First of all, please allow to welcome you to our airport storefront. I am glad that you have taken time to visit it. I am Arnaud Lefèvre, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Saint-Étienne International Airport.

Saint-Étienne Airport or Aéroport de Saint-Étienne (IATA: ??? ICAO:EMSE) is a major international airport serving the cities of Heleventia, Euskania, Bonn, Saint-Étienne and Bouthéon in Mizialand. The airport was previously known as Bonn International Airport. Following re-organisation of municipalities and provinces in early 2014, Bonn Airport came under Saint-Étienne municipality and was thus appropriately renamed. The airport was redesigned with installation of new fire control features following a massive fire which destroyed the then newly constructed airport. The airport was reopened on the 103rd anniversary of the Kingdom.

It is located in the Loire province and Saint-Étienne municipality. It is located 12 km northwest of Saint-Étienne, 15 km northeast of Bouthéon, 45 km south of Bonn, 100 km east of Heleventia and 150 km west of Euskania. The airport is served by the newly constructed LGV-2 (High Speed Line-2).

The airport is owned by Hellespont, a company which also owns St. Louis International Airport and La Pierre International Airport in St. Louis and Brandie respectively.

INTRODUCTION

HISTORY

In 2009, Heleventia International Airport designed to handle 15 million passengers/year had to accommodate over 30 million passengers. The airport terminal, constructed in 1928 was reeling under extreme pressure owing to modern updates such as air conditioning, people movers, aero-bridges etc. In 2011, Her Majesty's Government sanctioned the construction of a new airport to replace this aging airport as well as the airports of Euskania and Bonn, satellite cities of Heleventia. Construction began in July 2011 and finished in September 2013. The airport was named Bonn International Airport and inaugurated in December 2013.

A fire caused due to short circuit damaged a large portion of the infrastructure. The airport was subsequently closed and construction worked restarted from scratch. The ownership was transferred to Hellspont, a holding company which also owns St. Louis International Airport.

Following re-organisation of provinces and municipalities, the airport came under the province of Loire and municipality of St. Étienne thereby effectively serving the cities of St. Étienne and Bouthéon as well. Thus, the airport was renamed as St. Étienne International Airport. The airport was inaugurated on 04 May 2014 by the Queen of Mizialand, HRH Sophie Vincent. It is the largest and busiest airport in the country.

TERMINAL AND RUNWAY

The airport uses a single terminal concept, where all facilities are located under one roof radiating form a single plaza. The terminal is divided into the following concourses:

Concourse A: Reserved for Domestic Flights.
Concourse B: Reserved flights bound to Esquarium.
Concourse C: Reserved for Air Liberte Domestic Flights.
Concourse D: Reserved for Air Liberte and Skyway Airlines International Flights.
Concourse E: Unreserved.
Concourse F: Unreserved.
Concourse G: Under Construction.

Overview of the terminal

The terminal has 128 jet-ways and 16 standing gates. St. Étienne International Airport offers all its guests (passengers and others) the ultimate shopping experience as more than 300 retail and duty free shops are located before as well as after security. The airport offers its guests the ultimate dining experience with more than 200 food vendors spread throughout the airport transforming it to a virtual food court.

The airport has four runways, one of which is mainly used by general aviation aircraft. The Oostbaan was the last runway to be constructed along with redesigning. The longest runway is Madame Vincentbaan, named after HRH Sophie Vincent. Its length is 3,500 m.

To and From St. Étienne International Airport

>COLLECTING AND BRINGING GUESTS

Since 1973, people not holding a valid, confirmed airline ticket or the
'Airport Pass' are not allowed inside any airport in Mizialand. Therefore, if you want to collect arriving passengers, you'd have to wait outside the arrival hall. You are not allowed to park in front of the arrival hall. Therefore you must load their luggage and exit this area within 10 minutes. Defaulters have to pay a fine of €300.

Should you wish to meet the guests outside the hall, you must park you car in the visitor's parking area and then walk to the hall. If you wish to enter the hall, you must purchase the Airport Pass which is available for any airline counter, vending machine or the airport office located throughout the airport. The pass costs € 25,60 per adult (15 years or more) and € 10,50 per child (less than 15 years). This pass also grants you access to pre-security shops and Schoon's aquarium.

meBUS
The airport has an extensive bus service linking it towns and cities not only in Mizialand but also to neighbouring countries through connections in Heleventia Bus Depot.

meBUS is the subsidiary of the state run Mizialand National Rail Company (SNCM-NMMS-MB). It operates high frequency services from early morning to late evening. Some lines also include night services. Most of these buses make use of special bus lanes that means you can get to and from the airport quickly even during the rush hours. The lines numbered without alphabets offer direct connections while those with alphabets include stops.

Besides since the airport lies in Loire region, the RATL (Régie Autonome des Transports Loire or Autonomous operator of Loire Transport) also operates bus services to St. Étienne and Bouthéon. With connections in Heleventia Bus Depot, international services to neighbouring European countries are provided.

