PonyVille: Ponyville is a small town that is the main setting of the series and the home of the main characters. Ponyville was founded by Earth ponies, but it is currently inhabited by Pegasi and unicorns as well. All species may start here.
Cloudsdale: Cloudsdale is a city in the sky where Equestria's weather is made. Only Pegasi live and work there, since non-Pegasus ponies cannot stand on clouds.
Canterlot: Canterlot is the capital of Equestria and home to the royal palace of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna. It was also the home of Twilight Sparkle and Spike prior to their relocation to Ponyville. Canterlot is where large events such as the Grand Galloping Gala take place. If you wish to Play as Royalty this is where you should start.

Time Passage: This is a difficult thing to decide. Thus we won't decide it. You may work out how long your days and nights last based on what is going on. That way the schedule isn't strict.
Disclaimer: All events taking place and mentioned up to the Season 4 finale, in addition to some events mentioned only in later episodes but understood to have taken place before the aforementioned chronological Season 4 finale, are considered relevant to and controlling this RP; however, these events shall not be construed to be a complete history of Equestria.
The story so far:
Shortly after Twilight received the Friendship Rainbow Kingdom Castle for defeating Tirek, a series of burglaries, mostly aimed at food cupboards and grocery shelves, occurred in Ponyville. Twilight begins an investigation, and finds out that the perpetrators were seven orphan runaways of various species (including one changeling) who regard each other like a family. Twilight, understanding their peculiar situation, agrees to adopt them as her children and to not pursue charges against them.
Shortly afterward, Twilight received, much to her surprise, a group of changeling refugees. They say that their colony had recently been taken over by Queen Chrysalis, who wants to unite all changelings against Equestria, against their will and disagreement with her ends. After presenting Twilight with a small treasure symbolizing hope for better changeling-pony relations, she accepted their offer for an alliance and to provide aid and comfort for the refugees.
The congregation of changelings at Twilight’s castle quickly gained the notice of both Canterlot and a pegasus who had helped Twilight find and capture the seven orphans. While the Canterlot guard quickly accepted the way Twilight was handling the changelings, the pegasus did not, and resolved to kill every single changeling he could find. A battle ensued between Twilight and her guards, the Canterlot guards, the changeling refugees, and the pegasus (with two wingponies), ending with the pegasus defeated, the wingponies on the run, and a major hole in Twilight’s bedroom. Some of the guards and changelings have gone to catch the wingponies, but due to various reasons have not been able to find them, though they have found the amulet they used as a weapon but have difficulties disabling it.
Princess Celestia, admitting that the Canterlot wedding attack was not unforeseeable and that changeling-pony relations need a re-evaluation, has been supportive of Twilight’s extension of friendship to the changeling refugees and promised to call a parliamentary meeting on two key questions: 1) whether to go to war against Chrysalis’ hive, and 2) whether the changelings that appear friendly to Equestria shall be allowed to participate as equals with the Royal Guard in such a war. However, Parliament may be harder to convince than Celestia, as some parties are suspicious of the changelings’ motives while others are reluctant to go to war on currently scant evidence of a planned invasion.
Of an invasion, though, there is no doubt, as Chrysalis has been reveling in conquering her last colony—but not before she learns that a group from them has escaped and gone to Ponyville—the same refugees that have asked for Twilight’s assistance. Fearing defeat if Equestria enters her wars before she can conquer all changeling colonies and hives, Chrysalis ordered several spies to Ponyville to attempt to corrupt Twilight’s mind into driving the refugees out.
Twilight’s friends, meanwhile, have been either uneasy or skeptical about her recent decisions to varying degrees. Twilight, however, believes herself justified by the meaning of friendship and its implications for such matters as justice and diplomacy, and hopes that despite strong anti-changeling sentiment, that she will be able to save Equestria once again, this time not just with the support of her friends, but with Equestria as a whole.
Now Twilight is hard at work, both in arranging accommodations for the changeling refugees and researching Equestrian law in preparation for the legislative hearing. (Fortunately, Princess Celestia has excused her from helping with the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala so not to be overburdened.) She also met a changeling in hiding who wanted to reveal himself in light of Twilight's acceptance of the refugees, who consented to being a possible witness in any legislative hearing. At the same time, however, she has faced more criticism than praise for her decision, with the local paper writing a biased account of her reception of the refugees and an editorial calling her out of touch with reality. Her friend Fluttershy came to question Twilight, but upon further explanation Fluttershy understood that the changelings meant no harm. In addition, the Cloudsdale Gazette published an article falsely claiming that Twilight in fact plans to take over Equestria. Rainbow Dash, not believing it, is going to the Gazette office for an explanation.
