Economic Renewal has led to the ESC's return to Industrial Juggernaut

Archona, ESC - We can see it in the cities, the people, and the countryside. Once pocket-marked by signs of ferocious fighting between the Archon's forces and his father, now we see signs of renewal. The cities have almost recovered and the industries have been mostly rebuilt. The Archon's Maglev System is now up and running and is providing the population with fast, cheap, and reliable transportation around the country. The old railways have been fixed, upgraded, and are used for industrial transportation.

New deposits of Rare Earth Elements, Gold, Silver, Copper, and Coal have been found by the King Mining Corporation, these deposits have been estimated to be worth trillions of dollars. Add to this the factories that have opened, producing many different products ranging from vehicles, military equipment, glass, cell phones, chips, to doors, pastas, and bicycles.

In a recent interview, The Archon spoke to ESNN's own Yolanda Davenport about the economic boom.

"Honestly, people must think we sit on our laurels and pray that everything gets better. This economic 'rebirth' if you will has helped along by millions of people and many nations. With the fall of the conservative party and the rise of the liberals after I restructured the constitution, it opened up a doorway for us as a nation to finally step out of our former shadow. It let us chart our own course that looks vastly different from my father's vision. Oil from abroad, money from Belfras and Rodarion helped us rebuild our diminished industry. These last 2 years have been difficult, but we have survived, we have emerged stronger than before."

And the Archon is right. The economy has grown by leaps and bounds, and while much still needs to be done the hardest part has passed. The Espherian People can breath a sigh of relief knowing that the nation can provide for its people once more.

Velos Corporation Announces Several Projects To Tackle Overpopulation

Velos Corporation, an investment real estate firm based out of Marvius, has announced its answer to the overpopulation of the Marvius Province. With over 90 million residents in the city and it's suburbs alone, the city desperately needs an answer to its growing problem. The Imperial Senate announced in 2007 that it would award twelve billion harkins in the form of a contract for any private firm that could come up with and construct a viable solution to the issue. Several firms attempted to offer solutions but Velos Corporation won in the end.

Velos has finally announced that after six years of work, it has come up with two viable solutions to solve the issue and spend the money. The first portion of the project will be the construction of the Avros Towers, two buildings That will top out at a staggering 240 floors of living quarters. It will be the tallest building in Tarsas and will take four years to construct. The tower will provide homes for thousands of city residents. Accompanying the tower will be several sprawling apartment complexes outside of the city that will hold 10,000 people per complex. Four have been planned.

Velos has said its crowning achievement will take 10 years to fully complete. The Cervos Habitation Rig, named after engineer Andrei Cervos, will be a floating habitation unit built in the waters around Marvius. Within ten years, each habitation is to be fully self sufficient, though the company has said that is a distant goal. Construction is set to begin on the first unit within a month. Capable of holding around 5,600 residents each, every Cervos Habitat will be roughly a mile wide and a half mile long. The habitats will feature entertainment, retailers to fulfill basic needs, hydroponics, and their own self sufficient waste and utilities processing.

Energy generation will be taken care of by a combination of tidal energy and solar power. The habitats also contain a desalination facility to provide fresh water. Hydroponics will be introduced gradually as more research is done into sustaining it. Each habitat will take roughly a year to construct the initial platform. It can be floated and finished on the water. To anchor it in place, heavy cables will be placed on the sea floor and the platform will have limited propulsion to be able to stabilise itself in the event of a cable snapping. Electric motors will power the propulsion system.

The Senate has already approved the funds to build ten such platforms, all completed in ten years time. The spokesman for the Population Regulation Committee had this to say. "With populations only growing larger, it is time we take a proactive approach to solving overpopulation. This is the first in many advances that will come to light through this research."

Drakkar should only be the beginning

The crisis in Drakkar is a horrific yet poetic one, it is a fight between good and evil, the oppressed and the oppressor, the righteous against the wicked. But there seems to be a thought in all of our minds that Drakkar should be the only place to be freed from the iron grip of the Pagan. There is the rest of the Itailian mainland, open and calling out for freedom before God, yet they are silent, fearing a repeat of the evil act that killed 500,000 people. Then there is the Western state of Torchland, which is already suffering the abuses of its confederal rights in light of the so called 'Rodarian threat'. And last but not least there is Nos Callis and its surrounding area, the Kingdom of Belfras although not an opressor is denying the people of that city their rights to become apart of God's Papal Republic, but I shall be less strong on a cause for Nos Callis due to Belfras' opaque respect for their religious rights.

When this crisis began and the people of Drakkar rose up in arms in hope of securing freedom from the genocide regime in Ebonaevron, this nation recognised its place in Pardes at last. We are the protectors and guardians of all Catholics in Pardes, we are the nation of the Holy See and therefore we have the divine authority to commit to such a endevour. When the time comes and it will, hundreds of thousands of brave Rodarian men will step forward and fight to the bitter end to secure freedom and liberty for the people of Drakkar, that is certain, but we must do more whilst this situation is present. We must liberate Torchland, grant them the sovereignty of nation-state, break them away from the queer confederal system of the Western Confederation, free them entirely to be what they wish to be, we must ensure that they too do not befall the same horrors of Drakkar through the so called defence of 'liberal democracy'. If must be, we must turn both Viridia and Ebonaevron to burning ruins, no matter the cost to this nation, we must see God's will through, we must be victorious for him and all of Christendom because no one else will stand up in their name.

But there is more that must be done, I do not advocate expansionism or imperialism, no one in this great nation does. But we must destroy as much as possible of the CDI. If we secure victory in Drakkar, we must march ever onward, we must free the Itailian provinces of Esrin, Gormar and if God grants us the ability, onwards to Evelin, we must free all of the Holy See's children on the Itailian mainland from the Pagan demonic cabal in Ebonaevron. If we do so, we should not relent, we should march onwards to Viridia and tear its shrines to the individual down, tear down the temples to the self to rubble, we must cross the seas and bring fire and wrathful vengence down upon the Belhavians, so arrogant they see themselves invincible, how dare they even think we would not reach them, we would wipe their navy out upon the waves, leave their men and their ships in a sea of fire. Then only then, would we bring the horrors of war upon Provisa, a city of up-tight homosexuals parading as a beacon of neo-conservatism upon the southern Pardesi world. Yet, I am sure the combined strength of Tarsas and Ulthrannia will reduce Arthurista to a desolate cesspit of sinful lamentation, and with God's grace, the CDI stranglehold over the poor and innocent Muslim nations of the East will be rendered to a distant page of history.

But why do you ask? Why must we liberate Drakkar as we all wish and then move onto to do the same for regions of Pardes that do not share the same audacity and will of spirit as Drakkar; you must realise these are different situations with different mentalities yet the same yerning to become a nation under God. The truth is, a victory in Drakkar is not enough, the CDI nations are like rats or cockroaches, you may wipe out a large number, force them back to the neighbour's garden, but they will return and with avengence, we must inflict such a great defeat upon them that they would never muster the will to fight the Papal Republic, we must defeat them so harshly that they will struggle to muster the means let alone the will for many, many years to come. I personally support the use of chemical weapons, because the resolution banning them would only be enforced by the nations we will soon be clashing with. I support the use on all targets, not just military, because at the end of the day when fighting a democracy, you must realise that the people of those countries voted, gave their support, gave their trust to the leaders that have denied the world justice, that would tear down our Papacy and replace with some horror that governs them; they people of democracies are as much an enemy as their soldiers.

There we have it, the case for total war upon these Nations of Arrogant Ennuchs. And should Estovnia join the CDI, they too must suffer the same concequence, the Papal Republic must reign supreme upon this continent in order to secure the future prosperity and security of all Catholics freed by this Papacy. We must not become content in victory in Drakkar, we must spread the same success to northern Itailia, to Viridia and beyond. We must utilise every tool in our nation to secure victory over Belhavia, the Western Confederation, Itailia and even Estovnia should it be allowed into the force of neo-conservative imperialism. I believe this nation can be victorious, I believe this nation has the strength in faith to overcome any enemy, no matter the cost and no matter how long the struggle.

How Free Pardes Can Fight the Looming War of Aggression

PROVISA — "We can foresee no other conclusion but a protracted war... they are the ones that we must be ready to fight at every turn." If you were the common uninformed fellow on the street, or a citizen in one of the R.C.O. member-states, you might think that those words came from Itailian Archon Gaius Callus, or possibly Emmerian President Alex Vaziri, or if you were unfortunate enough to be in Rodarion (where Belhavia is a frequent rhetorical punching bag; apparently that's the new fad among Rodarion's political class) where you are force-fed "news" from the state-run media, you might think it was President Eli Goldman. Too bad you'd be wrong on all three counts.

