A supermarket in England has released an English flag hoodie for supporters to wear to the soccer. It includes a wearable flag with a hoodie for rain protection. The only issue with it is that it looks like the outfit of the notorious group of white supremacists-the KKK

Now, where I stand on this is here.
a) People should be encouraged to support their nation and show patriotism
b) Hoodies like this should be encouraged not criticised
c) However, at the same time, they should really check these things before releasing it, because it does look like a KKK outfit
d) There is nothing wrong with people supporting their nation and wanting rain protection. It's just an unfortunate coincidence that the English flag hoodie looks like the KKK outfit

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the KKK was active in the UK, so it doesn't have anywhere near the same cultural significant there.

I don't have a problem with the hoodie. It's just a bad coincidence that the hoodie slightly resembles the KKK's outfit from the back.

Really all the company that produces the hoodies needs to do to correct this unfortunate coincidence would be to redesign to the hood so it doesn't look like a cone/triangle.

it doesn't need to be all white, does it? it can still have white and make the rest....blue...there is blue in the English flag isn't there?
or it could be any color with the actual flag in its normal proportions on the back.

im not saying that they MUST do that. its just what I would do. its not like the KKK look is big in England.

Funny thing is, you can usually tell who the racists are by looking for the English flag flying outside of major sporting tournaments.

But the cultural significance of people looking slightly like the KKK's Poncho Division is frankly lost on most England fans. So no biggie.
