Oured, D.A., UNITED REPUBLIC (UP) — Recently inaugurated president Alex Vaziri announced the recall of several diplomatic staff members of the U.R. embassy in Romula, Rodarion, notably including Leslie Raza, the U.R. ambassador to Rodarion. The move was prompted by bellicose rhetoric from Romula and appearance of Rodarian military forces surrounding the embassy.

"We stress the importance for Rodarion to commit to responsible behavior in response to the ensuing crisis," President Vaziri told reporters during a statement to the press Saturday morning. "In the meantime, we are recalling Ms. Leslie Raza, the U.R. ambassador to Rodarion, for safety reasons."

For weeks, a Catholic insurgency in southern Itailia has prompted large-scale anti-CDI sentiment throughout Rodarion. Anti-CDI protests and riots have occurred throughout the country, especially in front of the embassies of CDI nations. The threat these demonstrations present to the safety of embassy officials and staff members prompted increased security measures and techniques.

Saturday morning, as armed gunmen dressed in Rodarian military gear (but not wearing any identifying insignia) surrounded the embassies of the United Republic, New Belhavia, and the Western Confederation, U.R. marine embassy guards wielding rifles and body armor appeared on the rooftops of compounds within the U.R. embassy in Romula. Similar security forces became visible from outside the Belhavian and Western embassies.

It is currently unclear if the Rodarian forces are present to keep embassy personnel in check or to prevent protestors from storming the embassies. The UP is unable to independently confirm the reports because the Papal Republic retains stringent restrictions on foreign journalists.

Irresponsible behavior

Both President Vaziri and Secretary of State Alia Kouri referred to Rodarian actions as "irresponsible".

Secretary Kouri, speaking to reporters in Blackdon, Afalia where she went to discuss a security relationship with Afalia, said that Rodarian forces should clarify their position.

"We are indeed concerned for the safety and security of Emmerian citizens in Rodarion," she said at Question Time. "Armed military forces surrounding a foreign nation's embassy without specifying their intention is an irresponsible action that can cause unnecessary harm."

The U.R. State Department issued a travel warning for Emmerian citizens in January, advising against all non-essential travel to Rodarion. On the State Department's website, travel information for Rodarion specifies: "Extremist groups continue to target U.R. and CDI interests in Rodarion. Extremists have exhibited a willingness and capability to attack areas where U.R. and other CDI citizens are known to congregate or visit. Terrorist actions may include, but are not limited to, suicide operations, bombings -- including vehicle borne explosives and improvised explosive devices -- assassinations, carjackings, assaults, and kidnappings. [...] We remind U.R. citizens that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful may turn confrontational or violent. Rallies, protests, and demonstrations occur regularly throughout Rodarion and have often taken an anti-Emmerian or anti-CDI character. [...] Information regarding demonstrations is available on the websites of U.R. Embassy-Romula and Consulates in Voluntari and Videle."

Armoring the border

According to Rodarian state news outlet PRRB, Romula confirmed earlier Emmerian, Western, and Belfrasian intelligence reports suggesting that Rodarion deployed over 450,000 troops to the Belfrasian, Itailian, and Western borders in January. PRRB indicated that Pope Pius justified the deployment as necessary in preparation for the "inevitable" armed military conflict with the CDI.

"[W]ithout any action by ourselves, the CDI has sealed off the crossroads, the turning points and side routes, they trapped us and themselves directly on the path towards hostilities," the Pope told reporters during a session with the Sacred College of Cardinals.

Members of the Rodarian military confirmed their willingness to support the Pope, according to Rodarian state news. Colonel Traian Tudor, a spokesman for the Papal Army, told PRRB: "The CDI has rejected diplomacy and continue to brutally crush a pursuit for freedom and liberty by an oppressed majority. We will assist them, we will aid them, and we will secure their freedom if we are ordered to."

The UP is unable to independently confirm the reports, because the Ecclesiastical Security Commission, the current military junta led by the Pope, maintains strictly enforced bans on foreign journalists.

