Under the Reagan Administration, the US armed forced were experience a period of heavy budge increases. Reagan knew the secret to beating the USSR in the Cold War wouldn't be threw an actual war, but the threat of one. He did not like the idea of MAD, mutual assured destruction, and would show the USSR he meant business. By boosting the military budget to a level the USSR could not financially compete with, the USA would be able to win the war. Perhaps not tomorrow, but within the near future. Beyond troops and other such things, Reagan had plans for something he called the Strategic Defense Initiative. He wouldn't release this to the public yet as he didn't know if it was even possible, thus he would assign some special workers to determine it's feasibility. The media, however, had speculations as to what these large increases in the budgets were for. Some people speculated that it wasn't to fight the USSR and communism, but to fight a closer enemy, Centroamerica. Perhaps the media knew more than they should?

The April 18, 1983 United States embassy bombing was a suicide bombing in Beirut, Lebanon, that killed 63 people, mostly embassy and CIA staff members, several soldiers and one Marine. 17 of the dead were Americans. It was the deadliest attack on a U.S. diplomatic mission up to that time, and is thought of as marking the beginning of anti-U.S. attacks by Islamist groups.

The attack came in the wake of the intervention of a Multinational Force, made up of Western countries, including the U.S., in the Lebanese Civil War, to try to restore order and central government authority.

Bagram Airbase,Afghanistan

Welcome to Afghanistan you fuckers! the rather harsh VDV Captain with no clothes on,only his Khaki VDV trousers and his combat boots shouted. Two IL-76 Candids arrived from Tashkent, full of freshmen, newly trained guys.We will sort you out to companies! he shouted again, telling the total of about two hundred plus soldiers that they will be grouped to companies, and a larger, division. After they were all assigned, each of the assigned men approaches the gun-collecting bay,to get their Kalashnikovs,PK Machine Guns or Dragunovs for the marksman.A normal hot day in Bagram.Mujahideen's surely up to something.Rumours spread that they are supplied by the Americans with Stinger missiles,to shot down Hinds.Speaking of Bagram and Mi-24 Hinds, two of them lifts up,making their way to a village, suspected with having Mujahideen weapon cache.

Shindand Airbase,Afghanistan

Alright, today we are going on a mission, comrades. We are going to secure the way to Kandahar, set up check points, allowing the 18th Company to secure Kandahar
The commander said, geared up,his whole company is also ready. As soon as their briefing is done, they embarked the BMP.After a long ride, they arrived at the highway heading to Kandahar.Well, they set up various check points, securing the mountains around the Highway.Another squadron of three Mi-24 Arrived, securing the mountains fully.

April 1983
Presidential Palace, Constantinople, Ottoman Federal Republic

Col.AbdulAziz puffed on his cigar while reviewing reports at his desk. He took the cigar out of his mouth dumped some ash in the clear glass ashtray near him and placed it back in his mouth. He was looking over some economic numbers. The developed oil fields in Iraq were pumping in revenue and sent to refineries in Syria. He was pleased that his geopolitical position gave an advantage over Western nations who heavily relied on imported oil which his economy now prided itself on. AbdulAziz was interested on getting his hands on outdated soviet weaponry. Romania was a plausible source and with their oil source being sucked out by the Soviet Bear. AbdulAziz saw an oppurtunity he couldnt pass up. The US markets were not flooded by Ottoman oil and was slowly being dominated by the Saudi's. AbdulAziz realized that the Ottoman economy would suffer. His war with Iran was putting a strain on the Ottoman significantly, he needed the support from the US. He thought oil in exchange for weapons was a great deal.

Stress overran AbdulAziz. A meeting in the war room was assembled and he was already late 5 minutes. The war with Iran was not a war of expansion but rather a war to cement the Ottoman Federal Republic as the dominant regional power. With Iran tamed and out of the picture the Middle East would be open up to AbdulAziz and he could force his agenda on them. However, Saudi Arabia would be another country to tame, maybe they could be played into his diplomatic scheme if not force was always an option. What AbdulAziz really eyed was Kuwait and Qatar. Their precious oil fields was what AbdulAziz so desperately wanted. Oil was not the primary export of his country, more oil meant more money, and more money means bigger army. AbdulAziz strategically declared war on Iran for political reasons rather than expansion. He was eager to meet his General Chiefs of Staff in the War Room, frontline news always excited the Colonel.

In the middle of his thoughts his Secretary notified him of his daily cabinet meeting. He rescheduled it for after the war room meeting. Col.AbdulAziz finished his cigar, adjusted his military attire and went off to the War Room.

Tabriz Line, Iran
Ottoman assaults attempted to break through a system of trenches around Tabriz but were repeatedly rebuffed. So, in turn Ottoman forces entrenched themselves too, stalemate ensued. The strategy was to capture Tabriz and open the way to Sadr hills. The plan was to take Tabriz, move onto Sadr, and then the road to Tehran would be open for quick and easy knock-out. Establishing air superiority was top priority by High Command. Control the skies and the targets below are prey, but difficulties were encountered as the Persians had a modern airforce of their own. So far 450,000 troops were poured over the borders of Iran and the casualties taken were estimated at 65,000 not to mention 200 tanks and 75 aircraft. High Command wanted to conscript an extra 75,000 to bolster the defenses around Umm Qasr and Basra as the Persians launched a massive offensive into southern Iraq to secure the oil fields down there.

Ottoman Marines landed along the coast of Iran near the Straight of Hormuz. They were bogged down and soon were cut off from Ottoman Navy communications. High Command prepped the Ottoman Airborne paratroopers to ready for the insertion and relieve the marines of their position. The sole purpose of the marine landings was to distract Persian defenses and force them to divert reinforcements to their southern flank. The general offense plan for Ottoman forces was this:
Image
High Command wanted to make rapid advances into Iranian territory to shock defenses. Tabriz was considered a strategic point for High Command son a concentration of Ottoman forces were centered in the Tabriz region in Iran's northern region. Countless supplies, equipment, and lives were poured into the offensive campaign Operation Exploding Star. Ottoman forces entrenched themselves near Tabriz into what is now termed by High Command as the Tabriz Line. Col.AbdulAziz mobilized some of his chemical stockpile he had aquired during the Ba'athist crisis in '57 and some mustard gas in WW1. These were being sent to the Tabriz Line to soften up Persian defenses for another assault.

Image
War Room, Presidential Palace, Constantinople
Col.AbdulAziz arrived at the entrance of the War Room two Presidential Guards saluted him and then proceeded to open the doors for him. The doors flung open and immediately the sound of papers fluttering, telephone rings, and chatter among senior officers overwhelmed Col.AbdulAziz. The Colonel walked casually over to the table lit up with positions of Ottoman forces and captured images of Persian defenses. The Colonel acquainted himself to the situation, observing the various maps riddled with military positions. He stood over the Tabriz Line. Both hands planted on the table he looked through his pilot shades at the map. He sighed and then took the shades off.
"What are we looking at?

Gen.Al-Mubarak commander of the Tabriz Line army spoke,
" Well sir, we have essentially 175,000 troops implanted along the Tabriz Line. Persians have formidable defenses around Tabriz itself. Recon images show they might be placing heavy artillery in the Sadr hills, with capable range of reaching our trenches in the Tabriz Line. Those chemical missiles will come in handy for our planned assault. I have 450 T-55 tanks and 60,000 troops ready to break the lines after we've soften them up. Analysts say initial casualties could range from 7,000 to 15,000 troops. I ask that air support be abundant during this offensive, it is imperative for the success of the ground forces.

