111 killed in Prison Riot

Serious incident has a ocurred at Kadea Prison, 111 prisoners are thought to have been killed

According to several reports by the Ministry of Justice, a serious incident has taken place at Kadea Prison, some 24km south-west of Romulă, the prison which is located deep within the Apostle Mountains is used to house to violent criminals awaiting execution as well petty criminals, yet too dangerous to placed within a low security institution. The prison population is recorded at 18,543, with most cells containing six inmates, the prison has been slammed by human rights activitists as a 'vile medieval dungeon'. The incident in question began at around 8.33am as the prisoners meet to have breakfast, it is reported that a violent confrontation between a prisoner and a guard took place which dramatically escalated prompting a shutdown. Armed Guards were called in to deal with the violence, it is believed that 107 prisoners have been killed and 4 guards along with them, however the Ministry of Justice has refused to completely disclose details at this time.

The incident that has taken place this morning, is not only one of its kind in recent years. In 2010, 87 prisoners were shot dead by guards who fought to regain order and control over the Medgidia Prison, in 2011 32 prisoners were killed when a violent clash broke out between rival groups of prisoners, the guards managed to secure order without inflicting losses on the prison population, the group ringleaders were executed by firing squad later that evening as punishment. The worst disaster was in 1999, when over 3,000 prisoners died when a riot led to the entire facility be engulfed in flames, government policy at the time resigned them to their deaths because to take these men outside was against logic.

The fact that these events always end up in high death tolls is evidence to some groups that the Papal Republic's harsh justice system is overloading prisons and inviting major violent incidents like today's and past ones. However the Ministry of Justice blames the mentality of the criminals within the facilities for violent incidents. Others however have cited blatant and extensive abuses by the prison guards for the violent incidents, one facility, a Church run Correctional Facility for the Morally Corrupt was accussed of gross violations, following a leak that over 30 prisoners had died over a four month period. The leak was denounced as a 'vicious lie' and the leaker was charged for insulting the Mother Church.

According to reports from this morning, a prisoner and a guard exchanged words which then escalated to a violent assault on the guard, the prisoner responsible was taken away to placed in solitary confinement, prompting a violent response from the rest of the prisoners, they began to riot, seizing control of the cafeteria and then began to run amok throughout the entire facility, four guards were reportedly beaten to death during the rampage, the prison authority began a lockdown procedure, which shuts off the different wings from one another, denying the prisoners freedom of movement through the facility. The prison then requested further armed support from local police who arrived swiftly, they then proceeded to secure each wing, one at a time. It is during this move to reclaim control of the facility that 107 prisoners were killed. A vast majority of the prisoners returned to their cells without question or resistance, a small minority violently confronted the response force.

General Alexandru Cernat (MESC), the Minister of Justice did confirm that the facility was back under state control and stated that people had been killed in the prison riot and an investigation would be launched into the causes and events of the incident. The families of the dead criminals have been informed. Kadea Prison will recieve a higher number of guards over the next coming days and will also recieve improved security measures. Offical findings of the investigation will be published in three weeks time according to General Cernat.

Cardinal Radulescu: "make a stand in God's name"

Cardinal Emilian Radulescu, General Superior of the Orducii gave a strong speech today to over 4,000 Orducii commander, in which he called out to the Itailian Catholic population to make a stand against the Itailian Regime and to finally reach its purpose, to become the vanguard of Christendom’s defence. He also stated that it was the Papal Republic’s eternal duty to be the guardian of all Catholics in Pardes, as well as Protestants. His speech was well received by the Orducii commanders present at the Oravita Auditorium, where the Annual Orducii Conference takes place.

Cardinal Radulescu, one of the Holy Father’s most vocal and powerful allies and senior Cardinals, has been the leader of the Order of the Cross since 2008 and has been highly successful in reigning in the more extremist elements within the paramilitary organisation, he has also expanded the Orducii’s role in the form of charity and public works. He is highly popular within the paramilitary force and with Rodarians in general, he is highly anticipated to become the Pope in the future.

“In the beginning there was man and nature, then men came bearing the Cross. The men pushed the heathen to the fringes of the earth and God’s Kingdom was whole and existed in brilliant light. Then the Kingdom was betrayed by the ideals of the self, the ideas and theories of the Godless and the heathen returned from the fringes of the earth and reclaimed the world for his own” the Cardinal stated at the beginning.

