Vena Games Studios, San Francisco, January 2nd, 1989

Roland tried to think of a game that he could make for Vena. The Studio was founded just yesterday by their parent company, Vena Corporation. They had to make games in order to get money for the Corporation, and Roland got an idea. A porcupine named Ronic who had super speed and strength and was red was his idea for a game. Right after he did that, he and his fellow developers got to work on creating Ronic the Porcupine.

Bill Gates sat in his chair thinking. In these times, there are a new thing. Video Games. Many company had began making Video Games. So what can his company make? He thought of a simple idea. Why, many people like to fly airplanes and become pilots. That is exactly what I would let them be! He picked up his phone and called Bruce Artwick. "Bruce, come to my office immediately. I have something to talk to you about."

Confederate Games, Raleigh, North carolina, January 2nd, 1989

Stephen Camp sat at the table with his friends as the founders of confederate games. Each of them were avid gamers and decided to make this company right out of college so that they could make the best games out there. Each man and woman were thinking of possible game ideas. Stephen sudden;y had a thought for a game. "okay" said stephen as everyone turned to him "i have a idea that is similar to pac man called Chase (changing up the name). The object would simply be to tag your fellow players or machine controlled opponents". Everyone else mumbled there agreemnt that it was a good idea and they all left the room to begin drafts for level designs.

Aedan stood around at his crew of five, only a mere five, though the odds and numbers were against him and his up-and-coming gaming corporation, so many other were against him and were better equipped. Yet deep down he knew that this would become a large and successful gaming studio. First, they would have to make a game, before they could do that, they needed ideas. Which exactly was the topic of the meeting right now.

"What if, we have this guy, who's an electrician, gets sucked through a T.V. and into a magical kingdom?" Inquired one of the employees, Thomas, was his name. Of course, he wasn't too bright on the topic of video games, but he was a math wiz and mostly handled accounting. Needless to say, his "idea" warranted sour and confused looks from the crew, so Thomas just sat back down in his big leather chair.

"I got it!" Exclaimed another in a thick English accent, "What if, we have this guy who saves this princess?" Everyone booed at the idea, literally.

"Too generic, lad. I'm sure that's been done by countless people, anyone else? C'mon! Don't be shy, no idea is a bad one, unless Tom came up with it" Aedan said, who looked like your stereotypical irishman, red hair, blue eyes, even a long beard. This joke got a few laughs, and an angry look from Tom.

"Hows about, we, make a game, about nothing." Said the fourth guy, who's name was Ryan. This idea got a few questionable glances, but he continued anyway. "We still have a story, but literally nothing is off limits to the player, he can go anywhere and do anything, but his choices have consequences. For example, he cuts down a tree, but that particular tree had some sort of significance to another later down the line. It needs to have a fantasy setting, 'cause fantasy is cool, that's why." Everyone continued to look at him.

"Ambitious. I like it. Interesting concept, we need a story board. In the mean time, get programming, I'm putting Ryan in charge of this one, since it was his idea. What are you still doing here, lads?! Get to work!" The men ran out of the board room of their small office space and began to get to work. The development time would take a while, do to the fact that they were a small team and they would be low on cash afterward.

Bruce walked into the room, sat down and said "What is the problem, Bill?" Bill Gates looked at him. "I want you to make a game that is a flight simulator."
Bruce looked at him. "I will get the boys and we will start working on the game. What shall the name be?" Bill laughed, "Well, it will be Microsoft Fight Simulator."

St. Louis Missouri, Archer Studios, Jan 2nd 1989
Jason and his fellow founders and friends stood or slouched around a table, a table covered in papers and suggestions, Jason turned to his fellow workers and said, "Okay guys, we got several ideas here, Let's see, A war game against the Soviet Union, a screen runner game of a bird going through some pipes, and...Oh! I say this one, a space game where you shoot incoming aliens, with bosses and levels and power ups. Listen how about we archive the other ones and start up in this one. All in favor?" The room of 4 other workers raised there hands when one piped up, "We should name it Galaxy Guardians!" Jason nodded and replied "Alright Galaxy Guardian it is then , I, Ralph, and Jamie will work up the programming and difficulty on it, You and David should start on the design of the lasers, powerups, and ships... Let's go guys." And the five workers of Archer Studios turned for their computers where they got to work, sipping coffee, typing,, and relieving headaches.

Alexander looked at his small team of five. They were independent, which means they won't get that much publicity. "Alright Guys, if we're gonna succeed we're gonna need games which we don't have any... Yet. Now, we're gonna start making a game but first, we're gonna need an idea for a game, any suggestions?" Asked Alexander to his small crew. "How about, an armadillo who goes through levels and has to beat a boss named Dr. SauSage?" Said Brandon, who was part of the development team. "Boo. Come on Brandon, think of something original" yelled Rick, who was par of the programming. "Oh yeah, well then think of something genius" retorted Brando, who gave Rick a stare. "How about, 2 dudes whose heavily armed fights a wave of aliens. There'll be multiple bosses and you can change your weapons... Oh! And also, as the final boss fight, you'll fight the mothership!" Exclaimed Rick, who was beaming. "Hm.. I like that idea, but I don't like the Aliens part. How about we make a game about a soldier who sent to multiple fronts in world war 2? And in the end of each front, you will get a final cutscene in which you will see how that front ends." Said Alexander, who was drinking a glass of orange juice. Everyone nodded. "Alright, so it's settled, we'll do that. But was should we name it?" Asked Alexander. "Oh! Maybe, 'Dawn of Calling: World at war" suggested Edward, who was part of the script team. Everyone agreed. "Alright, so it's settled. Now, let's get to work!" Said Alexander. Who proceeded to help Rick because he was part of the programming team.

