How Has NSG Changed Your Views?

Postby The New World Oceania » Sat Apr 26, 2014 8:26 pm

Recently, I came across a golden post of mine: my first in NSG. Based on my unrivaled remarkability to-day, I figured it would've had to display some kind of prophetic air, maybe one which could be analyzed to show how lovely I'd be in three years.
I hate gays.

They are a disgrace among the world.

Ah, well, maybe just off to a bad start...
Our New World Oceania wrote:Obama's Second Term = End of World

Case in point, my views have changed radically because of NSG. I gained a lot on science and religion, economics, society, and how people deserve to be treated since joining. I've stopped arguing Obama won because he was black. I've learned to debate properly. Hell, TET turned me gay.

How has NSG changed your views? And have you perhaps changed other people's ideas on NSG?

In any case, I imagine it in fact has less to do with conformity, and more to do with the fact that good arguments make for changes in mind.

I've changed from "generic right wing tea-partier extremist" to a reactionary absolutist divine right hobbesian perspective, with theocratic influences.
Texas nationalist, right-wing technocrat, radical social conservative, post-liberal.

It has made me become slightly less right-wing in some issues, otherwise it has not really affected my views very much.

Not at all.

If anything, it's made me go even more radical to the side of the political spectrum that I agree with most.

It hasn't really. If anything I've become more libertarian over the past year, but that's probably because of RL influences rather than this website.

Exposure to authoritarian NSG users over time made me less democratic.
For so long, Mankind has been plagued by division. Division by culture, creed, skin color, religion and nationality. These very divisions have been the cause of most human conflicts. But in the age of globalism, we can finally have that chance to implement a world government where all human beings are seen as equals. Isn't that what everyone wants? World peace? I do. You should support that too. It may not end all conflicts, but the reductions of Man on Man violence will be at an all time low when the entire planet gets administered by one governing body.

Used to be against illegal immigration. NSG made me make a complete 180 turn on those views, and for the better.
Secularism, restricted immigration policy, against affirmative action, voter ID laws, gun rights, democracy, free-market capitalism, egalitarianism, nationalism, and lastly, Rhodesia > Zimbabwe
