THE REVOLUTIONARY REPUBLIC IF OFFICIALLY DISSOLVED

Image
(Thousands came out on the streets of Naradia to support the formation of the Interim Peoples Democracy, even swamping this RAFB Tank)

At 4:25pm this afternoon the Provisional Assembly voted to dissolve the Revolutionary Republic.

As well as this astonishing move they also increased the capacity of the Provisional Assembly, allowing a further 800 representatives from across Bulgislavia and to form a "Broad Front" government until free and fair elections can be held to elect a Revolutionary People Power Assembly. The Provisional Assembly was also renamed the Interim Peoples Assembly.

"This represents a change, into something new, it is what we need, we have to put this period behind us and focus on our future" state Igor Rukesku.

Following the shock announcement thousands came out onto the streets. While most people support the end of the Revolutionary Republic and the formation of the Interim Peoples Democracy, others protested the move say it will weaken the Peoples Revolution in the long run.

Media coverage was extensive with documentaries and frequent news reports, recounting the 21 months that the Revolutionary Republic existed.

ATHENA RIANU DEFENDS HER RELATIONSHIP

Athena lashed out at critics who claim she is only influential because of her relationship with Radu Suslov the former leader of Bulgislavia. On her Consos social network profile she ranted:

"I got to where I am today because I am passionate about people and about this country. I work really hard to do absolutely everything in my power to further grass roots causes and empower people and their communities. Radu did not form the Community Action Party, I did. Radu is not leading the front line demonstrations of the Social Justice Movement, I am. So all you critics that claim my involvement with Radu is the reason I am here, you can shove it"

Consos is short for Connected Society and is Bulgislavian's answer to Facebook. It is currently the most influential social networking sight on the Peoples Interlink (Bulgislavia's domestic internet)

Riots out of control, Turning deadly

Hoffen-Federal Republic of Geanna; It is now the third day as a nationwide State of Emergency has been declared in the Federal Republic of Geanna. The small semi-autonomous republic home to 34 million people, is seeing the worst outbreak of civil uprising in decades. Around 11pm last night, an Emergency Committee convened and declared a country wide State of Emergency, ushering in State Police, PDF, and even ATU forces by the thousands.

Three days ago, the communist group commonly known as the Red Hand released documents that were reportedly classified by the Pravene Defense Force present in the country over the resultant chemical attacks and massacres from 1975-1976 during the Geannese Conflict. With the successful assassination on the late Prime Minister Caffrey, and tens of thousands having taken to the streets across the country in waves of hatred and vengeance upon both the acting Geannese government and PDF units stationed in the territory.

The situation the Emergency Committee says, has spiraled out of control to the point the country is grinding to a halt. The Ministry of Defense in Pravengria ordered an emergency meeting of their own on the situation, as to a possible response in dealing with the riots. So far, police have been battered back in different cities by rioters, as the civil unrest is becoming more organized on their attacks. As of 6am this morning, the death toll has risen to 173, with 200 more suspected injuries. The Emergency Committee stated that rioters have resorted to fire-bombing police walls, buildings and cars. Hoffen, the capital of 9 million people, is struggling under the weight of its unrest as widespread looting, and destruction of property is going widely unchecked.

Image
Minayev the figurehead of the Red Hand organized a rally in the occupied city of Helven in Southern Geanna with over twelve thousand participants. Minayev, who broadcasted his speech on Geannese television called for the ''time of a revolution'', ushering in the idea of a possible and re-ignition of another Geannese Civil War. PDF units who have monitored the internet networks in and out of the country as of late since the outbreaks, stated that the Red Hand may also be present in Bulgislavia, a nation that has recently switched governments through a long and exhausting communist revolution. It is very possible now, that the Red Hand could be receiving aid, and even weapons and training from their new found Bulgislavian allies.

Rockets slam Hoffen; Pravene Commonwealth to intervene

Hoffen-Federal Republic of Geanna; Riots over the past few days have taken a sudden and drastic turn in the Federal Republic of Geanna. Around 4:30 this morning, mortar fire could be heard as the capital of Hoffen was being targeted by what the Geannese Emergency Committee believes are Red Hand operatives. Hoffen which has seen over twelve thousand people leave their homes and jobs to join the growing nationwide riots, have been able to successfully beat back police and PDF units who have now ordered a withdraw from the city.

The government has been ordered by the Committee to be moved to Galligan, 45 kilometers west of Hoffen where authorities hope they can regroup. At around 4 this morning, numerous areas on the Felgen Hills that look over the capital in the west were swarmed with rioters, by 4:30 mortar fire began to rain shells down on the city hitting government and state districts. Leo Varnis who is acting head of the Emergency Committee has ordered the use of Geannese military to mobilize and start the process of trying to control the situation which has spiraled out of control.

Minayev last night, the spokesman and alleged leader of the Red Hand in another televised event during a rally in Helven has ordered the organization to ''set the seeds for revolution'' he said. With what began as riots days ago seems to be heating up in a civil war yet again on Geannese soil. The country which endured through a brutal conflict from 1970-1976 that saw over two hundred thousand casualties, has long retained its scars and distrust over the Pravene Commonwealth and PDF units.

Minayev stated to the Red Hand; that he is now calling the ''People's Revolution Movement''-- that it is now a time for Geannese citizens to answer their ''Call to Arms''. In Gowth, fighting erupted between police and civilians when the two groups clashed in Jymbrith Square this morning, what began as a brutal brawl resulted in an actual firefight where police units were forced to open fire upon civilians who were firebombing and running vehicles through the police shield walls.

Videos uploaded to YouTube and other media sites have gone viral in the midst of the chaos. Varnis said this is the first time in decades that such an outbreak has occurred. Police and PDF were ordered to withdraw from the capital of Hoffen, and the town of Norrith after they were beaten back sustaining heavy casualties by ''large armed mobs.'' Sergeant Bavel, who is a member of the Norrith Police Department described the situation in their city, ''We were ordered to hold the line, but when they began to rush at us with pipes, bricks, and molotovs we started to be pushed back.'' Bavel said that when the line refused to be broken, people actually got into their vehicles and began to slam them into the shield walls. ''After the first few vehicles came running into us, alot of the officers dropped their shields and stun weapons and started running away from the fray.'' Bavel said.

With violence having rocked the country, and the now PRM backing the attacks, the country has ground to a complete halt. With military forces across the country now mobilizing to deal with the outbreaks that have resulted in firefights, Varnis has called upon help internationally to try and quell the uprising. After reports hit of the shellfire in Hoffen, and the fact that authorities have now lost control over the situation, the Federated Commonwealth of Pravengria pushed forward with legislation authorizing the Crown to ''do whatever is necessary'' in order to try and regain control over the republic.

The Emergency Committee has yet to receive an official response from the multi-regional power, but are hopeful that either Pravene or some other foreign power will answer their call.

Influential Berezin Oligarch Dead!

Image
(Recently constructed Talmann Industries, high tech office towers on the northern outskirts of Berezin has now been placed under the control of the Berezin Polity, Peoples Resource Hall)

The highly powerful and secretive Chief Resource Commissioner of the wealthy and influential Talmann Industries Peoples Enterprise, Ion Talmann has been declared dead.

Little is known about how or when this occurred but it is believed the BHO has been involved in some capacity as this startling disclosure came from them.

"We are obviously not being told the full story" said Rita Karbu an investigative journalist working for the Berezin Polity Media Collective "the Peoples Resource Hall have just released documents which I have obtained using freedom of information act. All of Talmann Industries assets have now been listed as the 'Property of the People' placing it under the control of the Peoples Resource Hall"

Ion Talmann was considered by many to be one of the most powerful, wealthiest and influential Bulgislavian's in the last year. His exact wealth is unknown but his powerful Peoples Enterprise, Talmann Industries virtually controlled the city of Berezin for the last sixth months. He even started to get a nickname the "King of Berezin". However little was known of Ion Talmann's personal life, he was highly secretive, was rarely seen in public and reportedly traveled by helicopter most of the time around the Berezin area.

In the last few months the Peoples Resistance Movement, particularly parts of the PRIA began to suspect that he may be connected to Shadow Org. To increase public opinion about him Ion Talmann, Talmann Industries began employing many refugee that were pouring into the city on mass and having them construct massive new apartment blocks which he then gifted to them as rental's and gave them job positions in newly constructed factories, built by cheap refugee labour.

The PR plan backfired then several construction sites began strikes and occupations against "inhuman working conditions" the Trade Union's quickly came to their aide and supported work place occupation. Talmann Industries then pulled out all funding for future residential development and the refugee squatter camps and shanty towns really began to sprawl southwards.

The exact details around his death remain clouded. The BHO have a small trickle of newly disclosed documents which detail a Biohazard that took place in Berezin, at the Talmann Industries HQ Tower. The Peoples Interlink is already buzzing with conspiracy theories ranging from an assassination by the Peoples Interim Administration or that he was killed by Shadow Org for betraying them in some way. It is not known what the exact nature of the Biohazard was but a second victim has been in a critical coma for the last 10 days and is not expected to survive.

"This guy was Shadow Org there's no doubt about it, otherwise why would the Peoples Resource Hall seize all of their assets and turn it into a public industry?" continued Rita Karbu .......more

Gianescu Industries is broken up, executive board is tried in absentia

Image
(Members of the SPEA passed a new resolution with 67% of the vote to dismantle all exposed Shadow Org affiliated Peoples Enterprises and have the Peoples Resource Hall responsible for their fate)

It has not been very widely reported on and intentionally left out of the mainstream media but the elite class CRC of Futuro Technologies and a former employee of Gianescu Industries, Rosalina Gianescu defected to the Peoples Resistance Movement a few months ago, escaping from an attempted Shadow Org assassination attempt due to her role informing for the PRIA. She was apparently escorted by another 'reformed' Shadow Org agent who's identity remains undisclosed.

The young 33 yearold heiress is the daughter to the once powerful Gianescu Senior who was part of the old man's club of cronies that surrounded the late dictator Yegar Provoce from the 1980's up to 2008 when Provoce died. The Gianescu's, like the Lavrov's became powerful families and retained their power even after the 2010 revolution ousted the old Stalinist system. These families were the first to cash in on the new "privatisation" of state controlled assets and were the beginnings of Bulgislavia's class of oligarchs.

However when Gianescu Senior died in late 2010, the Board of Executives of Gianescu Industries felt that the young Rosalina was nothing but an irresponsible spoilt princess. An insider who wishes to remain anonymous says "She was always getting into conflict with the Board of executives, I dont think she liked her fathers cronies very much". As a result of the Board's slights, Rosalina used her immense wealth and resources to form Futuro Technologies with herself at its head. A Peoples Enterprise that was independent of Gianescu Industries. Futuro Technologies has managed to remain out of the PRIA cross hairs thanks largely to its efforts in creating the Crimson Fever inhibitor.

Gianescu Industries however has undergone a not so fortunate fate. As it is now becoming clear that Shadow Org can not regain control of the country, many associates of this dark cabal have fled the country. In fact all of the members of Gianescu Industries Board of Executives are believed to have fled to nearby Stavrapol, north of Bulgislavia. Incriminating evidence came to light shortly after that Gianescu Industries was involved in a secretive "Shadow Financial System" which contained hard to trace black accounts and other underhanded and dodgy financial malpractices.

The SPEA set up a joint commission of inquiry with the Interim Justice Assembly. They have already placed a freeze on all Gianescu Industries Assets and have tried the Board of Executives for treason and perpetuating economic injustice and close association with a criminal terrorist organization. Should they return to Bulgislavia they may face life in prison or possibly even the death penalty which a small but vocal "Retributive Justice Committee" is calling for.

Rosalina Gianescu has not been seen in public in months but is rumored to be held under house arrest and surrounded by armed PRIA operatives .......more

Crecea reports suburban clashes with genocidal Asimovist brigades

The city of Crecea is largely a smoldering ruin, having undergone two intense siege periods within the space of a year and seen mass bombings and human rights atrocities, it has largely been described as a 'hell on Earth' by those unfortunate enough to be trapped in the RPA blockade.

The City of Crecea has seen an 85% population loss, the highest out of anywhere else in Bulgislavia since the revolutions and political upheavals began. Its population is supposedly living on famine rations. Since the large amount of progress the WI coalition and RAFB have made, the shelling of the city has largely stopped as the RPA have moved to defend their vulnerable front lines.

Partisan syndicates and the underground Resistance movement have been smuggling supplies into the city and smuggling survivors out of the city in recent months. Vasily Nishani who is leading a partisan column that has begun operating around the area says that the conditions are desperate and its very dangerous

"The RPA are largely tangled up with the RAFB and WI coalition, they cant hold back the tide, they will be defeated, unfortunatly a lot of retreating RPA, SDC and worst of all the Asimovist Mobilization Brigades are retreating further west and that is bringing them within the boundaries of the newly formed "Free Peoples Polity of Crecea"

The Asimovist mobilization brigades have been the worst serial abusers of human rights and amatuer footage is now emerging on the Peoples Interlink of stadium's full of Asimovist supporters engaging in mass public executions. The RAFB and WI have also uncovered many mass graves as they liberate more areas of the SDC territory

"The Asimovist brigades are fanatical extremists, they are terrorists, genocidal maniacs and we will not rest until this genocidal madness is at an end" said Chairman Igor Rukesku before a session of the newly enlarged Peoples Interim Assembly .......more

Craasi local nudists march in solidarity with New Edom

The Naturists Coop have banded together and staged a Nude Demonstration in central Craasi on the weekend to protest as the "International Discrimination campaign" being waged against New Edom by Raltirian Denethier.

