Psychotic Dictatorship

Tsanis got up in rage and stormed out of his room. Nothing could improve his day today. But that was a lie. He didn't have much of a temper and cooled down very quickly. Tsanis went down to the lobby for a snack. He was very hungry. "YUM.....foooooooood" He took whatever was for breakfast, not caring what it was, and went back upstairs to eat it alone. After finishing the meal, he went back downstairs and sat in the chair once again. He made a small sand-ball and started messing with that to pass the time.

Jacob shuffled out of his room with a yawn, his tail waving behind him, trailing towards the ground from his lethargy. While not wuite a morning person, he didn't wake up and be immediately energetic like some people. So he was basically normal, waking up a bit out of it and slowly waking up. Coffee probably would help, but Jacob rarely drank the stuff, preferring other drinks to wake him up, like milk or possible wine. Didn't make too much of a difference, but milk was probably better with Cereal and other foods. He padded through the apartment, down the hall that the bedrooms were along, his feet silent through the carpeted floor's cushioning.

A brief glance across the hall let Jacob observe the myriad of decorations in the hall, ranging from little tables with lamps on them and various souvenirs from places all three of the residents had been during their lives. The ones from Albert tended to be more military in flavor, being trophies from conquered nations or various trinkets he'd found after battles. Jacob's were more cultural pieces he'd bought or had found while wandering in his home. There also were little things like that around the apartment, including an ancient Maridian shield that hung behind one of the couches in the living room, a relic from Albert's youth and some of the first wars of expansion.

Other things that Jacob generally hadn't noticed in his apartment included the paintings from his home, a few from Ray's Earth, and the few pictures that were hung up or put in various places. Jacob smiled tiredly. He still hadn't woken up quite yet, plus it was still early(as far as he knew) he had yet to get anything to eat, but he'd rectify that soon enough. Observing the portraits and paintings led Jacob to start thinking of happy times, and all the fun times as well. He sighed, and continued looking around the apartment, feeling oddly nostalgic about things right now.

After a bit of thinking, Jacob realized something: It had been over a year since he'd ended up in the building, after the Raptors had punched a rip between his universe and this one. He grinned slightly, and chuckled. There had been some interesting times while he was here, from the earlier days, which seemed a bit more carefree and innocent, until a bit later on, when some of more deadly stuff started to happen, like the invasion of the Drones and other miscellaneous nastiness, like the strange place Albert had been in that ended up getting him slightly maimed. It wasn't always a happy place, or drama-free, but that was just life. Life with an odd bunch of magic individuals, aliens, Velociraptors, and just normal humans. And it was something that Jacob would not have traded for anything in any universe.

He smiled and sighed happily again, padding down the hallway in his bare feet, and knocking on the door to the room shared by Albert and Ray, to see if they were awake. Some latin mumbling came from it, basically telling Jacob that Albert was either awake or half awake, and just not wanting to leave bed yet. Jacob rolled his eyes, and turned around, deciding to leave them alone for a bit longer. Its not like those two had to be anywhere either, right?

So Jacob made himself a quick breakfast in the kitchen, a breakfast sandwich made of egg, cheese, bacon, and a bagel. Once that was done and JAcob had slightly better clothes for the day(better than his pajamas, which for sure were not something he should wear outside of his apartment), he started heading through the halls, and towards the elevators, planning on heading down to the lobby to get the mail for his apartment, before heading to the communal gathering room to see if any of his friends were there. Seemed like a good plan, but Jacob guessed that something would likely distract him from doing so, this being the Building and all.

The personification stepped out into the lobby from the elevator, glancing around to see if anyone was there. He saw too things he was pretty sure he had never saw before there, a talking pony, and something that looked like an anthropomorphic talking equine of some sort. Pretty interesting thing to see so early in the morning, Jacob immediately thought, smiling a bit. But the personification decided to check his mail before possibly talking to these new people and Giovenith. First came the mail! So Jacob went to go see that, and took out the few things in there, which included a few bills, and not much else.

"Hey, are you two new here? I don't think I've met either of you before." Jacob called across the room, waving to them, his dog ears standing up among his brown hair and his tail slowly waving behind him. "In any case, nice to meet you two! What aree are you, by the way? I do not think I have ever met anything like either of you."

Swith Witherward wrote:"Of course we can keep going. We might do more of it here. Well, there, in Bielefeld. Because you're not in Bielefeld at the moment. Although you are, somewhat. In a fashion."