Air Marshall Khazan took over,
I will scramble 50 Su-25's for close ground support. On top of that I will deploy 20 Kamov Ka-20's to clean up resistance. 600 paratroopers have been prepped for the insertion. Gen.Mubarak your men need to set down at least 6 LZ sites for my men. Now the Persians may mobilize some of their Lockheed F-117's I can only scramble maybe 10-15 Dassault Rafale's for counter actions. If you'd like Colonel I could switch from the drop zones to tactical deployment from Mil Mi transport copters if you'd like. It would significantly reduce the risk of exposure from Persian fighter aircraft but it'd take longer to reach our objective and were more susceptible to ground conventional AA weaponry.

Col.AbdulAziz went into deep thought. Damn! he thought, how could we break through this damn line without draining most of our equipment and capabilities. I already racked some war debt and oil enough wont pay it back. Maybe some missile strikes from my Almirante Brown cruisers should do some damage. Those chemical missiles might get me some unwanted attention from the West and their one of my biggest customers. Basra and Umm Qasr is in danger of falling to Persian Forces. Maybe its time to mobilize the Ottoman Territorial Defense Force or better yet, maybe its time to see what the Republican Guard can do. Show the world what Ottoman military capability is all about.

After thinking for a quick second Col.AbdulAziz went out of trans,
Gen.Mubarak send in 75,000 instead of 60,000 and make it 500 T-55's. The chemical missiles are equipped with mustard gas, agent orange, and chlorine gas. Make sure your boys have gas masks. I'm going to mobilize 45,000 of the Republican Guard to bolster our defenses in southern Iraq, if Um Qasr and Basra fall Baghdad will be next and I'm not going to lose to those loathsome Persians. Our elites should have a little fun with their pathetic conscript army. Air Marshall Khazan try to prep 25 Dassualt Rafale's and reduce the Su-25's to 30, I want you to paradrop 600 men on LZ zones no need for Mil Mi's. Mubarak if you fail me in taking Tabriz,I will be very disappointed.Gentlemen, get to it.

Each senior officer nodded and the Colonel grinned. He gave a quick salute to his General Chiefs of Staff and briskly walked off to his scheduled Cabinet meeting. Operation Exploding Star was about to enter its deadliest phase yet.

Commonwealth of Ontario and Boreal Columbia
1st April, 1983

Parliament Hosue, New Columbia

Alexander Lee had received reports and designs from the OSB, regarding the space mission, and the satellite. This would be a thing of pride for the Ontarian people, for them to be able to say that their nation was a space-faring one - a nation that is ready, willing and able to independently put satellites and men into space. The Prime Minister gave the OSB the go-ahead, and would allocate funds to pay for the construction of this rocket and satellite. From the reports and designs, the OSB predicted that the whole rocket could be constructed and prepared for launch by the end of the year - a Christmas present for all of Ontario.

But, Lee had turned his attention to Central America, most importantly the socialist state on the border with Mexico. This was an outrage to the Western foreign policy. The fact that the USA had done nothing about it was disgusting to the Communism-hating Ontarian people. This was a matter of shame, almost, that they had allowed such a large portion of Central America to fall to communism without intervening in any way. But, now was the time for change. Now, the Ontarian people would shame the Central American socialists, and strip them of their Caribbean possessions. Lee sent a telegram to the Ontarian Chief of Staff, and ordered him to devise a plan for the invasion of the Caribbean islands controlled by the Federal Republic of Central America - which was most, if not all, of them. He had received reports from the armed forces concerning the ballistic missile program. They would be crucial if the Ontarians were to be able to defeat the Central Americans.

To: Chief of Staff Jonathan Heap
From: Prime Minister Alexander Lee
Encryption: Top Secret

For too long we have allowed the 'Federal Republic of Central America' to exist. We must curb their influence, or face a greater threat from them in the future. The past has already shown their expansionist tendencies as they invaded and overthrew the governments of most of Central America and the Caribbean. I request you to devise and create a plan for which all the branches of our armed forces to cooperate and invade the Caribbean possessions of this Socialist state.

The Unified Orange River State

April, 1983

The five soldiers, clad in olive coloured uniforms and tightly clutching stolen AKS-74U rifles lay in the tall grass, their short-sleeved and thick shirts were tucked into their olive cargo pants which complimented their dark facial camouflage. Three of the group were White and and one was Zulu and the other Xhosa, they formed an elite special forces group 'The bonebreaker battalion' which was assigned to train illegally across the border, evading police and enemy army units. The soldiers chosen were known for their toughness, disregard for rules, and willingness to get the job done, no matter the cost. At last, they received a signal and began to advance towards a small village to the north.

United States of America
-- The World's a Stage --
May 1983

Israeli soldiers from 1982 are deployed in the (First) Lebanon War.

On May 17th, the US administered a peace negotiation that resulted in Israeli forces starting withdrawals from Lebanon. This peace was a major breakthrough for the US's administration in the Middle East. Peace and playing both sides of the Arab-Israeli conflict was important to Reagan. It was necessary to prevent either side from getting involved in communism or socialism and to provide US companies with access to their oil.

A photo of the Governor's Palace in Williamsburg, Virginia.

In May from the 28th to the 30th, the United States of America hosted the 9th G6 summit. At this summit, delegations from the US, France, West Germany, UK, Italy, and Canada were all present. Meetings of the G6 focus on issues related to the economy and multinational efforts to connect these issues. However, talks led by President Reagan at this G6 Summit also concentrated on tensions with the Soviet Union and the need for missile deployment in Europe to encourage the Soviet Union to return to arms control talks in Geneva.

In addition to the reinforcement of the double-track decision on arms control, the leaders were confronted with a stubborn world economy, double digit inflation, high interest rates and high employment. These economic conditions were stimulated, in part, due to higher oil prices in the early 1980s caused by the Iranian Revolution. The G-6 summit a year earlier had been held in Versailles, hosted by Prime Minister Mitterrand. Reagan felt that it was important to stress the importance of free markets and free trade and transparency in international dealings. After two days of debate, the leaders agreed to the Williamsburg Declaration, which stands as quite unique in terms of G-6 communiques as it was a short ten point declaration and it was read in its entirety by President Reagan seated before the other leaders The significance of the Declaration cannot be over-emphasized as it was the free market principles agreed to by the leaders at the summit that provided an international environment of free trade and investment that propelled the world economies out of economic recession toward durable economic growth of twenty years. The declaration was prepared by a small team of NSC advisers close to Reagan.

The Williamsburg Economic Summit was the only international meeting chaired by President Reagan. In retrospect it appears to have been the key turning point for not only ending the Cold War, but for inducing a period of economic prosperity based on free market policies.

(TG me if any of this is unacceptable. It's based on the IRL meeting. Hell the text is mostly copied from the wiki entry.

The Unified Orange River State

April, 1983

Five minutes after receiving the signal, the soldiers reached the village; it was clearly rural and lacked even basic amenities. Many of the buildings were huts made out of thatch and other materials, but non of that mattered now, within seconds an order was given and the soldiers coldly began firing with their AKS-74U rifles, popping skulls and making the ground a crimson red. A few men tried to resist, charging the soldiers with machetes, the soldiers in response utilised a combination of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Krav Maga to savagely beat their attackers senseless and with them the last hope of the village surviving. Sixty seconds later, the village was ablaze and burning with the strong smell of kerosine fuel lingering in the air. The soldiers soon ran off back to their border, which they crossed in record time.

