Do you consider Mormonism to be Christian?

Simple enough question, I'd think. Do you think that Mormonism, as is practiced by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is Christian?

My family and I converted to Mormonism when I was around eight or so, and I was baptized that following year as a member of the LDS Church. In Sunday school, I was taught about Jesus Christ, God, the Gospels as well as the Book of Mormon, and generally about the religion. It is somewhat hazy, because I was so young and ended up leaving the Church a short time later, but during that time, I was taught that Mormons were Christians. That is an understanding I still have today.

But what does everyone else believe? Are Mormons, by any stretch of the term, Christian? If so, why? If not, why not?

The Buddhist Mormons I know of are all hardcore vegetarians. They tried going vegan, but failed. But they are hardcore vegetarians nevertheless.

Mormonism, along with most other protestant sects, could be considered different sects of christianity, in the same way Monothelitism, Monophysitism, Messalianism, and Bogomilism could be considered different denominations.

But they're not. They're classified as heresies....