Ebonaevron, Itailia (Herald) — Speaking for the first time in nearly three months when he addressed the Senate in a speech that announced the closure of the border with the Papal Republic and other grave matters, Archon Caius was pulled out of bed a few hours ago by his aide's to address the more disturbing news from the now un-recognized Papal Republic. Dressed in simple pants and a jacket, the Archon made the conference short, stating that " for a supposed state that claims to remain committed to vitriolic policies in direct contradiction to its claims to support the peace and security of Pardes."

When also asked about the Pope's claim that Itailia has refused all offers of peace, the Archon stated that the Ambassador left a emergency contact number with the Papal office before he left, in case peace was on their mind and up for discussion and the Archon has stated that he will consider their offer of peace in order to put to ease the rising tensions, through analysts find it unlikely given the Empire no longer formally recognizes the Papal Republic as a sovereign state.

In addition to the latest warmongering calls from the Pope and the dictator in charge as President and the Ecclesiastical Security Committe, a growing number of Senators have voiced their concerns about the Papal Republic itself, which claims to be supporting the 'opressed Catholics' in the Drakkar Province. Senator Ianavius had just this to say " The Papal Republic seems awfully committed to the road of war; which, the Empire is ready for. But the Papal Republic seems to forget that this Empire is still filled with more then three billion Catholic's, millions of which are just miles from this massive Crusade of the Pope's, including myself. We did not abandon the Church, we were not the ones who recalled the Bishops, it was Romula. "

The Department of Defense confirmed the arrival of eight more Legions, which were recalled from the New Firenze colony outside Pardes and were quickly stationed on the Rubicon Line, where troop deployments have now swelled to three hundred thousand men ever since Caesar ordered it manned following the closure of the border. One legion was also redirected to the city of Nece to help quell violence which has lessened following the conclusion of a major battle between authorities and Rodarion supported insurgents there, which is expected to the hotbed of the war.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Atticus Valerius has stated in a official Ministry conference with the press that he and his office were "concerned" over the direction the Chief Minister-elect Nina Kennedy aims to take the Meritocratic Union following her assumption of the office on June 1st of this year. Ms. Kennedy announced a number of changes, mostly reversing pro-CDI efforts and movements that current Chief Minister Boyd enacted,such as the deployment of Meritocratic soldiers to the Itailian mainlands and a carrier battle group which is supporting Itailian assets as well as an Arthuristan fleet in the Sea of Orlessia.

The tensions that could possibly rise from this arrive just a few months before the Senatorial Tribunal on Foreign Trading is set to convene for their annual review of trade packages, and their recommendations may include tariff raises and increased fee's on foreign products that come into the Empire.

Laesico, Belfras(Herald) — Following the storming of the Belhavian embassy this morning, which saw the detainment of not only the diplomatic staff but also the fifty or so Belhavian Marines attached as the embassy's guards and twenty or so civilian security contractors. Itailian officials, asking to remain unnamed, from the Foreign Office have indicated their 'extreme displeasure' at the way events have turned out in the Papal Republic, and it was unsurprised when this morning the Senatorial Tribunal on Foreign Relations announced that the Papal Republic had been placed on the "Rogue States" list, which re-affirmed the closure of borders with it on the 18th of last month. The Senate also voted 311-75 in favor of placing a infinite lasting embargo on all industries towards the Papal Republic.

Following the announcement by the Tribunal, the Office for CDI Affairs (OCDIA) released a short statement stating that Archon Caius had requested an emergency summit with all of his fellow leaders, a request he had apparently lodged yesterday evening when PRBB broke the news of the embassies of Emmeria, West, and Belhavia has having been surrounded. Archon Caius apparently left the Empire following his conference with the Herald and arrived in Laesico this morning, where we have confirmed that at least Western President Theodore Brunswick and Belhavian President Eli Goldman have arrived, no doubt to discuss what has been labelled as the Rodar-Itailian Crisis, which has only increased over the past months despite attempts from both sides to de-escalate, though following statements from Pope Pius and Caesar Da Vinci, it is clear that peace is not on the fore front of their minds.

