Character Name: Nikolai-Pietr Firsov/Gadenærus (Gaden for short)

Character Gender: Male/considered male

Character Species: Human (most of the time)/Demon

Character Physical Description: 30, 5'10", 155lbs, short brown hair, cobalt blue eyes, athletic build. Gadenærus is very old. Stats changed when (forced) to turn to its physical demonic form*: 12 feet, 320lbs, inverse hoofed legs, short razor sharp claws, bulbous mouth-less head with jagged horn protrusion at the top. Pics attached for both.
*It would take a being more powerful than Gadenærus to forcibly shift Nikolai into demon form.

Primary Skill or Power: Elemental Evocation

Power Weaknesses/Flaws: Due to the amount of energy required, evocation is the simplest method of magic that the average human body can endure when casting without risk of fatigue or even death. 'Quick and dirty magic' Gaden calls it, though refinement of the skill can be spectacular (preparation is a must). A being considered divine or holy can interrupt, nullify, or outright backfire evocation spells, or other counter-magic that is simply greater than what's being exerted.

Secondary Skill or Power: Immortality/Extended life span. Nikolai is also given enhanced physical attributes; the man is still learning his true extent with Gaden's careful guidance.

Power Weaknesses/Flaws: Depending on the deal struck, as long as Gadenærus resides within Nikolai, the host is given an immeasurable amount of immunity and immortality. Gadenærus can heal serious injuries, but fatal blows to the head or heart are beyond the demon's ability.

**Please note: Gadenærus is capable of much more than what's stated above, but for the sake of balance and my unwillingness to list everything the demon capable of, evocation will be its primary affinity to dealing with things. Gadenærus will always be weak against any magic or beings that are more powerful than he and/or considered divine or holy.

Character Background/Biography: Gadenærus, the Demon of Knowledge and Indulgence, is a very old being and one of the very first demons created after Lucifer's banishment into hell. The eternal struggle fought under Lucifer's banner were - for a time - something Gadenærus took with fervor and zeal (as such were not just a 'divine' trait). However, as time went on, and countless deals were struck with mortals, collected, recycled and re-bargained, Gadenærus became weary. The demon had became tired of the conflict and his silence and avoidance of his 'brethen' was keenly noticed. (Ironic they would notice, considering Gadenærus' physical predisposition that kept it in perpetual silence and solitude). The demon wanted something more out of its existence and its healthy curiosity for all that was different, for all that was to offer on earth rather than the constant struggle and hell itself, only fueled his desire for freedom. And so the demon disappeared from war effort completely, (becoming a rogue and target for all other demons thereafter) to pursue its own goals in a journey to find... something. It started when it had purposely placed itself into a Denarian Coin that circulated itself in the deserts and found its way to a man who sold himself for 30 pieces of silver and consequently committed suicide thereafter. The Coin, the demon, would travel through human history as a silent whisper into the heads of all those that picked up the Coin (and the demon's offer). The 'deal' would be simple, he would guide them and show them Wonders the earth had kept in secret (or flaunted) in exchange for simply letting Gadenærus reside in them. The Choice to take his offer were of their own volition (Gadenærus found that possession of mortals by force would only attract unsavory consequences). The price is usually the host's soul and the demon has made arrangements to help their passing ease to a different afterlife than what is usually ill-fated and presumed (though that has not always been the case for some).

Nikolai-Pietr is the most recent host to take up the Coin. A Russian that had unwittingly picked up the ancient coin and found himself in the embrace of a being he couldn't comprehend. A downtrodden man with few resources and a family that had long since forgotten about his existence, Nikolai took the offer out of desperation, depression, anger and fear of isolation rather than Gadenærus’ more glamorous offerings of wealth and knowledge. The "partnership" was kept simple: Nikolai would have his faculties and would be able to make his own decisions in exchange for protection and companionship provided by the demon. The exact figure on who retains more control remains ambiguous, as Gadenærus can garner more control but only if Nikolai makes the choice or agrees to (or by force, though the demon would prefer other options). Gadenærus makes a concerted effort to avoid other demons as it has been marked a deserter at the least, and traitor worthy of eternal torment (or death) at worst.

Knowing full well the shortsightedness of its host ambitions, Gadenærus (Gaden) instead persuaded Nikolai to explore the world. Nikolai agreed, but the man remains hesitant to indulge in things considered luxurious and weary of anything that seem 'too good to be true'. The demon has been patient, content to simply coexist, guide, and possibly discovery new things while using its vast wealth collected throughout the centuries to fund anything Nikolai would want or need. The eclectic partnership is 6 months new with mortal and demon learning to coexist with one another.

power to me is relative. Its how a player uses it that matters, and we've got some heavies in PL imo. I play Mab and I've hardly used her abilities simply because there's no need to insofar.