Kingdom of Spain

Spain to England: "We Don't Want Gibraltar Back"

Today, the Spanish King, Juan Carlos, has announced that it is not in Spain's interests to take back Gibraltar, as an even would most likely lead to war with Morocco and the United Kingdom. He also stated that the resources needed to invade Gibraltar would likely be too much for Spain, and force Spain to file for Bankruptcy. Meanwhile, Spanish Forces pull away from Gibraltar, showing the United Kingdom good faith that they will not invade the sovereign land of Spain.

Spain to begin Counter-Insurgency training
Following a major threat from the Soviet Union and African neighbors, after joining NATO just the year before, Spain is going to begin counter-insurgency training, specifically meant to stop Soviet Advances in Spain. Though Spetznaz, a massive group of various famous Russian Spec Ops, like the Alpha Brigade, is far ahead of training, Spain plans to implement a style of training similar to that of the English SAS. Hopefully, this would be enough to deter a threat to Spain.

Spain to step up economic reforms
As Spain slowly spirals into collapsing, the government has announced to make economic reforms similar to that of West Germany. These reforms should allow the Spanish economy to boost, hopefully increasing the time before Spain must declare bankruptcy.

Spain reluctantly reinstates a military
Following the invasion of Iran by Ottoman forces, the country fears being attacked by the Ottomans themselves. Spain has now begun upping its military training, and equipment. Spain has asked the United Kingdom, America, and Western Germany to assist in re-equipping the military of Spain. Though hoping never to need to use its military, Spain fears that it must re-arm, or face total annihilation. As the Soviet Union seems to be growing stronger, Spain begins to fear a NATO v USSR war, surely the war to end all wars. Spain has also secretly begun a clause of "Free Germany", to allow a more powerful Germany to exist as a buffer state.

Spanish Warships head to South America to meet with various Governments
Four Spanish Frigates have lifted from port in Almeria, heading towards the Coast of South America. Planning to send the Warships into US Waters first, for hopefully refueling from the Americans, would then head to South America, landing some military commanders in Brazil to speak with the countries, and gain their trust. Hopefully, a forged alliance there would deter all threats to Spain, and allow others to have free trade with Spain. This would also allow both the economy of Spain and various economies of South America increase.
I'm some 17 year old psuedo-libertarian who leans to the left in social terms, is fiercly right economically, and centrist in foriegn policy. Unapologetically Pro-American, Pro-NATO, even if we do fuck up (a lot). If you can find real sources that disagree with me I will change my opinion. Call me IHOP cause I'm always flipping.

Vänern, Läckö Slott, The Riksminister's Office
April 1983, 17:00

Image

Läckö Slott, a proud castle on the brink of the Vänern Lake. Built in the Middle Ages and long serving as a palace for the nobility but now, it was one of the Social Democrats main seats, and as such also one of the Governments, as the two were used as almost synonyms. And now, as spring was arriving, the Prime Minister Wanellius had moved the Administration from Stockholm to Läckö Slott, temporarily at least. They would return to Stockholm shorlty before the Emperor's Birthday and the celebrations that would ensue. Despite the Social Democrats original wishes, the abolition of the monarchy and aristocracy is no longer in the official party programme, being removed by Wannelius after some fighting within the Party. Now the Party was even seen as a pro-monarchy and aristocracy party, Wannelius having reformed the aristocratic system to make sure that each nobled person would recieve a state pension to make sure that they would live a respectable life. He had also exempted the nobility from the common inheritance laws, and made a new law which ensured that the nobles could surrender all their lands to their eldest son.

He had also made sure that more people would be nobled, the last one to be nobles was at the turn of the century before the reforms. Something that had earned the Prime Minister a knighthood and a Knight of the Royal Order of the Seraphim. He had a good relation with the Emperor, and also a good relation with the soon to be Emperor. The young Crown Prince Gustaf. His older brother, Carl Gustaf had surrendered his right to the throne when he married a commoner, a German too. And they now live together on a farm in Germany. Wanellius still could not understand how he would give up an entire Realm for a simple farm, still, the former Crown Prince had always been a simple man.

Alas, there were other concerns. Negotiations with the Communist Party and the Bourgeoisie had failed, and the Emperor had ensured them that His Majesty would not give anyone else the privilege of forming a Government, so now there was a deadlock in the Parliament. Something that would have to be solved by a re-election. The only problem was, that perhaps they would not gain a majority needed to break the deadlock, and perhaps even lose votes. And then the Emperor's patience might run out and he would offer the Governmental privilege to the bourgeoisie, breaking the rule of the Social Democratic Party. A rule that had never been broken in the history of the Nordic as a unified state, and Wanellius Swedish predecessors had ruled since the early 1930s, for soon half a century. And he would not be the one to break that streak, he just didn't know how he would prevent that. Something needed to be done.

The Prime Minister heard a knock on the door and looked up as he saw his Minister of Finance, Erik Larsson.
"Ah, Erik. Please, come in." The Prime Minister stated as his colleeague walked up to his desk, closing the door behind him.
"Now, I have been thinking. As this re-election seems rather imminent, and the current opinion polls seem to show a rather meagre result of around 44%, something must be done." The Prime Minister grunted and looked at the small stack of papers that the Minister of Finance carried.
"What would you be suggesting?" He asked behind his desk, leaning forward and putting his elbows on his desk.
"Reforms, Gustaf. Reforms." Erik Larsson answered as he put the stack of paper onto the desk.

Total Korporativistisk
implementering i det
Nordiska Riket

The title was a bold one, the Prime Minister thought as he scrambled through the pages.
"Total implentation?" The Prime Minister began as he read a part of the paper.
"It is just a draft so far, but I and some others believe it can be something new to get the people to vote for the Party and to get ourselves out of this, poor economy."
"Hmm... You do not think it could be, a bit too harsh? And what would be the actual changes even?"
"Well, it's not all clear yet but it would include the opening of a new departement, the Departement of Social Order, which would see to the implementing of these ideas, along with the Policial Authority. A long with some new laws and reforms which would among other things include an extended control of the Trade Union and the Business Organization, an Agency for Youth within the Departement of Social Order, which would enforce a more regulated control of people in young ages between 18-30 to get them into society, and possible Overseers to be issued in special cases."

"Well..." Gustaf Wannelius said as he leaned back in his chair again. "It sure is an extensive reform package. And a good bit on the way towards the New Society. However do you think this will be so, well accepted by the people?"
"I am sure we will be able to convince the Trade Union to join in on this, and we'll make sure that the Industry joins in too, we'll institute a lowring of the wages to combat the rise in unemployment and provide a boost in the economy. And the people will just be wanting reforms. And if you agree, I'll get to work on a more extensive solution." The Prime Minister then shot himself away from the desk slowly, extending his legs and resting in the desk chair.
"Well, alright. You have my clearnace. Also tell Jan to organise a meeting with the Finns about this, I am quite sure that it will be imperative that we keep equal steps on these matters."
"Thank you, Gustaf." The Minister of Finance smiled as he stepped out of the Office.

The cars passed by in the city of Riyadh, every person went on their daily business, the desert was as hot as ever with no signs of life other than that of the city. What a contrast. The life in the city and the life in the desert were two very different ones yet they coexisted one adjacent to the other. Thanks to the discovered oil reserves, Arabia's capital was experiencing an economic boom. But the government's joy didn't last. With the rising green initiatives and the reports from experts that the gift to the Arabian people, oil, isn't infinite, the King was worried. He was worried that his country's economic would collapse into shambles. As an educated man, King Fahd knew about those historic empires that collapsed because they weren't able to diversify their economies; he was decided to not make Arabia one of them. For the reason, King Fahd and his economic advisers engineered a plan that could diversify the Arabian economy as much as possible. The result: The Oasis of the Middle East.

