If this doesn't convince MS that Windows 8 was a failure, then nothing will.

They fired Sinofsky too late.

Anyway, how is XP x64 even on the list?

But for gaming? All I ever remember XP x64 being used for enterprise stuff, seeing as how it's Windows Server 2003 deep down. I doubt server OSs are much good at that.

Or they meant XP for Itanium *spit*.

It's still early in the lifetime of the Win 8.

Let's not make any early conclusions.

I wouldn't say it's "early" when a major service pack has been released and Win 9 is scheduled to be announced within the month.

And, considering they said that Windows 10 was going to be "cloud-based", it's likely that they're already planning to continue that trend.

I do, because my internet options are limited in my rural location and downloading games digitally to install them takes forever and puts me over my monthly bandwidth allowance immediately.

With a disc, I don't have to worry about that stuff.

Too bad a lot of the newer games force players to download Origins, whatever the crappy thing Ubisoft uses, etc., even when installing from disc. Very stupid.

I don't like saturating my network with my downloads, despite my unlimited internet plan.

I still use disc on BF4 and Skyrim.

Yeah, I'm going to have to side with the Epic Games CEO and call that bullshit.

Hah. If this dumbass exec is referring to integrated HSA support, the Kaveri APUs have that.

They're using AMD's current generation jaguar architecture. There is nothing next-gen about the consoles.

Heck, AMD's Mantle won't be available for consoles, and neither will freesync.

I just can't help but laugh that a man like that could know so little about the business he's in.

My opinion is that Vista was far worse than 8. I installed the Classic Shell start menu for 8 and I've had no problems since.

At least Vista was designed with desktops in mind.

It is way more accessible.
And a lot easier to understand, because I can still tell what the file icon is.

iOS is more "accessible" and "easy to understand" then Win95. You can be damn sure that I'll choose Win95 over iOS 100% of the time.

Here's a first hand account from someone on another forum I frequent:

"
I built my system about 6 months ago and gave it Windows 8. I read both sides of the argument, people saying it was amazing and people saying it was terrible. Stupidly, I listened to the former and didn't go with 7.

At first I thought it was ok. I installed startisback instantly, making it appear as if the app screen didn't exist. Then my first problem happened: I was trying to change an extremely hidden setting (I can't remember what it was), so I was following a guide on how to get there. Now, on Windows 7, I never had any problems following a guide because you could have the browser open on one side and the required program on the other, but in 8 it's just a big F you. You want to look at two things at once? Too bad! Every time you want to go to a setting that isn't in the control panel, you lose full access of your computer. How stupid is that?

Also, I just installed 8.1, which required me to log in with my Windows account, and now everything is tied to it for absolutely no reason. I'm never going to use microsofts cloud drive and I'm never going to use their app store, but now I have to constantly have the Windows Live ID thing going, which sucks.

How can anybody defend this OS? Sure, there may be small upgrades here and there, but anybody who thinks the Tablet style screen is a good idea is completely mental. I got tricked into believing that I would never have to look at it, but oh was that dumb.
"

My experience with Windows 8 basically consisted of about an hour of trying to figure out where the fuck Device Manager was and then completely giving up on that dumbed down shitos.

And, for the record, I'd still be using Windows XP if games supported it more.