He added sugar lump to his cup and swirled it around with a finger. "I was hoping you'd want to continue. I have something coming up that I could use your help on. But those details are sketchy even to me, and I'm not sure if it'll pan out or not. It all depends on Time and Fate and tuna." Which is to say it all depended upon kickstarting some things on Sunday, but Will was just as much in the dark as this writer is currently.

"In the meantime, part of a cultist's job is to find ways to make things mesh again. Gods unravel fabric. Sometimes egos and hidden feelings unravel friendships. You can't weave fabric but you can mend broken bridges. That's why I brought you here. To mend the breaks in your group. Marcus and Torsi and Giovenith and Drova and Myra. Mend."

"Very good. I'd like to get back into the routine, if we ever had one."

Yuna pondered the words for a moment. If her friends were like fabric, than Yuna would need to be the stitch, but how? When she held contempt for a few of them already, mostly Torii at the moment. but it wasn't anger. She had feelings to, and if she was supposed to be the peace-maker between them, well, then it'd be quite the job to see done.

"I don't know how."

Four simple words, but they conveyed what she thought of that pretty well.

Giovenith wrote:"Oh yeah, kids, they're so, you know, cute and stuff," the Equestrian pegasus agreed half-attentively, as he rather liberally reached into one of the again-asleep Giovenith's dress pockets, and pulling out a bottle of water that seemed to be too big to have fit so inconspicuously in there. "This is Giovenith, she's my roommate and self-appointed bodyguard. She was supposed to go out with friends last night, and I found her asleep just now on the freaking lobby floor."

Willow gestured to any of the other passed out teens strewn across the lobby, all looking quite worn down and exhausted. He was, as of yet, clueless as to what they had done to wind up like this, but Willow was sincerely hoping they weren't the 'at-risk' type. The last thing he wanted to do was go all D.A.R.E. on their flanks, but he would if he had to. Willow wasn't Giovenith's parent or related to her in any fashion (well, no shit), but if she was, Celestia forbid, on drugs or drinking, the pony knew it would have been his obligation to alert her elders and take the appropriate measures. He was stiff like that.

He bit down on the cap, twisted it open, and then spit the white plastic thing to the side before gently setting it on the ground. "Giovenith, wake up and drink something."

"Mmmmshmmfffff..." Giovenith groaned, loosely pushing the pony away. "Freakiiiiin' gfffff..."

"Indeed." Cerril said, realizing that his conversation partner wasn't particularly interested in hearing about his son at the moment. "Heh, reminds me of when I used to sneak into my parent's room and sleep on the floor... Dad hated stepping on my tail every morning." He said, chuckling a bit in nostalgia. "Well, out of curiousity, would you be interested in babysitting for me? It'd pay pretty well... You'd be getting a lot of benefits from the royal family as well."

"... Uhhhh..." Willow grimaced, flattened his ears, and glanced to the side worriedly, temporarily shifting his concern away from the (now waking up) Giovenith. "I'm not sure about that. It's a very generous offer and all, but I've never really been... good with children, and what have you. I would most likely perform abysmally."

The closest Willow had ever come to babysitting in the past was helping out with his father's little league coaching once back in Cloudsdale. It hadn't gone well, to say the least. Never before had he seen anypony of any age become so vicious over the last bag of animal crackers, nor get into so many fights about the mammal-hood or lack thereof of whales and dolphins, nor ask so many times where babies came from, and apparently, you weren't supposed to describe in great detail exactly what would happen to their soft little skulls if they kept throwing a fit about not wearing their protective headgear and a fastball struck them face-first.

"I could help out in an emergency, I guess," he offered apologetically, rubbing the back of his head. "But you probably wouldn't want me as a go-to."

"Jacob," Giovenith suddenly greeted hoarsely, Willow briefly catching her gaze to spot the cat-hyoo-mun she was looking at.

"Gotcha, then. Shame, you'd even get a snazzy royal babysitting uniform and everything... Mind you, it looks really 15th century." He said with a smirk. "Then again, everything looks pre-industrial revolution in my country. Minus the whole military and everything." Cerril plopped down onto an available seat and stretched his arms again. "But I understand your concern. You should know that he's very well-behaved. Unless you happen to scare the hell out of the little guy, then he throws a fit."

