The news of the Chinese victory had spread like wildfire across the world. The Swiss was in no way ignoring that the horde is actually stoppable. When they finally put some thought in to it, they realized their mistake in closing everything down. They immediately ordered all of the soldiers that were tasked to destroy routes outside the country to not destroy them. Thankfully, they stopped them just in time. With the infrastructure still functional, the exportation of the German guns to Italy, France, and many more continued.

Whilst the Swiss government tried to supply it's neighbors with the means to fight the now not so inevitable doom, they also tried to contact the Chinese Government.

To: the Chinese Government
We the proud people of the Swiss confederacy have stood neutral since five hundred years ago because of the treaty we had with the then French Monarchy. Now, with the threat of obliteration as a species, we ask you if you will allow the proud men of Switzerland to help in your efforts against the walking dead. Our air force canno deliver 100,000 men to China in one fell swoop so if you accept we ask you to spare some elements of your air force to help transport to your country.

Signed, Swiss minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Front Lines

Due to the ongoing struggle in Chengdu, the military seems to be torn on whether or not to continue with the original plans of advancing or to be on stand-by. Qinghai has seemingly fallen and now, what was supposed to be an offensive has devolved into a defensive campaign once again, losing ground as the time goes by.

News of the victory in Chengdu has spread throughout the entire nation. Well, not really a victory, but more like another stalemate. But still, it is something worth celebrating, considering that people are now beginning to realize that maybe the world isn't going to end after all, stopping the undead in their tracks isn't impossible as it's believed to be, and though a very tidious process requiring essentially everything China has, winning the war is doable. Very difficult but not impossible. There seems to be a slight boost in morale because of this.

But then that boost is brought back down when news has spread of a sudden outbreak in southern Yunnan province. Reports come in of Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam experiencing an invasion of the monsters, Laos being the worst affected by it.

Words can't express how sorrow many citizens seem to be of how they couldn't help their SouthEast Asian partners, but it is far too late for apologies. They will be too far gone when the national military is able help them. Witness testimonies and village reports say of refugees coming in from Vietnam and Myanmar. There is no official statement from the government, but many have come to take these refugees in and embrace them. Others have come to demoralize and outcast them as human beings. It truly depends on a case by case basis due to the citizens having to take things into their own hands all so suddenly.

One shouldn't be so quick to lose hope, considering that China does have allies willing to aid in the effort after all.

The Swiss Confederacy has proposed to send aid towards the overwhelmed Chinese military, expressing to do whatever it can to aid in the battle against the tyrannical destroyers. The government was all too gleeful to reply.

A letter Concerning The Highest Degree of Governance of the Swiss Confederacy,
Words cannot describe how grateful we are for your support. For months we have been combating the forces of the plague, and we could never seem to get the upper hand. If anything, we always seemed to be losing ground as our conflicts in the frontlines stayed at a constant stalemate. True, these ravenous barbarians did advance further into our territory, but with the recent conflict dubbed The Battle of Chengdu, we've been able to halt their advancement into an impasse. At the cost of several lives and countless destruction, we have been able to set things into a stalemate once again, possibly with us gaining the upper hand this time, well, at least for the time being. With your support added to our Western forces, we may be able to finally launch our campaign into a swift counteroffensive. With having to send less units on the defense, we will be able to keep more on the East, where looting and riots are widespread, so that they may be quelled. Some of our aircraft have been sent to be able to transport your forces to our nation. We apologize in advance for any burden placed or soldier of yours to die in the struggle against these inhuman creatures, and may the odds ever be in humanity's favor. Sincerely,
A representative of the Chinese Government,
On behalf of the President of the Democratic Republic of China

Riots and looting have continued in many major cities to the East, but have seemed to show signs of calming as media reports come in that by apparently turning on each other, the protesters seem to forget of their anger against the government and remembered the differences that kept them divided shortly before the beginning of the apocalypse. There have been unconfirmed sightings of an unknown terrorist group possibly having contributed to this via attacks on specific targets, individuals, or acts that would be considered odd for such a group. Also, there have been talks of the Triads using violence to forcibly clear out areas with large amount of unrest. Though they refuse to comment, many corporate giants have been accused of hiring mercenaries and assassins to add to their growing armies with unknown intentions as of yet. Municipal police forces have been accused of suddenly losing their motivation to quell the unrest brewing throughout the region. The National Police has been criticized for its inefficiency, despite having its hands full with smaller villages and towns rather than concerning itself with larger cities and metropolises, and military support is limited due to having their main concern only with the frontlines and cities and regions in danger of falling to the Spores.

Times are bleak for China, and even more dark than so. Still, there is hope, that one day, maybe sooner than anticipated, the world will be rid of these heathens, and it can all return to whatever had been haunting it before it all happened. Maybe a better world can even emerge out of the blood and toxin of the conflict. No one knows for certain, and no one seems to believe in something so idealistic yet amazing. Their only concern right now is survival. Living to see the light of day once more, and being thankful in not having to die at the hands of something that was once human, or be mugged by something that never was. That hope grows just a little bit more.

Hyderabad, Pakistan
The people rioted and panicked in the streets. Cars were overturned and posters reading "repent!" were held up by faithful civilians as they cried out amidst the panic. The police were unable to contain the roit, and utter anarchy reigned throughout Pakistan's capital. The military was called in to help.

As buildings burned, people shouted and things were looted a lone body was seen floating through the river. At first nobody even bothered to notice it and assumed it to be a casualty of the riots, but then a woman noticed a stalk protruding from its head. "Stay there, my children", she said ," I must see what has happened to this person." She walked over to the river and pulled him out of the water.

The man coughed out some water and began groaning. His whole body was covered in horny fungal growths. He looked terrible. "You poor thing", she said sympathetically. Then, suddenly, the infected person reached out and bit here. She screamed and jumped back as it ran down the street and started chasing people. Tanks fired on the crowd, but in the end they had no clue of what was happening. Hyderabad would soon be infested...

Haixi, Quinghai
The zombies charged into the streets of Haixi. Only a small town with no current defences, the people of Haixi began to run and panic as the hordes picked them off one by one. Whole groups of survivors were decimated by roving bands of the infected, and soon the air was thick with spores. Police, the only ones in the town with gas masks, managed to struggle on for a few days before being overrun by the infected.

Kabul, UN-administered Afghanistan
Several UN ambassadors held a conference inside the Afghan parliament. "The Chinese have shown that we can defeat the zombies", one of them said ," and if that is so, we're gonna need to defeat them like they did. I say we set up sanctuaries for humanity across the globe and fortify them. After that, we use tactics like carpet bombing and napoleonic circles doubled with robotic soldier prototypes and extensive quarantining to regain ground. Sure, not everyone will be able to get into the sanctuaries, but you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet. I'm sure we'll save humanity in the end." The other members of the conference agreed, and they continued planning and talks.

After a while, they heard a strange panic outside, people were rioting and looting in the street. It soon became apparent that they weren't truly rioting- instead they were panicking. The ambassadors ducked under their desks as a horde of zombies sprinted down the street. Machine gun fire shattered the parliament's windows as the shrieks of the undead filled the air. One of them jumped in the parliament to chase down a soldier, but it accidentally fell to the floor.

There is sat, at eye contact level with the politicians. It ran towards them, forcing them to run for their lives as more zombies were attracted by their screaming. Soon the undead were swarming all over them, and the city had been sacked by the infected.

Burma
A man layed in his bed. His head was spinning, he felt extremely angry, and his whole body was throbbing after a creature in the woods had bit him. Luckily for him though, his loving family was taking care of him. That was the way it was in this small farming village. People cared for eachother. The man, however, felt entirely different from caring. Strange new emotions were swirling through his head and things like happiness were disappearing. Whatever he had was eating away at his humanity. A rash covered much of his body but it didn't itch- it hurt. It was all greyish brown and bumpy on his skin.

He suddenly developed a strange urge to bite people, so he quietly stepped out of bed. He felt drowsy and unconscious, as if what he was doing was instinctive. He ran into his childrens' room, and he sunk his teeth into one of their necks. They screamed and ran away. It felt so good, but he still felt strange and unconscious. Soon a stalk would sprout from his head and his humanity would be gone entirely...

Kunming, Yunnan
The people of Yunnan rode their bikes to work as usual. There had been reports of isolated outbreaks to the south in Laos, but apart from that there was nothing to panic about. The victory in Chengdu had given them hope that the zombie infection could be defeated, so they went about their daily lives with faith in humanity and a spring in their steps

Then, suddenly, a small group of zombies burst out of the forests. They ran into the streets, knocking a man off of his bicycle before biting him repeatedly. The zombies went out looking for more prey after that, and they had a whole city to get through. Soon more zombies, attracted by the noise, came running in. Inspired civilians open fired on the hordes and strapped on their gas masks. People fled the city only to be chased down by the hordes as the civillian militas began to barricade the streets.

