South Seas Scoops is the largest provider of ice cream, frozen yogurt, and gelato within Costa Aluria, a transformation which has taken less than three years to accomplish. With a belief that tropical flavors make for a wonderful compliment to frozen treats, our company would like to bring you a taste of the trop-licks!It was September, 2011 when a young couple help their wedding reception at a small ice cream store in Costa Aluria's capital city of Mosaic. They had planned their reception with the idea that “We all scream for ice cream” because it is such a delightful treat loved by everybody. At the reception, however, the flavors of ice creams heralded half a world away were not as big a hit for which the couple had hoped. While the crowd had politely accepted the ice cream offered in the parlor, there were murmurs in the less crowded corners of the dissatisfaction with the flavor selections.
Elias and Sofia Whidbey took this to heart. It was true, after all. They had felt it with their own dates earlier—this idea of only partial contentment with ice cream flavors. While the flavors they saw were wonderful, they were not the tropical delights of the tropics. With this in mind, a dream began to grow and take fruition in their hearts. Within the month, plans were laid down for South Seas Scoops which could bring the flavors of the tropics to ice cream lovers throughout Costa Aluria and ultimately to the world. The plans became reality, as the Whidbeys invested what small amount of life savings they had into creamery plans where such ice cream and frozen yogurt could be made.
The investment turned out to be well worth it. Costa Alurians were ripe and ready for new ice cream flavors. What started as a small scale creamery grew with wild excitement. Soon, the Whidbeys were opening Scoop Parlors all over the islands in addition to marketing their frozen delights within the Costa Alurian culinary scene.
Now, less than three years since those first blueprints were drawn, the rapid growth of South Seas Scoops continues. The Whidbeys, recognizing a global demand for exotic icy treats, look to bring the frozen flavors of the tropics to a location near you.
South Seas Scoops ice cream and frozen yogurt uses real ingredients—ingredients like your family probably has at home in the refrigerator already. Real fruits and natural flavorings are added to real milk and natural ingredients to make real and natural ice cream. You'll never find ingredients you can't pronounce in our products. We fully believe that it is possible to have wholesome delights that are made in much the same way that your grandparents made their own treats—except, of course, on a larger scale. It's a simple philosophy, really. Ice cream doesn't need all that extra stuff in it to be a big hit; people like ice cream because it is a fun treat we have loved since we were children. Adults and children alike should be able to understand every ingredient that goes into this treat.

Our frozen treats can't happen without good dairy farms which are dedicated to treating cows ethically. It takes a lot of milk to make this much ice cream and frozen yogurt. There are a great number of farms which sell their untreated and raw milk to our creamery. Once there, the milk is separated out into two important parts—heavy cream and condensed skim milk—where they can be shipped to our factories. Without these ingredients our ice cream would never come into existence. At our factories, special machines pump the milk and cream into large storage vats which keep them cool and ready for production into yummy ice cream and frozen yogurt.
Once ready, these ingredients make their way into what essentially equates to a huge blender, where they are mixed with pure liquid cane sugar, the yolks of eggs, and other ingredients such as cocoa powder (in the case our chocolate flavors). All of these ingredients are blended at high speeds for upt to ten minutes. Once done, the result is a base of sweet cream which is used in the next portions of our production.
At this stage of production, we pasteurize and homogenize our blends to ensure that our products are not only delicious but also completely safe for consumption. In the pasteurization process, we heat the mix to 180 degrees Fahrenheit in order to kill bacteria. Once this is completed, but before the mix can cool, the whole lot is homogenized through a high pressure feeder which separates the fat particles of the cream. The purpose of this is to ensure that the cream is distributed throughout the mix and will not overly “glob up” in large quantities in the ice cream, meaning a nice, smooth texture for our customers. This mix is super cooled over the course of just a few minutes and held in storage vats for several hours where the ingredients continue to mix with each other.
From here, the magic really begins. The sweet cream mixture is now pumped to the flavor station where we add flavorings, purees, and extracts of real fruit and other natural ingredients. It is in this stage that the cream mixture transforms to the delightful frozen treats that we all love so much. All of this is done under the watchful eyes of our staff, who take their job bringing the flavors of the tropics to you very seriously. Only top-notch ingredients ever make their way into the flavor station vats with our cream mixtures.
From here, you can likely guess what happens. Our flavored sweet cream mixtures are super frozen to bring the consistency we are all looking for in that frozen treat. This happens through the cooling barrel, which freezes the mixture as it transports from one section to the next. Once the mixture exits the barrel, it is no longer just any mix—it is South Seas Scoops ice cream! From here we can add even more delicious ingredients to give our ice cream extra texture and flavor, ingredients like chocolate chunks or extra fruit.
At this stage of the game, there is little left to do except fill our tubs and get them shipped out to our Scoop Parlors, ice cream trucks, and stores near you so that you can enjoy them for all their goodness!
As our company expands, we are always looking for additional dairy, creamery, and factory space. Simply put, it is easy enough to make all of this happen in a geographically small nation like Costa Aluria. It is much more logistically difficult to ensure that ingredients stay fresh long enough when distributing to a global level. Shaved ice is treat known throughout the tropics as it is, so it was only natural that South Seas Scoops included it in our lineup. Our shaved ice consists of blocks of ice, painstakingly shaved to fine pieces, and doused in a syrup of varying flavors.

