EDIT: I dunno how no-one's made this nomination yet, so I'll have to do it - even though it requires a senior officer to make the nomination, I believe, thus making this nomination ineligible. Hopefully someone else will make it. *cough* *cough*
- Name of Nominator: Sebastian Smithington-Smythe
- Rank of Nominator: Colour Serjeant Aircrew
- Name of Nominee: Alexandra Noble
- Rank of Nominee: Flight Lieutenant
- Decoration Deserved: Distinguished Flying Cross
- Actions Meriting Said Decoration: Following the unfortunate demise of a captured plane's pilot 'at the stick' during an Operation commanded by Flt Lt Noble, it became obvious that the plane would not be able to land perfunctorily and that it was necessary for the rescuers and rescuees to disembark it with parachutes in order to land safely. However, due to an insufficient number of parachutes, it was obvious that at least one member of the rescue section would have to remain on-board and guide it down, at great risk to life and limb. Flt Lt Noble then ordered the entire Rescue Section and their charges from the plane, ensuring that she would be the last person on-board and proceeding to land the craft with minimal incident, at great risk to her own life.