"Hi there, Giovenith. You okay? You look like you really could use some more sleep..... Wait, did you and the other teens sleep out in the lobby tonight? Why would you do that?" Jacob asked, his dog ears flicking around from his curiosity. He had no idea why she and they would have slept here, seeing as he'd been more than a little shut up for a while, having spent most of his time around the apartment reading various books and cleaning up after them all. IT took quite a lot to make sure that fur wasn't covering literally everything after all.

Jacob waved again to the odd looking humanoid equine thing, wondering how he hadn't noticed him despite speaking directly to him, along with the pony near Giovenith. Well, he'd notice eventually, most likely.

Cerril stared at Jacob blankly before blinking, as if processing what he just said. Nope, still made no sense to him. "I'm an Arkadat... Insectoid bug-horse people, I guess you could say. We're from Earth, on a little island in the Mediterranean sea called Tinell. It's a lovely place, although I have no idea why we're so obscure nowadays. Back in the Middle Ages we were conquering a lot of North Africa."

"Feh. I'm a modernist." As many present-day artists of the abstract taste were, though the style had actually first began to peak out in the 19th century (not counting the earliest of arts, such as cave paintings and weaving patterns, which were arguably abstract), at least in Earth's timeline. It was a bit of rebellious thing however, but that was a lesson for another day.

Willow huffed with slightly amused dismissal, stretching out a foreleg and observing a bracelet from a distance as he did so, then rolled his eyes over to nod at and quietly observe Jacob. If Giovenith was the one to do the talking, he wasn't one to put in the extra words. More-so when Cerril and "Jacob" the cat hyoo-mun conversed primarily, and were using subject matters he wasn't entirely familiar with. What did it mean to be a "personification"? Like a mascot? He coughed a bit, and helped Giovenith to her feet as she finally rose.

"We were up all night guarding the halls..." Giovenith croaked, then hacked a few coughs herself. The godling was not feeling well, at all. The sheer stress of the other day, her fatigue, her soreness, and her deep sadness and slight anger at having missed the dance yet knowing the punishment wasn't even over yet (it grated on her that she had agreed to chores so they could go to the dance in the first place, only to have that ripped away too), had grained into her. In short, Giovenith was having a piss-poor morning, and was not in the mood to put in the extra effort to be especially cheery at the moment. She accepted and chugged down the water Willow had offered her, before looking around at her adolescent fellows, wondering if she should wake them as well.

"I'm a pegasus. Yeah." Willow remarked to Jacob without enthusiasm. He saw little point in going into his country for introductions, but figured (ironically enough) that the Roman might not know what he was either.

"Honesty is the first step." Will set his teacup back into the saucer and let it hover by his left elbow. He propped his chin on his knuckles and surveyed the girl.

"Thank you for not being too mad at us for skipping out on guard duty. We didn't, really. Well, some of us did, but honestly, they just wanted time to spend with their kids. Are you surprised that we have families? We do. Meaning Charumati's lot. Can't speak for Klaus' men. Those bastards patrol and go back to the Ruins to their cabaret. Sad fuckers. But us? No, some of us have happy wives and little ankle biters living in small cottages with picket fences. I don't have that but maybe someday I will. Bah. Someday. Not today."

The cultist sighed and lazily scratched the back of his head. "Anyway, take it from this old bloke... when the flames are high, any little spark can start a blaze outside the hearth. I think that's what happened with your friends. It was stressful, people didn't realize the weight of the situation because, let's face it Yuna, teens sometimes can't see beyond their noses. Oh, I remember what it was like to be a teen, to feel like I was the only person in the world, to only see what I knew rather than the world itself. I guess what I'm saying is that Miss Torii didn't use her brain. Couple that with Hans being a total failure as a parental figure... he's a fucking Nazi, by god... and you have a recipe for disaster. Omelet pan too hot, eggs not whisked properly, and the whole thing tastes like rubber. So start with that. Teen hearts, like eggshells, are easily broken. You have to treat them just the right way or they harden into a ball that everything else bounces off of."

The saucer lifted and he picked up the cup to finish his tea. "So, what would you like to learn, luv? You've got your herbs down pat. You learned about bats. You've proven that you're not afraid to help a friend. Now it's time to figure out what you'd like to be. What you want to know."

I have money, though; my sister is pretty rich, so I guess I am, too, not that I care for money, but she says that I should always keep some just in case!"