“Christendom is besieged by the heathen and the apostate, the Lord is insulted daily by those who should be under his light, the faith is criticised by the godless and Christians are murdered for their very faith. The time has come for those of the faith to make a stand, those in Itailia already are and it is time for the Papal Republic to do so the same” he continued.

The insurgency currently taking place in the south of Itailia, mostly in Drakkar Province began several days after the Red Christmas Bombings that killed 500,000 Catholics and is generally recognised as a genocide by the Church State and Catholics around Pardes. The insurgency is being carried out by the Exercitus Christo (Army of Christ), a large and highly motivated group of Catholic men and women, who aim to make Drakkar an independent Catholic state. Last week, 15 Pagans were killed when a car bomb exploded outside a popular cafe, three Justicars were also killed that day in Nece, the birthplace and stronghold of the EC.

“The Exercitus is not popular with the Itailian Regime because there are 500,000 gravestones pointing up towards heaven, they speak to God and our fellow Christian, here lay the 500,000 murdered by the Pagan and their masters in Ebonaevron, the Itailian Regime knows it fights a righteous foe” the Cardinal said.

The 4,000 strong audience supported the Cardinal with deafening applause and cheers, the Orducii has been highly vocal regarding the insurgency in Drakkar, stating if it could, it would set ablaze the Pagan lands and place the cross of Christ upon the corpses of the Itailian Pagan elite. The Orducii hasn’t admitted or denied reports that they are in Drakkar, however the Ministry of Defence and Homeland Security has denied those reports.

“The war in Drakkar is the war of Christendom’s freedom, it shall either be its salvation or destruction. If Christendom fails in Drakkar, the heathen shall drive us to the fringes of God’s creation and that cannot happen ever. I say to the Catholics of Drakkar, make a stand, make a stand with prayer, make a stand with action and organisation, make a stand with your gun, bullets and bombs, make a stand in God’s name”.

The Cardinal’s speech was televised live to the entire country, to Catholic television and radio stations in Itailia and live to Pardes. What response the speech will receive from the Catholic population in Drakkar is to be seen, however recent comments made by senior Ecclesiastical Security Commission members and other Church State officials, do indicate a shift in policy regarding Itailia and a possible revaluation of the situation with regards to the Papal Republic’s position politically and diplomatically.

Baharaqi Anti-WMD Resolution Defeated: Tarsas Prepares Response

Resolution 0005 has officially been defeated in the OPA by failing to get the two thirds majority required. Outrage has broken out across the nation as people question why. "Why was this voted down?", asked a coffee shop visitor in one of our street interviews. "All of those barbaric countries to the south are dangerous states that need to be controlled by the civilised world. That same question is the question that burns on many of our minds today.

Why did this seemingly harmless resolution fail to pass? Our international politics expert Pontus Allius Carele has his own take on that question. "On one side, this was an excellent resolution denying a dangerous country access to highly destructive weaponry. On another hand, it was a clear sign of Western Federation control being exerted over the country. This resolution's proposed benefits for millions of innocent people were not considered by most of the power hungry megalomaniacs that run countries like Tehraan and Ulthranni."

Tarsas was one of the many that voted a loud "affirmative" for this resolution. Tarsan ambassador to the OPA, Lord Felra Caliphus Elas, released a statement upon word of the resolution failing. "Our attempt to protect millions of Tarsans, Ulthranni, and even others that live to the south has failed. Barbarians are continually allowed to acquire highly destructive weaponry simply because them doing so benefits countries like Tehraan, which are run by some of the most despicable people in this region. Our attempts to pass similar and future actions such as this will continue. Stand strong."

In light of the failing of Resolution 0005, the Defense Ministry has announced that Project Zealot will continue. Project Zealot was the development of highly deadly chemical weapons. The program started in 1949 and continued all the way to 1998 when it was ordered to halt in light of lessening international tensions. The program was responsible for highly deadly agents like Agent Red and Green Gas, both of which kill quickly and on contact. Repairs and upgrades to the Central Chemistry Laboratory, which has laid unused since the program's closure, have begun in earnest.

The Imperial Senate has confirmed that it did not vote on anything that gave the defense ministry authorisation to resume development. A Senatorial spokesperson for the Speaker of the Senate has said that the Senate did not vote on anything to discontinue the program when it was discontinued, however. That means that resuming the program is technically a legal act that does not require senatorial authorisation.