Image
The Oasis of the Middle East Investment Program

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hereby creates this investment program with the goal of diversifying the economy to standards recommended by economists and global experts. To this end, the Arabian government hereby creates the following policies for foreign entities interested in investing in Saudi Arabia:

- New metal manufacturing factories shall receive a complete tax exemption (sales tax, property tax, etc.) for the next 8 years.
- New housing projects shall be exempted from any construction taxation.
- New chemical plants shall receive a complete tax exemption (sales tax, property tax, etc.) for the next 8 years.

Additionally, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will give the following tax cuts for 5 years:

- Metal manufacturing complexes - 15%
- Chemical Plants - 15%
- Retail and services - 25%

The government encourages the people to save as much money as possible in order to prepare for any economic need in the future.

The Arabian government hoped to increase the flow of investment into the country and diversify its economy. With the rising tensions in the world, Arabia could not depend on the consumption of oil of others. It is evident that the main income will be oil but the more the dependency is, the best.

Socialist Democratic People's Republic of Sudan

Khartoum, Capital of the Sudanese People's Republic (SPR)
April 1983
Headquarters of the SKR

After around a week or two of torture, as Matt had not been able to keep exact track as the days had rolled on, he realized Gregory Savaya had been right in telling Matt they were the Sudanese KGB equivalent, and that he would make Matt's life a living hell. He sat in the cell with Henry Genva, the NBIA Intelligence Operative assigned to his now dead task force, sat in the cold, dark cell in the jail sector of the Headquarters, apparently single-handedly committed to making people squawk. Genva, a trained Intelligence Operative was trained to never say information, even if a knife was sifting its way through his spine and into his lungs. Matthew DeLovie; Matt however, was just a soldier. The conditions were wearing on his torn, hungry, and beaten body. He felt like one of his friends who had been beaten as a kid. Now I know what he went through, Matt thought. Genva, sat on the other end of the cell. It was a double-decked bed, sitting in the center of the cell, with two chairs, a sink, and a toilet with no seat. Genva had thrown up the first day, apparently NBIA Officers weren't supposed to or did get captured very often.
Genva said something to Matt. "You know, you better not start squawking anything they can use against the homeland." Genva said. "My mouth is trained to be shut, your's is trained to bark orders and start flapping like a cockadoo's mouth." He said. Matt got up from his seat. He was suddenly filled with anger, and Henry had been anything but cooperative in the past two weeks. He grabbed the makeshift knife he had made from a piece of rusty copper from the railing next to the toilet. It was sharp enough to kill. He put it in his pocket though. He realized Henry was a fool, but he needed to get himself and Henry out of here. He had been working on a possible escape plan, and had sharpened the rail into a knife without the guards hearing from outside the cell block door, which their cell happened to be on the very end to hear quite well, but could not tell Henry it if the guards were currently listening. He simply approached Henry, grabbed him by the collar of his prison sweatsuit, and whispered ever so softly into his ear; "Follow my lead." He then started: "You two-faced piece of shit, this is all your fault!" Throwing the Desk jockey officer across the cell and into the wall, enough for a loud bang to entice through the prison walls. He grabbed him, Henry barely bruised knowing the throw was coming, and threw him onto the bed, grabbed a chair, and smashed it hard against the post holding up the bunk. At that point, two guards rushed in, and the cells began to clammer with approval of the fight. They opened the door with the keys, and came in, pulling Matt back, and then grabbing Henry. As one made his move looking back towards Matt to restrain him, it was already too late, and the knife sunk in his chest by the time he had halfway turned around. This African man fell, and the Russonese man accompanying him, ducked out of the blow of the knife, but was caught by a kick to the jaw, with Henry then applying a chokehold, and silencing him. Matt realized there were few seconds left before more guards would be there without the return of the other two. He grabbed the African's gun, as Henry unholstered the Russonese man's one, and grabbed the keys. He unlocked the next three cell doors next to theirs, throwing the keys to the prisoners, and a riot ensued with them bursting out the still opened block-doorway. That doorway led to the desk where prisoners were photographed, and guards were put on alert, as well as a large waiting-room section and a section dedicated to interrogation rooms. Guards from the SKR either shot or tried to detain the prisoners, as families waiting to speak to their arrested sons and daughters by this evil state security agency went running for cover. Soldiers from the Sudan People's Army, the ground branch of the Sudanese Red Army of SRA, stormed the jail building, just adjacent to the HQ itself, and also close to the complex that housed the leaders of the various branches of the SRA and the Office of the CINC or Commander in Chief. Matt tried to hurry viciously threw the main lobby and find a backdoor, but he came face to face with Gregory Savaya, the man who had personally tortured him and a high ranked member of the SKR. He was a Russian and he was a bastard. Matt went to raise his weapon, but Gregory already had his raised and fired a shot to the right of Matt, hitting Henry, who had been running while looking behind him towards the lobby, with his head turned sideways. The bullet ripped open through his chest, and he sprawled to the ground, his orange colored prison suit mimicking the cherry blood pouring from his chest. He died in a second, and Matt went to raise his gun and looked back towards Gregory, but he was already right in front of him, and his pistol was already next to Matt's left shoulder. He fired into it, ripping the tendons and gushing out blood. But it was a shot he knew he'd survive.

Meeting of the Politburo
Specially Made to Accompany Senior SKR Officer Gregory Savaya

The meeting began. The Premier; Jean Paul Abboud spoke. "Officer Savaya, this meeting was officially made to insure that your current project interrogating Dutch Military Soldier Mathew DeLovie and NBIA Officer Henry Genva is going according to your directives. Contrary to your reports, it seems that did not go accordingly, with today's prison riot. Report!" The Premier shouted. Defense Minister Alexander Lanvik shook in his chair. Abboud had appointed him his successor, since he was dying from a heart-valve failure. But he was still a nasty old bastard. "Sir, the riot today occurred because unaware to me or the guards, DeLovie had acquired a weapon, a railing from the toilet made into a makeshift knife. The riot was dispersed, with all prisoners accounted for and Genva being shot by myself. He died seconds later." Gregory stiffened. "And why did you kill him?" Abboud asked. "Because sir, he was a high ranked member or at least valued field agent for NBIA and they have extensive training similar to us, that they will not talk regardless of harsh punishment. I feared if I let him live, he would help DeLovie recover from his stress by helping him." He said. "I see," Abboud said. "And of DeLovie?" "Currently in a maximum security cell. It has nothing able to make into a weapon, it was searched far and wide. The bed and everything with it is screwed to the floor, and has nothing rusting or sharp that can be pealed off." He said. I have a 10 man security team watching him from the one way-mirror that revolves 360 degrees around the outside exterior of the cell, which is made of iron steel and a titanium alloy. A door goes from the cell door to the wall the mirrors are placed on, so that he has two doors to get threw now. And with Genva dead, he has no one else. He WILL crack sir." Gregory insisted. "If you pull this off." Abboud said, you'll be in the running for adviser to SKR Minister Facob Retnaz" He said, gesturing towards Gregory's superior. "In the meantime, Egypt has been calling, demanding the release of DeLovie." The Premier said. "And what have we replied sir?" Gregory asked. "We've replied we do not have custody of him. They don't know we killed the team. We sealed the border, and guards are now patrolling the hole they snuck through. For all they know, they're MIA, but they're accusing us, and we're claiming we don't have them." He said. "The Dutch also grow impatient, and their nationalism levels of preferring to go to war, have brought the Congo and them ever so together." He said. "But, you do your job, and the government will do its. Dismissed." The Premier said, as the Politburo adjourned.

FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF EGYPT

Cairo, Egypt
April 1838

President Anwar Sadet slammed his fist into his desk. He was not happy with the current turn of events in Sudan, and realized that the joint operation the Dutch had largely committed to had failed. Now, he has President Klerck on the line every other hour asking for updates, and his Cabinet was desperately trying to make efforts to talk to negotiators for the Sudanese side to release what they believed to be either the whole team or its leaders; Matthew DeLove and Henry Genva. The Sudanese Negotiators however, insisted they did not possess them. They claimed they were possibly MIA, but at the same time, denounced the efforts that Dutch troops had entered the sovereign soil of the SPR. However, hope emerged. A GDI or General Intelligence Directorate Officer called the President's office. He claimed he had an informant working for him on the line that he had reportedly seen the missing DeLovie, reported by a FREE-SUDAN Radio Channel from across the border with Egypt. With little time, the man had described DeLovie to his exact specifications. The President hung up the phone. He looked at his Secretary of Defense Hardani Karos, and Prime Minister Kareem Bata, and said: "Get a Press Conference Ready, We're Going to War!"

The cameras clicked, the video cameras started rolling, and Anwar Sadet began his press conference. Standing in the Press Conference Room of the Nile Residence, the Egyptian White House Equivalent, Sadet spoke; "At approximately two weeks ago from this date, in late March, 1983, the Dutch government was operating a squad of forces inside Sudan's borders in an effort to appropriately recon the situation and caliber of possible weapons of mass destruction, Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, and SCUD Missile Launchers reported, as well as bases and quantity of weapons and soldiers. Those forces have gone missing in action. For a full two weeks, on behalf of the Dutch government we have pleaded with Sudanese leaders to free them, as they are believed to be in captivity. Finally, a day ago, an eyewitness has reported that he saw the leader of this squad during a prison riot in the jailhouse of the headquarters of the Intelligence Agency of the People's Republic; the SKR. The Federal Republic of Egypt believes the Sudanese have tortured Mr. Mathew DeLovie, but believe he is still alive in a new location under arrest by the SKR. We know that the Sudanese lied to us and with a foreign man's life in the balance, the Federal Republic of Egypt 45 minutes ago approximately raised its READYCON Level 2, making that heightened military awareness and foreign military intervention. As such, the Federal Republic of Egypt declares war on the Sudanese People's Republic.

Al-Nafka, Large Border Town 35 Miles East of
Main Border Town Wadi Halfa

General Ferdinand Ganem, an Egyptian Military Commander directed by Secretary of Defense Hardani Koros and his Joint Force Chief of Staff Bardoni Raba. He moved the 105th Egyptian Armored Cavalry Unit of the Egyptian Federal Army across the border of Egypt, into Al-Nafka, and was surpirsed to find barely any troops stationed there. They had ll retreated to the South. They began bombarding the APC's IFV's and other Humvee and jeeps of the 105th. It had around 50 Wheeled APC's, 35 Treaded IFV's and 70-80 Jeeps and Humvees as well as an estimated 8,000 man task force. Ganem realized that he could advance no farther, and pulled back until steps could be brought to take down that artillery. Unfortunately, for the next 5 days, his troops were hunkered down, and the artillery advanced, attacking the Northern section of the city, killing civilians in the conflict, and destroying most of the IFV's and half the APC's with half the man now stranded without suitable mobilized units to retreat, Ganem, the only General to put boots into Sudan for now while General Farhad Atiyeh kept border skirmishes to a minimum in the West, General Jetsu Bishara kept units from Sudan occupied in the West, and General Daqar Zogby kept standstill conflicts in the Central North of Sudan, AKA the Central South of Egypt, and trying to keep units clear of moving East from the Center towards Ganem's forces. Ganem was prepared to dig in and fight it out WWI style trench warfare if necessary. Meanwhile, the Egyptian Carrier Federal Navy Ships or FNS Anubis mobilized in the Suez Canal, and starting moving towards the Northern half of the Red Sea.
In turn, the Sudanese self-made carriers or PCC mobilizing. There were 4, with two more planned for 1984. The Red Comet and Russiya Sudanya were mobilized into the Southern Red, near the port city of Halaib on the coastal boundary line. In turn, the two others; Immortal and Hammer & Sickle were mobilized in Port Sudan, ready for deployment. In addition, the regular fleets of these countries have also been mobilized.

DUTCH REPUBLIC OF THE NETHERLANDS

President Klerck held his own press conference. "While the Dutch Republic echoes the statements of the Egyptian President and his office and cabinet, and publicly denounces the Regime in Sudan, our country is not in the current state to go to war, despite growing and rising popular demand for such a conflict based on the fact Mathew DeLovie was both a loved man in the Homeland and the Congo, that the Dutch Commonwealth is now increasingly happy with the Dutch Homeland and will be glad to assist and allow troops to mobilize through the Congo, in order to attack the soft underbelly of Sudan. In the meantime, the Dutch Foreign Army will continue to root out insurgency from the Northern and Eastern regions of the Congo, but at the current time, the Congolese people, for the most part, have expressed that if the Dutch handle this war correctly, with the fewest casualties possible made to Congolese natives at least, that they will be here to stay for the long run. The Dutch officially denounce the regime in Sudan, and freeze all assets of any foreign trade partners there, although my sources tell me the communist country maintains no free enterprises partnered with Dutch corporations. We will continue to follow the escalating conflict in Sudan and Egypt in the meantime. Thank You."

The People's Front for Socialism

London, England, April 1983

The First National Bank of Britain was apart of a sizable chain of banks across England called the National Bank of Britain. It may very well have been the most well to do location. It was perfect for the People's Front to target. A white male dressed in a cheap casual beige suit, black dress shoes, and black shades walked through the door. He had a brown scruffy beard that matched his suit as well as brown hair that would roam around his head slightly past his shoulders in any other case. In this case it was tightly slicked back. Nothing but evil on his mind, he continued to walk toward a teller at the front, coal-black suitcase clenched in his left hand.

The bank was spacious, but not extremely spacious. It was the busiest time of the week, when everyone was getting off work and cashing in checks mostly, but also ones who were setting up accounts or discussing finances at desks. The desks lined up against the walls on both ends also some toward the middle and entrance. The man pushed by someone upset about the line, "aye watch it bud!" The unhappy man hollered.

The man stopped, turned back at the disgruntled worker, put his right hand on his chest and said with a frown, "terribly sorry mate! Really am!" The mystery man said, having to yell due to all the noise being made. They were in the middle and mystery man looked around with a confused look on his face and yelled "Elizabeth! Elizabeth?" Mystery man looked around some more going back to the disgruntled man, "Listen mate, I really am sorry about runnin' into yeah and all but could yeah hold my case I think I see my gal ova' there." The Aussie sounding gentleman explained while pointing to a woman standing by the door. Disgruntled Brit shook his head with a curious look on his face and held the briefcase with his right hand, some papers in his left.

"Thanks be right back," Aussie said with a wink than he was off jogging threw the crowds and through the door. He waved both his hands up at a black beat up van parked in an alley across the street. Almost instantaneously a load bang, only to be described as a bomb went off inside, detonated. Followed instantly by screams quite audible from outside, it was filled with nails as well. By the time citizens outside can figure out who's what, the Aussie disappeared and the van screeched away down the street and out of sight.

