Description: Turkey is a democratic secular republic, an influent regional power in Eurasia and one of the main players of the European Union, which it joined a decade ago. Powered by a stable and prosperous economy and boasting one of the strongest militaries in Europe, Turkey has consistently pushed for a protectionist and defensive foreign policy, aimed at building up the joint EU military forces into a force capable of dissuading the Union State from aiming their expansionist policies towards the West.
Domestic policy-wise, Turkey became even more secular under Ataturk's new reign, promoting a model framework aimed at reconciling Western and Islamic values. Cultural exchange programs with fellow EU countries tend to be quite common. Human rights-wise, the country has started to improve their treatment of the Kurdish ethnic minority, after pressure from the EU. Free speech issues still endure in Turkey, however. The Armenian Genocide has not yet been admitted by state authorities, who have also stopped actively denying it and punishing activists after other substantial EU pressure.
Ataturk is highly respectful of Sanchez, and has pushed for further collaboration between the USA and the EU to ensure peace, democracy and stability in the world and in the territories of Hell. As a result, the Turkish military heavily uses licensed American equipment, other than co-operating with other NATO and EU countries and staging joint training exercises.
The demonic population in Turkey is small and located in the biggest cities, and suffering a certain degree of discrimination. The government is however looking forward to stamping it out.

Changes since magic was revealed: Turkey wasn't heavily damaged by the Abrahamic War, thanks to their overwhelming military strength and to the fact that, well, they're Turks. As such, resentment towards demons is less than in mainland Europe. Politics-wise, the AKP promptly found itself defeated at the elections, after Kemal himself returned from Hell and decided to stick it up their Islamist Neo-Ottoman asses by becoming the candidate for the CHP party.
Ataturk predictably won, cashing in on his reputation as the father of the modern Turkish nation. After a landslide victory, Ataturk cancelled the Islamist reforms of the Erdogan era, while promoting an agenda of state secularism and social liberalism, other than further co-operation with the West. This eventually led Turkey to join the EU, after cleaning up their human rights record by a bit and adopting less heavy-handed policies towards the Kurds. Even then, any semblance of Kurdish armed opposition was promptly crushed by the central government.
To usher in the accession of Turkey into the EU, Ataturk eventually agreed to the creation of the Cypriot Confederation, a loose diplomatic union between the Greek and Turkish parts of the island of Cyprus meant to placate conflict and provide a framework for peaceful co-operation and re-unification, which was eventually recognised by both Greece and Turkey.
Magic is legal in Turkey, and the government has subsidised several magic schools around the country, other than participating in the ISSR initiative and starting to introduce the magic arts in the armed forces.
