"No," said the ambassador. "It's World Assembly procedure to repeal a resolution before submitting an amended version, rather than to directly amend it. It's horribly inefficient, I'm aware. We would be happy to merely amend G.A. 170, but certain influentials can become quite... unpredictable... where procedure is not strictly followed to every jot and tittle."

good evening to you all, i've recently joined the international, after i've been ejected form my previous alliance (unknown) because my account has been suspended due to inactivity (i've been hosptalized for some weeks afte a car crash, i'm fine now). i've been re-admitted to WA just in time forr this voting.
i've also decided to take a look to the forum, to get myself an idea aout about the alliance's members vote intentions, and their reasons. i also believe it's a good occasion to say "hello" to all of you, people.
i do apologize for my poor fluency in english and for whatever grammar error. i'm from a wasted country known as italy, 38 years old on last december.

getting back to the topic's focus, i think the reason behind the repeal proposals, are simply that some words can be used to kill or prosecute journalists/corrrespondents withaout a reason, accusing them for something they aren't reall doing, jut because an idiotic man in powertrip decides that he can do that, or he/she dislikes the correspondent's face, or he's ways too suspiciou, racist, angry, ignorant etc. so' i'm going to vote in favor, because the intentions behind the proposal are to properly rewrite this article.. bbut i admit my ignorance in english language, so if someone find i'm in mistake or i've misunderstood omething (or all), please let me know i'm going to vote in an half hour

I've been giving this far too much consideration than is warranted lately. Let's break this down to the absolute basics. Every nation has (in theory) two votes; one they get to cast themselves and the other can be given to the regional delegate to cast for them. If they, as a nation don't like the voting patterns of the delegate they have the right to not endorse them. If they want to be able to use their second vote in a manner that is in accord with their own nation, they can move to another region with a delegate that is in accord with their votes.

In the ideal world, everyone votes and regional delegates would have no power whatsoever since they would only control less than half of the total vote pool. In practice and especially in large regions, few nations vote but they do give their proxy vote to a regional delegate based on criteria that has NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH WA GA RESOLUTIONS.

Now in the really weird world, some nations may give the "vote" to nations that normally don't have the vote, and all the nations that have a vote agree to vote based on how the nations that vote and the nations that don't vote decide based on a poll. Yes, that's really weird, but some large regions work that way.

Seeing as how there are currently more individuals voting for this than against it, the whole point as raised earlier in the thread is moot. The big delegates are now in line with the "voice of the people" as it were.

Nassif nods. "Then will you support the repeal along with my government? I'm sure we can draft a perfectly acceptable replacement once this procedural hurdle is cleared."

The Scavaran ambassador slowly shuffled some papers and looked around the room before addressing the Assembly. "Well, as to the issue of delegates swaying the vote, Scavara has always been mindful of what the delegate and popular regional vote has been but has never allowed that to cow our nation's thoughts on a particular issue." He cleared his throat and paused. "Many times we agree...sometimes we don't. Anyway, to the issue at hand: Scavara has voted against."

In the Name of the Eternal Kawaii, may the Cute One be praised

After our reading of the proposed repeal, we are inclined to support it. However, the regional vote in Anime is strongly against the repeal. As the issue at question does not significantly impact Kawaiian values, we feel obligated to follow the region consensus and cast our delegate votes against.

Against. Most certainly against. What is it with the repealing of every good resolution? Pretty soon we'll be at the doorstep of FoMA.