No doubt one of the first things to be discussed at the summit is how to deal with what Belhavia is sure to label as the "illegal arrest and kidnapping" of it's Marines and contraters, as well as the diplomatic staff. Independent and local sources noticed that the Itailian Navy had begun leaving the docks at Orcon Naval Base, the largest naval facility in the southern mainlands and where the 2nd Southern Red Fleet had been based out of for the last four weeks following what the Navy deemed a "period of refits and overhauls". This period was in line with the pouring of nearly half a million Legionnaires towards the Rubicon Line, a series of installations that have never been manned fully in the history of the Empire, but where three weeks ago by Caesar, an action later confirmed by a near unanimous vote by the Senate. The troops stationed there have been organized under Task Force Nepos, whose command was granted to Supremus Legate John Lynch, arguably the most famous military officer of the 21st century within Pardes and one of the most successful, leading to date a total of more then twenty five successful military campaigns, one of the most recent being the invasion of Ulthrannia during the Itailian-Ulthrannia War that ended in late 2008.

Isn Deslen, Belfras - At a time where the entirety of Belfras is threatened by the horror and devastation of war, the Prime Minister and the King have both mutually declared a state of 'Heightened Alert' for the Armed Forces. His Majesty King James, speaking from the Golden Palace, ordered the Armed Forces to an alert posture but neglected to activate the entirety of the Provincial Defence Force, stating that the PDF regiments of Callis Province were being activated to deal with the logistics of an increased number of mustered Military personnel.

Speaking from the Golden Palace, King James gave a typical address to the nation, speaking in the dialects of the High Nobility:
"My children, my countrymen, my brothers and sisters. It is a dark time we find ourselves in, where nought but our own steel and valour shall aid us to prevail in the face of tyranny and destruction. I speak to you now, as I always have, as but humble old man given voice to pressing concerns. Whereas last time I spoke of the grain shortages of Kunarii, I speak now of the ever-growing cloud of evil beyond our south-east border. Noise, we hear, from that border. This noise beckons haste to the fall of a society and establishment hundreds of years old and built upon the follies of old. This noise, my children, brothers, and sisters, is that of horror. The horror in the wake of a war cry.

Long past actionable alternatives, the merciless cry of war bellowing from Rodarion deafens those who hear it. They cry out for justice for the slain, yet they offer but more bloodshed as solution. Nought is the patience left within the veins of every honest Belfrasian man, woman, and child. The so-called man of god sits upon his throne in Romula and dictates that other nations are but veils of hypocrisy, lies, and oppression of Catholics. A man, already condemned by his international followers and suspected of crimes against humanity, spews hypocrisy and hate from the lips he claims utter the words of god. The actions I order this day are for one purpose and one purpose only - To protect and uphold the Sovereign right of the Kingdom of Belfras to defend itself from foreign aggression. My heart and mind is without doubt that these are dark days for our people, for the cloud of tyranny looms over us all.

They shall try to place heel upon the throat of liberty, freedom, and all things pure. I fear no alternatives to this will be accepted by Romula. Too far they have gone down the road of war and evil to stray back into the light of good will, nobility, and faith. The Pope uses his hold over billions to try and carve out for himself more land to call his own, more people to call his serfs as the old Kings of Belfras once did. Except, where my ancestors changed course, this reckless abandon for humanity by Pope Pius and his government comes in a modern time. Such things are never seen, making his actions all the more horrifying to my heart and mind. I am, as always, your humble national father and servant. May god, whatever name you choose to call him or her, bless all of you."

In the aftermath of the televised speech by the King, several orders were signed and quickly put into action with their corresponding districts of military responsibilities. The Army mobilized a further 500,000 personnel, to be distributed around Pentarum province along the border to the Callis Province. Whilst another 50,000 members of the Fifth Army, stationed in Callis, were mustered around the city of Nos Callis with orders to eventually reinforce the Belfrasian-Rodarion border. This particular order, according to the Ministry of Defence, comes after alleged reports that the Papal Army is to station another 114,000 men at the border, where roughly 450,000 Rodarion soldiers are already posted. The move, which is expected to coincide with an anticipated attack into Belfras, sparked the decision to mobilize the military in the first place. Combat air patrols near the Rodarion border have been ongoing since the crisis began many months ago, and have only increased in number and frequency after today's speech.