The true author of those words? Tarsan Foreign Minister Alrec Severeoth Nimirae, who just the other day pontificated for the umpteenth time how the Central Defense Initiative (C.D.I.) is doing everything from "warmonging" to "blatant disregard [sic] for a massacre of 500,000 people" to being a "threat to regional peace" (whoa; that must be exhausting. It sounds like the C.D.I. is crazy busy these days with such a packed schedule).

You want to know the truth? That's all bubba maisa. (I'll save you the trouble for all you non-Yiddish speakers. It means bull***t). Let's face the facts - the only "warmongers" and "threats to regional peace" are coming from the Tarsan and Rodarian governments. But don't take my word for it: our friends in Romula and Civitas Tarsae make it easy for us to document their vitriolic propaganda. Pope Pius called for war as a "necessity." In February, the Papal Republic deployed 80% of its active ground forces to its borders with Belfras, the West, and Itailia. The Pope then said war was "inevitable" between Rodarion and the C.D.I. And that's just out of Romula in the last three months. Tarsas hasn't fared much better: It declared that the C.D.I. was "obviously" trying to dominate and control the region, then its leaders said war between the R.C.O. and C.D.I. was an "inevitable conflict" and that it eagerly would be willing to blockade Arthurista. Then the Tarsan media leaked that it launched warships loaded for war to 'parts unknown.' And lastly, Tarsas just announced that its testing new naval weapon systems in anticipation for a "protracted war" with the C.D.I.

So, what's the commonality here? Facts - well, the lack thereof, more appropriately. You see, repressive regimes like Romula and Civitas Tarsae know they are on the wrong side of history, so they fabricate and manufacture lies and exaggerations to prop up their regimes up by placating their restless populations.

Let's deal in facts and evidence (a concept utterly foreign to Pardes' pair of premier rogue states). Fact: Tarsas is run by neo-Roman expansionists who had stated repeatedly that they have an imagined hegemony over the whole of the Near-East (sidenote: they should really talk to the Pardesian Socialist Union about that; I doubt the Tehraanians agree with the Tarsans' arrogant assessment). The escalating scale of profoundly divorced-from-reality vitriol tossed the C.D.I.'s way by the likes of Tarsas and Rodarion matched with aggressive military deployments and oft-repeated proclamations of foreign territory that should be rightfully theirs (Drakkar for Rodarion; the Near East for Tarsas) make it undoubtedly clear that the coming "war of aggression" will be launched by the thuggish rogue-state regimes in Romula and Civitas Tarsae.

You have hand it to them, though: they do like to tell their tall tales. Too bad no intelligent consumer of news throughout Pardes is buying the snake oil they're selling.

The free states of Pardes - from Emmeria, Itailia, and Arthurista in the north to the Western Confederacy and Belfras in the west, to Valinor and Estovnia in the east, just to name a few - must ban together in opposing this travesty of justice. Luckily, we have the tools to do so: a defensive alliance in the form of the C.D.I., collectively strong, well-trained, technologically advanced militaries, and most importantly, the truth of the matter on our side.

Tarsas has made it abundantly clear it is readying for a "protracted war" of conquest in the Near East. Rodarion has been clear it intends to manufacture any opportunity to occupy Drakkar. Only the C.D.I. and the Free Pardes stands in these regimes' way. So what's your choice, fellow citizens of Pardes? Inaction to allow tyranny to triumph over freedom? Or a rallying call to say: "Enough is enough. The lies and propaganda end here. If these thuggish rogue states want to launch a war of aggression, we'll be prepared to defeat them." The choice is yours. I know where my vote goes.

The First Fleet of the Azur Kadraflotilya has been put on alert, pending a formal resolution to rising tensions between the Central Defence Initiative and the Romulă Cooperation Organisation. The alert followed a formal announcement by Evengii Vanzin, Deputy Minister of Kadraflotilya Operations in the Komitet on Sunday afternoon, stressing the heightened concerns over a possible military confrontation in Western Pardes. This is the first operational alert for the First Fleet since the 2007 Succession Crisis, and marks the first active deployment of warships on combat alert in more than a decade. Operational maneuvers are expected to begin within the next forty-eight hours, pending a full mobilization of necessary equipment.

"When we utilize the materiel resources of our naval component, the implicit message being sent is clear throughout the region," Minister Vanzin commented at an official press conference in Legnica early Sunday. "The Kadraflotilya wouldn't go on full operational alert unless things were spiraling out of control. Pardesian states must be aware of the present danger."

To help bolster the operational preparedness of the First Fleet, Legnica promoted Commodore Nicolae Khalilov to the brevet rank of theater commander late Sunday evening. Commodore Khalilov is the son of the late Admiral Ivan Khalilov, the infamous flag officer who indirectly led to the loss of five hundred sailors during the Battle of Cape Emile in 1977 during the First Trans-Ellorean War in Tarsas. A product of the Naval Adjudicatory Council in Khrystal Kohme, Khalilov served as the commander of the Fleet's flagship carrier Romanov for the last six years, and previously headed the revolutionary task force in 1998 that helped reestablish the First Fleet's preeminence in the defense of the Evenguard's southern territorial dependencies.

"If things go south in Pardesian waters, we need our best commander available to lead our forces," Vanzin commented to reporters. "Our merchant fleet will need protection, as will our strategic assets in the region."

The First Fleet of the Kadraflotilya is the oldest operational division of the Azur Navy, having been incorporated in 1756 as the Meridional Armada of the Azur Keys. Based out of Naval Station South Canal in Karlikovaya—an archipelago several hundred kilometers west of Estovnia—the First Fleet operates task forces from the High Kingdom of Orlessia to Valinor, and is responsible for the Evenguard's southernmost defense network. As part of the transition from peacetime observation to full combat alert, all military vessels operating in Pardesian regional waters will enact LOW protocols (launch on warning) to ensure the safety of the fleet. The last major naval engagement occurred between Azur and Seraphic naval forces during the Quarantine Crisis of 1995.

Hundreds of thousands attend an anti-CDI rally

General Superior of the Orducii leads rally of 'Mobilisation of the Righteous'

Over 800,000 people descended upon Saint Viktor Park in central Voluntari this evening to take part in the largest mass rally in the city's history. The rally which was led by General Superior of the Orducii, Cardinal Emilian Radulescu, gave a rousing perfomance to the vast crowd. The rally which included speeches by Papal Army commanders and the wives of ordinary soldiers was aimed to prepare the people for the inevitable clash between the righteous and the wicked, clash between the free and the oppressor. This impending clash is beyond anything in our history for centuries, not since the Third Crusade in the 16th century has the Holy See been tasked with defeating the Pagan threat. Similar Mobilisation of the Righteous Rallies have taken place across the Papal Republic, as many government officials have stated that the time has come to prepare to our upmost ability. Preparations have also included the mass evacuation of farms along the Itailian and Western Confederation borders, totalling some 300,000 people.

The Ministry of Christian Culture and Guidance has funded and arranged all the rallies, with an estimated cost at $300 million. However each venue so far tonight, Voluntari, Livada, Rovinari and Targu Bujor. Tomorrow the Archbishop of Videle is to lead the rally there, with 765,000 tickets sold at 5 Leu each, the money raised is being sent to the National Crusade Fund which will be used to produce rations, clothing and ammunition for the Papal Armed Forces. This high level of activity in preparation for war has convinced many in Rodarion that war is only weeks away.

A 47 year old, mother of four from Voluntari said this when asked questions at the rally, "I know war is coming, one of my sons is in the Papal Army, the other two are in the Orducii, I know they are ready, I can hear in their voices when they call. Am I worried for them, of course I am, I'm their mother, but I am also a patriot and a Catholic so I know that they're doing the right thing."

A 33 year old Papal Air Force was present at the rally, he said this, "I am beyond ready for the coming intervention. I pilot a VR Seraphim, so it will be me up there in the clouds fending off those Shadowhawks and F29s, I know that with each plane I shoot down, the liberation of Drakkar as an independent nation will be one step closer."

Speaking to the crowd before him Cardinal Radulescu stated, "It is important to see through the lies spun by the CDI propaganda machine, its words ordained by Lucifer himself with his poisonous tongue, they claim we are being imperialist and expansionist, but I can assure you, this nation has no such desires over the land of Drakkar, all we wish for Drakkar is to be a free sovereign nation, free from the regime that slaughter 500,000 of God's family."

Throughout his speech, the crowd roared out 'Deus Vult', 'Rodana', 'Jos cu CDI'.