In Ponyville, one of Chrysalis' spies split from the rest of the group to go to Canterlot. That spy abducted the leader of the Rose Party, Smoky Topaz, and took her place. She has, in her own right, launched her own campaign against Twilight's proposal, drumming up increased suspicion against changelings and instead arguing that Prince Razor Wing is the real aggressor. She dealt with Trilby, the Rose Party whip who happens to be a changeling and had been drumming support for the bills as part of a larger plan to generally recognize changeling rights, by planting subconscious messages in his brain appealing to his identity as a changeling and history of changeling oppression, and threatening to reveal his real nature if he attends the meeting. She also convinced the other spies to follow her plan of focusing on Equestria's democratic process rather than Twilight Sparkle, and even directed a couple of them to kidnap and replace a couple of Supreme Court magistrates to influence the Court in case Celestia's rejection of her declaration of war against Razor Wing becomes a legal question.
The children are getting used to their new life. The older children have been invited to the Grand Galloping Gala, and are naturally very excited for it. The children also met Apple Bloom at the park, and she and Bounty Hunt have developed a crush on each other.. When it is revealed that the seven children were responsible for the burglaries, Apple Bloom abruptly leaves, leaving Bounty heartbroken and the other children confused. However, he hopes to win her back and invite her as his "plus one" to the Grand Galloping Gala.
Twilight and Razor Wing got an invitation from the Royal Guard and Social Justice Committees in Parliament to testify at their hearings for the bills. Pitch Black noticed that the head of the Social Justice committee also has the Black name and asked Twilight to take him with her, and Twilight agreed.
Before Twilight went to the hearing, she met with the 1,800 other refugees from Razor Wing's colony and assured them that it would be safe to go into town. She, Razor Wing, Pitch Black, and the changeling in hiding she met a couple of days before then went to Parliament Hall in Canterlot and had a short meeting and lunch with Potter Black, the Social Justice committee chair, who, after seeing Pitch, told them the story of his secret affair with a campaign aide he had a few elections back and how she had died giving birth to Pitch.
At the hearing Prince Razor Wing refuted a claim by a deputy well-known in her pre-political life as an investigative journalist, Muckraker, that his colony had deadly, sadistic weapons that they planned on using in a surprise attack. He also assured the committees of his sincerity in wanting better changeling-pony relationships.
After some debate and compromise, Parliament approved a significant spending increase for the Royal Guard and allowed changelings into the Royal Guard. However, the integration was conditioned on the refugee changeling's 'good behavior' at the upcoming Grand Galloping Gala. Each of the refugees were to get tickets and expected to attend.
Muckraker is actually another changeling spy working with the spy who took Smoky Topaz's place. Their efforts to thwart the bills were in vain, but they were relieved when they heard that Queen Chrysalis plans to make an overwhelming attack on various locations in Equestria while everyone is celebrating the Grand Galloping Gala
"The Gala began well with everypony having a good time. However, things started to change when Smoky Topaz bit into one of Twilight's eggshell-laced strawberry tarts and lost her disguise. She was taken in for questioning, suspected of being one of Chrysalis' spies. But shortly afterward, Chrysalis' changelings began to swarm the Gala--and virtually everywhere else in Equestria. They began to massacre the Gala attendees, but many of the attendees were ushered into the nearby Canterlot Caves, waiting for the battle to end.
The battle lasted for the rest of the night, with Celestia, Luna, Silver Shield (Twilight's head guard in Ponyville), and the Royal Guard doing their best to protect Equestrian from the invaders. Twilight, too, joined into the battle, defending Canterlot Hospital from the invaders, having brought Bounty and the children there for an allergy attack Bounty suffered at the Gala. But it was a tiring endeavor. The Princesses gradually tired from their defense, and Silver Shield had to negotiate a treaty with the Ponyville invaders to stop them from killing off hostages.
All seemed hopeless until very early in the morning when Prince Razor Wing's allies came to the rescue, responding to letters that he had sent them earlier that week. Catching Chrysalis' troops off guard, they soon drove them out of Canterlot and Ponyville, and liberated a number of other Equestrian cities. However, many major cities remain in invader hooves--Manehattan especially, which Queen Chrysalis personally led her troops against.
In their time in the Caves, Parliament formally declared Equestria at war and Prince Razor Wing's changelings to have passed the Gala test. Later the Gala attendees, including Prince Razor Wing, found a well-preserved changeling fortress from before the Discordian Era, and collected several artifacts from it that showed the technological and political advancement of the changeling kingdoms before Ponies came to Equestria. They agreed that these artifacts should be put in a museum so Ponies could better understand changeling history, and preserve the fortress for study.
Though the war has only just begun, many now hope that Prince (now King) Razor Wing's allies will be strong with them in their fight against Chrysalis and her hive.