The Senatorial Spokesperson went on to announce a four billion harkan program entitled Project Astral had been passed. Project Astral will create an entirely new generation of missile interception systems. The current Kite Shield Missile Defense Network has been in place since 1986 when the cold war with Canhadast was at its height. The system has long since required a major upgrade. "With the looming thread of countries like Alabasta and Mardullah being able to access weapons of mass destruction without restraint, we have decided to take our defense to a whole new level."

The Defense Ministry praised the action with their own statement. "With the ample budget the Imperial Senate has so graciously approved us, we guarantee that the new missile defense system will be ready within a year." Most of the upgrades and components to build the system have already been employed in other sectors of the military, such as upgraded naval radars. The expertise gained developing these radars will make it easy to quickly develop new and powerful missile detection radars. The military is renting and purchasing plots of land across the nation to build new missile defense platforms.

The failure of Resolution 0005, prohibiting WMD possession and development in Baharaq to accumulate the necessary amount of votes was met with relief and jubilation by the HU embassasy to the Organization of Pardesian affairs. The resolution, aimed at keeping a non-OPA nation, the Republic of Baharaq from possessing weaponry the Western Confederacy deemed to threatening, received a level of disapproval by the central government and aligned states, as the resolution backed potential military invasion of the independent state as pre-emptive attack against a potential WMD strike against Talibastain and Western holding in the area. Something the central government had disputed and dismissed as either bogus paranoia or a weak excuse to justify an expansionistic agenda by the Western Confederal states in its efforts to claim Baharaqi oil resources, just as it has attempted in its invasion in the mid-80s.

Despite this small victory, the sentiment of jubilation was not shared by the whole of the central government. Military experts have pointed out, that the latest resolution shows a clear intent by the WCS and its supports to expand its influence by use of military force in Akkadiya, which in turn means that they cannot be an end to military preparations and withdrawal from Akkadiya by the Unified Armed Forces in Mardullah and Irkutia.

Supreme General Kayameg Itake, supreme commander of the UAF stated that; “We must remain at constant vigil and readiness until we can assure that stability and security is no longer threatened by the ambitions of the aggressor states. Until then we stay.”

Since the resolution was proposed, the military mandates have remained in effect. Several fleets of the Central Armada had dispatched multiple naval task forces to the Central Ocean, as well as keep their strike fleet at full readiness. Multiple divisions from Tehraani and Tehraan are moving towards allied nations in the region for potential combat operations in defence of the independent Baharaqi republic.

While glad that the resolution was struck down, High Chairman Nentayeg Daye explained that the OPA was founded not as a regional police force, but a platform for regional cooperation, discussion and conflict resolution. The increasing militancy by the several member states in using the OPA to push for agendas that only serve to impose their own interest on other nations, both member and non-member contradicts the entire purpose of the OPA. According to Nentayeg, it is paramount that this issues is rectified, or else the OPA will merely become a catalyst for more conflict as opposed to a means of conflict resolution. Ignoring the calls for dialogue on resolutions, especially ones that aim at starting a war, shows that the WCS and its allies have no interest in discussing real problems. Merely to find another way to justify their aggressive behaviour.

Despite oppision from a number of corporates and business men, following multiple debates, strikes and protest marches, supporting largely by low and middle-class labours finally prevailed in gathering enough support within the central government to pass a new series of laws that fully reform the aged HU tax system and labour laws. Instituting negative income tax and a decentralized minimum wage.

Main proponent, economist Mazadef Ayani proposed the negative income tax model based of similar foreign proposed models as alternative for current flat tax model of 20% income. This progressive tax model allows for each registered citizen above 18 years an annual allowance of sum that equals 110% of the poverty threshold in income adjusted each year for price and inflation, of which each citizen has 50% of taxable income subtracted. This model is intended to replace current models of welfare and other support measures that were deemed ineffective, unmanageable and underfunded. Already citizens have their bank account registered by the ministry of economics, who under the new laws project their monthly income into the overall annual income, based on that the correct amount is taxed by substracting 50% of their income from their annual allowance and the appropriate monthly sum taxed either by taken or granting the legal amount based on the citizens overall income. Alternatively those who are jobless and receive no salary into their accounts per month are granted the full allowance. The end result is that every citizen is in theory able to meet the minimum of live, which include house rent, electricity and costs in food and other neccesities, plus retain some degree of extra income for other matters. Next to that the amount people receive become progressive less and at times two of the threshold starts become the overal income tax people pay, however this also means that while the amount people are tax progressively increase with income people always earn more regardless. Mazadef Ayani believes that this model profides a much fairer tax system that both drives up government revenue but also limits burden on the small incomes, giving them overall more freedom and opportunities.