"It must be made clear to the world, that you the people of this great nation under God, have no fear or doubt in our resolve to free Drakkar from the snares of the Pagan monstrosity in Ebonaevron, we must make clear to the world tonight that we are ready, to bring divine justice upon those who killed so many, in such a horrific way because the rain, the air, the hunt, the harvest and the love gods said so. It is time to bring the two thousand year struggle against Pagan barbarism towards Christendom to an end, with a total victory over paganism and its archane criminal ways, does the world hear you agree?" to which the crowd roared yes over and over.

"When the time comes and it will my dear countrymen, it shall be a brilliant time, a time of struggle, a time of faith and a time of national preservation. We shall all stand tall, shoulder to shoulder, before the watchful gaze of the Lord, marching forward as one body, trampling the forces sent before us by the evil forces of this wicked world. Because diplomacy is over, the dogs of the CDI rejected it, they refused to see the henchmen in Ebonaevron punished, they refused to see the Drakkarian people be given a chance to speak out over secession, they denied them the right after being slaughtered like animals. They claim to be the force of freedom in the region, yet they deny it to a people under threat of annihilation, this is the antics of Lucifer himself, saying one thing, but doing another, our time has come!" He continued.

"This conflict shall be the greatest of all, a chance for the people of this Eden to stand tall, ready to recieve strike by the enemy, yet unrelenting, for we hold a greater weapon than any CDI nation, we are supreme in our spirit to fight, we are superior to every CDI soldier in that we are free of fear, we are unrelenting, boundless in our ability to fight on when no other would, we can defeat them and we will, because the odds make our hearts ever bolder and our faith in the Lord to deliver us to the righteous battlefield makes us ever more audacious. We shall be a flood, unstoppable and unbreakable, we shall awash Drakkar of its vile oppressors, we shall awash Drakkar clean of the CDI dirt and we shall awash Itailia of its sinful regime. No matter the cost in lives or resources we shall fight on, until the last drop of ordained blood is spent. Hear me when I say this, this is not just a war between the evil and the good, it is a race war, between the Rodarian and the Itailian, a racial war between the children of God and the children of the Devil, let the War in Heaven be our inspiration and God's eternal victory be our precedent. To crush the Pagan menace is to crush evil in this world and that is the Rodarian man's burden, but this war goes beyond that for the forces of Islam and Judaism now join the fray, I thank God everyday that this nation is blessed with Rodarian Jews patriotic as the rest, united with us in our pursuit for the freedom of Drakkar, I pray that Belhavia and Emmeria recognise the same threat, all abrahamic faiths face. But alas it shall not be, but a conflict of biblical porporations shall be and we are ready to march to glorious victory before the cross of Christ."

The Cardinal's final statement was aimed at the nation's women, "do not fear for your sons, fathers, brothers or husbands, for they fight for you, just as they fight for God, for nation, for the freedom of Drakkar. Give them your tearless farewell, give them your love eternal, give them your prayer and give them the trust they deserve to deliver absolute victory. God bless you dear women, God bless you dear men of arms and God bless this Papal Republic, his servant eternal."

Also today, the Papal Army confirmed reports of new contingency being deployed to the Saint Viktor Islands of some 8,500 men in expectation of Estovnia joining the CDI, some 18 new surface-to-air missile systems are also being deployed the islands, whilst it was confirmed by Saint Viktor Radio that they had recieved some 45 new coast-to-sea anti-ship missiles. The Commanding officer of the Saint Viktor Defence Force (SVDF) stated that the island's garrison was more than prepared for any aggressive move against the islands be it from Belhavia or Estovnia upon its entry to the CDI. The Ministry of Defence and Homeland Security stated it had beefed up defences on the islands in expectation of diplomacy failing and the intervention becoming apparent, in face of a possible Belhavian attack. All forces on the islands have been placed on high alert and the civilian population has agreed to assist in any preparation, the Saint Viktor Orudcii Cell has also been forced into extensive training programmes on the islands, all beaches on the islands have been closed off to the public as the local Papal Army units set up coastal defences. Some 200 anti-aircraft guns have also been spotted across the seven islands, most of them found around the islands' capital, Saint Viktor.

A further 230,000 men of the Papal Army has been deployed to the Itailian border and close to 46,000 has been deployed to the island of Covasna (15km south of Itailia) in preparation of an Itailian invasion. The Ministry of Defence and Homeland Security has stated that these further deployments are key in securing the safety of Rodarian sovereignty from Itailian or CDI aggression, but repeated its call for diplomacy to begin in face of the growing crisis in Drakkar that has left close to 100,000 people dead.

Train disaster leaves 103 dead

The 1805 train to Videle derailed at high speeds according to investigators at the scene'

The 18.05 train from Falticeni to Videle has crashed some 43km outside of Falticeni, killing at least 103 people and injuring many more, officials in Moreni province have said. All 13 carriages of the train, which was travelling between Falticeni and Videle, came off the tracks near the town of Tarlui. Images from the scene showed bodies strewn near ruined carriages, and emergency crews searching the wreckage. The National Transport Safety Agency (NTSA) has been at the scene for the past hour and has begun its immediate inspection of the rail behind the wreck, looking for evidence that may provide ideas as to the cause of the disaster. Local eyewitnesses have reported hearing an explosion prior to the crash, however so far Tarlui police have not found any evidence of explosive devices.

The train which left Falticeni City Station at 18.05pm did so without incident, no strange behaviour was reported by passengers or train or station staff. The train took to its journey as expected, going forward at the standard 75 miles per hour for the Falticeni-Videle line, it stopped at Baraceni at 18.30pm and then proceded towards Videle its second and final stop, however at 18.40pm it was reported that the train had derailed and crashed. The Baraceni-Videle section of the line had recently been repaired after engineers reported that the rail itself had become damaged from lack of repairs, it was then immediately updated to modern standards in a two week engineering project.

Inspectors visited the line several days after work was finished and it was certified as 'safe'. The Papal Republic operates one of Pardes' most extensive high speed rail networks, in October 2008, 35 people were killed when a high speed train derailed whilst on the Grazu-Karteni viaduct whilst enroute from Odobesti to Darabani. Investigators found that the driver had failed to reduce speed in time for the curve on the viaduct, he was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 30 years in a Repentance Camp. In 1998, two trains collided killing over 200 people making the Uricani Train Disaster the worst in Rodarian history. Before 2000, Rodarion had over 40 major derailments a year on average, but major investment in rail safety has vastly improved that record, so the crash today is deeply concerning.

The incident today has raised questions over whether it was human error since the train must pass the B-Hasdesti curve, which is located some 30 meters behind the wreck. Some investigators have possibly recognised signs on the track walls that indicate the train may have taken the curve at a higher speed than the required to pass the curve. However the investigating team has refused to commit to any official statements until enough evidence is presented for the final brief. The families of the victims identified have been informed and a temporary morgue has been set up in the nearby village of Tara Bujor.

The Office of the Holy Inqusition has ordered an increased alert for possible terrorist activity and the Inter-Services Intelligence has been placed on high alert in case any group claims responsibility, despite the local investigators claiming terrorism is highly unlikely. The Pope has agreed to visit the wreck and consel the mourning families, a nationwide minute's silence has been called for midday tomorrow, dioceses across the Papal Republic will be holding late night masses for prayers for the families and friends of the deceased. An unprecedented diplomatic communiqué released this afternoon by Azur Premier Alexei Chernykh represents a 'seismic shift' in the foreign policy of the Evenguard. Such is the sentiment quickly filtering out of the Velikbol in Neschastnyye, where Premier Chernykh and Konsulministr Oleg Korzakhov spoke briefly on Wednesday, outlining the radical divergence in foreign policy and strategy moving forward. Upon first glance, the presently-named Strzelnica Declaration is certain to cause international reaction as word continues to filter out, though only some information is currently available to the press after today's closed-door diplomatic conference.

According to sources within the Legnica Government—including staffers present this afternoon in Neschastnyye for the conference meeting—the Evenguard of Azura has suspended all formal treatise relations with the Romulă Cooperation Organisation, pending a formal review of Azur foreign affairs in May. Furthermore, the Premier of the Azur Evenguard announced today his government's intention to enact strict neutrality in any and all Pardesian conflicts, up to and including the current crisis between the RCO and the Central Defence Initiative. It is unknown at this time how the Declaration will affect Azura's relations with the Papal Republic of Rodarion or other members of the Cooperation Organisation; no formal response has yet been received.