By nightfall, the militas gathered their families and fled the city. Some died, but with guns in their hands and quick wits most survived. The city may have been destroyed, but people had survived. THEY HAD SURVIVED GODDAMMIT!!! THEY COULD SURVIVE!!!

Cambodia
The zombie hordes sprinted into the village. Silent in the darkness, they tore down the doors of the locals' homes and ran inside. Screams filled the humid night air as the zombies bit into the uninfected. Nobody was sparred on that night, and everyone in the village shared the fate that many villages around them were having.

Jaipur, India
Many people boarded up their homes and stayed inside, while armed men with bravado and a disregard to morals looted, raped and burned anything in sight. After the demise of India's government to the cordyceps fungus, a state of anarchy reigned over the nation. No organisation or country- not even the UN- had sent in troops to help them. Why was this so? Because the zombies would soon overrun the helpless, lawless land that was now India.

A tank roared down the street and crashed into a bank. The soldiers in it, who had escaped the horde, jumped out with their guns and began looting the bank. One of them began laughing wildly as he shot randomly at the buildings and the rest of them just pillaged. A strange groaning soon came from behind the bank, but it wasn't a person who had been shot.

A horde of zombies shot out from behind the ruined bank and began attacking the soldiers. The soldiers were severely outnumbered, and before long the zombies were tearing down doors, breaking windows and infecting more people. Fires broke out in the streets as people were forced outside. And when they were outside, rogue soldiers, muggers and zombies were out to get them. In the end, the latter would win and infect the city...

OOC: That's me when I don't have sudden writer's block/burnout. ;)

Anyways,

IC:

The Front Lines

News has spread all over China that most of Qinghai has fallen. That's it, a province of about 5.5 million having been sacked by the unholy ones. The major cities of the province were swiftly and strategically evacuated. The same couldn't be said for the villages and small towns, which compose a little more than a third of the province's population. Nothing could ever bring them back, but their sacrifices will not be in vain.

Rescue efforts have been made to save the few that were still trapped, but with little luck. The few they could find that were still human would no longer be human. They had to be put down or left for dead.

Something snapped in the minds of nearly every person in High Command in those few days. They still had hope of winning the war, but what died in them was the faith they had in winning with as little casualties as possible. They came to realize that when they do in fact repel the insatiable horde, there will already have been too much bloodloss to even tell the difference between what is a victory and what is defeat. They have known from the very beginning that many would die, but had never prepared themselves for what was to come. From then on, the military looked at the war differently. They no longer saw it as containment, seeing as containing the plague is one step from impossible, but as a matter between nature and humanity, and a struggle to see which will triumph in ruling the new world.

Chengdu

The final preparations have been made, and the military in Sichuan province is on maximum readiness. Military forces in Chengdu are ready to initiate the counteroffensive, to finally end the vicious stalemate that claimed the lives of many innocents.

All forces stationed in the Eastern portion of the city will advance forward while units from the North and South will arrive to support from the flanks. There will be a sort of semi-circle surrounding the East to ensure protection and eliminate any of the horde that wanders off. If everything goes correctly, the Battle of Chengdu may finally mark the beginning of humanity's counteroffensive into Spore territory.

Several units in neighboring provinces have proclaimed their dedication to the New Campaign, and have also made preparations to advance.

Yunnan Province

It was a difficult mess to deal with, but for the most part, there wasn't that much loss of life. Luckily they were prepared for the unthinkable yet inevitable ordeal. Some had perished, but most of the city's population was able to evacuate safely.

It was a bit of a blow to their hope, considering that most of Yunnan province was now under the plague's icy grasp, losing Yunnan and a few villages in the process. But they did have some faith, considering that, because they were prepared, were able to safely flee from the horde and easily outrun them. A city of about 6.5 million, armed and ready mostly, gets attacked by zombies, able to kill off some of them, evacuated overnight, with very little casualties. That is something very noteworthy, if not a bit celebratory.

Because they've lost the city they so dearly loved, the refugees are now in need of new homes. And so begins the process of relocation. Military and police forces that were already in Yunnan that did not get infected have begun escorting the survivors into several camps and cities located in the East, picking up several hitchhikers along the way.

When the transports came to the many airfields of Switzerland, the soldiers felt the same way as the many volunteers for the German empire did more than a decade ago. They were filled with pride to serve their fellow men in their troubles, they were glad that they will finally use their army training. They entered their transports whilst humming many different songs. Some patriotic, some their national anthem while others just plainly hummed their favourite songs.

The men left in Switzerland, however, they started making more and more guns and ammunition for the grueling war against the Undead Horde. They knew that their neighbors aren't stupid enough to break the treaty of Neutrality of Switzerland so they focused their manpower to bring in more money o they can easily buy the loyalties of others.

Off the Coast of Safi, Morocco
The Moroccan Navy gathered here preparing for a possible invasion of the Canaries. Their purpose was to establish a zone to set up an Enclave government if their attempts to secure the border failed. The people of Fez, Rabat, Tangiers, Casablanca, Safi, Marrakech, Taroudant, Agadir and Meknes would be evacuated upon breach and the invasion of the Canaries would begin. King Ismail and the Prime Minister would relocate their aswell and much of the military and air force would rebase their aswell. But for now they were paid a minimal cost to prepare because it was the last thing they would do. For now the naval forces simply sat there and still, most patrolled watching out for any ships inside Moroccan Maritime borders.

A Message to China
Image
To: The Chinese Government, Military, and Leadership,
Morocco has long enjoyed relations with your nation, in the past having little problems with your nation and prospering from our longstanding trade agreement and our allowance of your merchants to fish off the Moroccan Coast. However, we must apologize and formally make you and your people aware that you are no longer welcome to fish nor trade within our borders until the virus has been terminated. In addition, we would love to get a report to better understand the symptoms, effects, and current standing of the disease, along with proper tactics to stop it so that we will be able to protect ourselves if the disease should reach our borders. In return we offer to drop 250,000 57mm Rockets off at your airbases. We no longer use these rockets as we have switched to the 90mm type and recognize that your Xian JH series bombers use them often. Consider it a gift in exchange for information we ourselves will need to fight off these strange infectious things. The amount of ammunition we offer is enough to terminate a population of 1.5 million people or in this case infected. Thank you for understanding the implications that lead us to make the hard choices we have,
Signed,

King Ismail II de Maroc

Maroc-Algiers Wall half done
The walls were nearing completion at their later mid stage of construction. It would only be three to four days to completion and then they could begin further armouring and upgrading them, but with it would come a 15% tax break after they had raised the taxes to 60%. With this lower amount of money came risks, but they needed their economy to hold on as the transition to self sufficiency showed its colors. However, the socializing of most farms allowed the government to push the limits of new agricultural techniques so that they could reclaim some of the now arid lands. The Garrison in the parts that they had started building on first were already usable as improvised fortresses, however they would not be able to hold back the zombies unless the wall was fully completed and at least some upgrades, such as turrets and helipads were fully constructed. In the mean time anti-air stinger sights were set to knock anything in Moroccan airspace out of the sky and armoured cars patrolled the borders watching out for any illegal immigrants, incoming enemies or worse, those things.

Major cities across Morocco see their own Walls near completion
The Capital wall in Rabat was already done, and the forces there began mounting machine-guns and preparing artillery. Tangiers was the second to be completed and was almost ready for upgrading. Fez needed to be finished in its southern regions but was more or less prepared to be upgraded and Casablanca (including Mohemedia), Meknes, Marrakech, and all others were still under construction but within eight days they too would be completed. Once done they will receive mounted guns, the mines will be activated and curfews will be extended. For now however they hung in. While in slightly smaller cities such as Oujda and Tetouan were too seeing slightly smaller but almost as effective walls being finished and lighter upgrades being brought in.

Royal Lion rediscovered
While on patrol in the Atlas Mountains the once considered likely extinct Barbary lion was discovered. To the government it was perfect propaganda. God had brought the lion to restore the hopes of the Moroccan people and the pride of seven lions were transferred to the Le Jardin Zoologique National which now received a 120 man garrison. These lions represented Morocco and were in their very coat of arms. Focusing the media on this helped calm the people and expand on their patriotism at the same time. The government even went as far as to begin the 'Royal Lion's Legion' Which would be a militia of patriotic Moroccan volunteers that would be trained to aid forces in the case of invasion by acting along the police and making it easier for the gendarmerie to deport anyone who snuck in or was a threat to Morocco in this time of trifle. For tourists, they were given the choice to stay or go depending on where they were from, especially those that would be taken to asia on the stalled airliners. However, those choosing to leave were barred from returning and the air force would act if they tried to return.