"This nation takes issue with another nation's way of life, a situation Bulgislavia is all too familiar with" stated the deeply respected Oracle of Priesti, Nina Stavrakis who traveled down to Craasi and was in the thick of the demonstration. She was of course referring to Bulgislavia's own incident with international bullies who objected to the values of a society that was its ideological opposite. ......more

Debates in the SPEA chamber start to get heated

Recently elected CPED Nora Firmescu found herself shouting over a microphone to quiet down the chamber of 700 Economic Delegates who were debating the 10 Million Urmi Wealth Cap proposal.

The Communists and the Peoples Enterprise Union are the two opposites and refuse to agree on anything or compromise with each other. The Peoples Enterprise Union is currently split in two camps. One believes there would be no cap for wealth at all and is extremely loud in its condemnation of the new "Economic Tyranny" and calls this a "Desperate act, by a desperate system that seeks to raid the wealth of its citizens to stay afloat!" argued Nicu Vargas who also holds an influential position on the 20 member Peoples Economic Council. The other camp believes the wealth cap is too low. They want it to be raised to 50 Million Urmi and also want a much larger increase to the Maximum Wage Proposal.

The Communists however wont have a bar of it and condemn the "Financial elites" of wanted to defend a system of economic exploitation so they can enjoy their "decadent lifestyles and freedoms to enjoy luxury at the expense of others". They have recently added more tension to the chamber by exposing a list of tax frauds and cheats within the upper classes, even exposing the influential PEU member of renting out 750 properties, even though he has only declared that he owns two houses. The other properties were found to be owned by fake persons with all the rent money being wired to a secret account that was connected to the influential PEU member who has since resigned and is currently before a joint SPEA and Justice Assembly Peoples Economic Court on several economic crime and fraud allegations. His identity remains anonymous. .......more

HAPPY 2ND ANNIVERSARY, GREAT PEOPLE ENLIGHTENMENT REVOLUTION

Image
(A mass Convergence was organized in central Craasi park to celebrate the two year anniversary of the revolutionary social movement)

On October 17th Demonstrations took place in most parts of Bulgislavia to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the "Great Peoples Enlightenment Revolution" the mass social and cultural movement that projected Bulgislavia on the revolutionary path of social transformation. The Demonstrations were quite different from the state sanctioned and organized festivities that were seen last year under Radu Suslov's Revolutionary Republic.
"The spirit of these celebrations are more like what it was like at the very beginning, back in 2011" stated university student Yegar Solemsk who also took part in occupations and demonstrations in 2011.

The Interim Peoples Democracy decided not to sanction officially organized demonstrations
"The Interin Peoples Assembly have thought it best to leave the festivities up to the people" stated Igor Rukesku at a press conference. Some have stated that this is a sign the transitional government wants to distance itself from the revolutionary movement which is also seen by many as the reason for the social upheaval and turmoil, the demonstrations would also act as a barometer for the government to gauge just how popular the movement is with the people.

It was all the way back in late 2011 where discontent at Andrei Bratianu's "Transitional government, dragging its feet on returning power back to the people" that sparked off student demonstrations for immediate elections and a new constitution. The young up and coming Radu Suslov, leader of the Peoples Prosperity Party fanned more discontent and eventually found himself as head of the "Great Peoples Enlightenment Revolution" and more demonstrations and strikes were officially encouraged to "Bring about revolution", within three months Radu Suslov's 'Popular Front' government was brought to power and Bulgislavia officially became the "Revolutionary Republic"

Fast forward two years and the Revolutionary Republic has been officially dissolved, at the tail end of a bloody civil war and almost saw the complete collapse of society. The Interim Peoples Democracy very rarely mentions the "Great Peoples Enlightenment Revolution", but on the streets the people still have very strong views about it.

"We made the mistake of allowing individuals with a lust for power, to high jack the movement for their own political agenda's, this movement was never meant to have a leader, the leader was meant to be the mass of people, the people are the leaders, this was always suppose to be a movement of the people" stated political activist Yulia Sivenda who is an active member of Popular Assemblies and the communal councils.

Despite the so called "high jacking" of the revolutionary movement by ambitious individuals, many speak with pride on the many gains of the movement. The workplace seizures and occupations and the setting up of the Workers Councils, the increased powers of the Trade Unions and the establishment of an economic system that is largely in the control of workers and citizens, this is most evidenced by the Supreme Peoples Economic Assembly which is made up of democratically elected "Economic Delegates".

Other gains were the power of the grass roots and community level 'Popular Assemblies', the newly establishing Communal Councils and the mass Peoples Convergences. Street demonstrations and strikes are common place and are seen as good. In fact Chairman Igor Rukesku stated that "The Peoples Democracy is healthy because there are so many people out on the streets, agitating for so many causes. The political class can not clean up society, the people do a much better job at getting rid of waste then we ever could"

However the pitfalls of the revolution are all too apparent, the civil war which has crippled society, the mass fracturing of the country, its huge number of homeless refugee's and the entrenched power of Bulgislavia's shadowy Intelligence Agency the PRIA which continues to act largely without much oversight and it is well known that physical torture has been used against suspected Shadow Org agents.

Image
(A modest demonstration in Timesna to celebrate two years since the start of the GPER)

The demonstrations in some other parts of the country were a lot more modest, subdued and in some area's non-existent.

"When all those idiots have idea of imposing some kind of Utopic vision of society, its always the ordinary people who suffer! I have lost seven family members and 12 friends in the last year" stated Elena Munychev who fled Terevesti at the outset of the Crimson Fever outbreak last year.

The country faces many problems in the immediate post crisis future as it winds up the last remnants of the Asimovist regime. Many of those most guilty of human rights abuses have either fled the country or have gone missing. Most of Boris Asimov's followers as well as him are believed to be contained in the underground bunker network and Shadow Org are still on the run and will still pose a danger in the future. The nations wealthiest individuals are also fleeing the country along with their wealth and more refugee's and infrustructure damage is still ongoing, although the consensus is that the worst of the disturbance is over.

THE SPEA INTRODUCE AN EMERGENCY "WEALTH EXIT CAP"

Image
(The emergency "Exit Tax" and the Wealth Exit Cap have seen a drastic drop in first class airport passengers leaving Bulgislavia)

Passing with 58% of the vote the SPEA have enacted two emergency measures to stop the exodus of Bulgislavia's elite class and their wealth from leaving the country. The introduction of the Exit Tax has called for 50% of an "Elite class (Anyone earning over the proposed Maximum Wage)" house holds wealth to "Remain in Bulgislavia under the control of the patriotic", this has been introduced in conjunction with a "Wealth Exit Cap" which puts limits on how much wealth an elite class individual to take out of the country if they are permanently emigrating from Bulgislavia. The law stipulates that "No Bulgislavian may take more then 10 Million Urmi out of the country"

The Peoples Enterprise Union led fierce opposition to the bill with Nicu Vargas argueing that "This just continues a vicious trend of attacking the rich, using them as a scapegoat, villainizing and demonizing them, there is no future for them in this country and now the SPEA in all its wisdom wants to make sure there is no future for them outside the country!"

CPED Nora Firmescu responded to the opposition by stating "The rich used the poor as a scapegoat, they villainized and demonized the underdog of our society, they ensured those most worst off in our country had no future, there was no hope for them outside the country. The rich in Bulgislavia are completely delusional and out of touch with the struggles of the revolutionary masses, that's why they are revolutionary! Its time for the elite in our society to pay their fair share!"

Off-Year Elections Have Mixed Results; Both Major Parties Claim Victory

November 6th, 2013 | By Jaden Adler (jadler@provisainsider.com) | 2:41 PM EDT |

PROVISA, New Belhavia — Yesterday's off-year elections of 2013 have electoral victories for all three political parties, yet did not show decisive voter backlash at any one party. Still, the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats each proclaimed victory and suggested yesterday's results gave them "a mandate" for next year's midterm elections.

On Tuesday, voters decided four gubernatorial elections, a slew of local, provincial, and territorial elections, and several mayoral elections in the Empire's largest cities.

Conservatives Won the Largest Share of This Year's Elections

Fresh off a five-month media narrative and attacks by Lib Dems as politically hobbled and in the cross-hairs of a voter backlash over the unpopular A.C.A. foreign policy legacy, Conservatives performed strongly when presented to the voters.

Despite the Provisa establishment's conventional thinking, Conservatives showed the limits of running on foreign policy: in early August, Hank Richman's surprisingly decisive win in what analysts had thought would be a nail-bitingly-close contest for South Dakos province's vacant Imperial Senate seat was simply a harbinger that voters were not as upset with Conservatives as last summer's polls had indicated.

Defending three governor's seats in deeply-conservative Callas, coastal swing-province Braunswig, and left-leaning Kellsmont, Conservative successfully defended two: retaining incumbent Governor Josh Gorgias in Callas with 61%, winning the open Braunswg seat with the charismatic provincial senator Johann Friedlam, and narrowly losing Kellsmont to strong Lib Dem challenger Jack Sedley, the retiring mayor of Kellsmont City, by a 3-point margin, 49% - 46%.

In Kellsmont and Braunswig, Conservatives picked up a raft of local elections and won a few seats from Lib Dems and Libertarians in the provincial Assembly and Senate in each province.

Surprisingly, Conservatives won the four-seat margin they needed to take control of the Far East Territory Senate, but fell three seats short of taking the colony's Assembly.

In a shocking move, Conservative mayoral candidate George Pressman came from behind to win the mayor's office of Kellsmont City with 50.5%, succeeding its outgoing mayor, Governor-elect Sedley.

Lib Dems Hold Anaheim Governor's Mansion, Defeat A.C.A. Stalwart in Kellsmont

In what LDNC spokesman Frank Justian called "a clear victory on foreign policy," Sedley defeated the vulnerable Conservative incumbent, Kellsmont Gov. Eruk Wesleyan, who was a major pro-A.C.A. stalwart allied with Imperial Senator James Gulden (C-Raffen). Conservative operatives defended Wesleyan's narrow loss, suggesting that local - not national - issues drove voter sentiment.

"Jack Sedley ran on bread-and-butter economic issues, not the A.C.A.," Nathaniel Greenfield, a consultant with the Wesleyan campaign, said, "It's pretty ridiculous the [Lib Dems] think they can draw any foreign policy issues out of this...I mean, Sedley won by 3 points...he was ahead by 8 [points] in the last public poll."

Other sources, requesting anonymity, suggested it was an poorly managed campaign by Wesleyan that lost him the race. "Let's be honest, [Gov.] Eruk [Wesleyan] lost to do-nothing [Mayor] Jack Sedley because he f***ed up in his mismanaged campaign. The result was obvious," one insider complained.

Another, a Wesleyan confidant, chalked it up to losing the messaging war. "Sedley won the suburbs, he outraised us 10-1 in fundraising...he had three ads to every one we put up. He defined the Governor before we could defend his record."

In addition to winning the Kellsmont governorship - the first time in 12 years - Lib Dems also successfully defended their incumbent in Anaheim province, Governor Julian Tossen, from a strong challenge by the self-funding wealthy Conservative Kyle Zanotros. Tossen won 52% to Zanotros' 47%, beating back an onslaught of negative ads by the wealthy candidate's campaign.

Jaden Adler reported from Provisa, N.B. None of these organizations are associated with the Kalian Median Group, and all opinions and personal views in the article do not reflect the viewpoints of the KMG or their employees.

Rabbi Greenstein, Imperial Fugitive Responsible For Shelvay Riots, Arrested In Woodsted

Crown Prosecutor: We'll Seek the Death Penalty For the Rabbi's Crimes
November 15th, 2013 | By Justin Hastings (jhastings@aij.org) (AIJ) | 3:44pm EDT

PROVISA, New Belhavia — The man who sparked the three-day violent riots by the religious far right in the Shelvay Islands over mislabeled kosher meat in early September was finally found this morning by Imperial forces in the principality of Woodsted, after nearly two months on the run as an Imperial fugitive facing dozens of charges.

The elder of the Lucius Island Hasidic community reportedly grew fanatical when the Imperial Business Regulatory Agency's Food & Drug Commission audit found that three hundred cases of kosher certified meat products were debased and contained up to 10% of pork parts, which violate both traditional rabbinic and civil statutory laws governing food regulation.

After leading what sources on the ground called an "angry mob" to Ari's, a local Westport historical landmark and neighborhood store, Greenstein's crowd got out of control and started vandalizing the store, and then assaulting several Colonial Constables who arrived shortly thereafter. Emboldened, a confidant to the doctrinaire rabbi claimed that he had a "vision" to punish civil authorities for allowing the "debasement...of [God's dietary] laws." Other ultra-Orthodox members of his community began large-scale riots, targeting the ethnic German community and secular Jews indiscriminately. A few hours in, they armed themselves and besieged overwhelmed police and reservists in the center of the colonial capital city.

By the second day, martial law had been declared and troops from the nearby Fort Kominsky rushed in to dissipate the rioters. By the third day, Imperial Army troops had crushed the rioters holed up in their eastern Westport neighborhoods and restored peace to the streets. However, Rabbi Greenstein was not found, having fled during the previous night. An arrest warrant had been issued, and he was given fugitive status by the Imperial Government.

The Ministry of Justice's Department of Internal Enforcement dispatched agents across the Empire to find the high-profile fugitive, ending in a morning raid in a run-down house in Westin, Woodsted, by D.I.E. agents today.