"The Strzelnica Declaration is the nuclear option for the Premier," political correspondent and long-time activist Andrei Zaeytsev offered during an exclusive interview with Novosti iz Lyudi. Zaeytsev, a former member of the Kozhukh Gael Raziya II cabinet delegation and a minister plenipotentiary to Tarsas, did not mince words in his analysis of the statement. "The Evenguard has burned every possible bridge connecting itself to the Romulă Cooperation Organisation. Perhaps the Premier felt as though the nation's security was more important than honoring what to him must have seemed a futile pact."

"They're burning their bridges beyond repair, so as to avoid a potential backdraft," Zaeytsev remarked.

It is not known at this time whether RCO states will respond with formal diplomatic sanctions, but the announcement of Azura's impending neutrality has not stymied Legnica's military buildup in Alkharania and Karlikovaya. At last check, the deployment of Sovmest Ekspeditsion Sila Odin (SES-One) to Au de Kalokos remains on schedule, and the Kadraflotilya First Fleet continues its combat alert preparations in Central Pardesian waters. It is worth noting that unconfirmed reports have the Sixth and Twelfth Fleets beginning to show signs of mobilization as well, though no formal government announcement has confirmed (nor denied) this condition. Evenguard leaves RCO

The Evenguard of Azura officially left the Romulă Cooperation Organisation today in a sudden and shocking move. According to a communique sent to members of the RCO from the Azuran government, the nation has chosen to leave to the organisation for the sake of diplomatic relations with non-RCO members. The sudden exit of the country has sparked outrage across the RCO, with mostly businesses suffering at the sudden exit which according to RCO rules, requires any member leaving to renegotiate all trade agreements within RCO initiatives, this also means a complete retraction of all RCO credit lines to the Azuran government and a complete shutdown of all investment deals and other economic projects. The Papal Republic has officially recognised Azura's move and in a statement, Foreign Minister Petronela Stanca said, "Although this is an unfortunate move by the Evenguard, the Papal Republic entirely respects the wishes and motivations of the Evenguard government, we are sad to see Azura leave, but all members have the right to act as they choose."

According to the communique, the Azuran government has chosen to dramatically ulter its foreign policy to that of neutrality in all serious issues within Pardes, with the current Drakkar Crisis cited as the primary reason. However senior officials at the Foreign Ministry has dismissed the reason as a cover for 'political cowardness before the CDI'. Officials at the Ministry of Economics has also given a negative view on the act by Azura, Minister for Economics Carol Hasdeu said this to reporters, "Although I respect the decision of the Azuran government, I can't help but feel that this was taken so badly and far too quickly, not only has the sudden nature sent shockwaves throughout RCO supported businesses, it also requires alot of renegotiating of trade agreements created through the RCO forum, as of now, none of this agreements exist within an RCO absent enviroment, as of now Azura can no longer enjoy the free trade agreements or investment projects, they've lost alot of money today."

Speaking to reporters, RCO General Secretary Radu Lebotescu gave a mixed feeling farewell to Azura, "Today is a sad day for the RCO, we have lost a valued member and a valued voice in our community. I am however obliged to state the RCO's annoyance at the suddeness of this move, not only did it catch the economic facets of the RCO unaware, it also caught the RCO political structure for unawares, it would be respectful for any member to make this organisation aware of any decision to leave well in advance, so that we may carry out the necessary measures that a required upon a member leaving. I will not comment on Azura's reasoning for leaving, that is the right of every member of this alliance.

I hope the Azuran government understands the short term concueqences of this sudden move, it will require alot of economic discussion and renegotiation and it will also result in the flight of financial assets and a sudden ceasation of investment, free trade agreements on all goods and an end to all other RCO initiatives such as the cultural exchange, communications and RCO wide projects in science, medicine and other programmes, unfortunate but those are the rules."

State President Ionatan Codreanu blamed CDI diplomatic agression for Azura's exit, stating in a written comment, 'It is difficult to see in this situation anything other than CDI intransigence over Azura. Typical moves by the cabal of arrogance and imperialism."

TETRU has announced that is withdrawing its works from its automobile plant in Legnica but did state it would return its operation in Azura due to an 'difficult looking future', many economists have stated today, that numerous corporations from other RCO memberstates will most probably withdraw its operations in Azura due to removal of RCO policies on low corporate taxation for companies operating due to RCO Forum actions. The plant in Legnica had close to 2,800 employees.

Belfrasian and Estovakivan businesses in historic trade agreement

Estovakiva's Irkana are quickly becoming the dominant oil organization within Pardes.

Isn Deslen, Belfras - Thursday morning was when rumors were confirmed for a lot of people. First, members of the Estovakivan's business elite were sighted landing in Isn Deslen International (IDI) last weekend. Shortly afterward a private Estovakivan jet landed bearing a man who not only looked like Estovakivan foreign affairs minister Pavel Kherkov, but who also received a full police escort into Isn Deslen. Paparazzi would have followed them to their destination, but were ordered to disperse upon reaching the inner circuit of the city - suspicious.

Estovakivan business leaders such as Irkana CEO Alexey Borisovich and Petrov Solar Cooperation CEO Natasha Petrov were sighted taking private limousines into the city, each escorted by a blacked out sedan. According to business calenders, Belfrasian Oil CEO Sebastian Melnerv was also in the city. Rumors continued to escalate when it was discovered that an entire floor of the King Anthony conference center was classified off-limits and, on wednesday, the Golden Palace started decorating it's exterior for what appeared to be a formal visitation. Thankfully, Thursday put those rumors to rest.

Deputy prime minister Dave Mennington released on Thursday morning that an Estovakivan delegation had been in the city to discuss trade relations between the two sovereign countries and had apparently not touched on the ongoing crisis between the Kingdom and the Papal Republic. While it may be a lie, it's one that was spoken before several good pieces of news hit the region. Not only would trade between the two countries be without import/export tariffs, but the Belfrasian Government would purchase approximately five percent (5%) of Irkana, Estovakiva's largest oil producer. The purchase, which is a landmark endeavor by the government, will apparently be managed by Belfrasian Oil (BOi), a government-run organization in charge of drilling operations off of Laesico's coast.

The announcement, which was made on the steps of the Golden Palace's front entrance, also includes trade ventures into the blooming Estovakivan IT and solar/hydroelectric markets. Petrov Solar Cooperation was authorized to begin analysis of several specific waterways within the Kingdom for candidates for hydroelectric dams, and several sites around the country were mentioned as candidates for solar farms. While it's believed that Irkana will also be allowed to set up shop within the country, it was not stated in the announcement.

It was not unnoticed that this particular announcement comes not long after the Evenguard announced it's departure from the RCO in order to maintain neutrality and economic ties to nations otherwise blacklisted by the organization. The move by the Evenguard was met by Rodarion shutting down business ties to the country and accusing the Central Defense Initiative (CDI) of bullying the Evenguard. Whether or not talks will now be held between the Belfrasian government and the Evenguard to finally fix relations after a long time of minimal contact economically - termed the 'Dark Time' - which began at the height of the Belfrasian Empire.

Mennington was keen to stress that this was in no way related to the ongoing crisis that is gripping the region. He stated that "This historic agreement will in no way affect or be affected by Romula or the RCO.", whilst also saying that "Estovakiva is a nation on the rise. It's oil is being noticed, it's industries being noticed. From technology in clean energy to simple commodities such as perfumes, liquors and clothing, we both have much to offer one another. With hope, this is the start of a warm and prosperous partnership and relationship between the companies and governments of our two fine countries."

The announcement was made shortly after a meeting between both delegations and His Royal Highness King James ended. The meeting, which was to formally sign the agreement between the two countries, was co-signed by the King who was also witness to the beginning of talks between Belfrasian Oil and Irkana for the purchase of 5% of it's shares. The purchase is expected to introduce Belfrasian influence to drilling sites in that oil and fuel companies would be able to purchase oil directly from Irkana for import. Pirate joes, a famous fish wholesaler, also announced that the agreement would enable them to purchase freshly-caught salmon in bulk from the country. Since the ban on Salmon fishing in the Belfrasian Gulf following the deaths of nearly ten Black-fin Whales in 2009, the country has been relying on small salmon farms around the country.

Whilst not an intended response, twitter began to trend "#BelfrasianGreen2014" as a response to Menningtons announcement, which stressed that clean energy was the future that the Conservative party would take should it be elected in next months elections. The statement appeared to be out of touch with official party politics, which stated that taxing vehicles entering Isn Deslen would hamper city growth despite the rising emissions within the city. The formal opposition, and the main opposition in the upcoming elections, the Unionist Party had been championing clean energy since 2012 and are expected to try to capitalize on the agreement.