The Counteroffensive (Chengdu)

A lone soldier stands atop one of the large barricades, looking more like artificial walls than a strategic barrier. The constant moans and groaning of the undead can be heard from very far away, especially considering that a large bulk of them are directly below him, just waiting for the walls to come down so that they may finally enjoy the tasty humans they've been craving for oh so long. He is taken aback by what is now a small group of them gathering around his presence, trying to reach for him, but failing everytime, as he is meters above them.

Knowing the presence of spores everywhere in the air, gas masks have become a new part of the body, seeing as there is not a moment that they are to be taken off, not without several minute's worth of "decontamination" and "reintegration". Specially made suits have been handed out to most. Well, not really suits, but small articles of clothing put on to protect from the possibility of being bitten. Gloves, Knee-guards, shoulder pads, and even athletic cups.

A mass radio signal was sent from the main base of operations in Chengdu to the outlying forces surrounding the city from the outskirts. They are set to begin the attack which has now been named Operation Tian Hai, as part of the larger Jiefang Campagin to drive away the mass of hordes from the face of the earth once and for all.

At midday, around noon, the counteroffensive was launched with the opening of the barriers. All of the civilians that have previously been residing in the city have long evacuated, leaving Chengdu in its entirity only to the military and the Spore carriers.

The forces from the North and South have been ordered to intercept when the time is right, while the Outskirts division will provide artillery support and anything else pertaining to the eradication of their foes from afar. There will come a time for when it is ideal to attack the horde from behind, as a few units in the outskirts have orders to take action when opportunity strikes them. There may be many casualties in this battle, but these soldiers will not be allowed to die in vain, never again will their heritage and ancestry be trampled upon. They will live in the halls of immortality for years to come.

This is it. The battle that will end the balance these two billigerents have had for a long while. The siege that will determine who will advance into who's territory. Man Vs Fungus in a war for Earth.

OOC: Sorry, this is all I could do, as I'm short on time. I'll get to Morroco's response and anything else tomorrow. Best of luck to everyone :)

Responses

The government came across two messages from two different nations concerning the impending end of the world, or not. At the request of the president, they were both responded to rather hastily

To the Official Governing Body of the Kingdom of Morocco
It is quite unfortunate, that, due to the disease that has been made world knowledge, we must take a step away from trading. However, due to the events leading up to this global pandemic, a state of high emergency now exists throughout most of China. To reduce the possibility of the spread of infection, but mostly because of rampant paranoia running throughout the country, the airline industry has taken a savage beating, meaning that our merchants and fishermen will have to be provided transportation back to their homeland. We apologize for this inconvenience, and if we could, we would publicly apologize to the world for introducing this new strain of death we call a Fungal Pandemic. To help you in getting a better understanding, as per your request, here are a list of the known symptoms of the strain.

In what is regarded as stage one of infection, particles of the infectious fungus, known as spores, will migrate to the major organs of the body, including the brain.

After this, what is unofficially regarded as stage 1.5 takes effect. Several hours after the migration has occured, the disease begins its relative takeover of the human mind and body. The infection becomes more noticeable due to a wide array of symptoms found in many common human diseases, such as a fever, headaches, muscle pains, and rashes. Agressiveness is also a side-effect in this stage, leading further into eventual schizophrenia and paranoia.

By the second stage, considered about a day after the infection began, the victim will report of heavy pains and intense burning sensations, causing extreme agitation. Insanity is also a common effect, with many of the infected inexplicably taking on the role of a murderous madman. The victim is not yet infectious, but is to be avoided at all cost due to their homicidal nature.

After a few days of the infection, the third stage is entered. The infected becomes easily noticeable via a fungal stalk protruding from the head, ocassionally acompanied by small horn-like obstructions. The rashes from earlier develop into patches of fungal growth, with the body eventually turning into a morass of fungal stalks and bumps. By this stage the victim will become infectious and more dangerous than ever before. The victim, by this stage, will have considerably lost all traces of their humanity and will stop at nothing to spread the infection to a new individual.

Done from a relentless amount of research over a long period of time, it is known of these monsters that they show no indication of any human emotion whatsoever, meaning fear and even pain are a definite no. For them to survive, only a very small amount of oxygen is required, compared to how much a human being consumes, and at the moment, there is no know way to be certain of their demise other than the destruction of the brain. However, even when one dies, the fungal stalks would continue to grow, and are extremely infectious. The infectious spores are not noticable in small concentrations in the air, but all that is required is to be breathed in or bitten by one of the infected to become laden with the disease, of which there is no known cure.

What we have discovered of the disease due to relentless research and the personal experience of many, we have found that these creatures are attracted to loud noise and frequent movement, meaning largely populated cities and urban centers would easily become overrun. They are relentless and do not ever get tired, or do not ever stop once something has garnered their attention. Though it does not kill them for certain, using incendiary methods such as flamethrowers have been shown to heavily damage the fungus on the infected's body, and kill any spore resonating from the body, though not all of the fungal growths are affected, and spores may still be able to escape into the air and the individual that is infected will still continue on. The only definite way of preventing infection through airborne spores is by wearing gas masks or protective masks at all times. At the moment, we are attempting to research more into what these things are, and find a cure, if possible. The rest, we do not know for certain.

We gladly thank you for your generous gift and hope to recieve them soon. These weapons will come to a definite good use in the battle against these inhuman creatures. At the moment, we have launched a massive counteroffensive, beginning with the city where our first victory took place, Chengdu, and are expecting these creatures to fall back very soon. We wish you luck in your impending battles, should they ever come, hopefully not, so that we may all live in peace.

Sincerely,
A Government Representative of the Democratic Republic of China, on the president's behalf.

And the next:

To the current governing body of the United States of America

We sincerely thank you for your aid, and hope that your support will indeed be of considerable use. We would ask you for more, but we understand that you have your own affairs in order. So we instead ask you to please be safe and do everything you can to prepare yourselves for the upcoming infection, should it ever come, which hopefully it will not. Take care, and good luck.

Sincerely,
A government Representative of the Democratic Republic of China, on the president's behalf

The letters were to be sent immediately, while the rest of China continued with their now everyday affairs of panic and wondering what will happen next. No one truly knew what would, as they had now left their destinies in the hands of fate, no one is certain what will be in store for humanity as the conflict progresses.

Then again, maybe the infection is really is a sign of something. Neo-religious Movements have sparked all throughout China that maybe this new pandemic isn't the end of the world after all, it could actually be quite the opposite. It could be an opportunity for enlightenment, for a new, better world to emerge out of the ashes of the old one, and that those who perish in the fight against the two worlds, human or fungi, are the balance of what will truly be the outcome. After all, what is life on this planet but a dance between opposing things and concepts, an exploration of the human mind that we as humans have yet to comprehend, a chance to learn more of ourselves within the universe, when we ourselves do not know anything of what we are. That is all that it is, a psychological dance on the cosmic wheel of time. An encore, please? @}------- Thank you...

US Fifth Fleet

The Fifth Fleet, off the coast of Bangladesh, started to fire on the coast. With Bangladesh being the 91st biggest country but 8th most populous, or atleast it was in humans, they had plenty to fire on. Using AWACS aerial survaillance, the ships started to level all hordes they could see, and being that the hordes followed sound, they started to come towards the ship. The ships started to pick them off as the zombies, confused what water was, stood at the shore. The ships continually fired, and helicopters took off and started to simply murder any of the zombies figuring out how to swim. Eventually, the scientists onboard the ship noticed that the zombies walking on even the highest ocean floor broke from water pressure, the fungal growth exploding under the pressure. Scientists, reassured, reported to the President with excellent news-unless it was brought by a god swimmer or immortal being, the virus wouldnt get into America. Massive, 10 foot electric fences were starting to be erected on the Mexican and Canadian borders. Conscripting workers for jobs, the fences were estimated to be half finished in 6 months.

Bangalore, India
The zombies shambled into the city as people screamed and panicked. Many had not heard of the fall of New Dheli until recently, and when they did chaos broke out. Now spores were bursting into the air as civilian militas were utterly crushed by the zombies. One of the last cities in India was now burning as the undead advanced and claimed thousands of lives.