Shelvay Officials Demand Trial To Be Held In the Tropical Island Colony

Shelvay Governor Zalen Keller (C) released a press statement this afternoon "calling on the Imperial authorities to allow Rabbi Greenstein to stand trial for his crimes where he committed them - here in Shelvay." Reporters heard from the local Shelvay isles' Crown Prosecutor's Office that they'd seek the death penalty for his crimes, among which include treason, inciting a riot, premeditated murder, terrorism, and dozens of other charges. Both the treason and terrorism charges have capital punishment as the sentence.

Settas Shines In National Attention

Senate Majority Leader of the Conservative-led Imperial Senate and likely 2016 presidential contender Ian Settas (C-Provisa) issued a salute to the Shelvay Islands and the D.I.E. this morning at an impromptu press conference, calling Rabbi Greenstein's capture "a great day for justice." He praised D.I.E. agents for their "excellent work in apprehending that vile criminal," and urged the Ministry of Justice to hand the ultra-Hasidic rabbi to local colonial authorities in the Shelvay isles for trial.

In the aftermath of the riots, Settas successfully sponsored and pushed through a new kosher regulation bill that strengthens kosher certification and government regulatory oversight. The bill pleased the broader public and the religious right, both of which were horrified by the lax oversight that allowed for the contamination of kosher meat with pork parts.

However, secular critics on the left blasted the kosher regulation bill as a prop to appease the Hasidic far right in Settas' anticipated presidential campaign. Dieter Falhburg, a spokesman for the Non-Kosher Food Advocacy Group, complained that "the Settas bill severely restricts non-kosher food and creates hardships for many groups, such as ethnic Germans, in Belhavia to eat the food of their conscience, choice, and cultural heritage."

Polls: Far Right Sees Voter Backlash Ahead of 2014 Midterms

Pictured: Embattled pro-A.C.A. hardliner Sen. James Gulden (C-Raffen) faces an uphill re-election effort.

December 1st, 2013 | By Jaden Adler (jadler@provisainsider.com) | 11:09 AM EDT |

PROVISA, New Belhavia — A series of public polling down by the non-partisan Hansen House Research suggests that the remaining Conservative hard right in the Imperial Senate up for re-election in next year's midterms are in trouble, with 5 of the 8 informal so-called "A.C.A. caucus" facing voters in 2014. Almost all of the quadruplet - 4 Conservatives, and one Lib Dem rightist - have underwater poll numbers and are trailing challengers in the general election, and in some cases, in their party's primary.

Targeted: Populist, A.C.A.-Supporting Right-Leaning Senators

Since the A.C.A.'s collapse from internal dissolution and external pressure from nations such as the United Republic of Emmeria last June, the A.C.A. foreign policy legacy has become increasingly unpopular among the broader Belhavian public, though the national anti-communist sentiment has not changed significantly.

Imperial Senators Richard Corwin (C-Westland), Eric Hanswerck (C-Janskor), Dieter Bunneskof (C-Vannen), Xavier Zalos (LD-Asland), and James Gulden (C-Raffen), outspoken proponents during the A.C.A. era of the now-defunct geopolitical anti-communist alliance and advocates of a restored league in its image, all face declining popularity and strong challengers in their 2014 re-election bids.

Hanswerck, an ethnic German from a firmly Conservative-voting border province in the north abutting Germany, would lose to the generic Liberal Democrat in the general election by seven points, 52% - 45%, and fares worse against provincial Governor Friedlam Winters, a popular Lib Dem rightist who announced his Senate candidacy this week and has made Hanswerck's support for the A.C.A. the centerpiece of his campaign. Against Winters, Hanswerck loses by twelve points, 55% - 43%.

The lone A.C.A. supporter left among the Liberal Democrats, Zalos trails his primary challenger George Kaplan, by ten points: 45% - 35%. Kaplan, an investment banker, has poured millions of his own funds into running TV ads hitting Zalos for his firm pro-A.C.A. and rightist national security hawk credentials, positioning himself to the left on security issues, a popular position in the liberal-leaning Asland province.

If Zalos won the primary, he would run neck-and-neck with moderate Conservative Josh Gold, mayor of Asland's largest city of Bukenia. Hansden House has Zalos behind by two points to Gold, 41% - 39%. Gold has emphasized "restraint abroad" in foreign policy in a new cable TV ad he launched last month.

Bunneskof, from the northwestern province of Vannen, has remained above-water due to a series of public events and a new broadcast TV ad where he focuses on economic bread-and-butter issues. Still, his likely Lib Dem opponent Nadia Volkov is with striking distance in this deeply-conservative province, behind Bunneskof by only nine points, 44% - 35%.

Corwin, in the swing province of Westland, is the only pro-A.C.A. senator who is in the clear so far. He out-polls his primary opponent, perennial contender Benjamen Carr, by a crushing 66% - 9%. In the general election, he's firmly ahead of Lib Dem provincial senator Frank Justlop by 15 points, 49% - 34%.

The most well-known and outspoken of the hardliners, Gulden, is trailing his Lib Dem opponent Karen Markel by single digits in the Raffen province, one of the most conservative areas of the Empire. A recent Werz-Oplis Strategies poll had Gulden behind Merkal by two, 45% - 47%. The Hansen House poll had Gulden behind by four, 44% - 40%.

Midterms Hold Benefits, Risks For Each Party

With 23 seats up for re-election next November, the Senate chamber is potentially in play. However, the Lib Dems would need to pickup 9 seats to win a slim 1-vote majority, a scenario that non-partisan political handicappers believe is unrealistic. The Conservatives entered the 111th session of the Imperial Senate with a commanding 16-seat majority, the largest in 42 years with 41 seats to the Lib Dems' 25 and the Libertarians' 4; only matched by a similar majority but reversed, favoring the Lib Dems, in 1970.

Nathan Filner, a non-partisan political prognosticator at the Provisa Herald, rates three seats as Tossups (Raffen, Freeport, and Asland), one as Lean Lib Dem (Janskor), and two as Lean Conservative (Westland, Vannen). The remaining 17 seats are rated as Likely or Safe Lib Dem or Conservative.

Experts predict Raffen, Janskor, and Vannen will flip to the Liberal Democrats, while Conservatives will pickup the Freeport seat from a retiring Lib Dem senator.

Asland is a conditional tossup: if Zalos loses his primary, his challenger is favored to retain the seat for the Lib Dems and add another reliable liberal to the Lib Dem caucus, replacing the more conservative Zalos. If Zalos wins his primary, he will likely lose the general election to Josh Gold, who would align as a libertarian Conservative, adding to their growing clout in the Capitol.

The Lib Dems are expected to pickup at least 2 or three seats, however, all the serious contenders are more right-leaning candidates who would strengthen the centrist ("rightist") wing of the national Liberal Democratic Party. Lib Dem Senate Minority Leader John Fellan of Merrina, a staunch left-leaning liberal, would see his policy agenda weakened even though his party caucus's numbers in the Senate will likely grow by the pickup of several Conservative seats.

In reverse, the Conservatives would like pickup Freeport with candidate-in-waiting Jacen Gray. They would lose several controversial and gaffe-prone members, such as Raffen's James Gulden, but would likely see a reduced grassroots turnout by base voters who are galvanized and turn out to vote because of members such as Gulden or Bunneskof. A drop-off in Empire-wide Conservative voter turnout could put other, safer seats in play.

Jaden Adler reported from Provisa, N.B. None of these organizations are associated with the Kalian Median Group, and all opinions and personal views in the article do not reflect the viewpoints of the KMG or their employees.

Report: Levantian Communist Autocracies' Long-Term Economic Potential "Near Zero"

Levalon: "Tyranny Continues Unabated In Central Levantia"
December 8th, 2013 | By Justin Hastings (jhastings@aij.org) (AIJ) | 2:09pm EDT

PROVISA, New Belhavia — A new academic report released today slammed the repressive conditions in Central Levantia, analyzing projected economic potential and the sociopolitical landscape of the region's last duo of Communist dictatorships. A research team lead by Professor Samuel Rosenburg, the chief economist at the prestigious Westlander Finance Group and a prominent advocate of neoliberal policies, conducted a series of interviews with refugees and expatriates fleeing impoverishment and political oppression in Bulgislavia and Strolingrad as well as analyzed economic indicators for projected, decade-long estimates of economic potential for those same regimes.

"Central Levantia's long-term growth is effectively zero," Professor Rosenburg asserted firmly. "The lack of adequate institutions for credit and coinage, the absence of a functioning market economy, and backwards, pre-modern notions of a collectivist society that downplays the role of the individual have closed these areas off from any real potential for economic growth and its subsequent benefits, leaving that part of Levantia doomed to perpetual poverty as long as the current system stays in power."

Mr. Devin Braunstein, an adjutant professor of economic statistics at Vannen Provincial University and a collaborator in the Rosenburg Report, concurred. "Following the establishment of a so-called 'wealth exit cap', which attempted to confiscate the wealth and assets of Buglislavia's most successful and productive citizens, along with political and ideological repression, has induced a rapid flight of those same individuals from that failing autocracy. The remaining bastion of economic potential left in [Buglislavia] has, for all intents and purposes, vacated the country. No growth-generating economic actors or institutions remain."

Professor Braunstein noted that many of the wealthy exiles and expatriates were able to secret their vast wealth and collected assets out of the country in the chaos of the provisional state socialist regime, successfully circumventing the new economic repressive measures aimed at stealing the wealth of the former upper strata of Buglislavian society to be redistributed by the state. "Tens of millions in assets and liquid credit were safely rescued from the clutches of the Communist regime," one economist who analyzed capital flight from the autocracies claimed. "Those funds can be reinvested in the broader Tyrrhenian market and deny the new regime access to international markets."

Foreign Ministry: Exiles Resettle in New Belhavia, Given Asylum Visas

The report noted that hundreds of Buglislavian and Strolingradi elite had reached safety within Imperial borders. The Foreign Ministry responded to an inquiry, explaining that "due to their aggrieved status with domestic internal repression at home and the threat to their lives and property under a leftist dictatorship, we were authorized under guidelines by the Safety for Refugees of Communism Act (S.R.C.A.) passed this August to admit them in an expedited nature."

Michael Levalon, the Deputy Foreign Minister for Tyrrhenian Affairs who has served as the Goldman administration's point man on Levantian geopolitics and a frequent critic of the pair of far left autocracies, argued that "the [Rosenburg] Report is another clear sign that tyranny continues unabated in Central Levantia. Only regime change will alter the outcome and stagnation there."

Several prominent Buglislavian exiles and expatriates have formed an opposition group and lobbying outfit called the Free Levantia Movement, dedicated to the current regime's ouster and replacement by a liberal democratic capitalist model. The FLM has also served as a staging area for the newly-arrived exiles, a foundation for them to build a community in New Belhavia.

Rosenburg: Communist Regimes Cut Off From International Markets

The report concluded that the Buglislavian and Strolingradi regimes were "without pretense excluded from normal market activities, a virtual death sentence in terms of any hopes they have of an economic recovery." It analyzed the various economic sanctions levied by the Empire, Germany, and others, stating unequivocally that the duo of crisis-ridden regimes "lacked any coherent presence in international [capitalist] markets" and relied on "alternative socialist distribution networks from their [Workers International] allies...with perverse economic incentives and a heavy-handed state monopoly, the prospects for any economic growth, no matter how anemic or marginal, is effectively nil."

Professor Rosenburg suggested that "these regimes have an unworkable system that is still in shock from over two years of devastation and disruption...the people of central Levantia are trapped by forces of a vicious ideology that deny basic empirical economic facts. The long-term economic potential of two entire peoples are barren. It's a tragedy."

Justin Hastings reported from Provisa, N.B. None of these organizations are associated with the AIJ, and all opinions and personal views in the article do not reflect the viewpoints of the AIJ or their employees.

NATION MOBILIZES FOR RECONSTRUCTION

Image
(Slum's continue to grow and expand south of Berezin, Bulgislavia's "Richest city", due to rapid rate of arriving refugee's from the countries devastated central polities)

Several reports released by the Supreme Peoples Economic Assembly raised some serious issues of the fragile economic state of the country.

"The economy has been totally ravaged by war and conflict, we have up to 11 million homeless and 8.6 million internally displaced citizens as well as 5.1 million who have fled the country as refugee's. The conflict is estimated to have claimed 6.7 million, most of which were from the Crimson Fever..... either way we are dealing with extreme problems that we cant ignore and that we must work to solving immediatly" state Chief Peoples Economic Delegate Nora Firmescu before a session of the SPEA.