State President: Itailia underestimates the Papal Republic

State President Ionatan Codreanu addressed the Holy Assembly this evening, in what is being recognised as the first official indication that a Rodarian intervention in Drakkar will happen. He praised the support of the Assembly since the December 9th Coup that resulted in the enaction of Protocol 45/A under the Constitution, he also praised the Rodarian people for their support and constant dedication to the service of the nation and the Mother Church and he also praised the Papal Armed Forces for their dedication to the security of the Papal Republic from the aggression of the Itailian Empire and their CDI associates. He also slammed the CDI for their constant high handed response to the Papal Republic, especially their constant rejection of Rodarion's offer for a diplomatic solution. He also rejected their underestimation of the Papal Republic's resolve, conviction and military capabilities.

Speaking to Assembly members, "I thank you, all of you, for your constant support for this government and the cooperation you have offered. Together we will build a prosperous and strong Rodarion, but first we must deal with the crisis before us in Drakkar. Together we will certainly lead the Papal Republic and the Drakkar people to lasting peace and freedom." All 1,300 MAs were present, with Minister of the Civil Service, Octavian Ceaușescu giving a short speech, commending the actions of the Ecclesiastical Security Commission in protecting Rodarion from Pagan extremism.

The State President also said, "I must also thank the Rodarian people for their resolute defence of the Papal Republic, their continued service to the nation and the Mother Church, their constant stern attitude towards the forces of evil in this world and above all their pride in their nation, which has kept the Papal Armed Forces ever so energised as they stand upon our borders protecting us from Pagan terrorism. But the Papal Armed Forces themselves require gratitude, since they today are the foundation upon which this church-state stands, they uphold our traditions, culture, faith and security upon their shoulders, they defend our people, they defend our Eden and they defend our Mother Churh. But these dark times have required them to carry the hopes and aspirations of freedom for the Drakkarian people, who still to this day fight on a daily basis for such a right under God, they are the heart of this nation, that beats steadily to defend the soul - the Church."

His address comes as further 'Mobilisation of the Righteous' rallies continue across the country, with Botoșani, Brailă, Romulă and Targu Bujor having rallies with an average 150,000 people in attendance. The Mayor of Voluntari, Ekaterina Popescu addressed a large crowd outside the Municipality's Assembly Hall, in which she declared the next few weeks, the "final hours of the CDI diseased beast."

With regards to the intervention, State President Codreanu made all doubts clear, "The intervention will happen, the time is coming, there has been no answer to our diplomatic calls, there's has been no action by the OPA as a means for peace, the CDI wants war, they wish to use the deaths of 500,000 people to crush our nation. Envious for the Papal Republic for its military, political and economic rise over the past 30 years, they wish to destroy us. Why? Because we threaten their idealic bubble of existance, a Pardes dominated by arrogance, self interest, imperialism and neo-liberalism. They want the order of things preserved and they would perversly use the genocide of Christians as a means to an end, but they are in for a shock. I am sure military chiefs in Viridia, Ebonaevron, Oured, Provisa and Loweport are smiling and drinking champagne for they foresee a short war, a total victory within weeks. They do not recognise the capability of this Papal Republic, they do not respect us at all as a legitimate military power. If they wish to see a short victory, they should ready themselves for a Rodarian short victory, because we have the means and above all the will to win.

"If geography allowed us, we would march upon all those cities and teach them a lesson in humility and respect, we would bring them the wrath of God like legions of Angels. And that is what we shall do for Drakkar, we shall unleash the legions of heaven upon Itailia and we will secure the security, peace and freedom of Drakkar since it is brutally denied by an alliance that claims to defend such things, this intervention will bring truth to Pardes, that the CDI is nothing more than a collection of arrogant, hypocritical imperialist brigands. The Armies of the Righteous shall be unrelenting in their pursuit of freedom for Drakkar and the CDI must fear us for that, we are fearless, we are endless and we are ready for the pain and loss that war sadly brings, I ask you, are they?"

The State President recieved applause throughout most of his address to the Holy Assembly, all members of the ESC were present, sitting the State President's left. In recent days, all members of the ESC have been busy dealing with the major military deployments to the borders with Itailia, the WC and Belfras, Deputy State President Atticus Flavrescu has spent the past two weeks overseeing a major military exercise 10km north of the city of Vesarius.

Speaking further, "The CDI doubts our ability to fight, yet the Papal Army is one of the largest and well armed in Pardes, it is a modern and capable fighting force, they are so sure of their dominance in the skies, yet we have some of the best surface-to-air missile systems in Pardes, they are so sure of their dominance of the seas, yet the Papal Navy is design to defend the Sea of Orlessia from their barbaric schemes, we have spent the past 30 years ensuring this country not only has the will but the means to carry out the will of the Mother Church and to defend this great nation from hostile forces that circle us like vultures. Everywhere you look in the Papal Republic, we stand ready. We stand ready in Saint Viktor where the Estovnian nation prepares to enter the CDI for the means of expansionism and aggression, I assure you all, should they make any step in an aggressive nature towards those islands, we will fight to the bitter end to ensure they remain within the hands of Rodarion. I regreat to say that Estovnia has sipped from the poisonous chalice of the CDI and I pray they do not act because of it.

We are ready and we are capable, the CDI's arrogance has led them on a road to war, their underestimation of this nation is deep withim them and they shall reap the whirlwind."

In Romulă, 35,000 Orducii members staged a rally today outside the burnt out ruins of the Belhavian Embassy, with a Romulă captain declaring, "Where ever the war goes, we shall go, if we must we will sail to the shores of Belhavia and set ablaze their existance and render them to ash", similar Orducii rallies have ocurred over the past few weeks, with most being themed on the impending intervention.

Last night, his Holiness the Pope declared that any intervention in Drakkar would be a Crusade and he would lead the Papal Republic to absolute victory in the name of God. He is expected to address the nation tomorrow in respect to the ongoing crisis. It was also announced today, that the two Belhavian Embassy guards are to be publically tried tomorrow on six counts of murder and espionage, both charges are punishable by death.

Belhavian Embassy Guards on trial

State Prosecutor Mion Hasdeu addressed the court in his opening statement, calling the trial a 'test against foreign violence'

The five Belhavian Embassy Guards arrested in January for killing six Rodarian citizens during the Embassy Protest have appeared in court for the first day of their trial. All five are being tried collectively and are being represented by Public Prosecutor, Ciodaru Stefan who was appointed as their defence lawyer by the Ministry of Justice, the State Prosecutor is seasoned lawyer, Mion Hasdeu; he was involved in the State v Pekurar case which saw Hasdeu successfully send Petru Pekurar to death for the murder of 19 women from 1988 to 2004, the trial was marred by weak evidence and reported police interference within the witnesses. Hasdeu is renown for his attention to detail and harsh cross-examinations of the defendents.

Daniel Cohen, 31, Michael Goldman, 27, Robert Gill, 21, Zachary Sachs, 22 and Julius Goldblum, 33 all face the death penalty for violently gunning down six protesters in January when they stormed the Belhavian Embassy, however under Rodarian law a citizen is legally allowed to kill an aggressor if armed with a firearm, however the aggressor must also be armed with a firearm, Romulă Police confirmed that the six individuals were unarmed, meaning they would face murder charges. Since they're arrest in January, Cohen and Sachs recieved medical treatment for injuries sustained immediately after they opened fire, they were then transfered to the Fadaresti Maximum Security Prison located 13km east of Romulă.

The National Prosecution Service (NPS) attempted to push for charges of terrorism against the five, however the Papal Supreme Court denied them this under the fact that the incident occured on the boundaries of the Embassy, which under international law is Belhavian territory and therefore the act was not aimed at the Papal Republic. However the case has sparked huge criticism both in the Papal Republic and abroad, as many domestic groups are saying the shooting took place within the Embassy and therefore they should be extradited to Belhavia to face trial, foreign groups say the same. However the NPS and Romulă Police have refused to allow them to be extradited. Others have stated that the Guards acted within their remit, the NPS has stated that the 'use of fatal force by the Guards was not reasonable in face of unarmed protesters, should the guards have used tear gas or non-lethal weapons, they would be home in Belhavia.'

The court is being presided over by Judge Rozalia Sollomovici, one of Rodarion's most recognised female Judges, she addressed the court stating 'this case is a unique one for Rodarian law, there are issues at hand that will determine the sentence of these five men. I request that the court addresses this case with professionalism and respect for this court."