Suddenly, she popped back up, facing Flint. "You really were beat up bad yesterday. You almost died. I was really worried."

Flint led Torii out the door and into the city. "I do not remember everything of yesterday, but I do remember one thing. I walked into clinic, and saw myself lying on the bed. I don't know what was going on, but I didn't feel right. Anyway, to store. Hopefully they take national currency..." Flint said a bit off-handedly. She wasn't sure if the stores around here took cartridges as payment like the building did, but it was a national currency that was recognized as such world-wide. Hopefully, they did.

Javert walked out into the lobby, carrying his tea in a to go cup. "Morning," He said to Willow, Jacob, Giovenith, and Cerril. He took a sip from his cup, and wondered what to do with his day. It smelled like the weather had decided to stay warm for a while. Pity. He liked mist, snow, rain, and cold. They reminded him of home.

Again, Yuna took it all in, listening to what Will had to say, talking about family, about teen hearts, and what Yuna wanted to do . . .

"I guess I never thought you guys had family." She smiled. "Who do you have then? Everyone has family somewhere." She asked, suddenly interested in Will's backstory. She only knew what he told her, and it wasnt much besides what she'd been taught.

"Eh, nevermind. What do you think I could do? I mean, I have no idea about anything that you guys do, or where I'd fit in."

Jorgen continued reading for a while, before placing a bookmark back in the book, and closing the book, a little too hard, and the sound of the book's closing echoed through the room. Jorgen sighed, and looked around, not worried with all of the people here. Either they would talk to him, or they would not. He didn't care either way, really. He scanned the various people within line of sight, looking them over both with his human eye and his machine eye. Odd bunch, they had here, he thought, then again... I'm quite odd myself, so I guess I cannot be one to judge. He shrugged, and slowly pulled himself to stand, his legs whirring to pull him to a standing position. Once he was standing, he stretched his human arm, and traveled across the room, tucking the book back into his pocket as he looked at his watch.

The feel of earth under him feet felt familiar, soft and pliable with just a touch of moisture that felt cool under his warm feet. The delicate blades of grass that tickled his ankles and toes with each step, the feel of gentle heat pressing against the back of his neck and shoulders as he strode on top a mound, hands brushing past oat-grass and hawkweeds, and the gentle breeze a faint whisper in the wind of life in the open quiet plains. Dan tilted his head to the right, capturing the sun’s rising heat and closed his eyes to as he took in the moment; the faint flapping of wings caught his attention and as he looked down and to the left and spotted a a bevy of swans gliding across a river that sparkled in reflection of the sun.

There was an echo of some sort, a crack of noise that sounded in the sky despite the loud silence that was his surroundings; or so the Fae thought he heard. It had compelled him to stop amid the flora and fauna and look around in curiosity, to see if maybe one of his kind had followed him quietly (it wouldn't be the first time). And he was close to a mound, the Fae knew he wouldn't be alone. He peered around, to discern the direction from where it came. The open vista held no clues, no other Sidhe or animal except the graceful winged creatures that long since flew past.

And he peered up again to the clear cornflower blue skies as he thought he may have heard his mentor. Aurora likened these lessons as a measure to hone Dan's senses, something that was never quite properly mastered. And as his tri-colored eyes looked to the heavens above, so would they open to a different, but also familiar, place and no sooner that his surroundings change did Dan realize it was all just a dream. He struggled not to close his eyes again; the soft pillow that he rested his head on threatened to pull him back to sleep, to escape back to his world even if were a fleeting reality. Coupled with the warm blanket he was wrapped in, it was a temptation that he was losing a battle with. The bedroom was dim, the only source of light were tiny slivers of sunlight peeking through the curtains. He turn, facing the ceiling and yawned, not entirely sure if he wanted to get up.

He closed his eyes for a moment, recalling his dream. It felt nothing like a dream. For one, his feet felt a little cold, and half his face felt as though it had captured the sun’s heat. More importantly, there were things to get done today, Haven in particular as he knew it was about time he set off to doing something with it rather than stalling. Pushing the blanket away, he stretched himself and got out of bed. Half an hour later he was dressed, pulling a deep red hoodie over him as he stepped out of the bedroom and out the door, locked it behind him. His first stop was the lobby, as hot cup of tea was calling to him and Dan felt he needed as much before he made his way to Haven.