The Reports released by the SPEA dealt with the nations energy concern - the "Interim Decision" has been to introduce a temporary energy ration, limiting how many watt's a household can use least they incur higher tax penalties as well as late night black outs in the major cities. The five year plan currently being drafted by the SPEA has called for the nation to solve its energy needs by the end of the plan and have marked out several area's of the country for Hydro Power construction plans as well as some "temporary" coal power stations

Another report focused on food shortages, especially in the central polities where extremists Asimovists poisoned/stole livestock, burnt crops and pillaged agricultural peasant communities and villages. The SPEA disclosed that there was enough emergency food supplies to give every Bulgislavian one three square meals a day for 12 months, after that food rationing would have to be introduced to one square meal per Bulgislavian a day. The SPEA voted to apply for food aide from the Workers International while the nation's agricultural system undergoes extensive reform and modernization. Its role in the five years plans has called for a focus on diary, cereals and grains and hope to reach pre-war agricultural output by the end of the first five year plan by December 31st 2018, however critics cite this as an "unrealistic goal"

The most damaging report concerns the extreme level of homelessness and damage to cities and infrastructure with reconstruction costs estimated to be 800 billion Urmi (in the low end) to 1.9 trillion Urmi in the high end. The first five year plan calls for the construction of 2.5 million state houses in the first five year plan (The most the Bulgislavian state could afford without swallowing up funds for other reconstruction projects). One solution has been made by the Peoples Enterprise Union (the bloc of 'capitalists' who control the wealthy Peoples Enterprises). The SPEA has passed resolution "United objectives", which calls on the whole nation to have the united objective to eradicate homelessness by the end of the first five year plan. A new "Dwelling construction tax" has been introduced on Peoples Enterprises where a portion of their profits must go into home creation in a cautiously regulated private housing market. However the state/SPEA does have control's on the private housing market, it can subsidies and regulate rents and house prices to prevent "Oppressive landlord-ism from private individuals"

The expensively generous Resource Distribution Network was approved funding for all its running costs for the first five year plan. This takes up a large chunk of Bulgislavia's expenditure and generously provides every Bulgislavian house hold with a week's worth of foodstuff's. Citizens registered to the network are issued with weekly ration cards that can be redeemed for food resources such as vegetables, bread, milk, flour and other baking supplies. Even though the network of Resource Hall's and Distribution Centers report low supplies and shortages the SPEA has committed itself to funding this generous aspect of Bulgislavia's "Peoples Economic System" for at least another five years.

The National Rehabilitative and Restorative Council which has been given control of all the nations prison's, work camps and penal colonies and communes reports that around 4.5 million prisoners are available to "Compensate the nation for their crimes", many are POW's, Asimovist collaborators and Shadow Org agents, most have 10 year sentences while others have 5 year sentences. They have immediately been marched to area's of the country to begin massive public works, construction projects and mining operations working 10 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week. They are not paid but do have their accommodation and food freely supplied to them. With this massive reserve of cheap and easily available manpower the SPEA has included them in the draft of the First Five Year plan under a special chapter entitled "Those guilty of destroying the country must find redemption in rebuilding it", the SPEA quickly passed another resolution making it legal to integrate Bulgislavia's Justice system with the Economic system, allowing Bulgislavia's economy to draw on manpower that would otherwise languish in prisons.

ANARCHIST PRIESTI CALLS FOR ALL 'AGENTS OF THE SYSTEM' TO LEAVE THE POLITY

Image
(The Revolutionary Peoples Polity of Priesti has dedicated itself to its "Revolutionary Anarchist Action Plan" adopted at the Polities 1st of December Stadium Convergence)

Revolutionary Priesti was found in mid 2012 during the tumultuous months of Radu Suslov and Omar Milea's Popular Front Government of the Revolutionary Republic of Bulgislavia. The province had a population of over 12 million and anarchist sentiment was extremely high. Black Bloc demonstrations, strikes and work place seizures and the "Dismantlement of Hierarchy" became common place, The campaign to abolish currency originated in Priesti when all the banks were stormed and currency was piled into the streets and burnt. The city has refused to trade in money ever since.

Rather then face a crackdown by the central government, Bulgislavia's then eccentric "Revolutionary" leader Radu Suslov congratulated Priesti on undergoing a "Great Peoples Emancipation from control systems" and celebrated with people in Priesti's streets during a highly publicized trip to the rebellious city where he praised Priesti as the "End point of the Bulgislavian Peoples Revolution".

Radu Suslov's praise and acceptance of the anarchist movement took a lot of people by surprise and most probably contributed to the BLA crisis of old style traditionalists who believed Radu Suslov was intentionally destroying the country.

When Radu Suslov resigned as Bulgislavia's Supreme Representative and he was convicted of the murder of Humar Manici in late 2011 he was then carted off to a Penal Commune outside Craasi. He has since only spoken publicly once since his arrest
http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=261435&hilit=Bulgislavia

After Suslov's resignation and Boris Asimov assumed the position of Supreme Representative, a lot of time was invested in undermining Anarchist Priesti which began the first rise of tension between the government and the revolutionary city, Priesti quickly began a resistance capital and the first few months of the civil war it was where the Resistance leaders co-ordinated their war against the genocidal Asimovist regime.

A "Compromise Convergence Manifesto" was adopted in which the people would temporarily allow foriegn and domestic troop's and agents to set up defensive bases around Priesti to defend it from Asimovist take over. Now that the civil war is largely at an end a stadium convergence was held on December 1st in which the resolution "Expulsion of the Agents of the System" from the Priesti Polity was passed with 85% of the "Mass vote"

"We fought hard to emancipate ourselves from the establishment, we are grateful for their help in defending us from the Asimovists but at the same time they are part of the very control systems that perpetuate war and control in the first place, so its a case of "Thank you for your help, now please leave" stated an anonymous convergence goer

Revolutionary Priesti is mainly protected and supported by Bulgislavia's vast network of Partisan fighters who contributed greatly against the Asimovist regime. If the Interim government handles the Priesti situation in the wrong way they may antagonize Bulgilsavia's Partisan's leading to further conflict. However Chairman Igor Rukesku spoke publicly that he has the utmost respect to "Our revolutionary hero's!" and the organization "Syndicated Partisan's" look set to see some of their members elected to the Constituent assembly and are expected to be major players in Bulgislavia's post-crisis government system, working in co-operation with the Revolutionary Armed Forces Of Bulgislavia, the nations official military.

When walking around Priesti you can ask anybody about the election of a Constituent assembly and the future prospect of a "Plurinational Peoples State", most Priesti residents will repeat a common and popular slogan "Who ever they vote for, we are ungovernable"

Image
(Graffiti in many Bulgislavian cities express contempt for the wealthy and ruling classes of the country, this symbol was common on protests around Airports along with "So long upper class filth" slogans when many upper class Bulgislavian's began to flee the country around the time of the Wealth Exit Cap and Wealth Cap and high progressive tax policies began to lead to a raiding of wealth for the countries upper classes)

Responding to the creation of "Counter-revolutionary" expat groups that are established themselves in New Belhavia, Chairman of the Interim Peoples Assembly Igor Rukesku balked at the "Handful of spoilt selfish brats that are angry as being forced to help their fellow man out of poverty" and condemned any "Ani-people" network as traitors. All Bulgislavian expats that are known to be part of these anti-revolution groups have since had their citizenship revoked and have been warned to stay out of Bulgislavia least they face arrest. Chairman Igor Rukesku has instructed the Interim Peoples Justice Assembly to look into charging these individuals for Treason in absentia and the PRIA have officially classified them as "Foriegn spies under the patronage of the Anti-Bulgislavian regime of New Belhavia"

One expat Vera Talmann (estranged sister of deceased Berezin Oligarch, Ion Talmann) who fled to Stavropol after her brothers death and has applied for asylum in both Stavropol and is in contact with expats in New Belhavia lashed out at Bulgislavia's provisional government in online rants. In one she said some of the more well known and wealthiest expats were receiving letters of intimidation from the PRIA that threatened harm would come to family members who remain in Bulgislavia unless they return to "face the justice of the people", others have received death threats while some report that the PRIA are spying on them and most probably keeping their family members in Bulgislavia under constant surveillance.

THE INTERNATIONAL HEALERS FEDERATION LEAVES FOR SAN DOMINGO

Image
(The IHF humanitarian aid ship the Genteralia departed from Bulgislavia's leased port on the Sozopolian coast to San Domingo, yesterday)

In support of San Domingo's revolutionary struggle and a message of solidarity with its people, Bulgislavia's main Humanitarian NGO the International Healders Federation (IHF) have commissioned a humanitarian mission to the country. This is contrasted with rumors that the "Revolutionary Recruitment Organization" in Priesti was recruiting volunteer's for the San Domingo conflict with the aim of spreading the great "Peoples Revolutions" to the world.

Little information exists, however Bulgislavia's provisional government stated that it does not endorse or recognize any side in the conflict, that it is completely neutral and wishes the IHF all the best in its humanitarian efforts to help the people of San Domingo.

Basara: FLM dedicated to establishing liberal democracy
in Bulgislavia
Oured, D.A., UNITED REPUBLIC (UP) — Secretary of State Lana Basara announced Sunday afternoon that the Free Levantia Movement (FLM), a non-governmental organization formed by Bulgislavian expats and refugees, was added to the list of NGOs receiving United Republic democratic endowments following Congressional approval.

In a unanimous vote, a joint Congressional committee overseeing the United Republic National Fund for Democracy (NFD) approved the action, with a committee spokesman calling it "an obvious and overdue action" during a media conference. The NFD is a nonprofit U.R. federal government organization under the U.R. State Department that uses soft power to promote democracy across the globe, particularly by funding NGOs like the Free Levantia Movement.

The move was part of a series of foreign policy reforms aimed at targeting repression by the eastern Tyrrhenian country. U.R. officials recently passed a series of sanctions on Bulgislavia and Strolingrad, following major Tyrrhenian powers New Belhavia and the German Empire in doing so. Additionally, the State Department initiated the Home Away From Home program to make applications for U.R. asylum or refugee visas more accessible, particularly in countries like Bulgislavia that endure significant government censorship of the Internet. SelectURE, a Commerce Department agency intended to promote foreign investment in Emmerian firms, offered Emmerian companies incentives to invest in businesses surrounding Bulgislavia and Strolingrad, hoping to reduce the potential for communist revolutions there.

The Free Levantian Movement was formed by Bulgislavian refugees determined to remove the current regime. After coming into power, the Bulgislavian provisional government instituted a series of reforms abridging civil liberties throughout the country, targeting political dissidents opposing the communist movement. In response, an estimated 5 million people fled the country, with many finding asylum in the United Republic, New Belhavia, and other anti-communist powers.

Bulgislavian economy doomed?

Bulgislavian state-controlled media reported that the government was already planning on a series of endeavors focused on repairing the country's ravaged economy. The economic modernization program is centered around "reach[ing] pre-war agricultural output by the end of the first five year plan by December 31st, 2018", according to Bulgislavian state media.

However, skeptics were not convinced, with many critics calling these goals "unrealistic". A report released by a research team at the Westlander Finance Group in New Belhavia slammed the abysmal economic climate in central Levantia, calling it an environment where economic prosperity is impossible.

"Central Levantia's long-term growth is effectively zero," chief economist Professor Samuel Rosenburg, head of the research team, told reporters at Question Time.

In response, Bulgislavian officials lambasted the reports. Chairman of the Bulgislavian Interim Peoples' Assembly Igor Rukesku called the report's publishers a "[h]andful of spoilt [sic] selfish brats that are angry as being [sic] forced to help their fellow man out of poverty", according to Bulgislavian state media. All suspected members or sympathizers of the Free Levantia Movement had their citizenship revoked, were declared "[f]oriegn [sic] spies under the patronage of the Anti-Bulgislavian regime of New Belhavia", and were warned to stay away from the downtrodden country by Bulgislavian government-run media services.

The Bulgislavian government continued to utilize unconventional measures to oppose the FLM. According to Bulgislavian-Stravopolian refugee Vera Talmann, well-known expats "were receiving letters of intimidation from the [Bulgislavian intelligence agency] that threatened harm would come to family members who remain in Bulgislavia unless they return to 'face the justice of the people'" (despite being "warned to stay out of Bulgislavia" in the same article). Others received death threats or now face constant government surveillance, and are concerned for their families, many of which remain trapped in Bulgislavia.

In response to those reports, U.R. Secretary of State Lana Basara vitriolically called the Bulgislavian government a "maniacal, tyrannical institution designed solely to cause undue harm to innocent people." During the same press conference, she called on Congress to pass stricter sanctions, referring to them as a necessary measure to "pressure the Bulgislavian regime to reduce its immense oppression and tyranny."

"The people of Bulgislavia will never be at peace until they have a reliable, transparent, and free government," she said. "They have the right to alter or abolish a government that is unable to protect them from its own tyranny. And we will do everything we can to make sure they are able to exercise that right."

UP's Kader Tarek and Donald Voortman contributed to this report.

RISTEV IS LIBERATED, RPA SURRENDERS

Image
(The city of Ristev was liberated at 7:26am this morning when the last of the RPA surrendered to the RAFB in their last hold out in the heavily bombed CBD of Ristev)

At 7:26am the last RPA soldiers threw down their weapons and emerged from Ristev city hall with their hands up after over 4 hours of street fighting and bombings around the building. The RAFB and WI coalition troop's moved in and secured the city. The city had held out for 9 days as fanatical Asimovist brigades and the last of the RPA fought to keep the city under their control despite the fact they had completely lost the country.

This formerly brings to an end the civil war, however at a press conference Chairman of the provisional government Igor Rukesku was quick to mention the continued threat of Shadow Org, the remaining members of the Asimovist regime who are locked down in emergency bunkers as well as the continual threat of foreign invasion by Tyrrhenia's more militant, imperialist powers.

"Now is not the time for complacency, now is the time for heightened vigilance" he said.

All POW's in the civil war are now undergoing an intense screening test to find the worst abusers of human rights and war criminals. However it has not been decided if the death penalty will be meted out to any of those found guilty. Humar Manici's "Popular Unity" government officially abolished the death penalty in late 2010 when 64% of the vote called for the death penalty to be totally abolished
http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=75343&hilit=bulgislavia+death+penalty

Some idea's being chucked around is another referendum to be held on the fate of war criminals and serial abusers of human rights, while others call for these criminals to be submitted to an established international court to potentially face the death penalty abroad.

Despite Bulgislavia's abolition of the death penalty three years ago, there is ample example of extra judicial killings and politically motivated violence among the countries various extremist groups which the Provisional Government is doing its best to crack down on.