In his opening address, defence representative, Ciodaru Stefan said, "these five young men, were present at the Embassy that night, they were tasked with the security and protection of the Embassy itself and all those working within it. Before them, for the entire day was a mass of people being held back by both Papal Army soldiers and Romulă police officers, there is strong evidence, that is strong in this court, which shows these security personnel, letting the crowd surge forward and enter the embassy grounds, these people, evidence suggests were Orducii members, they had violent and vandal like intentions for the embassy and those inside. So I ask this court, your honour to, to respect their position; you're tasked with protecting those inside, you're being charged at by a huge mass of people, who look menacing, your imm ediate action is to take whatever action there was before you and that was, in this case the use of their firearms. I support the case, that these five men acted within their means, these men acted out of utter fear of what was coming at them and what would happen to them and their co-workers, their ations was nothing more than self-defence, these men are not murderers, they did not plan, they did not expect and above all they did not intend to kill anyone, but the situation was beyond the control of any individual, them, the police, the Papal Army, the people present, these men are innocent of murder."

In response, State Prosecutor Mion Hasdeu gave his opening statement. "Your honour, this court. The five men sitting there, are murderers, they are. They stood ready to meet the crowd that was infuriated by weeks of lies, aggression and hatred that was given out by their government and the neighbouring embassies, these five men, taunted the crowd and the men tasked to stop the crowd w from venting legitimate anger. These five men saw the crowd snap, tired of their unprofessional, obnoxious behaviour to the situation and break into the embassy grounds, they knew what was coming and they took it upon themselves to open fire with their firearms and shoot dead six people, instead of using tools usually used in the event of a riot like situation, they used live ammunition, they were so pumped by their hatred of the Rodarian nation and the Rodarian people, they were so pumped by their eagerness to wind up the crowd, they took it upon themselves to shoot dead these unarmed six people and wound 20 others.

They took their government led hatred, their racial and sectarian hatred and used to fuel them that night. They were not scared, they were not fearful, they were just foaming at the mouth to shoot dead six people, who were expressing their anger at the crisis on the international stage, these five men knew that night that they were going to kill, slain, murder six people, they wanted to kill more, they wanted to know that they were in control of the situation, they wanted to feel the power of standing before an unarmed group of people with loaded guns and they proved that control, by pre-meditated murder. These men are the agents of foreign violence, they left all their training and restraint behind and took straight to the spilling blood, Rodarian blood. These men are guilty of murder, that is certain."

Since Rodarion's court system doesn't have juries like other nations in Pardes, the Judge holds all the power, who decideds the verdict and sentence. The judge is assisted by two assesors. According to press releases, the prosecution is using evidence by witnesses, CCTV, ballistics and character identities. Romulă Police has confirmed that it has recieved character information of the five suspects from eight embassy staff, which according to Mion Hasdeu proves that these suspects have deep seated hatred towards Rodarians and was key to their decesion to murder six people. The defence however is counting on the context of the case as a means to present their actions as reasonable, especially their role as military guards, the defence is also using eye-witness reports that the initial people breaking into the embassy were armed with metal bars and knives, the defence is also using previous criminal cases on which the Rodarian laws on self defence being bypassed and used to excuse crimes.

The State Prosecutor will present his evidence tomorrow and begin cross examinations of the defendents on Monday.

Congress Issues Symbolic Writ of Outlawry Against Leading Rodarian Officials

Though the Quarterly Joint Session of the Congress of the United Confederacy often involves various voting schemes (including the annual budgetary review), in the recent decade, these joint sessions of the Senate and House of Yeomen have been utilized as a means to officially declare protest against certain policies and practices executed abroad. Largely symbolic in nature, these often quasi-procedural votes have trended to bring light to certain issues within Pardes which the confederal government finds heinous, unnecessary, or troubling. In its closing session of 2013, for example, Congress voted to officially condemn several new policies enacted by states in western Pardes - most notably Estovakiva - involving otherwise bellicose actions which, as stated, were believed to "bring considerable detriment to the overall liberty of the free peoples of Pardes".

In the final voting call of last night's Quarterly Joint Session, however, the Confederate Congress seemed to wish to send a message, stepping one step farther than mere condemnation or admonishment, officially issuing a Writ of Outlawry against the Rodarian Ecclesiastical Security Commission (successor to the Papal Security Council) and its members, with special mention toward the current Rodarian State President Ionatan Codreanu (seen right).

Previously considered an archaic legal instrument, in Alleghanian law, a Writ of Outlawry is a formal written order which, in certain circumstances, might be issued by a sitting or special joint session of Congress. Dating back to the Golden Circle of the Alloquians, the writ is a nominally pre-constitutional, common law instrument which, while officially still binding in respect to its issuance domestically, no legislative session has sought its issuance since 1886 against David LeMarck for his notorious use of explosives to seal a competitor's employees within a coal shaft, ultimately resulting in the death of twenty-five miners from the State of Nashoba.

Having faded from common issues of jurisprudence, few legal experts outside of constitutional law specialists were even aware of its existence according to a recent Kohen poll in Jefferson Compact, leading to some degree of confusion amongst Alleghanians in regard to what the issuance of such a writ actually means.

In accordance with confederal law, a Writ of Outlawry may only be issued by a combined quorum of the confederal legislative branch; further, it may only be issued against a person or persons whom have "proven themselves to be a detriment not merely to the United Confederacy", but also to the "Life, Liberty, and Property of all free persons". Officially, the writ is issued as to proscribe a person or group of persons from legal protection under Alleghanian law - including a proscription of the protections afforded through citizenship and those enumerated through both the Articles of Confederation and constitutional law.

In the past, a Writ of Outlawry was as far as the confederal government was willing to step in regard to the possibility of a severe punishment for certain crimes against the state and people of the Confederacy - including acts of terrorism, violent sedition, and felonious homicide. As such, nominally, such a writ allowed any person whom held Alleghanian citizenship to persecute, initiate aggressive coercion, and even kill a person proscribed in such a way without fear of legal reprisal, thus permitting the possibility of indirect, retributive justice against persons deemed so threatening to the stability of the Confederacy or to the liberties of confederate citizens.

Until its symbolic issuance yesterday evening, the Writ of Outlawry has been an unused (and sometimes heavily criticized) legal instrument reserved to the confederal government spare for a total of six times. First issued in 1814 against the Northern Tribe of the Alloquians for repeated raiding, harassment, and attacks against Alleghanian settlers; next used three times against various Native Alleghanian war-parties during the 1826-1833 War of the Plains; issued once against Mormon separatist Brigham Nathaniel Boots following his arson against the Estacada Township Hall for their refusal to permit Mormon polygamists to become members of the town's governing council in 1881; and, lastly, against David LeMarck in 1886. As such, with its recent issuance, the Writ of Outlawry has seemingly been resurrected after nearly one-hundred, thirty years of being permitted to sit in the back of the confederal government's proverbial legal toolbox.

Nevertheless, Senate G.O.A. Whip Lionel Mitchem stated that "truthfully, the issuance of [the Writ of Outlawry] has no legal weight due to its issuance against non-Alleghanians or a non-legal resident", further stipulating that, "[our] execution of [the writ] is one which is purely symbolic - one of protest, not of legal authority." When further asked as to the reasoning, Mitchem stated that "due to repeated offenses against not merely the sensibilities of the free peoples of Pardes", but also due to an "ongoing 'anti-corruption' campaign" which has lead to the arrest or detention of nearly one hundred thousand Rodarian citizens, including over fifty legislators - many believed to be arrested solely due to their political dissent or disagreement with the Ecclesiastical Security Commission or its predecessor, the Papal Security Council.

In total, Congress' writ is directed toward nearly twenty leading, Rodarian government officials - including State President Codreanu, several superior officers of the Rodarian military hierarchy, and at least one member of the vast theocratic bureaucracy of the Papal Republic - an action which drew some criticism from several small, Francine Catholic diocese in southern Alleghania. Even so, minutes for the First Quarterly Joint Session of Congress for 2014 indicate that the Writ of Outlawry was passed through a procedural vote of unanimous consent, indicating that the writ did not receive floor status or an official legislative reading, but was passed through an informal, procedural vote without voiced dissent from members of the Senate or the House of Yeomen - a relative rarity in the Alleghanian legislative process.

Despite Congress' vote, however, a representative of the State Department, seemingly seeking to dissuade fears amongst Rodarian-Alleghanians or Rodarian tourists or legal residents, stated that "[the writ] will not detrimentally impact relations [with the Papal Republic]", further echoing Whip Mitchem's statement that the writ is "legally null" and that "the executive branch maintains authority in regards to diplomatic foreign policy" as per both constitutional law and "legal and common precedent in regard to its execution and [the confederal government's] pursuit of diplomatic relations beyond official treaties or agreements" as those explicitly reserved or enumerated as beneath the authority of Congress.