Kyrgyzstan
The man herded his goats through the harsh scrubland. His face, wrinkled and tanned by the sun after years of hard work, wore a happy expression as the man spotted a town in the distance. Regardless of how hard his work was, the man was satisfied with his life and he wouldn't have had it any other way.

As he neared the town, however, he noticed something was wrong. There were no people there- just shambling monsters with awful stalks protruding from their heads. The goat herder ties his goats to a tree and walked in to investigate. He ducked behind a bin to hear the sickening crunch of rotting flesh below him, one of the monsters reached up, pulled him to the ground and began biting him...

Narynkol, Eurasian Union
The sun had set over Kazakhstan, and the people of Narynkol retreated to their homes to sleep. Only a small town on the border with China, manhy were scared of a zombie attack coming and everybody wore a gas mask. A small army of soldiers had been sent in to protect the town, but at a time this late they began to retreat back into their beds too. All was blissful, despite the seemingly impending zombie threat.

As everyone slept, a horde of the undead from a nearby town crept in. Few were awoken by the hushed moaning, but those that were were quickly bitten. The zombies rushed into every building and attacked the people inside, and the military officers were largely killed in their sleep. The whole town had been infected, just because some soldiers didn't take turns at patrolling stuff.
Hanoi, Vietnam
The remnants of the Vietnamese military patrolled the town from all sides. Roads and railways leading to the town were dismantled and their rubble used to build barricades. The people of the city were armed with gas masks to save themselves from the zombies as they rode their bikes to work. In the Vietnamese parliament, the politicians and leaders were defended well. A helicopter was ready to take off with them if needed.

Then, suddenly, a massive horde of zombies came running towards the city. Bullets rained down on them, but the creatures felt no pain or fear. They just ran through the shower of artillery fire and climbed over the walls. Swarming all over eachother like ants, the infected swarmed through the streets and overwhelmed the military. A helicopter full of leaders took off amidst the chaos, and people piled onto boats as they were detached from docks and floated onto the red river. Spores burst out into the air. Hanoi fell to the fungus.

Hainan, China
The sun was rising in Hainan, and Xiang and his family walked out onto the rice fields that surrounded their village and began picking the rice. It was a hard life, with a harsh sun, hard work and extreme humidity, but everyone here was used to it. They slaved away on the fields all day every day to feed themselves, and given the heat waves they had recently had the work was becoming even less pleasant. The villagers, however, could not move somewhere else. This was their home.

As Xiang picked rice in the fields, he noticed a strange creature coming in from the woods nearby. It was hideous, with the body of a man but with stalks coming out of it. Ten or so of them came running out towards the village, and with a gasp Xiang finally realised what is was. "Run!", he yelled as the zombies began chasing people ,"They're after us!"

Bayan Nur, Inner Mongolia
It was a hot, dry day in northern China and a tumbleweed rolled by the bustling market. This was the largest town for many kilometers, and its people had only recently heard of the zombie outbreak. Many, however, did not panic, believing their remote location would save them. The military was not here to save them, but they were content with the way they were and thought they were safe. They were wrong.

Spores burst into the air as a lone zombie ran through the market. It sunk its teeth into a person, tackling them to the ground as everyone ran and panicked. Many were breathing in spores- meaning that they would be infected without getting bitten. Fruit was hurled at the creature, but that just aggravated it. It made a terrifying shreik as it charged towards the shopkeeper...

Kazakhstan
The Sovereign Union soldiers were all armed with assault rifles and were eager to fight, they all wore gas masks and had suicide pills to consume if bitten. They prepared for the Zombies to attack and have assembled in Napoleonic Formations to ensure maximum damage to the zombies. They all have been trained to aim for the head for months.Although this led to many riots having relatively high death tolls, this was effective against the undead.

When the Swiss expeditionary force, SWF for short, had neared the outskirts of Haikou they started to put on their gas masks and readied for the worst. As the aircrafts had touched down, they were surprised to see that the populace was not alarmed at all. They didn't even mind the aircraft leaving their city going to Beijing, it seemed like that the zombies had not approached them yet.

With their entrenching tools, the Swiss started to gather sand, dirt, rocks, gravel, etc to put on sandbags to make their makeshift wall larger. This continued on towards the next day until one shambling civilian came closer to them. "Sir, we advise you to go back!" shouted a Chinese man on megaphone. This just alerted more of them, fearing that he may be one of the infected the Swiss shot him. A shot through the chest, but it didn't how any signs of stopping. Finally, they decided to shoot all six of those approaching through the head. Six shots later, the six men fell and they thought the zombies would bother them no more.

Image

When the HQ was finished, they manned their positions on their 'fort' they had three tiers of defence each with three lines of men to shoot the zombies that will come. Unfortunately, the gunshots earlier and the commotion of Haikou may have had alerted the horde...

The small nation of Malta, lying in the crossway between Europe and Africa in the Mediterranean Sea, had little to fear in these dark times for humanity.

Valetta, Malta, 29th of January 2034
Konstantin Ravarra, the President of Malta, sat in his chair at the Governmental Building, looking tired after just waking up. A representative stodd in front of him.
''Sir Ravarra, we have important reports from Tibet.''
''What?'' Ravarra said, confused. ''What is it?''
''There seems to be an extremely dangerus disease spreading all over the place'' the representative whispered silently. He gave him a large bunch of paper.
The President read the paper carefully. After 20 minutes, he took of his glasses again and stood up in front of the people in the room.
''This isn't good. According to these papers, a deadly virus has begun in Tibet. Come with me.''
After an intensive meeting with the Parliament, and talks with his advisors, Konstanin Ravarra ordered the issue of a Public Announcement on the matter.
REPUBLIKKA TA' MALTA
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The Maltalese people, I, President Konstantin Ravarra, must notify you of a matter which is of outmost importance for not just us, but for the whole world.
In Tibet, An Autonomous Region of The People's Republic of China, Reports of a fatal disease have appeared. My advisors and I will now tell you what we all need to do. First, what is the disease? We know little. But we have footages, which we will now show. It is not recommended to show these images to children and those who may experience traumas afterwards.
*IMAGES SHOWN ON SCREEN*
Now, I ask you to listen to me for just a few more minutes.
First, The Coastal Guard shall be at high alert. They will be patrolling several kilometers outside the coast in Maltelese waters. We need more men for the job, so for the security of Malta, we encougare you to apply.
Secondly, if the disease ever gets close to Malta, gas masks and emergency components will be given to the entire population.
And, thirdly, DO NOT PANIC. This will only disadvantage Malta.
Regards, President Konstantin Ravarra of the Republic of Malta.

After the message was aired, police were deployed into the streets, showing that if anyone tried anything funny, they would pay.

6 months later
The zombies had now slaugheted millions of people in Asia. Many people were outraged, hapless but also thankfull for their security, which sadly many others didn't have. Around 30,000 refugees, which had been heavily checked for their health status, had already arrived at Malta. Apart from that, nobody could get in or out. Heavens know what will happen next...

North Korea
What was left of the nation of North Korea was struggling to leave it's past. UN lead "De-Juchezation" programs had inflamed much of the population in the country, and the government could do little to stop the protests. The government itself was little more than a bunch of corrupt men that only truly represented the company that had paid them off. The republican experiment had failed in North Korea, when the Kim dynasty fell, it took the only thing that North Korea did have in spades, stability.

And now, the dead were rising in North Korea's benefactor, China, and threatening to overrun the world's biggest nation. And if China fell, North Korea would be next. Something had to be done, the people knew. From the smallest tot to the biggest solider, something had to be done. But the corrupt government would do nothing, banking on the fact that the Chinese would win out. But with India overwhelmed, a human victory seemed as far away as ever. It was time to change for the better. It was time for a revolution.

The Korean Revolution began on a a Friday. The people were in their usual protest spots, when an unknown speaker whipped the crowd into a fury, talking of better times under true communism, protection from the undead hordes running rampant through the World, and freedom from the oppressive forces of dictatorship and capitalism. No one knows who fired the first shot, the Western mercs hired to protect the paid-off government, or someone in the crowd, but when the first shot rang out, the protest became a riot, and the crowd stormed the legislature halls, stampeding over the guards and sacking the legislature, killing most of the representatives in the process.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate idealistic egalitarian with many strong convictions.

(OOC: I never RPed the 6-month shift, I figured now would be an opportune time...)