Some members of the "Free Levantia Movement" made up mostly of Bulgislavian refugee's and expats made the outrageous claim that the PRIA engages in targeted assassinations with a secret program of death. A Spokesperson of the PRIA has stated that the organization gathers intelligence in the fight against Shadow Org and that any accusation of a secret program of targeted assassination is completely slanderous and untrue.

Image
(The Provisional governments recruitment drive for border guards has seen a sharp increase in border security and a crack down on those fleeing the country illegally)

To stem the tide of illegal border crossings the Provisional government has recruited an extra 10,000 border guards as well as allocated some 20,000 RAFB soldiers to the task of greater border security and protection. The Provisional Assembly stated that this measure was to put an end to human traffickers and people smugglers as well as ease the humanitarian strains being placed on Bulgislavia's neighbors.

Bulgislavian's wishing to leave the country will now have to apply for an Exit permit from both the PRIA and the internal affairs department of their Local Polity in which they reside, an SPEA economic affairs delegate would also need to be notified to ensure wealth was not being illegally smuggled out of the country with back ground check's on all Bulgislavian's leaving.

"Peoples smugglers are not the only threat to our borders, but there are also those hoping to flee from justice, the genocidal Asimovists who are fleeing abroad because they know the people they terrorized are baying for blood!" stated Chairman Igor Rukesku

The PRIA have released pages of names of suspected human rights abusers and war criminals that are suspected to have fled over sea's, some names also corolate with a few members of the Free Levantia Movement which the Provisional government has been quickly to disclose and latch on to in the hopes of tarnishing and discrediting the anti-government organizations. Despite no extradition treaty existing between Bulgislavia and New Belhavia, the Bulgislavian government have called for the immediate extradition of:
Omar Kakarni
Jan Permencu
Felix Voslav
Ulrich Sharbin

All four are accused by the Bulgislavian government of participating in crimes against the people, genocide, destruction of property and sexual assault.

The PRIA have also added the United Republic to the black list of "States that engage with anti-Bulgislavian terrorists" and "Fund counter-revolutionary, anti-people groups"

POLITY AFFILIATION ELECTIONS IN PROCESS
http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=274779&hilit=Bulgislavia

Image
(Election posters adorn some campaign vehicles in the city of Neren)

With Igor Rukesku's revolutionary "Empowered Polities Act" which was introduced earlier this year, the internal political boundaries have changed from 10 centralized republics into 155 decentralized polities. This basic political structure is set to become the back bone of the future revolutionary political system of the Plurinational Peoples State. It was called the "City state solution" and was believed to be the answer to the countries turmoil which was instead of centralizing the country to prevent it breaking apart, the answer was to decentralize which was also in line with the main theme of the peoples revolution which was the "equitable re-distribution of political power" by "Dissolving power down to the masses" and fully realize the vision of Bulgislavia becoming a true "State of the masses"

Various political organizations have been campaigning for months while others are quickly pooling their resources now and have begun campaigning. The election results are expected to be announced by 1st January 2014 with the next Polity Affiliation elections to take place on December 31st 2018.

The elections are extremely important and will establish the nations post crisis internal, political fault lines as Bulgislavia's 155 polities elect to align their polity with one of the major polity leagues or unions.

The main organizations taking place in the election are

RED BLOC POLITIES
With the strongest support in the Craasi, Ipok and Ureyn polities and currently polling at 48% nation wide it is set to have the strongest affiliation of polities. They have a radical leftist agenda to continue on with the Peoples Revolution as well as facilitate wealth and resource redistribution and a mass program of mobilization to rebuild the country.

PEOPLES ENTERPRISE LEAGUE
Is the next most popular organization, polling at 36%, Berezin is seen as a safe Polity for this organization. All Polities that affiliate with the Peoples Enterprise League have established that they will commit to market economics and become "Special economic zones" within Bulgislavia. However the SPEA has already raised the issue of a "Prosperous Polity Tax" which will ensure the wealthiest Polities will allocate a percentage of their profits to Bulgislavia's poorest polities

PEOPLES DEMOCRACY LEAGUE
Coming in at third, polling nationally at 9%, polities affiliated with the Peoples Democracy League support the peoples revolution and will most likely side with the Red Bloc polities in most issues, however they are more moderate then Red Bloc. They are strongly campaigning of holding Bulgislavia to the "Highest standards of transparency and human rights".

Both the MOVEMENT TOWARD UNION and the CONFEDERATE ALLIANCE are both polling at 4% each with both of these factions charting opposing visions of the post crisis political set up. The Movement Towards Union wants a more centralized "Stable" federation while the Confederate Alliance wants to continue empowering polities with a decentralized confederation.

The SYNDICATED PARTISANS and SPIRITUAL POLITIES are not taking part in elections but they have a strong following in Polities that have stated that they will not participate in the Polity Affiliation elections for "Spiritual, philosophical and political reasons"

These polities are the Carmacesti and Semune Polities which are in the process of dismantelling traditional systems of government and hierarchy and implementing a "spiritually focused" society with the strong influence of both the Shamanic Collective and the Oracles Union of Bulgslavia.

While the anarchist polities of Giero, Abarsov, Siparas and Priesti have begun aligning with the Syndicated Partisan's along with some 15 "Partisan Republics" scattered around Bulgislavia's central and northern regions

Voting closes on December 31st

POLITY AFFILIATION ELECTION RESULTS ARE IN

Image
(A volunteer set's up polling booths in the Naradia Polity)

The Results of the Polity Affiliation Election's
http://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=274779&hilit=bulgislavia
have now been publicly announced and the new internal, political order in the country has been established for the next five years (The next polity affiliation elections to take place on 31st December 2018)

The Elections took place in 146 of Bulgislavia's 155 polities. (9 polities "Respectfully declined" to participate in the elections for "Spiritual, Philosophical and Political" reasons)

The Results for Polity Affiliation are:

Peoples Enterprise League = 50% of the vote (73 polities)
Red Bloc = 35% of the vote (52 polities)
Peoples Democracy League = 7% of the vote (10 polities)
Confederate Alliance = 5% of the vote (7 polities)
Movement Toward Union = 3% of the vote (4 polities)

Many people were quite shocked at the outcome as the first half of the election saw Red Bloc in the lead polling at over 50%. In the last fortnight of the elections the popularity and support for the Peoples Enterprise League began to surge ahead.

"It helped their campaign significantly that the countries largest Peoples Enterprises poured money into new constructions in the undecided and wavering polities" stated election commentator Yuri Manescu

At rallies held in Peoples Enterprise strong holds some high profile guests and oligarchs made public appearances.

Enrico Lavrov was a guest speaker at a Peoples Enterprise rally in the Craasi polity (which voted to affiliate with Red Bloc). There he launched his "Anti-Toture Group" and donated 1 millon Urmi to "Human Rights Watch Bulgislavia".

CEO's and Resource Commissioners from other leading peoples Enterprises also took part in election ralleys such as those from Cybernetic Insights, Genesis Pharmakea and Futuro Technologies (Although its chief operator Rosalina Gianescu did not make an appearance instead remaining under house arrest in an undisclosed location pending her trial in which she is charged with engaging in bio-terrorism as well as a host of other treason charges).

The Polity elections also saw the election of hundreds of new "Polis Assemblies" which are being described as "polity parliaments who advocate for their Polity on the national level"......... more

THE SUPREME PEOPLES ECONOMIC ASSEMBLY ISSUES AN EMERGENCY CRISIS EDICT

In response to the extreme number of homeless refugee's, CPED Nora Firmescu stated at a press conference that the Western Ridges Emergency Bunker network located in the mountains west of Berezin will be opened up to homeless refugee's.

Berezin's population has swelled since the start of the civil war (the city had a population of 10 million), by the end of the civil war it is estimated that the population is now 13.6 million.

The Berezin emergency bunker network was constructed in a 15 year period between 1980 and 1995 and it was designed to save 2.5 million citizens in the event of a nuclear war. This was during the reign of paranoid dictator Yegar Provoce who ruled Bulgislavia from 1963 to 2008.

"Berezin will be unique in that almost 20% of the cities population will be living underground" said Nora Firmescu at the press conference.

The Military stationed in the Berezin Polity (Which was the Peoples Enterprise League stronghold in the Polity Affiliation elections) have been moved in to help faciliate the relocation of homeless refugee's from the sprawling southern slum of Upaku and into the Bunker network. CPED Nora Firmescu was quick to point out that accepting shelter in the bunker network was a voluntary choice on the part of the "displaced person" and that if anybody wants to relocate to the bunker they must apply at a "Shelter Relief Station" operated by the humanitarian NGO 'International Healers Federation' (IHF)......... more

THE BHO BEGIN LIFTING THE TEREVESTI QUARANTINE

Image
10 Military security checkpoints and imposing concrete barrier's lines the only authorized path for authorized specialists into the city

The Bulgislavian Health Agency has begun making the first step's to lifting the Terevesti Quarantine by now permitting "Authorized Specialist's" into military guarded buses to secured parts of the city to begin the mass re-inhabitation of the city after the catastrophic Crimson Fever bio-terrorist attack.

Previously only "Authorized Medical Professional's, Scientists and Hazmat trained military soldiers and civil defense co-ordinators" were permitted into the Terevesti Quarantine. The relaxation of restrictions also saw a specially approved bus of civilian photographers and journalists from various media sources permitted operate in approved zones under military escort.

Despite the announcement by the BHO that all Crimson Fever infected inside the Terevesti Quarantine were now dead, there is still the very real risk of re-infection or another outbreak. Despite the city being doused by large tanker trucks containing bleech and other disinfectants multiple times, absolutely no area's of the city have been cleared for "Civilian re-inhabitation"

"The Interim Peoples Government in Craasi will most likely not move the capital back to Terevesti until at least early to mid 2015" stated Chief for the BHO Mihail Donescu.

In other Crimson Fever related news the BHO have disclosed accurate satellite maps of the full extent of the Dushov Exclusion zone. A result of the Asimovist regime's policy of initiating Crimson Fever outbreaks in area's being lost to the Workers International and Interim Peoples Government. Large concrete barrier's have been erected around the perimeter.

"I'm not surprised the exclusion zone is that big, I know many partisan comrades who lost their lives crossing through those area's, what the Asimovist regime did was horrible" stated Dan Oltescu a partisan fighter who crossed through the infected area's during the civil war (Mar - Dec 2013) .......... more

VOICE OF THE PEOPLE

AUTHORITIES FAIL TO ARREST CONTROVERSIAL POLITY CHIEF ACCUSED OF WAR CRIMES

Image
(Thousands surround and occupy the home of recently elected Polity Chief, Tomas Sarchek of the Temyenko Polity)

The war torn industrial polity of Temyenko which saw heavy fighting in last years civil war recently elected a Red Bloc dominated Polis Assembly which in turn designated Tomas Sarchek as the Polity Chief for a 5 year term during the Polity Affiliation Elections.

Tomas Sarchek served in the Underground Resistance movement while Asimov's genocidal regime controlled the area, he fought along side the Revolutionary Armed Forces for the liberation of Bulgislavia from the Asimovist regime and quickly came to prominence as a new, fresh faced rising star within Bulgislavia's post-war social set up.

However it has recently emerged from both eye witness accounts as well as grainy, unverified footage circulating on Urimesc (Bulgislavia's equivalent of Youtube) which show Tomar Sarchek kill five unarmed prisoners at point blanc in the back of the head, the prisoner's were supposedly fanatical Asimovist Brigade members who were caught attempting to burn down an apartment full of citizens taking shelter from the fighting.

Documents that have been leaked to the unauthorized disclosures site "Enaka Pokest" also reveal that the PRIA were "Deeply troubled" by the revelations and recommended that the Interim government forcibly remove all accused war criminals from public office until proper investigations commence.

The issue has quickly become a hot topic with debates raging around Tomas Sarchek and other newly elected individuals that have the cloud of "War criminal" hanging over their heads. The Bulgislavian Electoral Committee blames the Interim government for pushing through with elections on a tight deadline before the country was ready and before the Electoral Committee had time to investigate the backgrounds of all the candidates who stood in the Polity Affiliation Elections.

However many of Mr Sarchek's supporters believe that this is merely a smear campaign by the Interim Government and is an example of Chairman Rukesku's intimidation tactics over Bulgislavia's polities and claim that by arresting Tomas Sarchek the central government would undermine the free people of the Temyenko Polity and invalidate their votes

"Some people may disagree with what Comrade Sarchek did, but those men he killed were going to keel hundreds of innocents who were taking shelter in that apartment building, I saw the whole thing, those monsters deserved to die and no one had the guts to do the deed except Comrade Sarchek" said Olivia Marku who is also a veteran resistance fighting and Red Bloc affiliated delegate within the Temyenko Polis Assembly, she also happened to be the main organizer of the demonstration

Meanwhile the Interim Peoples Justice Assembly is rolling out its program of roaming Peoples Courts to deal with the number of claims and charges of war crimes and human rights abuses. Other factions of the Justice Assembles such as the Restorative front and the Retributive bloc continue to flesh out the countries new justice system before the occurrence of the first ever Justice Assembly elections which are scheduled to take place sometime this year or next year.

THE SPEA INNITIATE THE FIRST PHASE OF RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION

Image
(Timesna CBD savors its last night of unrestricted electricity use before the SPEA's new Energy Distribution Act comes into effect)

Chief Peoples Economic Delegate Nora Firmescu recently signed off on some new Economic Legislation that was passed in the Supreme Peoples Economic Assembly which calls for the drastic redistribution of essential resources in the immediate post war recovery phase starting with electricty.