Belhavian-Alleghanian Business, Political Communities Cheer New Pact

PROVISA, NEW BELHAVIA — Bookending a flurry of regional trade-pact signings, the Goldman Administration just announced the 'Provisa Treaty', a historic free trade agreement and treaty of improved, closer economic ties with the Confederacy of Alleghania, the region's foremost bastion of neutrality and a key Belhavian ally and trade partner. The treaties are among the most complicated, extensive, and comprehensive of any signed by Belhavia, approaching the level of economic and trade ties the Empire has with the United Republic of Emmeria and the Western Confederation, two allies who have what analysts have long called a "special relationship" with Belhavia. Well-known to most regional experts, Alleghania has strong ties to both nations as well. In popular culture on the Internet, these four countries are often referred to as the 'Liberty Bloc' among bloggers for their similar political cultures and intimate geopolitical alliances. This pact comes just weeks after rumors emanating out of Alleghania assert that the Loveless Administration is interested into creating a trade network centered around the four so-called 'Liberty Bloc' nations, though there has been no public confirmation of this speculation.

Analyst: The Treaties "Have Breadth"

Both nations have light tax, regulatory, and import/export control regimes, but the free trade deal expands upon the original 1992 agreement to reduce tariffs, regulations, fees, and transit policies from the agricultural and agriscience sectors to "completed goods" industries such as retail manufacturing and Information Technology products, as well as telecommunications, domestic energy markets, and capital goods industries.

In addition, both countries will open up their international free trade zones to each other's markets. This clause is a particular coup for Belhavian firms because it would grant them expedited commercial range without entering custom zones, where they can then sell their goods at a higher price due to them being complete products, with substantial tax and fee savings for those enterprises because of that classification, and a trickle-down reduction in prices for consumers at home. One sector that will benefit significantly from this access are Belhavia's oil & gas industry, led by Gray Industries & Oil Consortium. The international free trade zones will allow a firm such as Gray Industries to have the crude oil it extracts from offshore rigs in Alleghanian waters to be re-processed at refineries far nearer, without qualifying to pay customs.

Harold Blomburg, a noted energy market analyst and adjutant professor of economics at Freeport University, calculated that "decreasing the necessity to purchase petroleum products from the Near-East, which is under threat from a possible Tarsan invasion, or rogue states as Estovakiva, which is projected to be the region's biggest oil exporter over the next five-to-ten-year window, is a big plus for Belhavia." He added, "In the short-term, we'll like see a shift between 6% and 8% away from either Mid-East or Estovakivan oil imports, which will snowball into more oil from allies or domestic consumption if the fracking revolution intensifies in the Far South. With this trade deal, I'd say that is a likely event."

Additional Agricultural Ties, Firm Partnerships Will Boost Yields, Arable Land

In the economic treaty, an extensive clause created reciprocal "Rural Enterprise Zones" in both Belhavia and Alleghania. Economist Jeffrey Sachs, a Belhavian negotiator in these treaties, explained the benefits of these zones: "[The] ones in Alleghania will enable Alleghanian agricultural businesses to teach and invest in Belhavian bio-agriscience firms to help them increase agricultural quotes in our harsher environments, while the [zones] here in Belhavia allow our companies to do similar with a focus on investing in Alleghanian bio-science. Ultimately, this would increase the Empire's domestic arable production and increase the Confederacy's ability to focus on bio-pharmaceutical sciences."

Sachs continued, elaborating that "this would mean that products normally not grown in both places could receive further research. And by working with Alleghania, [Belhavian] businesses would learn how to more efficiently maximize crop yields. Not to mention grow food there - which could then be shipped back here to the Empire proper. On the flip side, Alleghania would learn how to handle more pharmaceutically-oriented crops [cold-temperate and subarctic staple crops of which Belhavia specializes in growing]. It's a pure win-win proposition."

Also in the treaty are provisions to pare back scientific regulations to allow Belhavian and Alleghanian firms to do joint ventures in GM food research, which is expected to cross and mingle, creating better food-stuffs and higher growth yields.

Markets Excited at Treaties' Energy Sector Terms

The free trade deal's light government touch towards allowing partnerships with Alleghanian enterprises in New Belhavia's energy sector is expected to intensify the arctic Far South's fracking revolution, bringing new oil and natural gas deposits within reach of southern Belhavia's concentration of oil companies. Several leading businesses from both countries expressed interest in joint ventures and partnerships in renewable energy research, particularly in improving solar and wind technologies. New Belhavia has an above-region average of energy sources derived from so-called "green" energy, and the likely Alleghanian investment is predicted to pioneer breakthroughs in the coming two decades.

When news broke of the signing of the 'Provisa Treaty', the Provisa Stock Exchange gained 788 points by close of day, its best percent-increase in 2014. In Alleghania, the major Ambrosia Exchange Index rose 180 points, one of the largest single-day increases in recent memory.

Jefferson House Confirms "July Roundtable" Though Roster Remains Uncertain
Rumors of a so-called bloc between "the peoples of liberty" fly unabated amidst "Provisa Treaty" signing.

Since this afternoon's official announcement of the "Provisa Treaty", solidifying nearly a decade's worth of increasing economic cooperation and trade between the United Confederacy and the New Belhavian Empire, social media has been fluttering with rumors surrounding both the potential prosperity such an agreement is likely to foster and about an ongoing rumor spurred by President Elias Loveless' ^(GOA) inauguration address; specifically the so-called desire of the Loveless Administration to bring about a "unity of purpose, a growth of cooperation, and burgeoning of free philosophy between the peoples of liberty" within Pardes.

Known amongst bloggers and political pundits as the "Free Compact of Pardes" and the "CORE" (standing for the Alleghanian Confederacy, the Western Confederation, the United Republic, and the Belhavian Empire), though known popularly as simply the "Liberty Bloc", rumors of such a cooperative agreement began flourishing almost immediately following Loveless' first inaugural address, culminating today with the official announcement of what has been called by the Jefferson House Press Secretary Maria Perriet (pictured right) as the "July Roundtable".

"It is true," Press Secretary Perriet stated during the 6:00PM (WST) Jefferson House press conference, "several regional allies will be coming to Ambrosia to meet with officials of [the Loveless Administration] regarding certain matters of pressing importance in Pardes - both immanently and in regard to future growth." When questioned by FNC Jefferson House correspondent Michael Kilmeade, Perriet merely concluded that "certain details regarding the July Roundtable will be released at a later date, though I feel confident in stating, at the behest of the President, that several close allies will be attending, including those from the [Belhavian] Empire."

This statement has resulted in an explosion of speculation amongst several social media outlets; a popular search engine noted that, within the last twenty-four hours, searches for "Liberty Bloc", "CORE", and "Loveless' plans for Pardes" have increased by nearly six hundred percent. A currently rising trend (or "hash-tag") which seems to be peaking amongst bloggers and unofficial commentators, #LovelessForLiberty, has drawn attention from several international media outlets due to a ninety minute downtime the "hash-tag" and its sudden influx of commentators caused amongst social networks. Even so, not all commentary involving the so-called "Liberty Bloc" has been positive; renowned nativist and National Agrarian Front Party Chairman Ernest Duke has criticized the Loveless Administration's desire to "increase ties" with several governments in Western Pardes which, traditionally, have remained distant from the Confederacy. Stating on his April 23rd, 8:00PM (WST) radio show, Alleghania Alone: "I'm unsure what Loveless is planning, but I know if he's trying to buddy-up to the Belfrasians or Azurans, that [the NAF] will be having no part of it."

"Mister Duke has no reason to fear," Perriet stated in response to a Central Broadcasting Service correspondent's questioning of the NAF Party Chairman's concerns, "[the President] has no desire to attempt to 'usurp the Confederacy' or its rich traditions. [...] But the President, also, has no desire to allow like-minded nations - and their people - to flounder when so desperately they try to keep their heads above water. [...] We have friends in the West, and we intend to become closer to them."

Despite minimal domestic criticism - or, perhaps, because of it - the growing rumors involving the foundation of a "Liberty Bloc" alliance seem to be doing everything but decreasing. With the announcement of the "July Roundtable", specifically with the refusal of Press Secretary Perriet to confirm whom will be attending, both unofficial commentators and pundits alike have taken wind of the storm of social curiosity. Speculation from both social networks and newswires have ranged from the possibility of a joint conference between the Confederacy and the Ancient Kingdom of Valinor, to far more grounded likelihoods of a meeting between the United Republic, the Empire of New Belhavia, the Western Confederation, and the United Confederacy. This latter rumor prompted several lines of questioning from news outlets toward Perriet, though no matter of speculation was confirmed.

