BLUE PAGES ++ 73 NATIONS SERVED!
Welcome to the hopefully-to-be-comprehensive list and database of telecommunications data for all nations willing to participate. 'Blue Pages' seeks to provide a quick and handy source of data for all those seeking information in this area, as well as to centralise the information that already exists on telecommunications that is presently available. All that national governments need to do to qualify for inclusion in the 'Blue Pages' is to fill out this quick and simple form (but please read the example and annotations prior to submission!):
- Code: Select all
Nation Name:
Percent of population with internet access:
Percent of population with telephone access:
Internet TLD:
Calling Code:
Here is an example (with annotations in brackets and italicised - responses are in blue):
Nation Name: Imperial Dominion of Voltrovia (short or full nation-names are acceptable, so long as they are correctly spelt.)
Percentage of population with internet access (estimates acceptable): 94.5% (this refers to the percentage of the population who usually use the internet at least once every day)
Percentage of population with telephone access (estimates acceptable, cellular; satellite and landline included): 99.8% (this refers to the percentage of the population who own a phone of some kind or have one in their household)
Internet TLD (more than one may be provided): .vt (your nation's version of .org;.uk;.fr;etc.)
Calling Code: +45 (what needs to be dialled to reach your country on an international call)
Please don't mispell your nation name.
Also, please only TG me if I haven't updated the thread for some time or if you spot a mistake. It's not that I don't like TGs, just that everything's more efficient if submissions are made here.
A short word on Naming Conventions
If a country such as the Imperial Dominion of Voltrovia submitted its full name, as above, its name in the database would be recorded as Voltrovia, Imperial Dominion of. If only the name Voltrovia had been submitted, its name would have been recorded simply as Voltrovia. If a nation such as West Nationland were to submit its full name - perhaps the Rogue State of West Nationland - it would be recorded as West Nationland, Rogue State of, going in the W section instead of the N section. The convention is the same if it had just submitted West Nationland ==> West Nationland. This is because geographical and directional markers included in nation-names actually form part of their name for ordering reasons, unlike their full formal appellations.