From our factories, our ice cream, frozen yogurt, and gelato is shipped out to many locations where it is ready to be enjoyed by our customers. Several such locations are our Scoop Parlor Ice cream stores. Our Scoop Parlors are the most convenient way for our flavors to be offered in one central location.
Our Scoop Parlors offer a fun environment for our customers to be social and enjoy the tastes of the trop-licks. All of our flavors are available for purchase by the scoop in cups or cones, and our own brand of frozen treats and shaved ice are also available. Free samples are welcomed in each of our Scoop Parlors so that customers can know exactly what they are getting. Each sale is sold lovingly in paper or waffle cups or cones. In addition, our ice creams are complimented by free extras which customers can elect to mix in to enhance the overall experience. These items might be additional chocolates, candies, or fresh fruits, and are mixed in by our trained staff at the whimsy of each customer for a truly one of a kind experience.
Additionally, South Seas Scoop Parlors provide an excellent chance to enjoy an ice cream float. These floats are not your typical fare that you might be accustomed to from root beer or other cola. With a partnership, our tropical ice cream can be sampled with the traditional and tropical sodas from South Seas Soda Company, giving a wide range of possible float experiences. With tropical variations provided by both the soda and the ice cream, the possibilities for a truly exotic experience are wide open.
While our Scoop Parlors are a great opportunity to experience all of our normally offered flavors, they are also an excellent chance to get a sneak peak at possible flavors of the future. Our Scoop Parlors periodically offer advanced screenings of specialty flavors and are the only means by which we test-market new flavors. Elias and Sofia Whidbey, recognizing the appeal of South Seas Scoops Ice Cream, quickly realized the market for bringing our ice cream directly to the people. It was easy to see how this formed as their childhood memories were filled with small events wherein they and their friends chased down the ice cream truck to make small purchases. This, of course, is a phenomenon known worldwide. With that a new ice cream legacy was born.
In early 2013, South Seas Scoops created the trademarked “Ice Cream Man” brand of ice cream trucks with the idea to keep this phenomenon alive. Within just over a year, this conglomerate has become the largest union of ice cream trucks within Costa Aluria. Not only do our trucks serve our flavors by the scoop, they also serve our brand of frozen treats already packaged for single serve applications, as well as shaved ice (snow cones). Playing a whimsical and inviting jingle, our Ice Cream Man trucks pull up into established neighborhoods, beaches, parks, and other places where people are sure to gather and offer our wonderful delights.

South Seas Scoops often gets a remark like “Your ice cream sounds delicious but isn't served anywhere around here. Can I just order it online for delivery?” The answer, of course, is yes! We would love to deliver our ice cream, frozen yogurt, and gelato to your doorstep. Elias and Sofia Whidbey founded South Seas Scoops in 2011. Sofia was formerly a guest services manager at Viceroy Gardens Resort, a large hospitality campus in Costa Aluria, where she gained valuable experience in customer service and management. One of Sofia's many tasks includes the leadership development of the company. Elias served as a sous chef in charge of desserts for Costa Aluria's most influential cruiseliner, Vibrance Ocean Voyages, where he gained industry knowledge pertaining to the combination and presentation of exotic flavors. Elias also serves as our chief flavor guru in charge of creating new flavors for our customers to love and enjoy. Together, Sofia and Elias continue to function as co-CEOs, sharing every important decision as they do all other things in their married life.

We would like to thank you for choosing South Sea Scoops as your ice cream provider. It is loyalty from fans just like you that has given South Seas Scoops its rapid growth as the largest ice cream provider in Costa Aluria. Never in a million years would Sofia and I have imagined just a few years prior that our dream would catch on so quickly. Now, as our company has quickly received enough attention to begin marketing on a global level, we turn to you, our fans, with a request to help us make South Seas Scoops a top provider of ice cream and frozen yogurt on a world-wide level.
South Seas Scoops philosophy is a bit different from the ice cream fare you to which you may be accustomed. We think there are enough plain-jane ice cream providers out there, and we seek to fill a different niche. To be completely honest, we want nothing to do with those plain-jane flavors. Being located in the tropics of Costa Aluria, we know there is a more exotic future out there for ice cream aficionados. Our goal is to bring you a taste of the trop-licks!
The idea is simple: we promise to bring you only the best, natural ingredients and flavors that are ripe and ready for an ice cream marriage. We know the flavors of the tropics are a perfect match for a rich and creamy texture that sways like the palm trees in the wind. The sand is under your feet, the waves roll gently to and fro, out on the horizon the sun sets, and in your bowl is a perfect blend of flavor and texture. This is the South Seas way of life.