The Front Lines

It's no use. No matter how much the military tries to end it all, they just cannot come to advance any further than the ground they stand on. The Counteroffensive as a whole seems to have degraded into yet another stalemate. Because they have failed to do so, the horde was easily able to slip through the military's defenses through the far Nothern and Southern reaches of China, rather than going head on into the center where the bulk of military forces were located. It was at this point that the military came to realize that winning this war may be something even they cannot do. But still, they haven't given up hope. They just need to desperately perfect their strategy to ensure that the stalemate stays at just that, and stop any and all advancements of the plague.

Efforts were made to relocate a portion of the military forces in the two ares of the outbreak to combat the plague there. Several paid-off corporations have promised to send private armies to all areas of the Front Lines, but still, nothing. The Swiss were originally supposed to be the ones joining in on the military, but alas, they never came. When it was discovered that their forces ended up entrenched on the island of Hainan helping the civilians there while also eliminating the infected presence, the government was left with mixed feelings. Additional military forces have been sent from the area to help, or possibly save them from the undead. Switzerland is one of the very few nations that has extended a hand to China so far. It would be tragic to have to lose an ally when they are needed most. To avoid any further loss of life, willpower, or anything at all, the military has begun a mass mobilization of all available forces throughout the entirity of China. It has been made fairly obvious that the military, going against the government's wishes, will now take control of certain areas in danger of succumbing to either the Spores or rioting. Additionally, all military forces will be stationed into strategically vital areas or areas vulnerable to infection rioting, or both, unless otherwise stated. This isn't really as dramatic as it sounds. It's essentially Martial Law with the added bonus of having the military run around, giving a completely new definition to the term multi-tasking. From here on out, the fate of the nation literally is resting on their shoulders.

Though not all of it seems as hopeless as it does. Over a period of a few months, the Counteroffensive that started in Chengdu has seemed to have worked. Operation Tian Hai was a success, with the military being able to drive out the mass of the infected. In the months that followed, the military then went on to gradually retake the surrounding areas that have been lost to the hands of the monsters. There were many lives lost in the process, but it seemed, at least for the moment, that the land was theirs again. Though they shouldn't be so quick to become so confident. They know what these creatures can do, they know, no, they expect them to launch a counter-counterattack any time now. And the entire thing will soon become another disappointing stalemate yet again, if not, then the sacrifices they made throughout months of labor will have been in vain if the creatures retake their conquered areas and make a springboard advancement from there. So for now, all the soldiers can do is try their best to hold the lines, advancing when the time is right, and hoping for the best.

Hong Kong & Macao

In Hong Kong, things have degraded into absolute chaos. Riots and disorder are everywhere, the city becoming more of a battleground. With all the violence and accusations being something just short of a civil war, the plan for citizens having to put the law into their own hands was a total failure. With the infection now having spread into nearby Hainan, and still gaining ground, the public came to realize that they weren't safe to begin with, and did the only thing they could, panicked. The rioting and looting had only lasted a few weeks when the public began to settle down. In that short amount of time, lost lives and ruined families were aplenty. The rioting ended only when whatever military or paramilitary forces, along with the police, were able to surpress most of the rioters that caused significant trouble. Many others followed suit after the use of force was permitted. Then for a brief time, the entire city underwent a form of Martial Law before reverting back to the way it was before either of the two instances.

This wasn't the first time the city underwent complete anarchy. This also wasn't the first time the city ended up being occupied by a foreign force. It certainly wouldn't be the last time the city would experience either of them. For now, the citizens lay in wait for what's about to happen. Many of which doubt they can defend themselves for what is to come, some of which choosing to accept their inevitable fate. Other are not too sure, but confident they will win nonetheless. The city is fragile, but there are emotions brewing and tensions still high as they wait for the horde to siege so they can finally fight them off with the weapons given to them.

Meanwhile, in Macao, things aren't really as bad as they seem. Sure, Macao is just slightly closer to the oncoming horde than their neighbor of Hong Kong, but Macao isn't as large as H.K. There were some riots and lootings, but not as long or chaotic as they were in the Fragrant Harbour. In addition, the police force, both local and national, hold a stronger influence on the city than the other administrative division. Plus, there has always resided a general sense of confidence within the citizens of the city that the military would be able to protect them. They don't seem to realize how much of the horde it really takes to devastate the city. Perhaps for their case, ignorance may truly be bliss for the time being.

Shanghai

For six months, Project Renlei had been underway. After the protests had finally calmed, the project was set to begin. The materials had been gathered, the precautions had been taken, the experiments had been set, and everything was in order. Everyone had high hopes that the project would finally showcase what these things are so scientists could learn how to be rid of them for good.

But by the end of the first half of the year, things were looking quite bleak. There were several close calls and near falls that, so many, that they stopped counting after the second half of month 2. There was, at one point, an instance of a near-outbreak or two. The first one was stopped almost immediately after it took effect, and the second was stopped right in the nick of time. A good number of good scientists gave their lives for the experiment. A few others couldn't handle it anymore and went insane or committed suicide. One scientist was directly responsible for the first near-outbreak due to her belief that "the Spores are our friends, look at what we're doing to them? Who's the monster now?!" The Alpha-Omega teams have definitely had more than their fair share of ups and downs with the project.

On the brighter side, many new facts were learned about the creatures. Unfortunately, they were so trivial that they provided nothing for the project other than more things to joke about during card games. There was a good number of observations recorded by one scientist in particular. Day and night, he studied them, recording everything, down to the smallest detail, in his journal. He observed so much that it essentially became his life. Then, one day, there was a fatal accident. The scientist died of his injuries days later, but an autopsy report found that he had been poisoned with a lethal substance. One of his colleagues, who had then went insane, confessed to the murder. He then went on to kill himself after killing another scientist. The poisoned scientist's records were preserved and protected very carefully. His journal was copied, word for word, in another. However, both were lost in a fire that devastated the labs and caused the second near-outbreak. Now, only a handful of the items that he recorded can be recalled, and the rest of the project's team has to start from near-scratch.

Nonetheless, they are quite optimistic to relearn what they had forgotten in those tragic events. Even if they must start over, they are hopeful for what they will find. They will go to the ends of the earth, anything at all to save humanity from an impending, almost-unstoppable force.

Beijing

Some fitting music, I guess...

In Beijing, protests have erupted over the demand for several things. Flags and banners waving yet again, the military and the police being too scared to use force or even directly confront the protestors, and the protestors occupying the surroundings of nearly every government building. They weren't like this several months ago, when the infection wasn't as bad, and when the military was more able to fight against the invading forces. Firstly, like always, was for the military to do something about the incoming horde. Having the horde easily slip by their defenses had triggered much outrage in the capital, and an unending sea of insults hurled at both the government and the military. A military spokesperson was supposed to comment on this issue, but after seeing his associates nearly beaten to a pulp after some protestors managed to slip past their bodyguards, he backed away all too quickly.

Secondly, there needed to be addressed the issue of housing for the refugees. For over six months, the horde had overtaken countless kilometers of land. Land that had previously belonged to people. Now that their homes were overrun, where else were they supposed to go? Camps had been set up in remote areas, but their condition was so poor, so laughable, that there really was no way to distinguish it from a desolate wasteland. In addition, there were millions of foreign refugees coming in from all directions, and the government was doing seemingly nothing for them, leaving them to fend off for themselves. It probably doesn't help that a recent study was leaked out that there were more homeless and impoverished in China than in any other point in history, as well as there being "Ghost" Camps, camps that exist under the guise of helping refugees, but are empty or almost empty and are only used to convince the public that the government is helping them after all. "Death" Camps, camps that are overrun with sadistic soldiers, corrupt supervisors, and serve more as a concentration camp than anything else, "Prison" Camps, which are pretty much the same but with the tenants turning out to be more violent and sadistic than the actual soldiers and supervisors, providing a prison-like atmosphere, "Pink" camps, where the camp is so dangerously impoverished and poorly supplied that it would easily be comparable to that of a tent city or actually being homeless, and there has been rumored of a "Shadow Complex", a camp that produces scientific observations and experiments on the refugees, both subtle and obvious, voluntary and forceful.

The protestors demanded better and more available housing for refugees and non-infected victims. A representative for a government welfare agency was going to talk about these issues, but she was met with a shower of spit from all sides as she was walking, simultaneously being slapped a few times. She too, retreated back to her car, having now been drenched by the oral DNA of countless of strangers and having her face molested by the hands of some.

Thirdly, there was the demand for a cure for the disease. The public could not yet know of Project Renlei, it was all the government had left to hope for. Even if it is fairly obvious, Alpha-Omega must not be made public knowledge. A member of a secretive intelligence agency was going to deny the existence of Project Renlei, and neither confirm nor deny the possibility of a cure. Unfortunately, on the way there, he, along with his team, mysteriously disappeared.