Johannes Paschen and his friends, the co-founder, sat around at a small table in Paschen's parents' garage. There were only five people, but they were all very determined and smart people. As they sat around the table, Paschen thought of an idea that he was pretty sure nobody had thought of before. What about a city building game? His dad was a City Planner, and he remembered when he was younger that he liked to go with his dad to work and though it was fun making fake plans and the like. He proposed the idea to his friends. He asked them what they thought, and they said they sought it was a great idea. They decided to make it their first game. First, of course, they had to think of a name. "What should we call the game?", he said to his friends is in German.

"I know!", one of them said. "Let's call it Metropolis!"
"A little too dull, don't you think?", said another developer. The developer who proposed the name reluctantly agreed."
"I have a better idea!", another said. "Let's call it Micropolis!"
"Sounds to small though?", said the one who first proposed the name Metropolis.
"No! I have the best idea!", said another one. "Let's call the game YouCity!"
"Great!", the rest all said in unison.
"I think we have a winner!", Paschen said happily.

Now, however, they had to think of a more serious matter: getting the game out to the public. Of course, the PC would be easy but less profitable since he would have to give 20% of the profits to Microsoft, although Paschen would still do it, but what would be harder would be would be the Govodore G64. So Paschen decided to send a letter to Govodore International:

Dear Govodore International,
I am Johannes Paschen, co-founder and co-owner of Dragon Games. We here at Dragon Games would like to purchase a license to make games for the Govodore G64. We are already developing games and would very much like to release them for the Govodore G64. Attached is a check for 50 USD in exchange for letting us make games for the Govodore G64. Thank you.
Thanks,
Johannes Paschen,

Bill gates was in his business suit. He walked up to the podium.
"Welcome, everybody. How is everyone doing?" The reporters replied "Good" or "We are doing fine." Bill smiled. He spoke again. "Welcome everybody to the first game release of Microsoft Studio. The game is called Microsoft Flight Simulator. As the name suggest, this game is a flight simulator. We will be updating the game for free every single year. All you need to do is buy it once. We thank you for coming to the release and hope that you will buy this fabulous game we at Microsoft Studio worked so hard on."

Dragon Games, Düsseldorf, Germany, March 16th, 1989

Johannes Paschen and his friends were excited. Very excited. After about two months of developing their first game, called YouCity, they had finally finished doing it for the Govodore G64 and were excited to ask permission to Microsoft to do it for the PC. They were so excited. Paschen put on his best suit and announced to the world in a public park in Düsseldorf that Dragon Games advertised that YouCity was available for the Govodore G64. The game was a realistic and good city building game, probably the first one; a more accurate description would be this. Dragon Games was very excited, and after a brief introduction, Dragon Games decided to start focusing on getting permission from Microsoft to release it for the PC:

Dear Microsoft,
I am Johannes Paschen, co-founder and co-owner of Dragon Games. We here at Dragon Games would like to purchase a license to make games for the PC. We have already released a game for the Govodore G64 and would like permission from you, Microsoft, to release it and have a permission to release future hames. Alexander heard about the success of the independent company, dragon games. They were only making finishing touches to their game. They renamed the game 'Dawning of Calls: World Fronts". They worked hardly on it, spending 16 hours with little to no rest. They were proud, very proud of their game. They all went to Central Park in their best suits, and announced that their first ever game will be released for the PC. They spent 6,000 on the development and 2,000 on advertising.

It looks kinda like this.

February 24th, 1989, St. Louis
On the 24th, was a day of pride for Archer Studios, Their game had been released on two platforms, Galaxy GuardiansThe story of a young fighter pilot who has to fight his way from a space dictatorship, and then fight to destroy it, With lot's of challenging levels and and great artistry for the game, This was their summary of the game as it was released, along with the loads of posters they have begun making to advertise the game, paying some cheaper money for these posters to be a gaming stores with a picture of the game etc.

But now they were at the drawing board again, where they had come with the base of a new war and strategy game, Calling it Utter War, Middle Ages, Making it a City Building, War, Strategy, and Diplomacy Game, On release day a new game was being made that would be better than the first. As the employees waited for sales and their salary

Bill Gates was discussing with his staff for ideas on a new game. After a lot of discussion, they had agreed that the game they will make is a futuristic first player shooter game with multiplayer. The scripting team are writing the story out and the programmers got their computers ready to make the game.