While food distribution has been a major economic policy and for the most part the sole domain of the government for the past 2 years, Electricity has largely been a neglected and struggling area. With the decommissioning of Bulgislavia's last nuclear power plant in 2012 the country has been plagued by sporadic power outages and chronic energy shortfalls. This problem was made worse with last years civil war which razed most of Bulgislavia's most built up and industrialized area's in the nations heartland.

Despite this a few Polities managed to prosper with their energy resources and share excess energy into the national grid after they had met their own energy demands. However with the passage of the Energy Distribution Act the SPEA has ruled that all Polities will be heavily restricted in their energy usage with rationing to be imposed on all polities. All electricity except for essential services will be shut off from 10pm to 4pm and every household will only be able to use a "Sustainable amounts of Watts", anybody using over will have to pay an energy overuse fee for every watt that is used.

All excess energy is to be redistributed via the Hall of the Peoples Resources where it will be diverted to the most war torn and under developed polities to "jump start" the mass drive of reconstruction, in these polities that are in "most need of energy", electricity will be used around the clock at the same time as reconstruction projects

THE FIVE YEAR PLAN 1st JAN 2014 - 31st DEC 2018 TO EMPHASIZE HOUSING

Image
(The Intensive residential development in southern Naradia which was started in November is already 75% complete)

The current five year plan which has been dubbed the "Recovery Plan" has placed a massive emphasis on housing to make up of a massive residential shortfall induced by the civil war.

It is believed and well known that millions have been left homeless and displaced by the fighting and many millions more live in less then adequate housing. The Recovery Plan has set ambitious targets for the construction of new dwellings and is conscripting the military to help with the projects. Thousands of soldiers stationed in designated cities are helping with the construction of new apartment blocks. The RAFB (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Bulgislavia) have also been made responsible for some 850,000 POW's from the civil war, while many have been put to work in out of the way mines and dam and canal projects, over 300,000 have been put to work on residential construction projects around the country which explains how some of the larger residential projects have manifested so quickly.

Bulgislavia's prison system consists of a network of labour camps and is said to contain between 3 to 6 million individuals (no reliable statistics available), most are serving 5 to 10 year sentences and are told that their work towards society pays for their crimes towards society.

Federal supremacy exerted
Directive from Faedrulhulm orders Federal Guard units to secure centers of state government

FAEDRULHULM, Allamunnic States - Citing what he called a "disturbing trend of threats against state and federal governments" by unspecified groups, President Isaac Muhlenkampf ordered all units of the Federal Guard to secure centers of state and federal government across the country against "extremist elements."

"This morning, after receiving reports of movement by extremist elements that will at this point remain unidentified, I directed Generalissimo [Peter] Schroeder to instruct Federal Guard units to secure government offices in Faedrulhulm and the various state capitals, and to secure other major cities if manpower allowances make that possible."

Following his statement, the President was unwilling to elaborate on the nature of the "extremist" groups or what nature of danger government offices and employees may be facing, saying instead that "the relevant authorities have the necessary information to keep everyone safe."

With the caveat that all further information is unconfirmed, Tyrrhenian Broadcasting Corporation's sources in the Allamunnic States have indicated unexpected military buildups near Dunnmaar and Vymsaea. Local authorities in Dunnmaar also indicated that there may have been a possible sighting of former Genealissimo Steven Grimmeberger at one of the city's numerous train stations, allegedly accompanied by Commander-General Tyrrus Grahulm, the regional commander of Federal Army forces in Stalhamark. However, we must emphasize that any guesses as to the nature of Muhlenkampf's alleged "extremist groups" are largely speculative at this time.

EXODUS OF BULGISLAVIAN'S CONTINUES

Image
(Illegal migration continues to be a problem for Bulgislavia's border authorities)

Despite the end of the civil war and a return to some semblance of stability, thousands of Bulgislavian's continue to make the perilous journey with human traffickers, over its rugged mountains and porous borders for a new life outside Bulgislavia.

Bulgislavia opened its borders to migration after the 2010 April revolution, however the civil war in 2013 caused an estimated 4 million Bulgislavian's to flee abroad and more continue to leave very day.

The International Healers Federation, a humanitarian NGO operating in the country recently helped over 100,000 Bulgislavian's gain exit visas to the Refugee Sanctuary in Ganos Lao and a province of "New Bulgislavia" is currently being established there mostly made up of Bulgislavian refugee's wishing to start a new life.

Chairman Igor Rukesku continued to stress the need for Bulgislavian's to use legal channels to leave the country and warned that Bulgislavian's who entrust their future to human traffickers are putting their lives at risk.

The problem however is the amount of red tape Bulgislavian's must go through to obtain an exit visa to another country, there is currently such a backlog of applications that a Bulgislavian who applies for an exit visa to Strolingrad could expect to wait up to 19 months to hear if their application has been approved, many feel they can not afford the wait.

The Interim government has passed several measures to deal with the problem. A 35% increase in military patrols along the border is designed to cut the rate of illegal migration flow as well as the planned construction of over 30 new border checkpoints, maintenance of land barriers and increasing the staff of the migration office by another 3,000 workers to cut down waiting times for exit visa approvals are just some of the measures that have been taken.

As well as this Bulgislavia is currently looking into the possibility of making travel to fellow socialist allies more easy which would allow Bulgislavian's to work and live abroad in fellow socialist nations without the need to go through a lengthy visa application process. Bulgislavian delegates are expected to raise this issue at the next Summit of Workers International, socialist nations.

RIGHTS GROUPS CRITICIZE INTERIM GOVERNMENT FOR DRAGGING ITS FEET ON VITAL POLITICAL REFORMS

The Bulgislavian Human Rights Commission and Human Rights Watch Bulgislavia have joined forces with the Free Levantia Movement in criticizing the Interim Governments sluggish movement toward implementing key Political Reforms

"The Provisional Assembly has not set a date for elections of a constituent assembly to draft a new constitution or set a date on elections of the much talked about Revolutionary People Power Assembly" argued Human Rights commissioner Valerie Semcu

The Free Levantia Movement which has begun operating in Bulgislavia in an underground capacity since Igor Rukesku's controversial decision to ban the group as a "Subversive espionage and spy organization controlled by New Belhavia" also released several anonymous video's on Bulgislavian social media site Consoc and video sharing site Urimesc stating that the Provisional Assembly has failed to introduce transparency laws over the extremely powerful security apparatus the PRIA and claimed that Bulgislavia was in fact a false democracy under the control of the secretive intelligence service.

While greater transparency and oversight in all public institutions has been one of the key demands of activists, the Interim government has been slow to enact real measures to facilitate more transparency. However in a rare public address the PRIA Director Janos Humala stated that the PRIA is currently being audited by an independent organization known as "TranspariaBulgislavia" and claims that it will meet all of the requirements and standards set by TranspariaBulgslavia.

TranspariaBulgislavia released a statement when asked about the audit, stating that it will release its findings to the public by March 1st and that it will also invite the Bulgislavian Human Rights Commission and Human Rights Watch Bulgislavia to do their own independent investigation into the auditing process......

The Interim government however is still refusing to put down a solid date for elections for a constituent assembly and elections for the RPPA, Igor Rukesku continues to reaffirm his stance to not stand in elections, although he also states his intention to serve in any future government in some capacity although "Not as Bulgislavia's leader"......

THE BHO CALL FOR SPECIAL POWERS TO COMBAT CRIMSON FEVER

Image
(BHO workers dispose of contaminated material's outside the Dushov Exclusion Zone)

Chief of the Bulgislavian Health Organization Mihail Donescu met with Chairman Igor Rukesku to discuss proposed new powers that the BHO is seeking in its fight to contain the deadly Crimson Fever virus to the Dushov Exclusion Zone.

"The last thing the country need's at this time is for Crimson Fever to spread beyond the Dushov Exclusion Zone" stated Mihail Donescu at a press conference.

The BHO are seeking new powers which would give them greater control over border security, access to greater funding and resources and the ability to created an armed militia in the event of a nationwide epidemic of Crimson Fever.

The BHO had much powers during the Terevesti outbreak but the powers were temporary and the Provisional Assembly did not renew the powers when they expired at the end of last year, instead containment and quarantine powers have been taken up by the Revolutionary Armed Forces which have begun patrol's and strict containment policies, the most controversial of these is the power to shoot to kill any unauthorized individual attempting to flee the Dushov Exclusion Zone.

The BHO are still sending in search and rescue teams as well as evac zones but the number of survivors they found has drastically reduced in recent months, only 4 survivors have been rescued from the Dushov Exclusion Zone so far this year.

"Crimson Fever still present a very deadly and real threat to the people of Bulgislavia and the rest of humanity at large which is why I fully support an expansion of the powers of the BHO to deal with this threat using any means necessary" stated Igor Rukesku at the same press conference.

One of the measures that has been enacted has been the construction of large 6 meter high concrete wall's that have begun to spring up around Bulgislavia's major cities, largely built using the vast manpower of captured POW's from the civil war.

According to recently disclosed BHO documents there have been over 35 incidents of Crimson Fever infected escaping the Dushov Excusion Zone's tight quarantine, however the infected were killed before they could spread infection, however this highlights the need for greater resources to eradicate the lethal virus.

The Crimson Fever first came to national awareness during the terrorist attack funded by Shadow Org which saw the catastrophic Terevesti Outbreak which took Bulgislavia's capital city out of commission from late 2012 to the present day. Even though the BHO have largely declared the old capital "Free of infection", travel into the city is still highly restricted to authorized and military personnel only. Of all the government agencies around, only the BHO have relocated back to Terevesti. Craasi remains the acting capital, a point which Chairman Rukesku reaffirmed by stating that "Craasi will most likely remain the capital of Bulgislavia throughout 2014", a timeline for civilian re-inhabitation of Terevesti has yet to be announced.....

SYMPTOMS OF THE CRIMSON FEVER - BHO HEALTH WARNING

The S1R4 (Crimson Fever) is a synthesis of influenza, rabies, hemorrhagic fever and mad cow and was reportedly created from S1R1 (Mad Man Disease) which is an older and weaker strain of the virus.

The Virus is said to have been created during the 90's under Stalinist Dictator Yegar Provoce's lethal bio-weapons program. After the 2010 Revolution the new government set about destroying all the stockpiles of these lethal viruses, however many vanished ending up in the hands of Shadow Org affiliated groups.

Crimson Fever (S1R4) symptoms are:

S1R4 acts much faster then S1R1 and usually kills and individual naturally within 78 - 100 hours (3 to 4 days) (the longest recorded surviving individual survived 96 hours and 34 minutes)

Upon infection the virus will work quickly to travel through the bloodstream which increases the heart rate.

Within 5 hours The virus destroys white blood cells making the blood thin and unable to clot. Shortly after, the infected will begin bleeding from the eyes, ears, nose and mouth

During this time blood will begin to leak into the lungs causing an infected to also begin coughing up blood. The virus is also present in the central nervous system during this time where it quickly makes its way up the brain stem and into the brain leading to swelling and inflammation which will make the individual highly distressed and agitated

by hour 12 the individual begins to suffer amnesia and begins suffering hallucinations as the virus ravages the brain. By this stage the infected is very violent and uncontrollable and if found out of the quarantine zone is to be shoot on sight. Once an infected gets to this stage they are reffered to as "Rabid infected" because they behave like violent rabid animals

24 hours (1 day) after infection the individual will sneeze, cough and vomit up blood and be very dangerous and contagious and have lost all higher level cognitive function.

after 78 hours the virus enters its last, deadly phases. motor functioning begins to rapidly decline leading to extreme muscle spasms, seizures and paralysis, also recieving an injury during this time will lead to sever loss of blood where infected can die from blood loss

The less severe, but still lethal S1R1 or Mad Man Disease as it is commonly known in the Bulgislavian media was an earlier version of S1R4 and an individual infected with S1R1 can survive for up to two months

The S1R1 is a highly infectious disease spreading like influenza and able to survive on surfaces for up to 24 hours. Infected individuals do sneeze often with infected droplets of S1R1 able to spread up to 6 meters. One infected individuals on average infected 5 other people and it has a mortality rate of 86% (in other words in a sample of 100 people, 86 people who contracted the virus died within 8 days, anybody who lived longer then 8 days underwent euthanasia, 10 out of the 100 who contracted the virus did not die but were in a vegetative, heavily brain damaged state

Early Symptoms shortly after infection
Sneezing
Dizzyness
Fatigue
Sweats

These symptoms kick in by day 2-4
Dilerium
Dementia
Amnesia
Muscle cramps and spasms
The onset of early dementia occurs as the virus travels up the spinal column disrupting higher brain functions. These symptoms can occur from day three of infection to day six

Later symptoms become apparent after day 5
Unable to chew or swallow
Psychosis
Violent behavior
Hallucinations
Uncontrollable
By day eight the victim is a shell of their former self, unable to see reason and lashing out at any nearby person.

A "Latter infected" (or Late Infected)
Have heightened levels of adrenaline, the brain swells and becomes inflamed leading to massive chemical imbalances leaving a late infected, extremely violent and suffering frequent muscle spasms and sometimes seizures. Their brain retreats into a type of "Primitive state" where they rage after anything that moves like "prey" and grabs their attention.

It is believed that in an Apocalyptic event if society collapsed, within 2 months since the last person was infected they would die due to dehydration and malnourishment and Bulgislavia estimates it would loose 85% of its population in the worst case scenario epidemic.

