The Central Defense Initiative (CDI) is a knit yet diverse international military organization operating in Pardes. It was established on October 15, 1989 after the signing of the Laesico Accords. The CDI was initially commissioned to serve in the interest of the Central Ocean. Its member states have—from 1989 to present day—been conducting combined military strategies and tactics agreeing to mutual defense in response to an attack by an external party. The alliance has been forged on the principles of the Charter of the Central Defense Initiative. The Initiative is championing cooperation between its member states and acts as a means to resolve matters through consensus and in pursuit of regional peace. Furthering the treaty, and therefore acceding to the CDI means a compliance and devotion to the principles. Recognizing other international organizations such as the Organization of Pardesi Afairs (OPA). CHARTERArticle 1
The Parties undertake to settle any international dispute in which they may be involved by peaceful means in such a manner that international peace and security and justice are not endangered, and to refrain in their international relations from the threat or use of force in any manner inconsistent with the purposes of the Central Defence Initiative.
Article 2
The Parties will contribute toward the further development of peaceful and friendly international relations by strengthening their free institutions, by bringing about a better understanding of the principles upon which these institutions are founded, and by promoting conditions of stability and well-being. They will seek to eliminate conflict in their international economic policies and will encourage economic collaboration between any or all of them.
Article 3
A) No Central Defence Initiative member state shall take military action against another Central Defence Initiative member state, under any circumstances and undertakes not to enter into any international engagement in conflict with the CDI as a whole.
B) In order more effectively to achieve the objectives of this Treaty, the Parties, separately and jointly, by means of continuous and effective self-help and mutual aid, will maintain and develop their individual and collective capacity to resist armed attack. In the event that war is declared upon one member of the CDI, the other member states are expected to mobilise and treat this as if it were a direct attack upon their very own nation if a request is met.
Article 4
The Parties may, by unanimous agreement, invite any other affiliated state in a position to further the principles of this Treaty and to contribute to the security of the Central Ocean area to accede to the Central Defence Initiative. Said affiliated state is obliged to fill the official CDI application form after which a process will begin that will determine whether or not the nation will be admitted to CDI. Treaty members are to cast their vote either in favour (Aye) or in disfavour (Nay) of the applicant in question joining the CDI.
Article 5
The Parties may, by unanimous agreement, deploy the joint CCRF forces in response to a direct proposition of one of the Central Defence Initiative's member states.
