Geography
Area= 9,900,000 Square Kilometers
The North is sparsely populated, with cold tundras and the only people for miles are in multiple military training bases. A third of the nation's total military assets are in the North.
The East is the urban center of Tartonica. 2,402,093,774 people live on the East Coast as late as April 13, 2010. It is the primary manufacturing, services, and technological center of Tartonica.
The West is the other, smaller urban center of the nation, totaling 501,070,592 people from April 13, 2010 figures. The West is the primary shipping capital of the nation, and known for its comparatively low cost of living.
The South is the farming sector, providing enough food to allow the government to export food, unlike most other nations of Tartonica's population. New advents in technology allows vertical farming to be possible in the main processing cities along the Southern portion of the South.
There are 20 districts, 5 Special Administrative Regions, and a semi-autonomous region.
Government
The Government of The Socialist Monarchy of Tartonica is divided into the Executive Branch, Judicial Branch, and the Legislative branch.
Executive Branch- The Executive Branch of the nation consists of the Emperor of Tartonica, currently Chang Hongxing. The Emperor is determined by right of birth, and has the ability to declare wars, propose bills, veto bills, and in the case of martial law, complete command of the nation. Should the Emperor be assassinated, the Prince of the Nation steps up to be the Emperor. If, in the unlikely event of the entire royal family being murdered, then the Assembly takes temporary control of the government until the people can decide on a new Emperor.
Judicial Branch- The Judicial Branch consists of several federal courts, and the People's Court. The People's Court consists of 6 judges, and a Supreme Judge, who's vote counts twice. Each judge in the People's Court is directly elected by the people of the nation, and the Supreme Judge is hand-picked by the Emperor. Judges in the People's Court serve 10-year terms, and the Supreme Judge serves for 5-year terms.
Legislative Branch- The Legislative Branch consists of the People's Assembly, the unicameral law-making body of the nation. It has the ability to pass bills, override vetoes by a 90% majority, make treaties, and amend the Constitution of the nation. Assemblymen and women are elected to 4-year terms. Only the Socialist Party and the Civilian Party are allowed to select candidates. The Civilian Party is more centrist to center-right while the Socialist Party is leftist, though not to the extreme. The Socialist Party is technically the party that advocates for social liberalism, and the Civilian Party is everyone else lumped together, resulting in low seat-numbers due to conflicting ideals. The People's Assembly is led by the Premier, which is also a de facto member of the Executive Branch. He has similar powers as the Emperor, but the Emperor has the ability to override anything not related to diplomatic or militaristic means.
There are also multiple ministries, including the Tartonican External Affairs Ministry, Tartonican Investigations Assembly, and Tartonican Internal Affairs Ministry. The heads of the Tartonican ministries are appointed by the Emperor, and can serve up until retirement or forced abdication by the Emperor, or a majority vote by the People's Assembly.
Economy
The Tartonican Economy can be classified as a mixed economy, with more government intervention than the standard. The government has a monopoly on the mailing industry, power industries, oil drilling, and 80% of the communications industry. Private companies provide public transportation, with government-regulated prices. The People's Assembly has the ability to raise or lower taxes by a majority vote of 75%, and close down any company deemed to be "unruly" or "monopolistic".

History
5000B.C-2500B.C- Dark Ages
*Tribal warfare was frequent, as the first signs of Tartonican inhabitants arrived.
2500B.C-500A.D- Empire Age
*After the Dark Ages, a coalition of tribes united, and conquered the other tribes, forming the first Tartonican Empire.
*Prosperity grew to sky-rocketing heights, with one of the largest economies of the world at its peak in 500B.C
500A.D-600A.D- Turmoil Age
*Foreign invaders attacked from all sides of the Empire, while it was in a depression, bringing it down. The tenacious people of Tartonica managed to finally drive them out at the end of this age, but it would forever leave a mark.
600A.D-1800A.D- Colonial Age
*After the reuniting of Tartonica, the Tartonican Military was rebuilt, and promptly set out to conquer their nearby neighbors who invaded them during the Turmoil Age. After a war lasting from 600A.D-900A.D, the entire area was stalemated between a conglomerate of nations against Tartonica. Eventually, the Conglomerate launched a final, desperate attack on June 9, 901. The attack was a disaster, and the Tartonicans counter-attacked. The Conglomerate fell, and revenge was finally completed.
*After the long war, Tartonica entered an age of prosperity.
*During the 1700's, Tartonica participated in minor colonization attempts, and were successful, but never managed to keep up with Europe's colonies.
1800A.D-1920A.D- Industrial Age
*The Industrial Age allowed for many new inventions to reach Tartonica, and Tartonica's military was revitalized as a result, adding automatic guns, tanks, and other things into its arsenal.
1920A.D-1940A.D- Civil War era
*The Civil War was fought between Monarchists, who wished for the Monarchy to remain in power, because they've been largely successful thus far, and the Socialists, a group of people wanting for the working class to have a say in government.
*In November 11,1940, the Beihai Conference concluded the Tartonican Civil War, with a mutual agreement to allow for the workers to have a large portion of the government, yet keeping the Emperor as the head of government. That formed the basis of today's People's Assembly-Premier-Emperor government triangle.
1940-1990- Militarization Age
*Tartonica's involvement in World War II was immense, including massive armament supplies to the European Allies, and a fourth of the nation's armed forces committed to both theaters of the war.
*During the Cold War, Tartonica abstained from joining either coalition, and preferred to be part of the "Non-Aligned Nations", although many specialists comment that their government structure is more like the United States, despite being called "Socialists".
*Massive military gains, including the advent of nuclear weaponry, allowed for Tartonica to become a major power.
*Tartonica officially entered the Space race in 1973, when it launched the space probe "People".
1990-Present- Information Era
*Computers and the Internet rule, as the technologies sector boomed. Tartonica's economical gains were so many, few nations can match the speed of Tartonica's economical growth, with the GDP nearly doubling in 15 years.