The navy was not exempt from deployments following this speech. The fifth fleet, which had been forming at a naval base in south-western Belfras, officially embarked on the journey to Laesico, where it'll meet with the seventh fleet, which is returning from the Eastern Central. The Third Fleet, until now stationed at Portsdown, also departed to join the growing flotilla. Several experts on military matters proposed that this is Belfras' presentation to the inevitable naval war against Rodarion, and to also defend Laesico. The dependency, home to both the CDI headquarters and one of the Belfrasian Navies largest naval bases, is in the firing line of any Rodarion naval offensive.

The Third Fleet, previously deployed to the Altrenian Island of Aletheia in response to the Anti-Communist Alliance's incursion into the region years ago, was waved off from Portsdown by thousands of on-lookers in a very public embarkation ceremony. Admiral Gertrud Bellious was seen from the command deck of her flag-ship waving to her husband and three children. The fleet, which will be coupled with the already deployed second and seventh fleets, will be deployed to patrol the area around Laesico in what was called a "Strategically sound plan of defence."

"Egotistical"

In an unexpected turn of events, the Rodarion government has declared it will only negotiate if the Itailian imperial province of Drakkar is allowed to leave the Empire. A move that would, doubtlessly, lead to a Rodarion attempt to incorporate the area into the Papal Republic. Such a move by Rodarion is not the first time in history a nation has offered a negotiation at a price that nobody is willing to pay in order to avoid being seen as the villain of the scenario.

Movements by the Rodarion Government to effectively take over the Embassies of CDI nations within the Papal Republic have led to the abandonment of many and the unconfirmed whereabouts of several members of CDI national embassies within the country. According to several experts, the move was executed by the Orducii and covered as 'protestors' in order to avoid breaking overtly breaking international law. In response, Prime Minister Ian Davies announced that

Charles Patheniew, a residential expert at the Isn Deslen University in regards to the political backgrounds of the region, was interviewed in regards to the ongoing crisis. "We've never been closer to war." Mr. Pathenview explained of the situation, "What we have is an egotistical nation spouting hypocrisies almost non-stop. They know that nobody believes what their government-run news organization publishes, but they do it so they can show it to their own people. It's highly likely that they also fabricate news stories from CDI nations to reinforce their propaganda that they need to fend off these 'evil heretics'. I'm Catholic, many people I know are Catholic. Catholicism is the dominant faith in Belfras, yet look how they treat us."

He went further into the situation. Saying that "The Papal Republic is one of increasing hypocrisy. They accuse CDI member states of arrogance, yet display increasingly arrogant delusions of grandeur at being the region's next dominant superpower. They believe this fact so much that they're willing to engage a war with multiple nations in an attempt to establish an empire for themselves."

When asked who was to blame for Rodarion's behaviour as an entity, he was rather blunt. "It is, without a doubt, the Pope. He attains absolute power, and this approach to international relations has endured several elected officials and now a coup by the military. The only fixed element is the Pope himself. That's why we advised the Parliament that any action to permanently remove this threat from the region itself was to remove the Pope from power. As a Catholic, it appalls me that a man could take and hold the seat of Christ for so long when he himself is the spawn of satan."

The possibly volatile remarks given by the expert was echoed by the Bishop of Nos Callis, who also denounced Catholic acts of violence against those of other faiths within the Province of Callis over the past few months. Bishop Volancis, a descendant of Rodarion immigrants, sent a letter to BNN headquarters. The letter, which is displayed below, outlines a daring plan to "Formally detach" the Catholic religion in Belfras from that of the Papal Republic. Typically, such an action is followed by the creation of either a new Papacy entirely or an antipope in competition to the one in Romula. Bishop Volancis, who was suggested to have been one of the Belfrasian candidates to become Cardinal some years ago, is possibly the best choice for such an event.

