Depending of the fuse, it may or may not detonate in body if they're not wearing armour. In body detonation without a armour will likely remove limbs and take out large chunks of meat. Even if it did detonate after exiting the body, shrapnel would probably kill the victim and anyone within 0.75-1m.

If it hits a plate, though, I suspect it would partially penetrate the plate before detonating, turning any ceramics into shrapnel while blowing a hole in the chest behind the plate.

It would likely need to hit a point near a limb to pull off a chunk of flesh large enough to sever a limb. The round, assuming detonation, would likely kill the individual pretty much anywhere it hit in the lovely square of death that everyone has. Blood loss, shock, cardiac arrest, fragmentation and burns are all going to happen in addition to the trauma inflicted by the 12.7mm round, which, I probably dont need to tell you, is pretty massive.

I was assuming that the limb was hit, FWIW.

If you were to have as many options as 40mm for the RPG-7, you'd be carrying WAY too many rockets. A good combination of 40mm smoke grenades and fragmentation grenades ought to cover most things.

Is there any point in issuing errehman with a not!LAW if every man's got two AT (I guess that's what the left one is on yours? I think I issue AT grenades based on Imerian or something) and two HE rifle grenades? I ask this because I do, but I'm not sure if it's functionally dead weight when I've got like 20 UBGL grenades and 28 rifle grenades per section.

They are AT4CS for anti-armor/anti-fortification work. Not LAWs, however M72s may be issued.

AT rifle grenades are to hit the sides of things like IFVs.

HE-FRAG rifle grenades are for infantry.

Of course it is, but murder and the destruction of anything to do with said opponent isn't, which is the opposite of what Uflr believes. When someone believes that mercy shouldn't have anything to do with warfare, then you should expect them to be a bit of a psychopath.

Yeah, just look at how quickly the fall of Rome, the Hundred Years' War, the Napoleonic Wars and the Vietnam War all ended, and they're all amongst the most bloody conflicts in history. Aiming to cause your opponent as much death and misery as possible for no other reason than "it's how warriors are supposed to do it" is retarded and only makes things worse in the long run.

Cruel != bloody. You can have a war with a lot of death but little cruelty. And conversely you can have a war with little death but extraordinarily cruelty when it occurs.
