feeling". Tsu heard something about shopping, she checked her pockets abd let out a groan, she had no money to buy anything. Maybe she could burrow 50 dollars or something from someone but she was to shy to ask anyone, what was Shw to do with money anyway..she didn't have a date..maybe she could buy a katana, yeah, she should go buy a katana and become a swordswoman.

"Well, alright, if you insist. Thank you!" The godling pulled in her plant-girl friend for a hug, then looked at the rest. "Alright, I guess we can get going then. You think maybe we can find someplace that sells fabric, too? If not, I can dig around for some, but I have to make something for Willow since they don't sell pony clothes here."

"What?" The grey pony, about six feet away, overheard his name and broke his gaze away from the magnificent palace gates.

"Nothing! Just take Pippa and Turtleboss to the room!" Giovenith dismissed, not yet ready to pin the pegasus into going to the ball. Chances were high he'd try to avoid such an overly social situation.

The situation with Tsu worried Nick somewhat. Deliberately moving from his spot in the general area of Torii's feet and deliberately glancing at said person, he walked up to Tsu. <Hello, again.> She'd feel a bit of concern, and a bit more determined - oh, and stubborn.

Kwa'a, having finally managed to remove Rmwtyliin from her seat, had to run to catch up as the latter dashed through the bay doors. For a moment it seemed as though the Fvaarniimarn had decided to make her escape! When, spotting her newly-minted guardian, the preteen slowed her pace, said guardian sighed, relieved. Said preteen reddened. "Apologies." She'd felt that she needed to start living up to the duties of a Naaliiasz or Fvaaviimkunz or whatever her station was now.

"It's alright." Kwa'a's wide, genuine grin helped to put the young woman at ease. "Shall -"

"Where are we?" Then, upon seeing Kwa'a's frown and some similar tells, she continued. "No - tell me. Truly, I desire to know."

Kwa'a took a deep breath. "I think we're on another planet... Rmwtyliin? Rmwtyliin!" This last was to the girl who stood still, gaping. "Why don't we go check out our rooms? Then, perhaps, if you're up to it, we'll shop? I hear there's a ball for this holiday here; I think we're invited!" For a moment, the wide-eyed, eager girl Kwa'a had been once came to the forefront, in a way. Rmwtyliin, nodding, permitted herself to be led forwards.
Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Unless one is a genealogist, therapist, geneticist, or FBI agent - who is acting within the scope of their job - to claim that anyone is wrong about their own identity is not merely absurd but also extremely rude.

Swith Witherward wrote:"Teach it?" Will's eyebrow arched. "It's sort of an innate talent that all cultists within my group possess. None of us can cast them as effectively as our god, but we can put them to use for minor things such as sound mufflers. Are you a magic user? Eh, there's a few things you'll need to know about magic and Bielefeld's citizenry, but it can wait until it's time to return here.

Sandy was all questions, but he asked just one: "How about magic and the citizenry of where ever these ships are taking us?". Then, after waiting for an answer, he broke into a great big grin and asked, "A cultist? With magic in imitat-- sympathy with a living god? If you're being serious..." He trailed off. If the Brit was serious, it would answer a great many questions about Earth's ancient religions, and why so little survived about them, or about the magic they were were believed to possess. If their magic was a simple for them as walking down the street, no wonder they didn't write anything down. There'd be no reason to... Sandy turned inward, lost in thought.

Swith Witherward wrote:"Yuna! There's work to be done, lass!" Will called a final time before turning his attention back to the three newcomers on the sidewalk beside him. He gestured for Jasmine, Sandy and Amanda to head towards the ship.

Amanda led her husband aboard the nearest ship without breaking his reverie. She'd done similar things too many times to count, but she regarded it has just one of the occupational hazards of marrying an academic.

Amanda felt a bit foolish at losing track of the young woman she'd been talking to, but she'd look for her whenever they got... where ever they were going.

Germanic Templars wrote:Now at this point the clones were no good at landing perfectly, so by order of the emperor, the 2 mile stretch would be used as a runway for the clones despite the ships lacking any wheels.

Sandy and Amanda staggered off the dropship and took a long look at their new surroundings. They seemed strangely familiar, though there were no reason for them to be so. Sandy turned to Amanada and weakly joked, "You did say you wanted to find some place we wouldn't be found. I think we've got one." Amanda returned a baffled smile, paused, and then said "The jeep! We should see if the British soldier and the winged girl managed to get that aboard." With that they went in search of them.

Out of the cargo areas of a drop ship, a towering pale behemoth in a tuxedo pushed a jeep out of the way as he gathered his creator's luggage. "Scarface, would you kindly fetch the sandvich safe?" Neil, the velociraptor in the indigo suit, ordered his butler as he stretched his legs in anticipation of running. "Indeed, exercise on an empty stomach may cause slight discomfort. And it has been minutes since our last meal." Gretta, the velociraptor in the amber dress, commented as she stood by her husband. Their three children ran around the ship in circles, laughing as they bobbed and weaved around.