Bishop Volancis told reports that:
"I am Appalled and shocked that a nation of God could act so recklessly against peace loving nations and militarize so heavily. The destructive abandon shown by Pope Pius and his government is not the path an honest man of God would choose. Indeed, this path is not one that, as a good Catholic, I can abide by. Therefore I have issued a date of meeting with my fellow Bishops around Belfras to formally detach the religion in this country from the actions of the Papal Republic. What they are doing in God's name disgusts me to the core, as I know it does multiple heads of Religion around Belfras."

Betschdat, Havenwalde The Federal Ministry of Defense early this morning had confirmed to news outlets that a new budget was going to be put into effect which would increase the budget value of the Armed Forces. Minister Huberman had met with a team of financial experts and others from the Federal Ministry of Defense and had decided to increase the budget by 13%. The current budget of the Havenwalder Federal Armed Forces is estimated at 33.26 billion which accounts for 1.2% of the GDP(FY11), with the new budget raise it would increase by thirteen percent making the new budget an estimated 44.32 billion. This new budget would account for 2.1% of the GDP(FY11), with the new budget the Federal Ministry of Defense plans for several modernization projects and expansions of the Armed Forces.

The current budget had come at a great time for the Havenwalder Armed Forces. With the current tensions between the Papal Republic and the Central Defense Initiative , it is being theorized by political analysts that a war could break out in the region encompassing most of Pardes in it's wake. Therefore it had been decided that the FMOD would prepare the Armed Forces for a region wide conflict if one arose from current tensions. Recruitment efforts by the Armed Forces have been successful over the few months in recruiting many young well fit men into service with the Military, a census from 2013 showed that there were now an estimated 413,034 active personnel and 244,000 reserve personnel in the Armed Forces.

It has also been confirmed that several in-service vehicles and weapons would be retired and replaced with more 'up to standard' vehicles and weapons that would be acquired by the Federal Ministry of Defense. Her Graceful Eminence the Kozhukhina has given birth to a healthy baby girl, according to latest reports from Khram Gora on Friday afternoon. The birth marks the culmination of four hours of labor after erroneous reports of complications that spread through social media sites earlier in the day. Official reports from Legnica confirm that the Kozhukhina is resting comfortably with her spouses in her private residence, and will address the country in a televised broadcast on Sunday afternoon.

“The Kozhukhina delivered a healthy, six pound-four ounce baby girl shortly before 6 PM this evening," official spokesperson Elsapet Vosgrichian reported from the conference room at the Saeculum this evening. As with the royal twins, both Suren Nazaryan—the biological father—and Calixte's spouse Darya Marin will enjoy custodial rights with the Kozhukhina. Kozhukh Ruga Suren will soon be traveling to Sondria to assume his post as the Prefekt of Oriental Azura in April.

"We are hopeful that we can pass along further notes as time progresses, but at this time we wish to respect the privacy of the royal family at this time," senior advisor Oleg Korzakhov added at the press conference this evening. Tarsan Foreign Minister To Attend RCO Meeting In Los Reyes

Newly appointed Foreign Minister, Alrec Severeoth Nimirae, will make his first trip to a foreign nation after his appointment to the post a week ago. There, he will be attending preparatory talk with the Romula Cooperation Organisation. Tarsas has been a member of the RCO since its founding. A long time ally with Rodarion, it was expected Tarsas would join from the start. With the situation heating up within Pardes, it was deemed imperative talks be held. The RCO is a mutual defense, development, trade, and science cooperative where members work for the development of every member of the group. Tarsas has gained numerous military and technological developments from fellow RCO members and has benefited as a whole.

At the meeting, key preparations will be made and discussed for the inevitable coming conflict. The situation is escalating even now. Word reached from foreign media about a meeting of CDI leaders in Laesico, Belfras. This meeting was called in light of the Belhavian embassy being stormed and its staff detained. It is suspected that the embassy attack was a direct retaliation to President Goldman's incendiary rhetoric. The media was quiet with regards to what was discussed at the summit. In light of the summit, the Italian Navy left a major naval facility and has began what is believed to be a mobilization. The Foreign Minister issued a statement in light of the meeting. "Should the CDI start a war, we can no longer afford neutrality."

