On this date, riots against the Big Brother Bill was so high that the state of Idaho Seceded from The Union. 3 days later, on January 21, 2015, Texas, Maine, Missouri, Alaska, and Michigan Secede, and The Second American Civil war begins.
Date: August 23, 2019
On this date, The Second American Civil War ended in a Secessionist Victory, and The United States of America collapses, with each state becoming independent.

Canada and Mexico, who's economies where supported by America's, collapse, each Canadian Province and Mexican State becoming independent.

Now. It has been a year since Canda, Mexico, and The USA broke up. Distrust rumbles across North America, as new and old countries compete in the divided continent.
Welcome to The Divided States, an alternate history where a simple law causes the collapse of The US, Canada, and Mexico. You get to take charge of any nation on North America(Yes, just North America, there are almost 75 nations, just pick one) and yes, that includes the older countries(ex: Panama, Cuba, Guatemala, etc.) And the newer countries, such as British Columbia, Alaska, Quebec, Florida, and the other 65 or so former states/provinces. There are 5 main regions, each having 2 great nations(explained later) in them. The 5 main regions are:

Former US: Former states, not including Alaska/Hawaii
Former Mexico: Former Mexican States, excluding Yucatan
Caribbean: Caribbean sea/islands

Great Nations are the nations that hold vast influence over other nations, as well as having a better army.

Formable nations can be formed by the joining of nations into one nation. Formable Nations are:
New England: can be formed by:
Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, or Connecticut. Capital becomes Boston, country becomes New England.
American Columbia: can be formed by:
Oregon, Washington, or Idaho. Capital is the capital of the nation that formed it, country becomes American Columbia.
The New Confederacy: can be formed by: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Or Virginia. Capital becomes Richmond, name becomes New Confederate States of America.
