The other Grantican nation is Grantica.

This is the dark timeline Grantica of draconian evil.

The other one is filled with people who actually care about things other than power and oppression.

in recent years i've felt myself become more cagey and circumspect with what i choose to believe in relativity to this place in general

i don't intend that as a universal insult, though. what i mean to say is more like i feel like i share common ground with many people here, and even if i think i've evolved, i also think they're capable of evolving, so it's difficult for me to have any contempt. this is also b/c i think this place is a useful demonstrator of diverse political beliefs as people express them naturally on the internet, and it's important to witness that if i want to understand why they think what they do

so while i don't think it's changed me (i haven't involved myself enough in this community) i certainly think it's been part of the formula
is it pronounced zay-vee-uh or zuh-vay-uh? i can't decide

My views on LGBT people changed. I never had an opinion, then I met a few and liked them. Now I have a positive view of them.

Edit: at least the individuals I like.

I didn't have a bad opinion of the LGBTQ community, but I didn't, once upon a time, think they should be parents. That changed because of a debate I had with Bottle. Way back when I started posting.

I did. Now it is positive. Frankly, when you come down to it, an orphaned child just wants a home and loving parents. I don't think he/she cares if it's two men or two women or a man and a woman.

NSG hasn't changed my views much. Although I can say they're not the same as when I joined, but that's not thanks to NSG. NSG changed my stances on separatism and social welfare and that's it. Nonetheless, I think coexisting with people from different ideological backgrounds made me rethink a lot about my positions.

I joined the forums on September 2013 and since then, I'm less socially liberal than I used to be — but I'm still pro-choice, pro-gay marriage and pro-drug legalization. I sort of "reconverted" to Catholicism, although I still hold on firmly to my Positivist and secular values.

I think my biggest change was becoming more nationalist. Not an irredentist, xenophobic nutjob but just an average man who loves his "Mãe Gentil" and is working on improving it.

Overall, I still label myself as a "radical centrist" or "pragmatic centrist" — for the most part because there's no formal ideology that fits me and because I value pragmatism more than anything.
Your nation is like a son. What it does right is your merit, as well as what it does wrong is your fault. When you praise it, be lucid and avoid exaggeration. Praising it too much can make it indolent. On the other hand, when you criticize it, be harsh, but do not ridicule it. Do your best to improve it, not through derision or disdain, but through good examples and dedication.

Looking back I realise how much of an immature idiot I was when I joined this site. I was an extremely militant atheist, rediculously anti-EU, somewhat more economically libertarian and probably a UKIP sympathiser.

Some of the changes in my views is probably just me becoming more mature and better informed, but NSG certainly played a large part in the changes.

This nation should not be taken to be representative of my real-life views, nor should any of the nonsense I posted on here as a teenager.

Interestingly, it has made me more right-wing, more royalist, more pro-religion, and more anti-capitalist as well as anti-socialist. Of course, when I first joined NationStates I was quite young and didn't possess any really strong political beliefs or a particular ideology, but I went through a few phases before I got to where I am now.
"Classicist in literature, royalist in politics, and Anglo-Catholic in religion" (T.S. Eliot). Still, unaccountably, a NationStates Moderator.

Not very much I'm afraid. I was already in my 40's when I joined and I'd argued with lots of people about lots of things before then. So my broad political alignment hasn't changed much.

I've become aware of a wider range of sexualities (that being one of the few subject people in real life don't argue about, in my experience). Years ago when I joined I thought there were just straights, bisexuals, gays and lesbians. I respected all those, because someone else's sexuality is none of my business ... but I was probably rather insensitive to other alignments because I just wasn't aware that such sexualities existed.

I take the letter of law and the court process a lot more seriously now. I never bothered to read court judgements, precedents or even the laws themselves, until I came here and saw them cited in thread arguments I'd gotten involved in. The law is not easy reading, but I was enticed into it by the strength and consistency of arguments made by posters who do know the law. It's not that I have any pretensions of being a lawyer, it's just interesting. Reading those moral battles fought out in such a formal way has I think made me more rigorous in my own morality, and more cautious of starting arguments I can't win. So that has changed my approach to argument, if not my views.

Of course my views have changed in the x years I have been here. But apart from the two examples given above, in which I had my nose rubbed in my own ignorance, it has been my choice to drink when NSG led me to water. I really can't say that NSG changed my views in any other way. It might even have further entrenched me, because argument is not the best way to find the truth.

Well, before Nationstates, I would've liked to have considered myself a pacifist. Now I'm a person who advocates war. My views on the minimum wage have also changed (ban it!). Maybe I have become more conservative?