The Senate Committee of Foreign Relations has also announced, in light of Nimirae's visit, that Italia has been placed on the List of Belligerent and Dangerous Entities. Countries on this list are permanently embargoed. Any Italian nationals within Tarsas will no longer be able to return as nations on the list are considered 'No Fly Zones'. All commercial flights to Italia have been, by order of the Airspace Monitoring Commission, cancelled until further notice. The Foreign Ministry has strongly advised all Tarsan nations visiting and living in CDI states to return home as quickly as possible as it is expected more states will be added to the list in light of this war.

Naval High Command has, through Central High Command, announced its own intentions, threatening CDI trade to Arthurista. "Should the CDI initiate a war, we will not hesitate to partner with our neighbors in Ulthrannia and begin an all out effort to completely cut Arthurista from CDI support. Should war break out, we are in a position to use force to remove CDI trade ships from waters around Arthurista." Tarsas has long since been known for a large and capable submarine force, since the navy has mainly been focused around short to medium range operations and coastal defense. In light of the announcement, sources have confirmed that a large number of submarines have been seen going on more frequent patrols.

The Foreign Minister gave a short speech before his departure today. He stated adamantly that, "Should the CDI wish to start a war, we will meet them with our full force. We have the advantage over this side of Pardes. Supply lines would be long and large groups of naval ships would be easily vulnerable to our capable submarine force. We will not back down. The Italian government effectively sat back and watched 500,000 innocent people die and did little in the aftermath. This injustice cannot stand and we will not allow it to. We will stand by the Papal Republic at every turn.

Pope Pius: "Forgive me, pray for me"

Pope: "We are doing what has to be done, never again will fail Christendom"

In one of the most emotional addresses of his reign, his Holiness Pope Pius III has declared the possible conflict between the Papal Republic and Itailia and its CDI allies, a 'necessary evil, a mandatory intervention for humanity'. He also hit out regarding the major divisions within the church after it was revealed that Bishop Volcanis from Nos Callis in Belfras condemned his Holiness as a spawn of Satan and it was rumoured of him forming an Anti-Papacy in Belfras. It was revealed this morning, that 185 Cardinals out of the 254 signed a letter demanding his excommunication, the Pope rejected the call. In a session of the Sacred College today, the Pope's greatest ally within the reformist camp, Cardinal Romulus Radatescu declared that the entire Cardinalate is behind the Holy Father, regardless of division.

In response to the growing crisis within the Church, the Holy Father addressed Christendom live on television at midday, speaking entirely in English, he appealed to the Belfrasian Catholic population to forgive him and the Church for acting the in best interests of Drakkar's Catholics. He also urged Bishop Volcanis to place his decision upon the reflection of prayer. The Holy Father also defended the Papal Republic's actions regarding Drakkar, he also asked God for forgiveness due to his failure to save the 500,000 Catholics murdered in Itailia by Pagan extremists in December last year.

"My Dearest brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of the Lord, sons and daughters of Belfras. I speak to you today, not as the Pope of the Romulăn Catholic Church, not as the Bishop of Romulă, but as a humble servant of the Lord, as a humble ordinary old man, these are truly dark times we live in, we are bounded by dark storm clouds that echo the calls of death and pain, the world beats as a clock ticks away the seconds, this dark clouds emerged out of the graves of the murdered 500,000. Massacred unecessarily by extremists, I failed to save them, this church and this nation failed to protect them.

"We asked for justice in their name, we expected the Itailian government to present Pagan terrorists, instead they presented lies and malicious stories fabricated by a guilty cabal in Ebonaevron. Then without any prior warning, the Catholics of Drakkar Province put their future in the hands of the Lord and prayed that his guidance would lead their war of independence towards such a victory. It then became clear, that many, many more Catholics would perish in the CDI's response, it became clear that the only justice attainable was for this church and this country to limit the blood being spilt as much as possible, to intervene for the safety, freedom and security of Drakkar's Catholics. This maybe, if diplomacy fails, an intervention for humanity, we cannot allow another 500,000 be murdered for their faith in Christ.