Train
The St. Étienne railway station is situated directly below the airport. Train tickets are available from the purple coloured vending machines located in the plaza. Should you face any problem,
do not hesitate to contact the ticket office located at the same place. You are advised to buy train tickets from the vending machines as ticket offices impose a surcharge of 50 cents.

The nation rail company Mizialand National Rail Company (SNCM-NMMS-MB) operates all trains from this station. Intercity trains to all five cities ply at a frequency of 15 to 20 minutes.St. Étienne Central railway station and Heleventia Central railway station are both train hubs in Mizialand and you can travel to almost everywhere in the country from these stations.

E-Grek

E-Grek is the high speed train operated by the rail company. It offers hourly services to Heleventia, Euskania and St. Louis from the airport station. Travelling on E-Grek means more comfort and speed. Every seat is provided with a power outlet that allows you work while you travel. All trains are equipped with Wifi available at a nominal cost. There are two classes of travel:

With the taxi, you can travel directly and comfortably from your very own doorstep to the departure gate. This service is 24/7 and available throughout the country. If you choose a combined taxi, it will stop at other addresses for picking up the passengers. At St. Étienne International Airport

>CHECK IN

Check in from home
Your journey begins even before you arrive at the airport. That's right, its possible if you check in from home. Most airlines offer this service. You can get a comprehensive list [url]here[/url].

Checking in from home saves a lot of time as well. All you have to do is to drop off your luggage once you reach the airport. This gives you all the more time to enjoy the many facilities of our airport. Furthermore, you can check in many hours, even days in advance. Some airlines also offer you the service of selecting your seats.

Self Check in
You can use one of the many self check in
kiosks provided at the airport. Domestic passengers and those travelling in Europe may check in upto 10 minutes prior to departure while international passengers may check in upto 45 minutes prior to departure. Passengers with baggage are required to attach the baggage tag and drop of their baggage at the counters.

Passengers may check their luggage at counters located in subway stations and train stations at all five cities served by the airport well to a day in advance. Check in Desks
The traditional method of checking in is of course available. Do keep in mind that this can take longer than checking in in advance, especially during the holiday seasons when the waiting time is as long as an hour. You are advised to check in at least an hour prior to departure if flying to a domestic or European destination and at least two hours prior to departure if flying to an international destination. Please follow any instructions given by your airline or travel agency.

>SECURITY

Passport Control
After check in, you will proceed to the passport controls (if flying outside Europe, otherwise directly to security) where the border police will stamp your passport. If you are importing or exporting goods for commercial purposes, you will be required to report to the customs office. Should you bring cash exceeding EUR 10.000 (or equivalent in your currency), flora, fauna, pets, gold, silver (any form of jewellery which contains these materials), drugs and medicines, meat, fruits and dairy products, you are required to report to the customs office.

Security Check
For everyone's safety, you will be subjected to a full body scan where a cartoon like representation of your body with indications of prohibited items, if any will be marked. The operator will be located in a separate room where the imagery is not visible to the passengers. If you are uncomfortable with this method, you must report at once to the security guards who will frisk you. The guard frisking you is required to be of the same gender as you; if you are uncomfortable with this idea, you may ask guard of any gender to frisk you.

Airport Charges

Passengers departing from or arriving at St. Étienne International Airport must pay 'User Development Fee' of EUR 25,60. Usually this fee is included in the price of your airline ticket.

For everyone's safety, you are not permitted to carry hazardous items in your luggage.

Hand Baggage

1. You are not permitted to carry certain items in your hand baggage. Your hand baggage will be screened twice - once at the security and then again at boarding. Further, security staff reserves the right to deny you the permission of carrying any item they deem unfit for the flight.

2. To protect against the threat of liquid explosives, special rules apply for carrying liquids, aerosol and gel. They must be in containers of volume not more than 100 mL, placed in a transparent, resealable bag (these are available at all security points for a price of EUR 5).

3. Baby food and medicines are permissible but must be declared upon security. A surcharge of EUR 5 will be levied for such items.

4. All liquid items purchased at the airport will be sealed in appropriate bags. Receipt must be preserved and presented when such items are carried on board the aircraft.

5. If you have packed razors, nail clippers, blades, scissors, or ant other prohibited item by mistake in your hand luggage, you will have to surrender it to the security, if you are unable to pack them in your hold baggage. You can also apply to have such items forwarder to you at a charge of EUR 5 per item.

Hold Baggage

Hold Baggage will be checked both manually and by detection equipment. Certain items are prohibited in hold baggage. Contact your airline for more information. If you are travelling with prohibited items, you must contact your airline at once. These can be then shipped as hold baggage after being labelled hazardous.