---

A letter made from a typewriter, whose author wore tight gloves, was found in the mailbox of a low-level reporter across town an hour later. It read as such:

We, the People's Front for Socialism, were responsible for the attack at that fine Capitalist watering hole today. We socialists are in the midst of a struggle against capitalistic greed, disgusting in it's form. Turn from your rat like ways, or we'll use our red hand to bring Britain to it's knees. Expect us.

Col.AbdulAziz was sitting in the conference room where he and his Cabinet met daily. All the Secretaries were there and gave their daily reports to him and advice on the next course of action. The Colonel lit another cigar and began to puff on it. The Secretaries awaited for him to start the meeting allowing him to take his time. Col.AbdulAziz casually puffed on his cigar while he readied his papers in front of him. He took a sip of water and cleared his throat;
" Alright gentlemen, lets get down business. Give me the rundown of whats happening in my country.

The Secretary of Finances Al-Bashir first spoke,
" Well sir, our economy is thriving at the moment Secretary of Energy and I have devised a plan to develop the 200 billion gallons of oil in Iraq. Over the next decade 35 new oil wells and 8 new refineries. These massive new constructions should employ a little less than a million people if not more. We expect new revenues to sky rocket off the charts. The Republic should be oiled within no time, Mr.President. Onto other more reports, I have taken the liberty to open up an education fund, 2 billion dollars have been invested in it. The University of Constantinople is the most prestigious university in the Middle East, but recently our education system has been underfunded our schools almost resemble those of the US. The Secretary of Education and Academics and I have plans to renovate schools across the Republic, replace outdated books, build more playgrounds, and finally made it a requirement for every new school to have a library. This will cost less than 2 billion dollars but the excess funds gives the schools extra cushion to make purchases needed.

Col.AbdulAziz knew that a strong economy was needed to fund more of him more ambitious projects. So whatever his Secretary of Finances said would make more money he agreed and approved of.Next who spoke was Secretary of War and Defense Al-Assad,
[b][i]" Mr.President sir, our efforts in Iran, uhh... excuse me I mean Persia sir forgive me, are being drawn out. We are at a stalemate sir. This is thinning our resources the longer this stalemate continues. I have called up 600,000 more soldiers and put them through 6 weeks of basic training in the meantime I have called up 250,000 troops from our reserves, this will cost around 4-6 billion dollars. Our engineers only managed to ready about 400 or so T-55's and 150 T-64's. We still have about 1200 BMP-1's in our armories ready to go, we have about 250 on the Tabriz line alone and another 300 in Baghdad. 200,000 troops are on the Tabriz Line ready for the assault as soon as the chemical missiles have arrived which are in Kirikuk and expected to arrive in 2-3 days depending on how clear the road is of Persian forces. We have sent gas masks and medical supplies to our front-line soldiers. I have notified Air Marshal Khazan to prep 75 Mil Mi 24 choppers and possibly devise an aerial assault and troop transport operation. Just for precautionary measure 500,000 conscripts are going to undergo basic training as well, sir I know this will take a toll on both the economy and domestic production but this is necessary for victory. All this should be ready in a month's time. Tabriz needs to be captured in order for Operation Exploding Star to presume, High Command is considering implementing Operation Hollow Skull and you know what will happen if that occurs.

Alright, now moving onto defense procedures Persian forces have penetrated Iraq and have begun an offensive into Baghdad we don't know what were exactly going up against but as you have requested 75,000 troops of our Republican Guard have been

German Chancellor Heinreich Keitel steps up to the podium for a speech.

Today our Fatherland of Germany sits in a world of uncertainties and violence. Ever since the dark days of the Second World War, the world has been poised as if it was a tinder box, ready to explode, bringing humanity with it. But, at the same time, Germany is also poised as a powerful force in this world of uncertainty. That is the world as I come into this most illustriout office as Bundezkanzler of the Federal Republic of Germany. Now, what does this mean? Well, I as Chancellor will attempt to use our fortunate status as a nation to help other nations in this world of uncertainty. However, the first and most important goal in probobally all of our minds is reunification with our brethren in East Germany.

Islamic Republic of Iran

February, 1983
After two and a half years peace was finally signed between Iraq and Iran; The streets where flooded by people celibrating the victory over Iraq. Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini praised the army and the militia's for the victory, he was proud of his people, seeing that his tactic had worked. For three days people came together to say goodby to those who fell in the war, the week following those days where full of celibrations. Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini held a speech at the very last day of the celibrations right in Tehran. "Today we mark the day of a great victory for our country, a victory that will be rememberd for ages, a victory that will last. Today we mark the day of a new era, an era where we will deside our own future, an era where we are in charge!". The crowd went wild, praising their leader. Iran was going to enter a new time, a time of progress and peace.

March, 1983
Iran had mostly returned to its regular lives, the war was still a hot debate and the new regions where being intergrated into Iran.
Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini had some other buisness though, for him there lied the tough job of running the country. He had a few important matters that had to get done as soon as possible. At the first place there was an OPEC meeting, wich was important for Iran to hold. Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini sended out the invitations himself.

Meeting OPEC members

Iran personally invites all OPEC members to Tehran for a crisis meeting on the following matters:
-Oil Prices
-Oil export
-Oil producement

We await all members on July 6 in Tehran's OPEC Headquarter.

Signed by,
Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini

The second matter was a more personal one, now that the region closed in Iran was in need of a strong ally to counter any other major powers. The first though was the USSR, but they only cared about making money out of it, such choice would be a bad one for Iran to take. India however appeared to be a better choice, India hadn't really found a regional ally and so this was a good oppertunity for Iran to move in on that matter. Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini wrote a letter to India, hoping that they where respond on this call. He wanted to meet in person with the Indian officials to increase the speed of the progress.

The Federal Republic of India

Iran seeks to improve the relations with India; There are many matters Iran is open for to discuss. We desire a meeting on May 12 on a location of your desire.
Economicly we can gain alot from eachother, export deals could both increase our cooperation aswell as it would serve our national intrests. Iran also seeks the possibility for military and diplomatic increasements.

Signed by,
Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini

At last there was Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini's own little project. The Western forces in Lebanon pose a threat to the Middle-East and its surroundings. Since Lebanon had a significant Shia populations Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini saw the need for a stable power for the Shias to rely on in times of need.
A plan was made up and a few Iranian officials where going to work with it as soon as possible.

-2,000 Starting members Military
-Funding of $2 million each year
-Solely based on the Intrests of the Shia population in Lebanon

With those points the officials would see what they could do. The first major matter was to find a strong and wise leader for the organization.

April, 1983
Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini had gained more and more intrest in the establishment of a new pact to counter the western and eastern ones. Becouse the Muslim world was so devided he had to start out small, looking at Mutual defense pacts to counter outside nations that dared to attack the Muslim states. He sended out a letter to those who lied in his intrest.

For long we have been opressed by outside nations, for long we were forced to submit to outside powers. Still there are Islamic nations that fall under the rule of outsiders. We invite you all to Isfahan on June 20 to make outselves free from outside influence and to keep outselves safe from it in the future. We propose a pact that will obligate us to help eachother if one of our nations is being attacked in any way by an outside nations. We Muslims have to stand with eachother to oppose those that want us under their rule.