This announcement comes on the heels of a highly-publicized trip conducted by President Loveless, the First Family, and several Alleghanian entrepreneurs to the Belhavian Empire - which further came to a head with the announcement of a joint Alleghanian-Belhavian free trade agreement, the "Provisa Treaty". Such a quick succession of events involving increased cooperation between the Confederacy and the international community, to some, seems both out-of-place for a Grand Old Alleghania presidency and as a welcome respite, harkening back to similar endeavors undertaken by President Marshall in the early 1990's. Since such, the Confederacy has largely remained distant from international affairs; in 1994, President Boudreaux (often criticized for his apparent NAF-leanings) even went so far as to rally for several controversial additions to the Alleghanian Law of Armed Neutrality, though such ultimately did not pass the Senate - an event called the "Boudreaux Bungle" - due to the sudden filibuster pressed by Bourdeaux's own party members due to concerns involving possible repercussions potentially leading to a weakening of the Alleghanian economy, ultimately killing the bill.

Even so, some criticism remains sound. Senate GOA Whip Lionel Mitchem stated, in response to the Jefferson House press conference that "while increased cooperation with our close allies - the Emmerians, the Belhavians, and the like - can certainly only strengthen our resolve in the eyes of [the international community] [...] we must always be cautious to put Alleghanian concerns first and remember the lessons of history as to not becoming tied-down by burdensome alliances [...] which might put our legal neutrality in jeopardy."

Officially, the Law of Armed Neutrality places restrictions on certain alliance and treaty schemes conducted-by the Confederacy and places certain reserves against permitting Alleghania from entering into "knots of impassioned and irrational resolve". Traditionally, this has prohibited the United Confederacy from entering into treaties which have obligatory mutual defense or "mandated protection" clauses, as well as those which might otherwise infringe upon Alleghanian sovereignty through the establishment of an international military force or which otherwise would require commitments from the Confederal Armed Forces to theaters or into conflicts which do not directly involve an immanent threat to the Confederacy.

Further, Alleghanian neutrality prohibits the entering-into "any alliance, treaty, or international scheme" which might otherwise be "apparently disastrous" to the domestic economy or those which "damage the Alleghanian free and open market", "rely on protectionist restrictions", or otherwise "infringe upon the life, liberty, and property" of Alleghanian citizenry.

Adherence to such strict restrictions have lead to a mutual respect of the Confederacy amongst most, if not all, members of the Pardesi community; there have been no incidents involving Alleghanian hostility against an armed belligerent for over one hundred years, and a strict twenty-four hour "maintenance and haul quarter" has been respected since the law's ratification. Though there have been a number of incidents involving the Law of Armed Neutrality's requirement of belligerents carrying prisoners of war to surrender such persons to the Confederacy until the cessation of hostilities, none have lead to further conflict or some manner of international incident - largely due to the mutual neutrality, level, and equal pressing of this requirement, regardless of which side to a given conflict a belligerent might belong.

Nevertheless, Jefferson House Press Secretary Perriet stated that "the July Roundtable will not result in a changing of [our policies of neutrality]; its purpose is to strengthen our levels of friendship and cooperation with already established allies, not to foster the creation of some over-arching and military-binding commitment, such as the Organization for Pardesi Affairs or the Central Defense Initiative - of which [...] several of our closest allies belong."

Even so, amongst both social networks and media outlets, speculation and rumors continue to grow and flourish; with over two months until the announced conference in Ambrosia, it seems likely that such will continue until the meeting or, in the least, until a roster for the "July Roundtable" is officially announced.

President Vaziri to visit Ambrosia in July
U.R. president confirms intention to attend Ambrosia "roundtable"

During a visit to Al-Jumlah Air Base near Yadub, UAS, UR President Alex Vaziri confirmed earlier rumors today that he is attending a multinational summit in Ambrosia, Alleghania in July. The conference, nicknamed the "July Roundtable," will cover emerging regional developments and concerns to foster a closer relationship between Oured, Ambrosia, and other key allies.

YADUB — President Alex Vaziri confirmed to reporters during a media conference that he is attending the "July Roundtable" summit in Ambrosia, Alleghania in light of recent regional developments.

"I will be visiting Ambrosia to discuss increased economic, security, and political cooperation," he said at Question Time. "Alleghania is a key United Republic ally, and we share deep-rooted historical ties and shared liberal values that reinforce our democratic tradition. Strengthening our mutual relationship will be beneficial for both countries and for free peoples around the world."

President Vaziri gave the comments during a three-day trip to the Unified Akkadiyan States, visiting members of the United Republic's 308th Air Expeditionary Wing in Al-Jumlah Air Base near the UAS's primary economic capital, Yadub. His visit there was intended to assure his commitment to Emmerian forward-deployed servicemen and women.

President Vaziri's statements followed social media rumors expressed throughout political circles exploring the potentiality of a "Liberty Bloc", a possible multinational geopolitical organization, particularly after revelations from senior Ambrosia officials confirming the the existence of the conference. Rumors suggest potential involvement of the Empire of New Belhavia and the Western Confederal States, but these rumors are currently unsubstantiated.

A senior Vaziri administration official familiar with the situation, speaking under the condition of anonymity because they were unauthorized to discuss the matter with the press, indicated that a possible joint economic pact was very likely. "Numerous emerging Pardesian developments are up for discussion, but the reduction of trade barriers between parties to the conference is near the top of the agenda," the official said.

When prompted at Question Time on the possibility of a formal agreement of that type, Vaziri declined to comment. "I am currently not at liberty to discuss the details of the visit," he said. "As I've indicated, the conference will discuss regional cooperation and strengthen relationships with the United Republic and its international partners in the name of cooperation, peace, and liberty."

The revelation of the summit from senior administration officials in Ambrosia came after the announcement of the Provisa Treaty, an expanded economic agreement between New Belhavia and the Alleghanian confederacy entailing the bilateral reduction of trade barriers and promotion of increased economic cooperation. After Vaziri's declaration of intent, rumors of the "Liberty Bloc" organization are more widespread than ever, though the rumors are predominantly mere speculation.

BREAKING: Mob rebellion in Grang!
2,000 Godless "revolutionaries" revolt against the state!

Grang, Sattahip Prefecture — Despite the efforts undertaken to educate and entertain the citizenry, two thousand worthless individuals have revolted against the state in Grang, a town of 5,000 residents 22 kilometres from Sattahip. Although their principal motives are unknown, they have failed to discipline themselves into working for the nation and have, as such, rendered themselves unworthy of even seeing our glorious flag. These two thousand individuals have taken up arms against the average Siamese person, killing over 150 women, children, honourable men and even the elderly as well, without remorse.

It began in 09.00 am when the National Gendarmerie launched an attack on a warehouse where 25 failed boys and girls were gambling and "indulging" in drug abuse. Their failures have angered a segment of the population of a similar calibre and, as a result, a rebellion broke out. 2nd batallion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, were ordered in to restore order in the lawless city of Grang, in which these godless revolutionaries massacred citizen after citizen for 8 hours. Attack helicopters and armoured vehicles flocked the town of Grang and deployed tear gas en masse to disrupt the rioters, some of whom succumbed while most were wearing gas masks. Our soldiers were forced to use their guns as a last resort, as those worthless persons charged at them with machetes and were attacking them with missile weapons. The enemies of the state were massacred, as they deserved.

After those eight hours have passed, order was restored, and 1,053 worthless subjects were exterminated, 567 were arrested and the rest are missing, having escaped into the jungle. But sadly, 25 glorious heroes of our security forces and 153 innocent civilians payed the ultimate price. We shall remember them, as the Government have declared a day of mourning over the loss of our brave citizens and soldiers and gendarmes. The citizenry of Grang can now sleep peacefully, however a reconstruction effort is in order as damage was caused, which cost our state coffers B$500,000.

The Gendarmerie are on the hunt for the masterminds of this unholy rebellion. Those who were arrested are held on remand and have confessed to committing these hedious crimes. Although all were Siamese, it is suspected that foreigners may be present in Grang and may have incited the rebellion. The Gendarmerie are investigating these possible links and, interrogations complete, pressed charges on those worthless subjects. They will all appear before the prefectural penal court tomorrow where the judge will decide their fate. According to the Penal Code, they face, just for the rebellion, 10 years in prison, B$10,000 in fines and 22 strokes of the cane. For those who carried weapons, they will be punished with 50 years in prison and 900 strokes of the cane. For those who killed people, a dishonourable death penalty is in order.

A gazette has been published in all cities, towns and villages of Siami, stating that any foreigner who travelled to Grang should be referred to the authorities for questioning.