The Fourth demand was techinically two demands in one. Demand 4a adressed the international community. Many citizens saw this as a war that China could not fight alone. They felt that by turning to many other nations of the world, at least a few more than they have now would step in to come to China's aid. The more international support, the better.

Demand 4b was on North Korea. Having gone through hell and back, as well as being divided and partitioned, North Korea has undergone a revolution in hopes of restoring itself. Despite all that they've been through, it is apparent that many North Koreans still view China as a close ally and see their relationship as more of a brotherhood than anything else. Many citizens, in outreach of their Korean friends, are calling for the government to send support to North Korea, be it military, monetary, welfare, or all three, with the promise of gaining a new ally and helping a friend in need. Other citizens, resentful of the atrocities committed during the Kim dynasty, proceeded to verbally, then physically attack the pro-Korean activists, joined by the nationalists who felt that China handle on its own, and were against Demand 4a.

And lastly, Demand 5 was technically three demands in one. The first portion of the demand was on concerning the safety and well being of every citizen. A human being could only stay sane under so much trauma for so long. Once they reach their breaking point, that's it, they fully lose their mind. That is why many citizens are calling for the government to take more action into maintaining stability. A weak military is excusable, but a weak government is not. If the government is unable to keep the people happy, or at least not rioting and protesting like they are now, then what good is it? They demand that the government of China recognize the madness and death occuring in each and every city because of the fear that they have for the creatures, and do everything they can to calm them and tell them they have nothing to fear about so there would be no more anarchy in the midst of all this Spore tyranny.

The second part of the demand, 5b, was really interesting. Over the months that have passed, more and more people have come to join a movement that has caused quite a stir. That, of course, was an understatement. At the center of the movement is a group so controversial in its philosophy that, though not yet recognized by the government, many citizens have labeled it as an outright terrorist group, if not, then the mother of all cults. Over the months, there have been more and more citizens, hopeless that they will win the war, come to believe that perhaps the disease is not as bad as everyone portrays it to be, or that having the world end isn't as bad as they thought it would. There are various philosophies so differentiating, that there perhaps may not be a central ideology, and that the members are left with their own way of interpreting the event. Some believe that the disease is a higher being's punishment on humanity for it's wicked ways. Other believe that the disease IS a higher being, coming to existence so it could enlighten all those who come into its reach. The main idea of the group seems to be that it takes light of the pandemic, viewing it as being more benificial to humanity than it is harmful, if at all. The group has officially stated that the disease will come to save the earth, and making the human race one with the universe, higher beings, or simply enlightening humanity to a new, better world that will emerge out of the toils and hardship of the resistance. They state that if humanity is able to embrace the disease, then they will come to realize of the divine cause of it and come to the light side of the dark candle of life. The group, resonant with that of a grassroots new-age religious movement, is notable for its practice of terrorism, worship of the disease, and rumored human sacrifice. The number of members in the group is unknown but the number of followers of their beliefs is believed to be growing by the millions. The general public, fearful of what they may do to the non-believers, plea to the government for them to do something before the group uses their power and extremist views for extreme violence, or contributes to the fall of the nation to the ravenous beasts that they delusionally believe can save them.

The final portion of the final demand, Demand 5c, really stood out against the rest. This part was on the future of not only China, but the entire world, and the human race as a whole. What if, per se, that China were to fall? What would be of the rest of the world? Would they suffer the same fate, will China's demise be a wake-up call for the rest of the world to unite and fight as one against the horde, or will they all work individually, hoping that one nation will rise above the rest and ultimately rid the world of the disease? They don't want China to die, to sacrifice itself would be understandable, but to fall, when they could have been saved, it is beyond the capacity for a human being to even think of. So thus, the massive concentrations of people demand for the government to prepare itself for the inevitable. They urge the government to do everything it can now, or if not, then be prepared for when they come so that China could have a future, and still be able to fight the husks of fungal drones, and ensue that humanity still has a future.

The government was going to officially respond to all of their demands, and more, later in the day. When that time came, congress and many other government officials were set to begin when a large explosion covered most of the building in which they were in. Due to the explosion being indoors, as well as it having occured in a specific area of the building, not many of the protestors outside were killed, and many were injured due to the debris, but it was presumed that many on the inside were dead. The mass protest then turned into a riot as the protestors fled in all directions, confused and fearful for their lives. Military and police personel were also terrified, but they were more focused on who or what caused it. A full investigation would be launched, but for the time being, they would have to do everything in their power to calm the riot before it gets any worse.

Gunshots and a sound of battle cries are barely heard in the very far distance. Only but a few can recognize who they come from. That is the sound of a terrorist organization, thirsty for more blood.

The battle for fort Bern.

Image

When night fell, the Swiss finally rested. The sky was clear the chirping of birds can be heard from all around, twas a peaceful night. When most of the Swiss lowered their guard because of the general peacefulness of the situation that was when horrid shrieks was heard from the distance. They immediately recognize the shrieks as the ones they had dealt with earlier with those six zombies. To alert the 'garrison' of the fort they sounded the alarm; though they swiftly assembled, they have made a grave mistake.

The sound of the alarm echoed through the city and through the forest, soon enough legions of the undead started to shamble towards the source of the sound. As the undead start to go towards the sound their moans and shrieks just made the situation worse, they had attracted more of those hellish creatures. Meanwhile the Swiss were readying themselves for an easily battle against a handful of thousand zombies. As the undead slowly advanced towards the fort, they were immediately shot down by the defending Swiss. However, there is something wrong. The handful of thousand undead multiplied into millions of those hellish creatures.

Hope of winning against the undead horde is slowly decreasing whilst their numbers are increasing. More and more undead shambled towards the fort whilst more and more corpses filled the fields. The Swiss, accepting their fate continued to shoot down the brain dead horde taking as many as they can with them. The formerly silent night went alight with the sounds of gunfire and the sight of muzzle flares.

The undead en-roached closer and closer towards the fort the first line of defences fought on with doubled vigour. However, as minutes came by, the limitless undead have slowly, but surely started to overrun the first line. Fortunately, no one was bitten and their masks were on. The second line with now double the numbers started to cut down the zombies far faster than before. The 'human wave' of the undead is getting the better of them as their numbers were sliced thousands at a time.

Will the human race ever win against the fungus? They say that a little bit of hope can make man achieve the impossible, but where can we muster the hope? Chengdu? Beijing? Here? There is no more hope, the Human race is defeated; the hordes cooperate with each other, and we cannot even coordinate a defence. The Greeks, Moroccans, Koreans took advantage of the situation to fuel their desires whilst ignoring the ones who needed help. I had lost all hope that we will ever win against these creatures. These thoughts echoed through the mind of General Heinrich von Bern until he finally came to his senses when he heard the cheers of his men. The Swiss had defeated the horde! More than a million corpses lie in the battlefield while Heinrich stood petrified in disbelief about the victory that they had achieved.

The Moroccan Wall stands, and plans continue to expand. (This is Top Secret FYI)
Across the border walls 12-15 feet high stand, a testament to Moroccan military power and the only barrier they will have if the fungus reaches them. Now being upgraded turrets, trenches and landmine fields are being deployed to counteract them attempting to climb the walls and in some areas mortar teams are gathering to bombard Algerian cities as they are overrun, thus weakening their potential horde size. The air force plans to destroy all bridges over the Suez canal thus cutting off the fungal roots that have dug into peoples across the world, if that will be enough, god knows. A blockade stands around Melilla and Ceuta, and should a single infected be reported there the Moroccan Military will crush them and any Spanish forces with their 8th and 17th Armoured regiments and Air support from Rabat's royal air squadron. The navy prepares for the potential bombardment and embarkment of forces and civilians into the Canaries. Walls along the ten biggest cities are either complete or ensuing upgrading and all highways, airways and shipping ports are fully shut down. Any protesters that have been reported causing civil unrest have disappeared thanks to the adept powers of the Royal Gendarmerie and Nationalism is steadily rising thanks to propaganda. The terrorists that once operated in the Sahara are going to be dealt with now that they are worthless to the government. Their once great ability to generate propaganda was why they ignored their main base in counter attacks, now the Safi Royal Air Squadron will bomb them out.