The BHO have also issued a warning to the international community that samples of both S1R1 and S1R4 have proliferated and its possable that foriegn governments have easily found ways to procure samples of both the viruses. The BHO's latest risk assesement was that the "Further threat of more bio-terror outbreaks was 'extremely high'"

15th February designated Armed Forces Day by the Interim Government

Image
(Military parades were held in Bulgislavia's major cities)

The Interim government has further enshrined the powers and prestige of the military by designating the 15th of February as "Armed Forces Day", to be a new annual holiday which is seen by many as largely a replacement of the January 10th holiday which once celebrated the birthday of the now dissolved Revolutionary Republic.

Military parades took place in Berezin, Craasi, Plethce, Naradia, Timesna and Provocesti. The head of the military, General Dmitri Serescu who is now a national hero due to his role in leading the resistance armies against the Asimovist regime throughout the 2013 civil war also announced a name change from the "Revolutionary Armed Forces of Bulgislavia" (RAFB) to the "Peoples Revolutionary Armed Forces" (PRAF) to give more weight to Bulgslavia's socialist internationalist ideology which according to General Serescu "Transcends all national borders"

Leader of the Interim government Chairman Igor Rukesku also presided over the parade in Craasi and gave a speech celebrating the hero's of the civil war and the great Peoples Revolution which "Has triumphed in Bulgislavia and will march onwards"

Revolutionary Priesti which is commonly referred to as Bulgislavia's anarchist polity staged its own parade of Partisan fighters followed by a massive march by Black Block demonstrators who continued to re-affirm their right to "Self rule within the larger country" with several prominent Partisan fighters such as Enver Nishani stating that the "Partisan's will fight for the freedom of the people, forever!"

While smaller communities held more subdued celebrations.

Many observers believe the armed forces will play a much larger role in the post crisis Bulgislavia, having gained a lot of power and influence after years of neglect and subservience to the political class.

Currently the Military along with Bulgislavia's WI allies who also have troops stationed in the country numbering in the hundreds of thousands have the task of mass reconstruction, assisting new public works, distributing food and humanitarian supplies, resettling refugee's and providing extra security and the restoration of order and stability.

However Chairman Rukesku stated that the Interim government has no intention of reinstating Conscription which was abolished in 2011 under the transitional government of Andrei Bratianu......

Arcadia, Mediciano|
In a move that has surprised a great many inside and outside the Imperial government, the Navy has issued an order to deploy the Medician Territorial Fleet in the Occidental Sea directly west of mainland Mediciano. The move comes as a result, according to the government, of a "worrying increase in the number of maritime aid requests sent by Medician merchant ships in the region." The area, which is usually considered safe for commercial sea travel, is partially administered by the Empire of Ralkovia, though officials stressed that "the fleet's deployment is not at all as a result of any actions taken by the Ralkovian state, and is purely to ensure continued operation of a vital shipping route."

The Territorial Fleet, or Flotta-T as it's commonly called by members of the Navy, is responsible for the defense of the Medician homeland from foreign threats, and is not usually tasked with venturing out of Medician waters. Such voyages are routinely undertaken by the High Seas Fleet, though the government has given no word on its movements or location.

To some, such as defense analyst Marsciallo Bruggione, the move is worrying. "The territorial fleet," Sig. Bruggione said over phone, "is the first line of defense that the Medicians have against any number of enemies to the Medician people. It is extremely unusual for the Navy to move these ships out of visual range of the island, and represents some perceived threat by the government. Furthermore, the fleet is moving into an area that is usually de-militarized, which might provoke some sort of reaction from Ralkovian High Command."

Ralkovia, according to sources close to the shipping industry, may be the cause for this deployment. Capt. Louis Serafini of the Toro Shipping Vessel Icarus responded to a request for comment. "I have heard personally," the captain of nine years said, "lots of stories of recent Ralkovian naval movements in the Occidental Sea. Just last week I responded to a request for escort from the Toro Blanco as a result of her captain feeling threatened by nearby Ralkovian vessels." The Icarus is an armed merchantman, which are usually tasked with ensuring peaceful and continued operations in the region, as well as with providing aid to slower, unarmed ships like the Blanco. "The fact that the navy is now handling the situation should tell you something. When the armed merchant ships, like my own, are unable to adequately handle a situation, that should be a hint that something may be wrong."

When pressed for comment on any Ralkovian involvement, the Navy responded that "[the Ralkovians] are not involved in this decision by the Admiralty. We simply want to address security threats in the area before they threaten our economic welfare. Mediciano relies on these shipping lanes and it is a priority of the government that they remain open and unhindered. The fleet will also use the time at sea to test several new technologies, which serves as a secondary reason for their unusual deployment." Some speculate that the "new technology" referred to in the statement may be the Medic-11 Pattugliamento-Marittimo-SASP, one of several drone variants unveiled by Toro International Defence S.p.a. at their biannual show last December.

Regardless, all parties acknowledge that this move is an unusual one for the Navy and the Castelmare Intelligencer will continue to provide updates on this story as more information emerges.

Protest ensues in Geannese Capital

Hoffen, Geanna - In a repeat of last years violence, demonstrators who've held their ground in the capital of Hoffen, yet again turned to violence this afternoon sparking a clash between Military Police and protesters. Last year, amid growing tensions between supporters of a group known as the Red Hand, a radical far left organisation, and the Saxonople backed Geannese government, protests and eventually riots broke out across the country after the group released classified documents stating that Pravene forces had carried out chemical attacks on Geannese civilians during the Geannese Conflict [1971-1975].

The public out-lash at the government sent shock-waves through the Pravene Commonwealth, and nearly ended with a Pravene intervention. However, the violent riots that had spread through out much of the capital were quickly contained as chief leaders in the Geannese government stepped down from power to help cool the situation. With the promise of new elections last week however, things began to become tense yet again.

Erin Vietta was elected as the new National Minister by a small margin, Vietta who was previously the Minister of Domestic Security has long been criticized for being Pro-Pravene. His victory in becoming the country's National Minister has caused many to scrutinize the votes saying that the ballots were fixed. Vietta however, says he won the election fairly and refused to open up for a recount in an interview with PNN after his victory last week.

The public reaction by Vietta's stance sparked another protest that started last week not long after the polls were announced in Hoffen, and over the news that Vietta would not allow for a recount. As more and more people began to join the protest, mostly demanding a recount, tensions began to heat up again through-out the week. Finally reaching their peak yesterday, the mob that had begun to form near the Capitol, quickly became violent leaving four protesters and one officer wounded in a confrontation and resulting in a quick police crackdown that had 19 more arrested.

The situation however, has remained mostly peaceful despite the confrontation as the day progressed. Vietta on national television said that he wouldn't take any chances, and would deploy Military Police to the streets of Hoffen to protect government buildings and help contain the protests - a move which has already sparked more anger in a growing mob in the capital, and is causing many to fear another spread of violence. In any case, the National Administration is watching these protests carefully for any escalation that could echo the violence of last year.

THE INTERIM GOVERNMENT PUSHES AHEAD WITH POLITICAL REFORM FOR 2014 AS DETAILED IN THE "2014 POLITICAL ROAD MAP"

The Interim government based in Craasi has focused its political energies into a 'blue print' of reforms that are designed to strengthen institutions, reform of the nations political framework, elections for a Parliament for the nations political organizations and parties (A key demand), there are also to be elections for a "Revolutionary People Power Assembly" made up of delegates of the leading social organizations and then another chamber that holds the Polity Chief's of all of Bulgislavia's 122 polities.

The Proposal also calls for "Laying the groundwork" for elections and does not state any election dates and even implies that it may take place in a window between January and March of 2015. There has also been a renewed push by civil liberties groups particularly the anti-torture collective which is backed by influential oligarch like Enrico Lavrov, recognizing this the Interim Assembly has also called for tough transparency and oversight over Bulgislavia's intelligence network and the use of the controversial Security Center program will be officially ended by January 1st 2015, the powers of the PRIA would also be scaled back and documents are to be disclosed relating to both the conduct of the intelligence forces during the pre 2010 revolution up to the current day.

FOREIGN RELATIONS NEWS

Since the Strolingradi and Yaroslavian visit to Bulgislavia in January to take part in post civil war Victory Parade, aide to the country has increased. This is being coordinated by a Humanitarian arm of the WI Coalition along with the IHF. Bulgislavia's socialist allies are providing a significant part of the security situation in vulnerable area's of the country.

The Interim government has also issued a statement on the situation in Geanna

"The Interim Peoples Democracy of Bulgislavia condemns the violent crackdown of demonstrators by the Vietta administration and supports the cause of the people to call for full electoral transparency" - Chairman Igor Rukesku, also foreign affairs minister

Meanwhile radical left-wing factions in both the Bulgislavian media and political establishment have stated that the Bulgislavian Peoples Revolution is in solidarity struggle of the Geanna people.

A few articles have appeared surrounding particularly tense naval stand offs between Ralkovia and Mediciano, the Interim government has publicly expressed concern that this may lead to to further regional instability if the situation escalates into anything further. The Interim government however is more concerned with domestic policy then foreign affairs. The post civil war rebuild is now in full swing thanks in large part of over 2 million forced labor units in the form of Asimovist POW's and other criminals, most on 5 and 10 year sentences. The Army is said to be in charge of these 'penal labour colonies' and the Bulgislavian Human Rights Commission has been unable to inspect the camp conditions.

THE SUPREME PEOPLES ECONOMIC ASSEMBLY SOLIDIFIES ITS HOLD OVER THE BULGISLAVIAN ECONOMIC SYSTEM

Since the elections for the SPEA which established the economic institution in September of last year, it has been tasked with co-ordinating and creating a new economic system for the post civil war Bulgislavia. The Election results saw the coming to power of a coalition of Left wing and Environmental economic delegates leading to an economic ideology based around green communism.

The traditional economic system was in a slow but stagnant decline but in 2010, after the April revolution (Which is approaching its 4th anniversary) the economy seriously began to tumble and collapse, State industries were carved up between Provoce era cronies and the Provoce system's nepotism was exposed throughout the Bulgislavian economic system. While the government has clawed back around 70% of the Bulgislavian economy (largely with the help of the armed forces), the 30% private sector is dominated by a small oligopoly of mega "Peoples Enterprises" which is Bulgislavia's version of Corporations.

Documents have been leaked that show the SPEA will struggle to pay teachers, doctors and other state sector employee's while also balancing the demands of the post civil war reconstruction. Meanwhile the Bulgislavian Urmi (national currency) is becoming more and more worthless, in fact some Polities have abolished the use of the Bulgislavian currency and use a system of labour vouchers and distribution notes

A leaked draft of the SPEA "30 year vision" states a gradual evolution into a "resource based economy in the control of the people" and will invest heavily in technologies and programs that will see this vision become a reality. While the SPEA only have a mandate for 5 years until the next election the institution has been heavily criticized both domestically and abroad, particularly by nations such as New Belhavia who condemned the SPEA institution before it could fully establish itself.

An Independent economic forecast agency has stated that 2014 will be a year of deeper economic crisis due to terminal structural faults within the system and which was largely inherited by the pre-2010 government. Some within Bulgislavia's economic community are pinning their hopes on more aide from its socialist allies to prop up the economy and get the country on its feet.

Foriegn investment opportunities:
None what so ever at this point or in the foreseeable future. The economic system has become incredibly isolationist by basically closing off all trade except with Levantian neighbors and socialist allies. The SPEA has stated that its international economic strategy is to "Foster an alternative global economic structure that challenges the capitalist paradigm" So there is basically no investment opportunities for capitalist nations within the Bulgislavian economic system. However commercial opportunities with other socialist and left leaning nations would be welcomed by the SPEA who are keen to expand on their vision of establishing an alternative international socialist economic system.

EYE WITNESS ACCOUNTS FROM PROVOCE ERA INSIDERS BECOME BEST SELLERS

Since the collapse of the Stalinist regime in 2010 many people have been able to speak more freely about their experiences during that time. Now four years after the revolution Enrico Lavrov is set to release his book "Living in Provoce's world" which is set to shine more light on the life of Stalinist dictator Yegar Provoce who ruled Bulgislavia from 1963 until his death in 2008.

The book is both an autobiography of Enrico's upbringing from his birth in 1975 up to the present day. Chapter of significant interest to the public are those that get an insider look at the life of the late dictator.

Enrico Lavrov saw much of Provoce, as his father Paulo Lavrov was a close associate within Provoce's inner circle and in the 2000's during Yegar's final years it lays bare the nepotism and corruption that became deeply imbedded within state institutions. Here is a extract of an Interview with its author and influential oligarch Enrico Lavrov:
Int: So you grew up at the very top of the old system, what was that world like?

EL: It was very far removed from the ordinary situation of the Bulgislavian people, but I was not aware of the extent of the suffering until the 90's but it was impossible to voice any concerns,if you did you risked disappearing into thin air, Provoce would conduct purges of large numbers of people at a whim and he established a pattern of periodic purges every 5 years, he was a very paranoid man

Int: But your family, particularly your father avoided this fate?

EL: Yes, Provoce considered his inner circle to be like his family, they were the closest people in his lonely and isolated life, throughout his 45 year reign he never once purged his inner circle, although he frequently demoted and publicly humiliated his inner circle to make an example every once and a while, this happened to my father three times and our family remember it clearly. The first was in 1986, the second was in 1996 and the third was in 2001.

Int: Now what do you say to those who claim that the position of your family also allowed you to profit from the post revolution economic situation and the nepotism that exists in today's economic climate

EL: Well I would say they are absolutely correct, my father was a powerful red director of much of the nations Tourist and leisure infrastructure, under privatization my father managed to acquire it and create a privately controlled hospitality industry and sold off some of the hotels to other new capitalists for more then what he brought them for.