It was later in the evening when a large black shape began descending from the sky in the middle of down town Belefield. It took the form of a large olden greek sail boat made out of pitch black wood and it sailed across the night sky silently with a sort of menacing grace. Its oars moved in constant rhythm stirring up a fain breeze as it passed by. It caused a subconscious shudder in those who looked upon it due to its strange other worldliness and the symbols that dotted its sails caused people to lapse into a strange sort of day dreaming state.

The craft soared well above the city scape and only towards the end of its journey did it begin to descend towards the roof of The Apartment where it began to hover only a few meters above the building.

Gregory lifted the cup to his mouth and gulped down the coffee. "Coffee" was being generous, though. It was more like sludge. Hot, disgusting sludge that he had to force down this throat. He sighed.

She's such a bitch, he thought to himself. His mind was focused on his wife - sorry, ex-wife. The divorce went by quickly. He squeezed the handle of his suitcase. Inside of it were clothes, mostly. He had a backpack on where his computer and papers were. A second suitcase had a collection of books, magazines, and more papers. He kept a syringe in the suitcase of clothes, wrapped up with two vials for later. His addiction was worsening. He didn't think about it. All he wanted to do was finish his project and continue his work. Maybe get some cash from it, a Nobel prize. Things would get better. That's what he kept telling himself.

When the bus came to a halt, he hoisted himself out of his seat and made his way down the aisle, down the stairs, and into the street. In front of him was an apartment building that he proceeded into. He sighed, making his way to a couch and placing his things down. He flopped down too, tired from lack of sleep for the past week or so.

"I need more coffee," he muttered under his breath.

With a sudden bright blue and red flash, a rabbit materialized out of thin air and landed with a thump on the back of the sofa. He peered down at Gregory.

Coffee?, he invited, writing with his ears in almost offensively fluorescent colors that hung in the air for a few moments before disappearing. So it was that there was indeed a pot being held up in both paws. You look tired, rumpled man. Have not seen you here before. Come, you must have coffee. Whole pot. Then we can get you new apartment, if you're here to stay.

Torsiedelle wrote:"Yay~", Torii thought to herself. She was still happy-go-lucky, despite Flint's current appearance, and she did notice it, too. Bending over slightly and walking around, she did see why Flint would maybe want new clothes. "Yyyyeeeaaaa....sure, I can help you with that. Maybe. I don't get out much.

"Well, they usually seem to take me and my sister's money, so I don't see why they wouldn't take yours. I guess We'll see, huh?"

Torii glanced back a bit nervously at the building. She always felt a little uncomfortable leaving it behind. Then, there was that big black boat hovering up ahead. For all she knew, it was a cultist or Conservator thing, or maybe something related to the Luxans. Either way, it couldn't have been that bad if it was so close to the building, but she didn't want to be around and find out. "Let's walk faster.", She told Flint. She picked up her pace and pulled ahead of the older girl by and inch or so. It was awkward, walking with someone who she barely knew, and she wanted to try and make some small-talk to ease things up. "Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll find a nice store, or run into somebody one of us knows. I wonder who all regularly goes out, besides some of the adults and my sister."

Chrys stopped short at the sight of all the people gathered there, some of which she didn't recognize. A lot, actually. One exhausted-looking man on a couch with MB behind him, one very tan and fit-looking Asian, and one with gadgets on his body. "Hi!" she chimed. "Are you new? There's a ton of newcomers lately. Must be spring, you know. New growth, new residents. I'm Chrys."

Gregory blinked.

Then he stood up and backed away. "Uh, I'm obviously hallucinating," he replied. "You aren't... real? Yeah, hallucinations. Seriously, why a rabbit? What the fuck does that symbolise?" He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. Then he took the coffee pot from the rabbit, grabbed a convenient cup, and poured himself some coffee. "You're the most helpful hallucination I've met so far," he mused, as he set the pot down and took a sip. "So what? Are you the rabbit doorman or something?"

Jorgen stared at the girl for a moment, somewhat confused at her, before shrugging. "Yes, I am... Relatively new. Been here a day or so, have yet to do much of anything in that time. Honestly, I've simply been waiting for something to happen, as I always do." His mechanical eye had been scanning the girl the whole time, examining her closely, taking her features in, that he might remember her at even a glance later. "Anyway, I am Jorgen. Jorgen Rodgers." He extended his mechanical hand to the girl for her to shake. "Nice to meet you, I guess."