Airlifted supplies to China
As agreed the Chinese airliners that would have been heading home with tourists were now loaded with rockets and being sent to a chinese air base a few miles from Beijing. They sent 250,000 57mm rockets, but to help the chinese further, they sent the chinese a design for a new Moroccan weapon that began development in 2022. This weapon was called the Automatic Incendiary Submachine Gun, or AISG, based heavily on the French FNP90 in its design, but with explosive lead bullets that are designed to melt once inside an enemy, thus severely damaging its ability to move. This gun was never used or produced due to it breaking the laws of war and violating the human rights enemy soldiers have. But since these things were far from human, there was no point in holding back tech to establish the best firepower, if they could slow the plague, they would commit to slowing it. No matter how bad they looked for doing it in front of the UN afterwards. With it came a note that exposed their plans to create a Mark II model of the AISG in the next three years if they could hold out. They knew that such a longstanding holdout would be difficult, but the Mark II would impact split into fragments and then melt, exponentially increasing the potential damage per shot.

A Deal with the Swiss
Image
To: The Government Officials of Switzerland
Morocco heavily supports the Swiss intervention in the East China Horde expansion. And the Moroccans wish to make a scientific invention with you to help slow the plague. Because fungus is highly evolutionary, a vaccine would likely only stall the infectious disease that has arisen. However, a good firearm could end it. We will send you a copy of one of our newest weapons that we only completed a few years ago. Though it violates human rights, the zombie-like creatures need to be stopped at all costs and hardly deserve to be given the respect humans are when one attempts to stop them. A weapon that can incapacitate them in a few shots would allow soldiers to quickly wipe them out will be highly important in our pursuit of isolating and ending this fungal threat to humanity. If the Swiss could devote its firearms industry to helping Moroccan scientists inventing a AISG mkII, we may all have a chance of stopping it before it is too late. For if all of East Asia falls, it is only a matter of time before we see them at our borders with the same hunger for humanity as they displayed in the initial tibetan outbreak. Thankyou for your time and consideration, and may we make it through this horror in one piece,

Tianducheng, Zhejiang, China
What was once a ghost town had been filled up with people. The town- which was an exact replica of Paris, was now full of desperate refugees. The crowding was so severe that some families had to sleep in just one or two beds, and some were even out on the streets. Rations were squabbled over, and dogs, cats and even rats were killed and eaten by starving refugees. It was hell for even the most well-off refugees.

A family arrived from the south. They looked crazed, hungry and sickly, but the guards didn't give them a scrap of food or check if they were okay. They just prodded them with their blood-stained rifles and herded them into an appartment as if they were cattle. A family already lived here, but there simply wasn't enough room in this city for everyone to be housed seperately.

After a few days, the families began squabbling. The other family, who seemed increasingly agitated despite their illness, began attacking the other family. On the second night of their stay, when all but one person were sound asleep, a shrill cry could be herd as a set of teeth sunk into a neck. The outbreak had spread of East China...

Shanghai, China
People paraded through the streets. Some of them were holding banners carrying photos of the scientist who wanted to befriend the fungus, while others carried black flags with a sickly brown hand shape in the middle of the darkness. They were the Hand of The Spores, a group which believed that the spores were beneficial and that humanity must convert to the ways of the infected.

They soon paraded toward the science lab. Scientists, only just beginning to realise what was going on, hurriedly put whatever furniture they could against the doors. The crowd chanted and tried to push themselves in, but the scientists were too crafty. Some of them stuck guns out from the piles of rubble and began firing on the crowd. Chaos had began once more...

Macau, China
It was 3AM, and the city of Macau was in utter panic. The Cordyceps apocalypsis fungus had enroached rural areas around the city, and now the police would need to swiftly prepare for the oncomming horde. Some, who thought that the police would fail, tried to steal boats and sail away, but many failed. Rioting and looting ran rampant as the people of Macau began to become a bigger threat than the zombies. The zombies, however, soon walked into the city, and the police made no considerration when firing into the crowds that were a flurry of zombie and human. Bombs exploded in the street, sending shrapnel flying through the mass of sprinting flesh that was Macau's-zombiefying populace. The city was doomed...

Singapore
A lone ship sailed into the port. On its hull were some vietnamese characters that few could decipher, and the crew appeared to be mindlessly walking across the deck. Something was coming out of their heads. As the boat drew closer to the harbour, it became clear that these were zombies. Everybody panicked and ran from the dock as the boat crashed into it, shattering it. Wood collapsed into the ocean and a horde of zombies shambled onto dry land, chasing after whatever they could see. The police were overrun, and so was the military. By the end of the day Singapore had fallen...

Bangkok, Tailand
The Tai military ferociously patrolled the outskirts of the city as more disgruntled troops arrived from areas to the north. They were failing to stop the zombies, and now Bankok was the last place worth defending. The military, however, had suffered crushing blows, meaning that they would be outnumbered by the rapidly advancing horde that was being lured in by retreating soldiers.

Soon the first of the horde came rushing into the city's outskirts. Unorganised soldiers were forced to fall back as they became outnumbered by the hordes. Attack helicopters launched missiles at zombies, but it did little to curtain the horde's numbers. Eventually the city was overrun, and what remained of the soldiers escaped through attack helicopters

The AISG
The AISG Mk I was listed as Morocco's service rifle. It would be their first official service rifle and begin production immediately. The design, based on the design of the FN P90, it can fire up to 900+ RPM, and is pretty durable. With a newly upgraded brace added, it has an effective firing range of 800 meters and a Maximum firing range of 2,100 meters. On impact the chemicals within the bullet begin to heat the bullet, causing it to melt. When it cools (and if it hasn't killed the target) it will cool causing it to be entangled with bones, muscle, ligaments, or organs leading to damage in the targets maneuverability. In addition it has an extremely low jamming rate, is safe unless fired, and in those targets that survive it, the chemicals have a large chance of leading to a nervous system breakdown. The design is offered to any nation inside the proximity of the virus by 2500 km range from the infection zone to help combat and contain the spread of the virus.

Message to all UN Members
Image
To all respected members of the United Nations
It is time we take radical action to this new plague. I am aware many of your nations are trying to keep existing normally, however, should we not act, we will all eventually be overrun. Should East Asia fall, next will the Middle East and then Russia, from their all of the nations who are working to keep their governments going will fall one by one. It is a Domino Effect that will start with China. If we allow them to fall then a seventh of the world will be confirmed infected, India is already a lost cause and they too have a seventh of the people in this world. Should we allow 2 billion people to be infected, nothing will stop the virus. Even the best weapons and plans we have will be in vain. So today, Morocco wishes that the UN would form a committee of nations geared on destroying this terrifying virus before it is too late. We must act now, or the next cry to be left on deaf ears may be your nation.
Signed,

King Ismail II de Maroc

Rabat
Fortifications are completed and the garrison army has begun routine patrols. Public buildings in Rabat along with all other Public buildings in Morocco are heavily guarded and have frequent 'contagion drills'. The Gendarmerie control the Port barring any movement of the population and banning external trade entirely. Date farms are being grown throughout the city in what are called 'Freedom Gardens' in reference to being free of the virus. The Small nationalist Militias patrol the outside surrounding areas making sure anyone attempting to enter the city is cleared and uninfected using the report from china and containing them in rooms for a few days.

Casablanca
All Fortifications out of the way, the Military has two major bases there, one in Mohemmedia and one in Central Casablanca. Their they have set up a trading system internally allowing people to continue working, but mainly on additional wall upgrades, security armour and weapons along with bullet proof glass for the houses. On all main roads small armoured cars frequently are on patrol and the city governor Kharim has decided to enact extremely strict curfew at 9PM and until 9AM, troops and police are on constant watch 24/7 and the harbor is only opened to licensed fishers who are required to take an escort guard along with them from the National Militia.

Fes
With their own wall Fes is acting as a military air base with 12% of the air force stationed there. in return those planes will be temporarily be loyal to the city military governor Lafar, who has used extra resources t build bunkers for the population and military if the virus overruns the walls. Full of underground farming areas for oranges, sheep, fish, and dates, the area is airtight and can sustain 100,000 people there for twenty years. The military and their families getting first reservations and royals coming second of course.

Salé
Across the river from Rabat but under the same wall is Salé, armed with a minefield around it and Rabat's walls, they feel relatively safe and limited movement between Rabat and Salé is allowed during before curfew. The Navy has sent some of its smaller ships down the river to make sure no-one damaged the wall in it's river section where it was vulnerable to internal damage.

Marrakesh
Armed with its own minefield and a small armoured regiment is Marrakech. There the people live with easy access to Safi's fishing market via airlifted supplies and their own sheep supply which is within the wall boundary. But directly outside is a dangerous minefield designed to stop a horde before it reaches the city.

Tangier
Once a great trading city, Tangier's governor was tasked with controlling 11 naval ships in the pursuit of keeping any shipments away from Moroccan Maritime borders. They too have a minefield on their southern border along with a sturdy wall armed with machineguns and anti-air that can be converted into anti-personnel guns if need be.