Int: So what made you want to talk about and publish these details, which may look very damaging to your family as well as other oligarch families who were tightly connected to the old regime

EL: I felt like in the new era of transparency, that Bulgislavia should be safe to discuss its past, because we all led different lives back then, it was a completely different era. Also my personal wealth has already been limited to 10 million Urmi, so over 99.9994% of my wealth was confiscated by the SPEA and redistributed to humanitarian agencies involved in the post-civil war rebuild. I have been arrested by PRIA and tortured in one of their security centers, so I want the people of Bulgislavia to know that I support the revolution, I think this country does need drastic reform and I am absolutely not aligned with Shadow Org despite what some critics may spout.... more of the interview

FEARS FOR ANCIENT SITES

Image
(The ancient ruin's of Kalakmo, the birthplace of Bulgislavian civilization remains well protected unlike other heritage sites)

Various societies representing archeological, historical and cultural agencies, groups and committee's have called on the Bulgislavian state to commit more support and resources to the protection of heritage sites of significance. During the civil war that lasted from March and went through to December of last year, many historic and cultural sites were badly damaged or outright destroyed. The 700 year old castle located on the countryside outside Terevesti where King Teraku II once ruled from was completely blown up by Asimovist fanatics.

Other ancient sites that were located within the major area's of fighting have also suffered immensely and the historical architecture of Crecea has been reduced to empty shells and rubble. Only 46% of Bulgislavia's cultural and heritage landmarks survived the civil war intact, the most successful being the 5000+ year old birthplace of Bulgislavian civilization, the ancient city of Kalakmo, Tourism has recently re-opened as the risk of terrorist activities is sharply diminishing........ more

MAY DAY CELEBRATIONS SEE TWO POLITICAL DEVELOPMENTS

Image
(The street's literally turned red in Craasi as scores of people marched, dressed in red to celebrate May 1st)

Thousands of workers and labour organizations marched in the street's of Bulgislavia's major cities to celebrate the 1st of May. The Interim Government did not plan any of the demonstrations, however the SPEA did direct a large number of the demonstrations.

While many enjoyed their May Day holiday there were two important political developments. The Interim Assembly saw the resignation of each of the 155 Polity Chiefs who then left to the Trade Union House where it held the first session of the Peoples Confederate Assembly. While the development was expected and discussed at length in many Interim Assembly session's, it still came to a shock for some, however Chairman Igor Rukesku has stated that "this is a key development for the post civil war development of the Bulgislavian Peoples Revolution"

The Peoples Confederate Assembly has stated that it will convene on the 1st of every month and will be more of a deliberative and advisory body. The Interim Assembly is also set to pass legislation which will confer real powers to the newly created body, the first of which will be the ability to pass "no confidence votes" in government leadership. The leadership also issued a manifesto that states a firm commitment to a decentralized state where power resides at the bottom and can not be imposed from the top and call for Bulgislavia to become a confederation and support the establishment of the Revolutionary People Power Assembly by the end of the year. The Interim Assembly has stated that it will work constructively and collaboratively with the Peoples Confederate Assembly to guide the nation into the post-civil war future.

DESPITE POPULAR MAY DAY DEMONSTRATIONS, LABOUR RIGHTS UNDER ATTACK IN SOME POLITIES

Chief Peoples Economic Delegate Nora Firmescu has struck out at several polities who are affiliated with the Peoples Enterprise League and are supported by the Peoples Enterprise Union within the SPEA for their policies which undermine workers rights at the expense of big business.

"People did not bleed and die in the street's last year so the elite class operators of the Peoples Enterprises to bleed the workforce of their rights!" In heated debates in the Supreme Peoples Economic Assembly various Trade Union and other Labour groups heckled and booed several motions that were declared by the leaders of the Peoples Enterprise Union in which the Berezin, Timescu, Ristev, Parnusov and Tecetia polities have begun instituting economic liberalization policies and winding back labour laws. Working day's have been extended from 8 hours to 10 hours and there are now fewer protections for workers with the power of the nations influential trade unions being largely curtailed, in some work places it has been banned to belong to a trade union.

This has severely enraged the Trade Union's who have promised to mobilize the workers in those polities and is supporting strike action which is currently being debated by the workers within these polities. Meanwhile the pro-business polity chief's claim that the economic reforms will greatly assist in the post-civil war reconstruction of the nation's shattered economy and the Peoples Enterprise Union and lobbying hard to "give the economic experiment a fair go"

Nora Firmescu agree's that there must be room for economic experimentation and reform, but that they should not be exploitative and that if the current anti-worker policies are not reversed in these polities, then they may be excluded from the wider "Peoples Economy" which would most certainly mean economic collapse for these provinces.

"She should watch it with her threats" stated the main SPEA opposition leader, chief of the Peoples Enterprise Union Nicu Vargas "Of 155 polities, 73 polities elected to align with the Peoples Enterprise League, If CPED Firmescu forces our hand we will be forced to establish an alternative economic system within the country"

The topic is becoming widely discussed on blogs and public discussion forums on Bulgislavia's domestic internet and is drawing interest from the media.

FOREIGN AFFAIRS NEWS

The number of Bulgislavians who have fled abroad are estimated to be around 8.5 million, scattered all across both Tyrrhenia and the wider world, while over 100,000 have made their home in Ganos Lao's refugee sanctuary, many live a precarious and brutal existence as a refugee.

Director of the International Healers Federation (IHF, Bulgslavian humanitarian NGO) estimate that up to 4 million of those who fled the country as refugee's may eventually end up in the global slave trade "as many refugee's do in this crazy world" stated Felix Ormencu

While the PRIA has not given any mention of Bulgislavian refugee's who may have found themselves in exploitative and miserable circumstances abroad, it is another class of refugee's they are only interested in bringing back to the country, the wealthy elite's who backed the Asimovist regime and were affiliated with the terrorist organization known as Shadow Org.

Many of these high class refugee's are believed to have fled with their millions (In some cases, billions) to accommodating nations such as New Belhavia (Who also helped to establish the subversive Free Levantia Movement with the aim of toppling the Bulgislavian government)

It is rumored that some Shadow Org elites even fled to Ralkovia, however these remain unconfirmed

FINAL PHASE OF NEGOTIATIONS FOR AN OVERSEAS "SANCTUARY POLITY" UNDERWAY

The Committee for the Continuation of a Free Bulgislavia has publicly announced that it has now entered the final phase of negotiations in establishing an overseas Polity for Bulgislavian war refugee's.

This Sanctuary plan was concocted in mid 2013 when the threat of war and invasion from several Tyrrhenian powers seemed very likely. Knowing that the war weary and crippled Bulgislavia would be unable to fend off an invasion, the Committee for the Continuation of a Free Bulgislavia was formed. It was tasked with located some new land overseas that would be able to contain evacuated citizens, national treasures and resources.

The Location of this "Sancutary Polity" is yet to be disclosed, but several housing fabrication industries have been dismantlement and transported by train to some Strolingradi ports for eventually relocation to this Sancutary area. Even though the threat of a New Belhavian and Prussian-Steinbach invasion has diminished from the tense stand off that occurred last year, the Interim Government has given greater support to the continuance committee as "National survival is a high priority"

This comes as tensions remain high in the region due to belligerent and aggressive Naval moves by Ralkovia which at first threatened Mediciano's territorial sovereignty and now look's set to engage in more naval exercises off the coast of Levantia.

This sanctuary program is not to be confused with the Refugee Sanctuary in the Ganos Lao, where over 100,000 Bulgislavian refugee's currently reside...... more

BULGISLAVIAN GOLD RESERVES MOVE EASTWARD

Image
(Bulgislavian gold reserves are believed to have been transported further inland sometime last month)

Berezin, the northern city, Bulgislavia's most populous and for a long time the center of the nations economic system has now lost one of its greatest economic resources. In a secretive operation to move Bulgislavia's gold reserves further inland, all of the vaults of the Central Peoples Resource Hall was emptied, over 500 tonne's have been relocated eastwards either to Craasi or Naradia.

Bulgislavia's gold reserves have shrunk significantly in the last year due to civil war and reconstruction costs, however the SPEA has recently decreed that the Bulgislavian state must hold a minimum of 500 tonnes in gold and that the focus now be on accumulating more gold from its mines. Chief Peoples Economic Delegate Nora Firmescu has stated that the main reason for the relocation of Bulgislavia's gold reserves was to properly secure them in a location that would most likely be one of the last places to fall in the event of invasion, giving the Bulgislavian government time to evacuate the gold to Strolingrad or further abroad.

Another reason was to relocate the gold to a Polity that was affiliated with the Red Bloc polities of left leaning and socialist administrations rather then keep the reserves in Berezin with is affiliated with the Peoples Enterprise League...... more

THE RISE OF ANARCHIST SQUATS

Image
(Anarchist squats are no longer confined to Revolutionary Priesti but can now be found in most Bulgislavian cities)

Anarchist squats are on the rise all over the country as abandoned buildings ruined by the civil war are transformed into the homes of radical youth's and anarchist groups. Even in cities untouched by the civil war, anarchist squats are on the rise.

In Revolutionary Priesti, the only self declared Anarchist Polity in Bulgislavia, entire neighborhoods have been occupied and transformed leading to a drastically different environment and culture that what was traditionally known.

Literature on free love, art, culture and the absence of any sort of laws or authority has had a transformative and drastic impact on the psyche of the squatters in these location.

The Interim government does not have an official stance on the Anarchist movement, however the local governments of the various polities are dealing with them in various ways. These range from being openly sanctioned and supported as is the case in Revolutionary Priesti, to being cracked down on which is the case in the Provocesti Polity, however the prevailing mood is to "live and let live" and if buildings are found to be abandoned or unoccupied, Anarchist squatters quickly move in...... more

THE FREE CITIZENS PARLIAMENT BEGINS ELECTIONEERING

Various groups from Bulgislavian civil society are registering to participate in elections for the Free Citizens Parliament, which is an independent grass roots movement to get political reform moving, stating that "The wait for the Revolutionary People Power Assembly is taking too long"

While some of these groups are blaming the Interim Government for intentionally dragging their feet, others state that this is a revolutionary people power development in itself and that it will participate in and co-operate with the RPPA when it eventually forms at the end of the year.

So far the main groups vying for votes in this independent parliament are:

SOCIAL MOVEMENT ALLIANCE: Is an alliance of various grass roots social movements and causes, they wish to unite to give themselves a greater voice in the political scene of the country

POPULAR WILL: Is another grass roots movement with a focus on direct democracy and people power, it directly came about from the Peoples Democracy movement that came to characterize the Great Peoples Enlightenment Revolution back in 2011

THE VOICE OF THE DISPOSSESSED: is a movement dedicated to the cause of those internally displaced inside Bulgislavia, who lost everything during the civil war, they represent refugee's and the marginalized and all those who feel like they are at the bottom of the social structure

PARTY OF THE MASSES: A political organization that is dedicated to the cause of a people power revolution and is in line with the ideology of the Great Peoples Enlightenment Revolution to turn Bulgislavia into a "State of the masses"

RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS GROUP: Is a group dedicated to human rights, democracy and freedom

BLACK BLOC: Is a radical anarchist faction that had dedicated itself to participating in these elections to ensure that "The Free Citizens Parliament is not high jacked by the establishment" and that this newly created body remains "close to the people, among the grass roots"

RED BLOC: Is the grass roots faction of the communist and socialist movement

Bitchin' Time In New Belhavia
Calvin Hollander

A brawl nearly erupted after announcers read the results from the first day of the Imperial Canine Championship in Dakos, New Belhavia. The Belhavian crowd protested the decision giving Ascelonian pooches a sweep of the sporting and terrier groups. Alabaster From Sculpted Stone, the famous Belhavian Jack Spaniel, was unfortunately disqualified for wandering off during the ceremony and urinating on Judge Lawrence's shoe. The decision to remove him from the competition was met with much protest. Alabaster would've won best of breed had he not been excluded.

The crowd around the seating sections reserved for Belhavian fans tossed cat food, an egregious sign of disrespect, at the Ascelonian delegation for half an hour until security intervened. Ascelonian breeders filed a formal protest to have additional Belhavian hound owners disqualified for cheering on the sordid affair. They found the brand in question, Feline Feed, a cheap generic, to be particularly offensive. However, the protest was immediately thrown out after further investigation revealed a conspiracy involving several Ascelonians in which large amounts of canine feces was amassed near their seating section.

Ponean Poodle on parade at the competition.

Franklin Bellworth, an eccentric dog breeder from Auglich, raised the victorious team of Ascelonian Walheim Terriers who stole the show, winning out with superior posture and coordination. The ever fierce, Coraline by Day Firenze by Night, found the missing Judge Able Carston in record time. Some animal rights activists protested the competition amid rumors Bellworth unethically applies Pavlovian conditioning to train the perfect competition canine. Rival terriers from other competing countries were defeated by a large margin. Several pooches failed to meet the grooming standard for entry including a rather large Manganibian jungle rat disguised as a dog.

The best of breed Bellworth terrier, Everdeen Wind Walker, kept perfect pace with his owner as he was paraded across the grounds to receive a golden ribbon. In the other groups, Ascelonian Hakkapelitan Hounds and Corllian Schnauzers were received with overwhelmingly negative ratings prompting a fecal protest from uprising from the stands. Belhavian Silverhound, Starling of the Bell Tower, redeemed Belhavian canines by taking best of breed in the hound category. Tomorrow, the Bitchworth will cover the competition in the Non-Sporting, Toy, and Herding Groups.