"To many, this may seem like propaganda or an arrogant belief on my part, but it is the opposite. This is the duty of God's church, it is the duty of the Papal Republic because it is the Church State. I do not want war, I never want war and never will, but when we fail to protect our own and the same threat appears again, we must not allow that failure to repeat. I ask you dear friends, if you do not wish to recognise the necessity of our position, then please look at the rows of grave stones pointing up to the Lord, their names echoing through history as the one's murdered for believing in one God. Look at the bombed out ruins of former houses of God, former great cathedrals and places of worship. If not still, then look at the city of Nece, look at the small towns and villages in Drakkar being destroyed by Pagan militias and the armies of Itailia, Arthurista, Emmeria and even your own government.

"I will not and cannot question your loyalties, for you dear people, it is loyalty to the crown of Belfras above this Church, that I accept, that I respect as a proud Rodarian. But please do not address your position on the actions of this Church by the ideals set within you by the nation of your birth, look upon our actions as one of a nation; the Church State. Rodarion will always be the nation to act in the interests of Christendom, always. A man of faith within Belfras addressed me as a spawn of Satan, as a result hundreds of Cardinals came to me demanding he be excommunicated from this Church, I said no. Why? Because Bishop Volcanis is a brave man, he speaks his mind and that is a trait I admire most in him, but sadly he has let the morals and values of secular Belfras seperate him from his Church, because he like many of you, look at Rodarion's actions through the prism of Belfrasian morality and values of liberal democracy, as such you see Rodarion as an oppressive tyrannised nation, but the truth is simple, we govern by the laws of the Holy Bible, of which says this, ' 1 Corinthians 1:10, I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought,' I believe this stands to reason today more than ever, I do not ask you to join us on our intervention to save Drakkar's Catholics, but I at least ask you to recognise our point of view.

If diplomacy fails, then we shall intervene to save lives, justice for the murdered 500,000 is the protection and liberation of Drakkar from the constant threat of annihilation, yes it will take lives, but it is better to save the majority than to lose it. I believe God is with us, because it is necessary to throw down the branches of peace and take up the sword and the spear in the face of such violence and death, we have an obligation as the Church to save those people, we have a duty as Rodarion to serve those people and to free them from the cycle of violence and death that they now suffer. The Pagan began this when they spilt the blood of 500,000 innocent souls, they carried this on by their brutal supression of a group of people who aim to bring self determination and freedom for their community; Drakkar. It is down to the Papal Republic to help achieve that noble and human aim to be free and open to the Lord above without threat of violence and aggression, we will help them and we will liberate them whatever the cost. We will liberate the land of Pope Lucius X and Pope Innocent X, we will return Drakkar to peace and freedom.

The Pope's speech has been met with mixed reactions within the Sacred College, with some Cardinals showing disappointment at his decision not to excommunicate Bishop Volcanis. A sizeable number of Cardinals were clearly down beat during the Pope's address, however the Office of the Curia has stated that the Cardinals were distressed at the harsh comments made by Bishop Volcanis towards the Holy Father. Outside the Vatican, anti-CDI attitudes and pro-war opinions have been growing, Cardinal Emilian Radulescu, the General Superior of the Orducii said, "The foundations of the world's arrogance will collapse very soon and the flag of Christ will be raised" whilst visiting Orducii fighters on the Itailian border. Similar statements have been made by Holy Assembly members and officials within the Ecclesiastical Security Commission.

Deputy State Presidnet Atticus Flavrescu, said to students at Saint Gabriel University in Voluntari today, "We tried with upmost respect to enter a diplomatic endevour that would end this crisis without bloodshed, our calls and offers have gone unaswered by any CDI nation. It is clear that they want war, they wish to use this crisis as a means to crush and supress the Papal Republic which has become a major Pardesi power and they resent that, they wish to maintain the monoply of power and domination, they wish to maintain the biased and exploitative status quo, but they will be destroyed by the Grace of God."

The Foreign Ministry is expected to repeat its offer for talks again tomorrow.

