A. Embassy/Consulate Guidelines
Embassies may only be constructed in the capital city of Parza Vaeldir in compliance with policy. Consulates can be established outside of the capital city usually in provincial capitals (refer to map).
Only low-grade light personal weapons may be carried by staff (pistols, some sub-machine guns, assault rifles, melee weapons). Limousines are reserved for heads of state. Each ambassador has the honor of meeting the High King personally and has the choice of being transported to the palace by carriage or by boat upon his arrival.
All nations are expected to follow the guidelines when establishing embassies and consulates. Any special requests are given consideration if listed in the attached form. Applications will be processed after submission with full diplomatic operations possible after 6 months to 1 year (1-2 days).
B. Diplomatic and Consular Immunity
The United Kingdom of Bracazas has submitted the following table to summarize national policies concerning diplomatic immunties. Bracazas expects all diplomatic staff to comply with Bracazie laws. In compliance with decorum, diplomatic staff can only be prosecuted in their home country's court (expressed by their nationality) except under special circumstances as ordered by the Bracazie government. Any legal actions taken against employees will require a warrant from the High Court where compliance of the guilty party is required. It should be noted that Bracazas will communicate with the home nation if their diplomats have violated the law.
If the nation does not take the necessary actions to punish/prevent the offense or if the guilty party refuses summons or searches, the government of Bracazas will act upon this breach of diplomatic decorum. All offenders will be given a just and fair trial and a representative from their home country will be invited to oversee the hearing. Actions taken can be, but are not limited to: revocation of diplomatic immunity (w/ home nations's approval), deportation from Bracazas as persona non grata, arrest and imprisonment, etc.
C. Extraterritoriality Policy
The United Kingdom of Bracazas recognizes that the land in which a mission is built upon remains Bracazie, but that Bracazie laws are suspended within the compound as the sovereign nation's laws are applied. Permission from the sovereign nation will be requested should authorities need to step inside the embassy/consulate. Crimes committed within the compound by non-Bracazie citizens are not under Bracazie jurisdiction and are tried by the sovereign nation's court. If the guilty party holds Bracazie citizenship, nations are requested to turn over the offenders to local authorities. It should be noted that all crimes occurring outside of the compound will be tried in a Bracazie court regardless of the guilty party's nationality.
D. Locations
As previously stated, embassies can only be constructed in the capital. Consulates can be constructed in the provincial capitals but are subject to approval. Consulates elsewhere need additional clearance. Parza Vaeldir offers two places for a possible embassy:
The Old Quarter
This is located in the old walled city of Parza Vaeldir. Most of the buildings date back to either Pui Gozkare or Pui Haesdanie (c.1300-1600) and feature a unique blend of Ecaesie, Bravian, and Jobrumian architecture. This is oldest area of the city and its historical center. It is close to the city's cultural and fine arts district as well as the Royal Palace. The nations museums and a historic university is nearby. It also provides access to boats and choppers.
The World Village
This is the newly constructed global village. Located near downtown, it is close to the economic and social hub of Parza Vaeldir. It boasts a healthy nightlife and tons of recreational activities. It is close to the modern heart of the city, a few kilometers away from the Royal Palace. A compound here provides access only for a chopper; there is no naval access.
E. Security Clearances
Note: REQUIRES FORMAL DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS
A nation may ask for security clearances through contacting our embassy or our government directly. Security clearances allow access to special products that the government strictly regulates through the publicly-owned Royal Bracazie Markets, and is required for other purposes such as the sharing of scientific/military/top-secret documents that would usually be classified. To request security clearance, send a message to the embassy or make a note about it on our comments section. The Minister of Foreign Affairs will handle the request to be approved or denied.
