Ah yes, because reducing women to "pieces of ass" is totally appropriate in a thread about someone who is was such a misogynistic asshole that he shot up a bunch of women because he felt that they owed him sex.

He didn't reduce women to a "piece of ass" the shooter did, the guy literally shot people because he couldn't get "ass", hence why the guy you quoted used such terminology.

If the guy shot people because he couldn't find love, and the individual quoted said what had said, that would be misogynistic, but it's clear that all the shooter was looking for was physical satisfaction.

Not this shit again.

People with autism and personality disorders know that killing people is frowned upon, they are not delusional and they do not have impaired impulse control. Even though they are mentally ill, their illness does not instigate any crime they commit or absolve them from any responsibility for their actions.

This guy was an egocentric, bitter scumbag with a massively inflated sense of entitlement. He simply could have not killed a bunch of people but he did it anyway. He was simply evil.

Or maybe he was a psychopath. Just maybe.

How is it appropriate? That's why he killed those women and "pieces of ass" only furthers the view that women owe men sex.

Which means that it's not at all inappropriate to use that phrase to refer to women when it inevitably includes the victims of a brutal, senseless murder.

Seriously, cut the shit.

He was evil, period.

You completely ignored what I actually said, just so you could have a nice rant. I never said that the guys (theoretical) Autism and/or personality disorder caused him to shoot people, I just personally believe that the man probably had undisguised Autism, probably along with many other negative conditions, that if left intreated, probably didn't help his mental state. Instead of having anti-intellectual rants like yourself, I'd hope that investigators will investigate the possibility, and if he indeed did have Autism, look at ways to prevent similar situations of social and mental isolations.

The Virginia Tech shooter Seung-Hui Cho was believed to have had undiagnosed and untreated severe Autism, if this had been picked up on early in his life, he might of not degenerated to the state that he was in That is what I'm getting at. These things need to be diagnosed so people can actually receive the help they need, not ignored.

Zavea wrote:well that's six less people who are going to check out his subreddit

Shockingly (and by that I mean 'absolutely not shockingly at all') it appears Rodger was a member of a Reddit spinoff forum that revolved around sexually-frustrated straight males;

Business Insider wrote:Police have not yet named a suspect in the mass shooting near the UC Santa Barbara campus that left seven people dead Friday night, but they have said they are studying a video posted to YouTube for connections to the incident. In it, a man identifying himself as Eliot Rodger sits in a car with palm trees in the background, calmly declaring his intention of murdering women as revenge for his romantic frustrations.

Someone with the username EliotRodger was a regular poster on an online message board called PUAhate, on which men who have been unlucky with women commiserate, criticise one another, excoriate the opposite sex, and denounce PUA’s, or pick-up artists — dating gurus whom they accuse of preying on desperate men like themselves for financial gain.

Many of the posters identify themselves as “incels,” short for involuntary celibates, and some of the posts fantasize about violence toward women.

At this point, Rodger has not been declared a suspect in the shooting. But the PUAhate community has responded to the incident. Late last night, a forum member posted the video and wrote that “Eliot Rodger, a member of this forum, just shot two girls near Santa Barbara (Isla Vista).”

The responses to the post are notable for the same tone of self-loathing and seething frustration displayed by the man in the video. “He sounds like an [expletive],” reads the first reply.

Another chimes in, “He sounds aspie as [expletive],” a reference to Asperger’s syndrome. Several others criticise the man’s “villain laugh.”

An example of the sort of intense criticism of one another’s appearance that is common on the site comes from a member named Colez, who writes:

He’s not “ugly” in layman’s terms, but he has no sex appeal. Short lower third and gay midface, with zero brow ridge. … We must dig deeper.

He should have gotten a hair-cut, aqcuired neck tattoos and gone over the top with the sociopathic act, that would have gotten him hotties. Unfortunately, like most on this site, he’s too aspie to realise it. Lock him up and throw away the key.

Another user claimed that Rodger was the son of Peter Rodger, a documentary filmmaker and a second unit director on the “Hunger Games,” according to IMDB. The post included a picture of a young man resembling Eliot Rodger at a red carpet event.

Colez later followed up: “Nothing will come of this, you sensationalist losers. Certainly not national coverage.”

But another member, manic786, disagreed.

It add an extra layer of tragedy whenever misogyny and mass violence are synonymous in instances like these.

The OP's description of the shooting immediately reminded me of the École Polytechnique massacre.

I'll repeat what I said earlier, the poster was referring to the shooters mindset by using the words "piece of ass", it was a reference to the wants of the shooter, who effectively did what he did as he couldn't get any, it wasn't a sexist statement. I understand this is a distressing incident, but the whole ganging up/bullying behaviour exhibited by some posters on this thread is distasteful, the comment was extremely mild.

The reference was hamfisted and came across as utterly misogynistic, and your defense was poorly explained and tone-deaf.