April 10
Iran once again faced another threat, the war with Iraq had just ended and now it where the Ottomans who thought they could push Iran around. Luckly, thanks to the fact that Iran was still in state of war they had already taken notice of the attack a few weeks before it happend. Once the Ottomans invaded it was clear that action would be undertaken, Ruhollah Mostafavi Moosavi Khomeini stated that Iran would not back down from this attack and that it would do everything within its power to protect its borders and its people.
A rough one million troops where send from the newly gained Iraqi regions to the Tabriz Line. The line had been created to hold back the Ottomans untill reinforcements arrived. The battle was already going on and it was clear that this war would get more deadly then the one with Iraq. Civillians in the region where told to flee to safer grounds. 600 Tanks, 700 Armoured vehicles, 400 Artillery pieces, 250 Aircrafts and 400 Helicopters where also transported to the region to fight the Ottomans. Behind the line, cities where being prepared for a strong defense, once these where finished the men on the line slowely retreated into the cities, building up the total forces in the region to almost 1,5 million men. In Iraq itself another million men stood on high alert, making them available to attack at any time.

At the Persian Gulf Iranian ships where send to encounter all Ottoman ships, both military and civillian ones. They where also orderd to blockade the Strait of Hormuz for all Ottoman ships. This was the most effective and the most easiest tactic for Iran to make sure their borders on the sea where safe.

As the war went on the demand for weapons increased aswell, The Iranian defense ministary sended out multiple letters to seek out weapon deals that would uhold Iran's defenses.

The aircrafts available for offer are 3 fighter aircrafts and 2 bomber aircrafts, one currently in final stages of development.

We hope to receive a message back from al-Maghrib & al-Awsat Government.

It is with great interest that we see your offer to us; as you have been the only one to reply so far. It should be noted that we must evaluate the ships first with maneuvers and testing to see the feasibility of such a program. But know this would be something:
1) We are requesting the services needed to be built to support and build more ships for our navy is created here.
2) Any new project can be developed by both sides, we have certain, "Deterrence" weapons.
3) We receive any type of training the other may lack.
4) We work with each other closely to repel the threat of both blocks.

As with you, the al-Maghrib al-Awsaṭ is a completely neutral country in this, "Cold war" however; recent developments have shown that we must acquire new allies in face of pressure to join one block or the other. I am herby inviting a high level delegate to our capital to discuss a possible alliance treaty.

The Unified Orange River State

June, 1983

With the World in its present condition, several military parades have occurred with various settlements; the largest at Bloemfontain with over 3,000 troops and 30 Olifant tanks. Many soldiers also spent the day talking with citizens and family who lined the streets, members of the official Samoan Battalion - Composed of Samoan immigrants, performed a war dance from their native island chain. Meanwhile, President Vrijgraaf had begun to write a message.

Dear Leaders of the Netherlands and all possessions.

Hello, Sir.

I, Peter Vrijgraaf would like to propose an economic and military partnership between our two countries. After all, the majority of this country, myself included came here 200 years ago, on the ambitions of your government. The military partnership will involve research into various things, such as small arms and tank designs, while the economic will allow us to sell our precious metals to your nation at a much lower cost than compared to a nation like the Ottoman Empire.

Signed,

Peter Vrijgraaf, President of the Unified Orange River State.

Then another letter was written.

Holiest Leader of Iran,

Sir, I assume that the Unified Orange River State could be of some help during your war against the cowardly Ottomans. This is exactly why the Unified Orange River State is willing to send 50 Special Forces soldiers, along with 35 Olifant Tanks to Iran to prevent them breaking through the Tabriz Region.

However, we must ask for a small 10% discount on future oil and gas purchases, for the next 10 years.

Signed, Peter Vrijgraaf, President of the Unified Orange River State

"Friends, comrades. I welcome you to this 1st of May celebration, this Day of the Workers' in the city of Copenhagen where the Social Democratic Party and the National Trade Union Confederation hosts their annual celebration for this day." A round of applause fell down as the leader of the National Trade Union Stig Malm began his speech.
"I wish to emphasize what great accomplishments we as a people have made during this decade, despite the hardening economic climate in this world and in the realm. However there will always be room for improvement on our constant striving for the New Society and towards the Utopia."

The Trade Unionist looked down at the audience, fixing his gaze upon the Prime Minister who sat in the center of the first row as he also took a sip of his glass of water.
"There will always be obstacles on the road to the future, but these obstacles can always and will always be overcome by our collective effort, as a people, not only as workers. And we all, together, as a people. We must strive, and we must work to that future. Teachers, nurses, metal workers, doctors, police officers and postmen. And yes, even the company directors!" A combination of laughter and applauds came from the audience.
"Therefore, I am proud to present to you, the people of the Realm, together with Herr Riksminister Wannelius the Social Democratic plan for a new Nordic, a plan for a better Nordic. For all. A promise of a better nation for our children to grow up in, for our parents to grow old in and our ancestors to be proud of." A long pause then followed as the speaker surveyed the audience.

"It will not be easy. We must work diligently in the sweat of our own brows to accomplish this goal, for work is the liberation of the soul. But from our great and industrious work we shall gain the fruits of our laobur and reach the common goal of a better future, for which we can all feel proud and which will stand the test of time. For this we will accomplish, kinsmen, for Gud, Kejsare och Fosterland!"
The crowd repeated the final words , as they stood up and applauded as Malm stepped down from the podium and shook hands with the Prime Minister and then sat down beside him on the first row.

"Great speech, Stig. Erik and I will announce the whole reform package and then the Emperor will make it known that new elections will be held in September. It will all be well." The Prime Minister said as he leaned over to his colleague.
"Thank you, Gustaf. I hope the Government knows what it's doing with all of this. But I'll stand with you regardless, it is for a good purpose." Stig Malm replied as he looked on as the next speaker, the leader for the Danish part of the Social Democratic Party.

The Government of the Empire of the North has sent this message to the Government of the Democratic Republic of al-Maghrib al-Awsaṭ to discuss matters of military arms.

We are pleased to have received a response from the al-Maghrib & al-Awsat Government, and are glad with the positive matter. We can also say that if the Democratic Republic of al-Maghrib al-Awsaṭ wants to have a larger part in these then it can be so that the bomber SAAB 40 and the destroyer class HMS Kronan can be co-developed together with the Democratic Republic of al-Maghrib al-Awsaṭ. This would also open the door for future development of new projects between our two nations.

Regarding the training, the Nordic Realm is fully prepared to train soldiers of the Democratic Republic of al-Maghrib al-Awsaṭ in any way that is necessary, an exchange of knowledge is always beneficial. It may also be a plan to work together to preserve our common neutrality in this world between the Western and the Eastern Blocs. And as such the Nordic Realm will send the diplomat Lennart Bodström to discuss these matters.

To: The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran

The Government of the Empire of the North has sent this message to the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding the matter of the conflict between Iran and its neighbour the Ottoman Republic.

We would like to see peace and stability in the Middle East region, as I am sure that the Islamic Republic of Iran would as well, however as a conflict now seems to be escalating in the region, the Nordic Realm would wish to offer military weapons and arms to the Islamic Republic of Iran to aid it in its conflict against the Ottoman Republic. We suspect that the Islamic Republic of Iran would be interested in fighter/bombers, tanks, artillery and small arms, all which the Nordic Realm can offer to a reasonable price.

LIVE ADDRESS FROM THE PRESIDENTIAL PALACE
Good Evening my fellow Ottomans,
These are trying times our country is in. With the economy in an unpredictable shape and the war raging on the future holds uncertainty. But, I'm here to assure you that our nation will prevail stronger than ever. The war with the Persians has changed in our favor and I intend to crush them, therefore I'm here to announce a 1,000,000 man draft. These brave souls will cripple whats left of the Persian country. I know the risks to this but it is a sacrifice I'm willing to make in order to ensure the Fatherlands sovereignty. To uphold our nations pride is priority one.

