We'd like to get general RP-related chatter out of the Cafe. This thread is where you can discuss things dear to your heart which also focus on RP. The RP community is the thread theme. Other chatter belongs in TET or F7. Please bear in mind the following:
- NS Forum Rules. If you have a question on the rules, check the OSRS. Standard NS rules apply here. Things like ‘do not spam, do not flame, do not troll, do not bait your fellow posters’ still apply. It's perfectly okay to ask how someone's day went but don't let that conversation dominate the thread.
- Keep it family friendly. In other words, however much you want to hug and snuggle and flirt, do not get graphic with it. It's sickening when done on a grand scale and it belongs in F7 or in TG. If it's a topic that belongs in General, take it to General. If it's a debate on which genre is best, take it to A&F.
- These threads are not a blog, or a stage for you to constantly play out your personal dramas – do not treat them like one. That doesn't mean you can't ask how someone is doing or if (insert something) went well last week.
- Ownership. Each chat thread will be locked and linked to after reaching around 500 pages. Please do not try to race and fill up those 500 pages. These are not designed for competition in mind, just discussion between players on whatever it is that’s on their minds at the time (so long as it is within the site rules.) Please, don’t do it. New threads will be formed by Moderators to alleviate any "no fairsies" or "popularity contest whinging". Do NOT make your own chat threads. Location chat threads belong in F7, as well.
- Thread Name. A chat thread by any other name... is still the same chat thread. In other words, the title will always officially be The P2TM Chat Thread but, similar to other chat threads on NS, the thread name will be unique. Example: The P2TM Chat Thread: Fender's Ballroom. Chat threads will be link listed by the chosen name. Credit for the current chat thread name: Corvus Metallum
- I Need Help! Please use the Traveller's Café for RP help requests or to see if someone is interested in your RP idea. There are forms there to speed your question along.
1: RESPECT each other and the thread environment.
2: REFLECT before you post.
3: IGNORE poor behavior.
4: RESIST the urge to hijack the thread.
5: P2TM MENTORS can and will ask people to take a "time out" if that person becomes annoying.
6: BEHAVE (directly from the TET thread): Leave the drama, divisiveness, cliques, accusations, and assorted nastiness at the door. Don't track it in all over our thread. The continuance of the thread is up to you, the players, to maintain. Let's keep the fun uninterrupted by keeping things pleasant. People aren't here to be swayed on political issues or to be harassed.
7: SPOILER IMAGES and beware the dreaded goatse, my dear children, for you are responsible for any hotlink images that appear in your post.
Note: the reason we have all these silly "can't do this, must do that" things in place is because we need to keep our chat thread focused on the RP community and not general chatter. Abuse it; lose it.