RCO signs the Los Reyes Treaty

After a two day emergency session of the Romulă Cooperation Organisation has witnessed the signing of the much anticipated Treaty for Mutual Defence and Security also known as the Los Reyes Treaty for simplicity. The treaty which was proposed as a military side to the RCO upon its foundation last February has been a major component in the evolution of the RCO from its predecessor the Pardesi Economic Cooperation Agreement. According to the Foreign Minister who signed the treaty on behalf of the Papal Republic; the treaty cements the RCO's cooperation and solidarity in face of regional instability and threats to its security mostly caused by CDI arrogance and intransigence. The Treaty officially states that the Romulă Cooperation Organisation will now operate a mutual defence clause that will come into effect when a member state is in conflict with another state that is also a member of a different defence agreement organisation.

On 5 February 2014, the leaders of Armavira, Azura, Rodarion, Sturmia, Tarsas and Ulthrannia all signed the Treaty of Romulă, which officially founded the RCO as a successor entity from the PECA. From 2011-2014, PECA was a series of agreements between the six nations stated that aimed to improve economic, cultural and social ties between its signed parties. From 2012 onwards, both the Papal Republic, Ulthrannia and Tarsas have pushed for PECA to form into a geopolitical entity, of which resulted in the successful foundation of the RCO, but also those three nations also pushed for the RCO to enjoy a military aspect that would ensure the continued security and sovereignty of the RCO's memberstates. The RCO was formed out of PECA in wake of the ACA crisis, brought on by CDI nations, yet unresolved by CDI nations. They placed the entire region at risk because of their illegal actions and chose not to act to repair the damage they caused, by doing so they abandoned Pardes to a fate they created. In light of this, the PECA nations agreed to step up and take responsibility for the security of Pardes.

Public knowledge of the Los Reyes Treaty has been incredibly scarce, according to RCO officials, the decision to keep the treaty as secret as possible was to avoid the CDI taking offence to a group of nations standing together as one in face of threats. Many in Romulă, Tarsae, Los Reyes and Legnica feared that the RCO's public evolution into a military alliance as well as its current cultural and economic form would cause further tensions at a time where the Papal Republic is victim to CDI militarisation of the crisis over Drakkar. However many in those capitals wish to have seen the evolution of the RCO put openly in the public, as one MP in Romulă said, "we should have watched the life drain away from their sordid eyes."

From what information I gathered at the Summit, the treaty states:

"Any memberstate of the Romulă Cooperation Organisation that is engaged in a conflict with another sovereign state actor, which itself is a member or privy to a mutual defence agreement, is entitled to present the case before the RCO Joint Security Council and request military assistance. Yet the case brought before the RCOJSC must openly support the member state in question's position as the victim of aggression not the perpetrator. Should the RCOJSC rule in favour of the case, all memberstates of the RCO are obliged to offer limited support, be it financial, materiel or military. Diplomatic support is mandatory in line with the RCO's mission to promote solidarity among nations regardless of ideology, faith, race and creed. The RCOJSC will recognise the option for a Combined RCO Military Command or the individual memberstates may conduct whatever measures they see fit."

Speaking to reporters after signing the treaty, Foreign Minister Stanca was overwhelmed with joy and emotion when her signature was shown up on the large televsion screen, beside the seven other signatures. "

"Never before has the Papal Republic committed itself to such a noble cause such as the RCO. Today is the first step towards a new future for Pardes, no longer victim to the exploitation and arrogant suppression at the hands of the CDI. Today, the RCO stands as one family against the woes of Pardes and together as one entity we shall overcome those woes and bring about a new horizon based on peace, harmony, cooperation regardless of ideology" she said.

Fireworks are expected to be put on show tonight in Romulă in celebration of the treaty being signed, RCO flags have been spotted througout the capital and in Los Reyes where the treaty was signed. His Holiness the Pope spoke to the leaders of the RCO and Foreign Minister Stanca, congratulating them for pushing forward one of the greatest events in Pardesi history. Within minutes of the treaty being signed, the Papal Navy announced that the Moreni Naval Base was now open to the naval vessels of Tarsas, Estovakiva, Sturmia, Ulthrannia and Azura, in turn it was announced that a series of air and naval bases in both Ulthrannia and Tarsas are now open to the aircraft and vessels of the RCO.

It is not known what the CDI will make of the RCO's new endeveour towards a more stable and secure Pardes, however many within the RCO doubt it will be positive.
