Haven't seen any posts to the contrary but just wanted to check. Do you have a time for the draw? Will it be posted during ES/Felix's cut-off window? Also any insight as to the first MD?

All the information will be posted in the thread, most likely in after the afternoon (sorry for the redundance), cut-offs will be setted in that same edit that will include pots and groups. Have patience.

...And, having just noticed a small mistake in the draw pots which had 235th-ranked Polkopia as an unranked team, several minor changes have been made to the draw, effecting Groups 4, 10, and 16 as a result of changes in pot assignments for Paymina and Octinstine as a result of the Polkopia correction.

The rankings spreadsheet contains a number of errors (scroll down to host notes), including the double inclusion of all 5 nations that underwent IC name changes since last cycle (with the versions containing their current names having a rank of 0, an extremely serious error since 3 of the nations affected are currently ranked 10th, 11th and 24th, respectively), Somstratzka and the 2 different Unolias.

You let your nation CTE before the draw and didn't return until after the draw took place. That's why you were left out of the draw.

No memory of the result of that game, but I remember seeing that goal and questioning how Howard had managed it. There's been a couple of other occasions of it happening too; our current number one Andy Lonergan scored one while he was at Preston, and I seem to remember Kasper Schmeichel scoring a goal for Leicester not long ago, although that may have been from a corner, come to think of it.

And having just looked it up, it did finish 2-1 to the Whites. For all of those on here who are Everton fans...

However, you've got a player in Beauchemin who looks like he belongs in a retirement home at first glance.

Weaknesses: Beauchemin is 54 years old. He'll be in a fucking wheelchair when the likes of Logan Murdoch's done with him.

What's with all those ageist quotes? Haven't you guys heard of Jaromir Jagr, Teemu Selanne or most importantly of all, Chris Chelios?

Not that I mind too much of hearing those quotes at all, but Beauchemin is playing because he's good. Sure, he may have 6 grandchildren, but he's still fit enough to play 42 consecutive NT games

The best part of it all, he didn't start playing for Grim Reapers until WC68, when he's 50 or 52, I think.

3) This is the NSWC discussion thread, not the RL World Cup discussion thread. We probably won't have any confusion with this current incarnation, and occasional drifting into reality is likely, but don't forget what the point of this thread is for. Its not a chat thread nor is it a place to have detailed discussions about Manchester United or Brazil's goalkeeping.

Preston, Bolton, Wigan, Warrington and Burnley are all included in this point too, folks, as well as all points outside of Greater Manchester. Keep it on-topic, please.

I hardly think it's ageist to imply that a fifty-four year-old midfielder is old. At fifty-four he's literally closer to pension-age than he is to the average age a footballer retires at. None of the examples you gave are footballers and all of them either retired in their early forties or, in Chelios's case, retired in their late forties after first taking a number of large steps down through the league system.

If you have a fifty-four year-old player on your national team, and all your other players are of reasonable ages, then you should be prepared to RP a reasonable excuse for his age, or else people will dismiss you as a godmodder.
