Overview
The ACX is a multi-caliber, gas piston weapon system designed for the Sankian military as an replacement for the M16A4 rifle. The ACX has selective fire options including semi-automatic, three-round burst and fully automatic for all three variants. The ACX rifles (except for the ACX-PDW) is also capable of mounting grenade launchers such as the AG36, M203 as well as its successor, the M320 grenade launcher. The ACX is in use with the Sankian military since 2013. The second and more advanced version of ACX called the Mk2 series was released in 2017.
The ACX utilizes a heavy duty bolt and extractor connected to an short stroke type gas piston. The bolt and extractor offer a higher performance then the eight lug M16/M4 type bolts. Other features include a folding stock which eases storage space consumption and deploying from a vehicle, in addition it also has a monolithic top Picatinny rail with side and under-barrel rails, and forward assist integrated into left-side charging handle. The ACX is a completely ambidextrous and the ACX-L has the exact same size as an m4 carbine with its stock extended.
Design
The ACX is composed of a upper and lower receiver, both manufactured mostly in polymer, and operates through a short-stroke piston system. Feeding is through STANAG magazines but it also accepts different types of magazines such as the PMAG as well as various types of plastic box magazines. The ACX's unique features include ambidextrous safeties, magazine catches and charging handle, the ability to change which side spent casings are ejected, a quick-change barrel which can be removed and replaced in seconds without tools, picatinny rails, and a foldable stock. The lightweight barrel is chrome lined and the standard length is 16 in (406.4 mm). The flash hider is similar to the one used on the M4 carbine, it has 2 radial cuts to control muzzle climb in automatic firing. The barrels have a 1:7 twist to fire NATO standard ball and tracer rounds. The non-free-floated barrel is easily removed simply by pulling on slide levers and pulling it out. Changing barrels without re-zeroing the sights results in little change in point of impact. An M7 bayonet lug is positioned on top of the barrel rather than underneath it.
The ACX operating system is unique in that the piston moves almost 2 in (50.8 mm), while other systems move fractions of an inch. The piston follows the bolt carrier almost all the way rearward, resulting in low gas pressure levels and a less sudden and more constant push on the carrier group. The bolt carrier and operating rod being free of the barrel is the reason it can be removed so easily. Back-up iron sights are standard and made of the same polymer as the gun's receiver. The front sight post is adjustable for windage and elevation and the rear peep sight has six positions to fire in increments from 100-600 meters. Optics, aimpoints, night vision systems, thermal sights, and other accessories can easily be attached to the ACX.
Accessories
All the variants of the ACX can be fitted with many accessories, such as night vision devices, suppressors, laser pointers, telescopic sights, bipods, either the M203 or M320 grenade launchers, the M26 MASS shotgun, forward hand grips, and anything else compatible with a MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. Other common accessories include the AN/PEQ-2, ACOG sight, M4 aimpoint and EOTech holographic weapon sights. Visible and infrared lights are also commonly attached using various mounting methods. As with all versions of the ACX accepts a blank-firing attachment for training purposes.
Operating mechanism
The ACX employs a short-stroke piston type, gas operated action with the bolt carrier attached to a long-stroke gas piston; the gas chamber is located above the barrel. The proprietary bolt is a three-lug design that locks onto the barrel extension leaving the upper receiver unstressed. There is no need to check the headspace when changing barrels. A steel fixed ejector is attached to the inside of the receiver, held in place by two bolts. The design provides stronger ejection than what is offered on the AR-15’s spring-loaded ejector design. The ejection pattern is to the two o'clock position of the operator, with an optimum distance of 15 ft to 20 ft depending on ammunition type and gas setting.
Reliability
Designed specifically for the most demanding military, law enforcement, and recreational users, the ACX offers a level of reliability offered by few other rifles. The ACX incorporates heavy duty components such as a sturdy oprod, a beefy three-lug bolt, a locking extractor, and a fixed ejector. These elements and others ensure reliable performance with minimal maintenance. The ACX is extremely reliable and can even be used in the most extreme environments.
Ergonomics
The ACX is possibly the most ergonomic rifle available anywhere. Whether the ACX is supported by the right or left hand, the operator can manipulate all the controls while keeping his eyes on target and index finger near the trigger. Our new adjustable stock not only folds but is adjustable for height ensuring unparalleled shooting comfort.
Configurable
Many rifles claim to be modular weapon systems just because they have a 1913 standard rail system used to attach accessories. The ACX is truly modular. With one ACX Lower Receiver, the operator can configure the ACX as a shorty for close quarters combat, a light weight carbine, or a longer marksman's rifle. The ACX's quick change barrel system is unmatched in terms of ease of use and repeatability. Barrel and caliber changes can be made in less than 5 minutes.

The ACX-L is the assault rifle/carbine version it can be fired semi-automatic, fully automatic and 3-round burst fire. The standard ACX-L is 840 mm long and weights just 2,94 kg (unloaded). It is the standard issue service rifle of the Sankian military.
The ACX-L offers high-mobility troops due to it short length and is fit to be used by even the most professional forces such as special-operations soldiers, paratroopers, mechanised infantry, vehicle crews, infantry, as well as other non-infantry personnel whose roles do not require full-sized rifles.
The ACX can be customised easily to fill a wide variation of roles, for example with the right configuration it can be used as a light machine gun or designated marksmen rifle.

The Sankian designation for the ACX-L as a squad automatic weapon. equipped with a longer and heavier barrel designed for heath-resistance. As well as a bipod for support, 100 round drum magazines for sustained fire and is commonly used with a 4x or 6x scope.- ACX-L DMR

ACX-M

The ACX-M is the battle rifle/designated marksman version which can also be fired semi-automatic, fully automatic and 3-round burst. The ACX-M is slightly longer and heavier then the ACX-L. It is capable of firing heavier and more powerful rounds of ammunition.
Even though the ACX-M is longer and heavier then is little brother the ACX-L it still offer a good mobility and has a better range and accuracy compared to lighter rifles. With the right attachment the ACX-M can be used as a designated marksman or as a semi-automatic sniper rifle.
ACX-PDW

The ACX-PDW the smallest and lightest variant and is classified as a PDW (personal defense weapon). It's small design makes it easy to be concealed and it's low weight allows it to be used as secondary weapon. Even though it has the same size as a sub-machine gun the ACX-PDW is capable of firing assault rifle ammunition giving it better accuracy and armor-penetrating capability than sub-machine guns.
The ACX-PDW is perfect for close quarter combat and is frequently used by special forces. Tank crews can also use the ACX-PDW, with it's small size it can effortlessly be carried or stored in a tank or vehicle.
ACX Mk2 Series

The Mk2 series is the newest and most advanced design of the ACX rifle series. Designed as a significantly more technological superior weapon with new innovative changes, it is destined to be a completely new generation of combat rifles. The Mk 2 series is designed to be lighter, shorter and fires cutting edge caseless ammunition significantly increases magazine sizes and the amount of ammunition carried by the individual soldier.

The ACX2-M is used the in the same role as the original ACX-M. With a shorter length of 855mm and weight of 3.6kg (empty). It electronically fires either 7.7mm or 7.9mm caseless ammuntion in 40, 45 round box shaped magazines or 60 round drum magazines.