Meknes
Near Fes and protected by their air force is Meknes. Meknes has a wide ditch full of tar around it to prevent the zombies from quickly reaching their walls and machine guns and missile launching posts all around it's walls. Internally it is under a system that provides food in return for the people working the farms. Currency is currently worthless in Meknes except to soldiers who are able to request special shipments using it.

Oujda
Near the Algerian Border is Oujda, and with a massive military base where it's town center once was it holds 16% of the Moroccan-Algerian Border forces who patrol the region only allowed to enter through one temporarily deactivated section of the minefield that allows them to enter the walls. Within the city is a barbed wired section around the town center which is guarded by tanks and considered the main base for the forces there.

Kenitra
Though it's wall is still under upgrading. Kenitra is a relatively secure city and has a minefield and a small 5% of the Moroccan Air Force based there. However, over twenty small naval ships are there for the secret Canaries invasion plan.

Agadir
In Agadir are both its citizens and those evacuated from the Berber villages in the Atlas Mountains which are now only to be used as a Moroccan Military zone where they will attempt to stop the virus should it enter through there. In Agadir is an extensive wall that allowed people to take up farming to help supply the population, the Gendarmerie controls the movement of people there and people must be in for a roll call in their neighborhood every other week.

Tétouan
With a slightly smaller wall but large minefield is Tétouan, another part of the force protecting Moroccan Maritime Borders, they are given good equipment and are allowed to bring in fishing supplies for the locals to use to survive the incoming food shortage.

Safi
A little ways away from Marrakech is their evacuation point should the zombies approach them. Safi the once medium sized city is directly controlled by Naval Admiral and Royal, Simon Maranid de Maroc. He has proved his ability to command naval ships from a young age and is optimistic about an invasion of the Canaries believing it will be challenging but more than possible.

Across the smaller cities
Troops make smaller versions of the minefields and walls arming them with varying amounts of firepower, but always a supportive nationalist militia that helps keep things moving. In many cities they have created walls from scrapped cars, torn up roads, and broken down machines which have been smelted down and used to make the walls. In smaller towns mines are replaced by ditches and trenches full of spikes along with barbed wire and less widely distributed IED's. The smallest towns are evacuated to bigger ones and striped of anything of sentimental or economical value and given to the families or used to fuel the war effort. Domestic Animals are herded into cities and underground chambers to be cultivated in and to help feed the Moroccan population. Though it has been a hard run, Morocco will be able to maintain this way of life as long as need be to avoid being overrun.

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The smell of burning flesh filled the streets of the Malaysian capital as the horde burst into a napalm-fueled flame. Several soldiers on top of a car went wild with machine guns, crazily shooting at the flaming hordes of the undead as they scrambled to get them. The car was soon rocking back and forth as the hordes attempted to clamber on, and the car began burning. The soldiers began firing even more ferociously.

then- something horrifying happened. The fuel tank of the car exploded, sending flaming zombies and people flying across the street. A cloud of flame rose up into the air after a massive boom, soon engulfing much of the street. A cloud of black smoke choked the tops of the highest buildings Helicopters flew through the air, evacuating what was left of the city's populace as the metropolis succumbed to the undead hellfire.

Tehran, Iran
Tanks and soldiers blockaded the outskirts of the town. The people of Tehran, who were more prepared than many of the Indians or Western Chinese, all wore gas masks. It was as if a soldier was defending every street corner and it seemed at times that tanks outnumbered cars. This was so because, across the mountains, cities had fallen to the undead. The hordes were now heading for Tehran and it was only a matter of time until they got here.

To the north, a massive horde of zombies could be seen shambling through a rugged pass between the mountains. Many fell down on the rocky ledges, rendering them battered and bruised. Some had their legs hanging on by decaying threads of skin, while others carried deep mounds filled with gravel. They all felt no pain, so they continued on.

As the first walked into the city, they were greeted by heavy fire. Bullets pelted the undead, and shattered chunks of mountain rock went flying as tank canons fired death upon the zombies. The whole city's military force ran over to crush the horde of nearly a million zombies. Soon every single one of them had been blown apart, their tattered remains littering the desolate, rocky earth. Iran had won its first victory against the zombie plague.

As the soldiers were celebrating, however, the radar began to pick up an even bigger horde coming in from the east. The soldiers frantically relocated to extinguish the second horde. But by the time they had arrived, however, the zombies were infringing upon the city's streets. Stealth bombers were called in to bomb them, but this also caused many civilian casualties. In the end, the zombies were beginning to push back the military.

As the scattered and confused soldiers fell to the hordes, generals and politicians left the city in helicopters. This city now had no hope of being saved, and in order to kill over a million zombies the government would need to use something kept so secret even the US's army of drones and hackers never found out- Iran's nuclear arsenal.

The last soldiers, fighting furiously and hiding behind the barricades that were bombed piles of rubble, saw something elongated flying towards the ground in the corners of their eyes. Their heads turned to look at it, but by then all that could be seen was a massive flash. A huge boom soon followed, leveling the cities as radioactive flames engulfed the city. Tehran had just been nuked...

Manila, Philippines
A dead body washed up on the beaches of Manila. Children played happily on the beach and adults basked in the sun, and soon a small child noticed the body. He jumped back in disgust of the mangled corpse, screaming and running away. Nobody noticed, however, as the corpse released spores into the air.

Several days later...

The Filipino military shot ferociously as zombies sprinted through the streets. The beaches, once pleasant places, were now full of rioting crowds fleeing from stampeding zombies. Planes above dropped bombs, creating massive explosions in the sand and sending pieces of rotting flesh flying through the air. Buildings burned and the gas tanks of cars sent flames rushing through the streets like water. Manila was falling...

Ulan Bator, Mongolia
A horde of zombies- their skin reddened and covered in sores from being beaten by the savage sandstorms, ran into the down. Dry, cracked skin flaked off onto the streets as they chased their screaming prey. There was practically no military here, and soon the zombies were able to infect everyone in the town.

Kyzylorda, Eurasian Union
A groaning noise came from the scrubby plains and echoes from the mountains. Hordes of zombies were ravaging the steppes of central Asia, and the borders of the Eurasian Union were a ripe target for hungry zombies.

As the zombies ran towards the town of Kyzylorda, however, something new was attacking them. With an eardrum-breaking boom, a dum dum bullet rocketed from the barrel of a Eurasian rifle and embedded itself firmly in a zombie's cheek. The bullet expanded, creating an explosion which blew off the zombie's face. Its eyeball fell to the ground as the infuriated creature charged at the gunmen, who shot several more bullets at it. The creature fell to the ground, its flesh being ripped off by small explosions. More zombies came. Dum dums rained down upon them, utterly mangling their heads and bodies. The soldiers strapped on their gas masks and advanced into the hills, where they let of choking yellow clouds of nerve gas zombies ran towards the colourful clouds only to lie twitching and drooling on the ground as their bodies were pumped full of exploding bullets. Flamethrowers sent burning tongues of flame rocketing through the yellowish air, charring the undead. handheld lasers burned huge holes through the creature's heads and blinded them.

A victory had been made for the humans. The town was safe...

Operation Dōngchóngxiàcǎo

Seoul, South Korea
The Chinese man booked into the hotel. Supposedly a refugee from Chengdu, he had come here to seek refuge from the zombie fungal outbreak. He believed that here, in this city, life was safe. He pressed a button and went up an elevator. Relaxing music played as he went up to his room. Once in his room, he collapsed onto a well-made bed and fell asleep.

The next morning, the man left the hotel and walked into the train station. People were all squashed together, like a sweaty, soggy tomato sandwich. Every day the train system of South Korea somehow managed to take this gargantuan load of passengers to where they needed to go.

The man sat down on a bench and pulled a jar out of his coat. It was full of spores! He was working for The Hand of The Spores! He pretended to drop it, releasing clouds of the microscopic spores into the air. Nobody, noticed, though. Seoul was now a ticking time bomb...

Moscow
The Russian Government has authorized the creation of "Fortress Cities".Basically, they were fortified cities protected by 40 ft thick and 20 ft high walls. They were built in Moscow,Volgograd,St.Petersburg,Kharkov,Minsk,Archangel,Sochi,Astana, and Omsk. The STAVKA has also authorized the production of 1,000 specialized Flamethrower Tanks to be sent to the front and all bullet production in the Russian War Factories were changed to Dum-Dum bullets in the light of the success of small-scale usage of dum-dum bullets in Kazakhstan.