Travelling with Pets

Airlines have different rules in this regard. Mizialand applies strict quarantine regulations for all pets or animals imported to the country. In most cases, your pet will be put in a kennel and travel in the cargo hold. Make sure that your pet is adequately fed and hydrated. Put a tag indicating the name of your pet and feeding instructions. Allow your pet to adjust to the environment of the kennel. You are advised to put it in a kennel at least 5 days prior to the journey. Do not sedate your pet for the journey.

Lost Luggage

Fortunately, we store all lost luggage that is delivered to our lost and found counter. If you have lost luggage before passport control, you must contact information desks which will supply you with a lost and found form. You will be informed and your luggage will be delivered to you (at a surcharge which can cost upto EUR 1000). If you lose your luggage after passport control, contact the airport office.

Travelling with Children and Infants

Kiddieland is a great place for children while waiting for their flights. Children can play with swings, slides and much more. It is located at
Concourse C near departure gates 7 to 15 and Concourse G near departure gates 43 to 50. It is free of charge and open to everyone.

You are allowed to collapsible buggies to the gate, where they are loaded in the cargo hold. Non collapsible buggies have to be loaded at the check in.

St. Étienne International Airport offers special services for children travelling unaccompanied (younger than 16 years). Our staff is there to assist them to the airline staff and through passport control and security for departures and handling them over to the concerned adults on arrival. This service costs EUR 10. Please contact the airport well in advance.

Infants younger than a week are not allowed to travel on board any flight. Those under age of 2 may fly free to any destination from Mizialand provided they are seated in lap. Mizialand requires all children aged 2 and above to have their own passport. They may not travel on their parent's passports.

Internet and Telephone

Working while waiting for your flight is not a problem with our airport offering Wifi services. Simply switch on you smartphone/laptop/I-pad etc., select the 'SEIN' option and follow the instructions on your browser. Free internet is available for 90 minutes after which you must pay EUR 2 per hour. The payment can be made online through credit card or you may get access code by purchasing use and throw cards at information desks.

Public telephone is available throughout the airport. You may pay in coins, telephone card or credit card. Telephone card is available at the information desks. Phone calls within Mizialand costs EUR 0,50 per minute; to Europe EUR 1,00 per minute and outside Europe EUR 2,00 per minute.

Assistance for people with disability

We offer a wide range of facilities to the disabled to make their visit most comfortable. If you are blind or have difficulty
walking, we can accompany you to your flight. Please contact the airport beforehand. Free wheelchairs are available at various points throughout the airport. Wheelchairs can be carried to flights as hand baggage. Furthermore, the airport requires all airlines to prioritise boarding for persons with disability.

Hotels at St. Étienne International Airport

Staying at the airport is now possible with so many hotels that accommodate all budgets present at the airport itself:

Hotelport: This modern airport which allows guests to change the room colour and temperature is situated at a walking distance from the airport terminal. Free shuttles also ply regularly. It also offers free wifi and free movies. Prices start from EUR 75,50 per night (double bed).

Hotel Sakura: This Japanese theme hotel is located in the transit area, accessible only by transit passengers. Free wifi and television is available, as are communal bathrooms.
Guests are not permitted to eat or smoke in their capsules. Prices start from EUR 20,00 per night.

ParkInn: This five star hotel is just a 15 minutes drive from the terminal. A 24 hour shuttle services is available for all guests. The hotel offers a number of a la carte services such as swimming pool, sauna, bar, Turkish bath, gym etc. The main restaurant which serves acclaimed Mizia delicacies is popular even among the locals. You may collect it or if this is not possible we can send you the item through our shipping partners.

Salon Air Liberte
The Salon Air Liberte is the lounge located for the exclusive use by Suite, First Class and Business Class guests. There is a separate section for Suite and First Class guests. Buffet food stations and televisions are located inside while Internet work stations overlook water features and greenery. The Dining Room' a new restaurant concept for our passengers wishing to dine before their flight, leaving their flight free to rest or work. Our dedicated childcare service for children has been extended to this lounge,
and the Sky Nanny is available from 1830 to 0200 each evening to provide a wide range of on-the-ground services to complement the much heralded on board service. Smoking
In accordance with public laws regarding smoking, smoking is prohibited in Bonn International Airport. Guests found smoking in the airport will face a fine of upto 200 euros or a jail term of 10 months or both.
However, throughout the airport there are designated cubicles and areas where guests may smoke. These areas are easily identifiable with the help of various signs put there. Mizia really like their cheese, they really do and that's why we have a cheese shop at the airport. Its not just a cheese shop you can see with your eyes the entire process of manufacture of cheese - just one of the many things that makes the airport so very unique. You can even purchase massive chunks of those hole filled cheese. If you don't want to take them as a carry baggage, you can even get it shipped. The cheese shop is imposing and visible from even distant locations at the plaza; it is easily identifiable by a massive rotating cheese. Mizialand is famous for its plush toys for they were invented here. Who does not loves these furry, cuddly, sweet, so light to handle, soft, cosy creatures? You cling to one when you are sad, you talk to one when you are lonely, you slept with one in your childhood.