In the past weeks we have made significant progress in the fields of education and healthcare. I'm please to announce the grand opening of the AbdulAziz University here in our beautiful Constantinople. It is equipped with a medical school and a law school. The future generation is what is going to succeed our nation and strive further than any other country on the planet. It is my duty as leader to cultivate the young minds of the next generation to ensure that our country's future is full of innovators, inventors, lawyers, politicians, CEO's, teachers, doctors, Soldiers!Education is one my administrations top priority and I will hold it as a moral and value. People all over the Middle East will flock to our Universities.

Hospitals are under construction throughout the Republic. The new Insurance plan allows reduced cost for families at or below the average median income. Coverage is emphasized greatly under this new law, for families to be treated for the illness will ensure that our people will live longer and exceed those around them in lifespan. Clinics too have accepted this new insurance program and now local communities and finally receive the treatment they deserve. These are only a few of many great plans my administration will institute.

My people, these past few weeks much has been achieved. Domestic Security is among my top priorities as you all know. Just a month ago over 1200 suspected terrorist and terrorist sympathizers were arrested, tried and convicted, and executed. Terrorism will not be tolerated. The people have earned their peace at mind and no terrorist from anywhere will break or shatter that. That is why I have anted up the National Police and heightened security measures to ensure that your protection is possible. Yes some liberties will have to be given but this is a sacrifice you have to be willing to take in order to ensure your security, your freedom, your livelihoods. Think about your children, you wife, family. The Persians are a known state sponsor of terrorism therefore they must be eliminated.

Speaking of the Persians, the front line has extended and we have made significant gains in the past 2 months. Over 1,000,000 million soldiers are fighting valiantly in Persia to preserve our nations integrity, pride, and sovereignty. This mass draft may seem frightening at first but eventually you'll come to appreciate your sons, fathers, and brothers fighting and keeping an enemy at bay. Be assure my people that these Persians will soon be tamed.

Thank you and may God bestow his mercy and blessings on you all. Long Live the Ottoman Federal Republic!

After the speech the Colonel got up from his desk and sped off towards the War Room. He rushed down the massive hallway filled with marble pillars, saluting multiple Palace and Presidential Guards. As he entered the corridor where the War Room was located at two guards saluted him and opened the doors. Immediately he walked briskly over to his Generals and began planning.

War Room, Presidential Palace, Constantinople
Col.AbdulAziz looked frustrated. His Generals knew he was tense, the room felt the Colonels anxiety. To put him at ease Gen.Mubarak began;
Sir, much of our forces have arrived at the Tabriz line. An extra 1,350,000 reinforcements. These preparations took an entire month and all of May. Intel, however, has captured images of reinforced Persian positions. High Command believes that they too have 1 million men. This will test our forces mettle. I have come down with a list of equipment that we have deployed to the front lines in Tabriz;
- 1,800,000 soldiers total
-400 T-55's
-200 T-64's
-150 M60A3's
-200 Type 59's
- 500 various towed artillery
- 250 MLSR's
- 600 BMP-1's
- 700 supply trucks
- 400 Flaks, SAM systems, and ZSU's

This war has drawn much of our military hardware and capabilities and has a chance to escalate further. Operation Exploding Star has been replaced with Operation Rising Moon. This new Operation has completely changed our offense strategy and no more puny little weak assaults. It is mutually agreed that from now on if we are going to launch any assaults there going to be offensives. We're going to throw everything at them, artillery tanks, aircraft you name it. The objective is still to take Tabriz but we think there is a weak flank of the Persian line near the Kasul Hills. High Command thinks that if we launch an offensive there that we might be able to make a breakthrough in the lines and flood it with troops. Any offense we commit now will take heavy casualties same is expected for the Persians. We have created a supply depot, military base and air stripin Urmia. Supplies and troops now can be airlifted to from the frontline. A field hospital to has begun set up. As of right now we are just continiuing artiller barrages and missiles strikes on the Persian lines. Our chemical missiles are in range of not only the Persian line but Tabriz itself. Now we could make night crossings across the Umria Lake.

Air Marshal Khazan took spoke;
We have 100 Northrop F-5's , 30 MiG 25's, 70 MiG 21's, 110 Dassault Rafale's, 40 F-16's,30 Panavia's on fighter aircrafts. For attack helicopters we have 60 Bell AH-1 SuperCobra's, 70 Mil Mi 24's, 50 Bell Kiowa's, and 40 Bell AH-1 Cobra's. We have for transport helicopters we 120 Chinook helicopters and 100 Sikorsky CH-54. We have commercial Boeing's serviceable for paratrooper operations. I'm scrambling all of our Northroop's and Dassault Rafale's, along with 40 SuperCobra's and 20 Cobra's. All of our Chinooks are ready for any airlift operations needed. I have prepped 1200 paratroopers and 100 T-55's ready to be dropped anywhere sir. Once our soldiers get across the Urmia Lake we can airlift soldiers and paradrop our troops behind enemy lines.

Admiral Ashan next spoke,
Our fleet in the Straight of Hormuz has encountered an Iranian blockade line. We have about 15 destroyers, 12 frigates, 10 missile cruisers, and 10 submarines and a colossus light carrier. I have yet to know what we're dealing with but as a precautionary measure I took the liberty to station an extra 10 destroyers, 7 frigates, and 6 submarines in the Indian Ocean waiting to reinforce our fleet.

Col.AbdulAziz just listened and stared at the map.

Image
Tabriz Line, Iran
The reinforcements began to bolster the trench lines. Artillery relentlessly kept barraging Iranian lines and the MLSR's repeatedly fired missiles. Firefights occurred here in there from the trenches. The T-55's fired at the Iranian trenches. Ottoman soldiers had yet to experience any Iranian counter action and kept up the antics. Ottoman pilots strafed over the trenches occasionally firing missiles at the ground below. The Urmia airstrip had some surprises being prepped; Napalm strikes. Ottoman MOBCOM was going to keep the Iranians on their toes.

Kingdom of Arabia

King Fahd was extremely concerned with the war between the Ottoman Federal Republic and Iran. He knew that such aggression from the Ottomans could only mean one thing: Saudi Arabia wasn't safe. The King, with the best of hopes, drafted an official communique in which it stated Saudi Arabia's position. Saudi Arabia hoped to bring attention about the issue to the world.

Image
Official Communique of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Office of the King

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hereby fiercely opposes Ottoman aggression on the Iranians. We see this aggression with the evil intentions of imperialism and expansionism. Saudi Arabia demands the Ottoman Federal Republic to immediately cease any military operations and withdraw completely; moreover, we demand the beginning of peace talks in which the status quo ante bellum is kept without exception.

Our hope is to see a region that lives in peace and not in fear. We ask the nations of the world to join in this demand. If the Ottoman Federal Republic does not stop this unlawful and unfair military campaign, Saudi Arabia will be forced to take much harsher diplomatic tactics that secure the peace in the region.

Additionally, with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), the Arabian government asks the organization to include in its agenda the Ottoman aggression on the Iranians as it clearly affects many members, the region, and the oil industry in which this organization is based.

With all intentions for peace,

King Fahd of Arabia

The government, as a result of the Ottoman aggression, began a program in which a segment of the Arabian army would also be trained in guerrilla tactics based on the different geographical scenarios of Arabia. A segment of the reserve Arabian army was also included in this program. Along the borders with the Ottoman Federal Republic and Iran, the army began to train volunteers with guerrilla tactics in order to further protect the country. If the conflict were to suddenly spill over, the citizenry that volunteered would be called to duty to aid the defense of the country. Additionally, the armed forces increased the security along the border in order to quickly alert the government of any aggression.