This combined with new minimum wage law that imposes a minimum wage set per separate member state is hoped to bring an overall greater level of income equality, something an increasing number of politicians and expert think possesses the greatest threat to growth of the HU economy, where the increasingly greater profits and stagnating incomes at the lowe level can lead to serious economic instability as the lack of circulation will lead of market bubbles and recessions that threaten to destroy the HU economy. These measures, combined with the increase of corporate taxes to 15% will according to many both balance the budget and greatly improve economic growth as social mobility is restored and improved as the much of the HU starts shifting towards more towards a service economy.

In addition to this, with recent experiment with referenda at a local level the new laws also expand the ability of the use of so-called ‘people’s concensus’ politics, where the referenda are given a greater range of options for decision making at a local level alongside regular state corporate and representative counsels, which should prove to provide greater involvement of people in mundane matters of politics while military and foreign policy remain firmly in the hands of the central government. Despite this the changes have been lauded by local leaders as an improvement of local politics, while at the top the added decentralization should help streamlining the bureaucracy that previously had to monitor local politics for party conformity.

Although these are suggest to be but a few on many potential reforms, the party remains at the position that they’ll limited the number of reforms at the time to keep the politics stable and progressive, hoping to gradually modernize the HU political system without excessively changing pre-set structure and thus preventing destabilization. Although opposition from more conservative member of the party is vocal, the more progressive sections of the party remain positive about their proposals. However time will tell whether these measures are as effective as they are stated to be.

Government warns Itailia over Drakkar crisis

The Papal Army has been stationed on the Itailian border since Christmas Day, the army also stated its readiness for any Itailian led escalation

The situation in Drakkar Province has escalated dramatically since the Red Christmas Bombings last year. Since the December 9th massacre of 500,000 Romulăn Catholics, the group known as Exercitus Christo (Army of Christ) has launched an insurgency against the Itailian Government, striking at government forces and Pagan communities, with the aim of making Drakkar an independent state. Since December, over 500 people have been killed in attacks and claches between the EC and the Itailian government, it has attacked key military installations and members of the security forces on the streets of key Drakkar cities and has also attacked key districts home to Pagan elitists that dominate life in Drakkar. Last night the Itailian Government severed all remaining ties with the Papal Republic and shut down the border, all Rodarian nationals in Itailia will be flown home.

The Deputy State President, General Atticus Flaverescu addressed the Itailian decision this morning, he also addressed the current situation in Drakkar which has left over 500 dead in two months. The Deputy State President also made it clear to the Itailian government and to it's CDI allies, that any 'gross violation of the freedoms of Romulăn Catholics in Drakkar will be met with appropriate force and action by the Papal Republic, the Itailian government was a key player in the 9th December massacre and now it wishes to carry on with its murderous campaign'.

The Foreign Ministry has announced that all Itailian assests and property within the Papal Republic will be ceased by the Interior Ministry and held within its control indefinitely, any Itailian that remains within the country after 24 hours will be arrested for being illegal immigrants, the government also announced a complete ban on all CDI memberstates' media outlets from operating within the Papal Republic, all CDI journalists are to be deported back to their home countries and their Worker Visas to be confiscated.

The Deputy State President demanded that the CDI and Itailia to have restraint over the growing violence in Nece, the EC has begun to attack the Itailian regime much more boldy over the past few days and many suspect a major confrontation within the city, which is the stronghold and birthplace of the organisation. General Flaverescu said, "The Papal Republic wishes to ask the Itailian government and its CDI allies to show restraint when dealing with the Exercitus Christo, any gross actions against them that inflicts serious loss of life upon the Romulăn Catholic population will not be accepted, we advise the Itailian government to cease its military actions and adhere to the requests of the province's Catholics, to let them be free, to let them be their own people and to let them be safe from the Pagan terrorists that you employ, I say again, any gross violation of the right to exist for the Romulăn Catholic population will not be accepted by the Papal Republic and action will be taken to protect them and to preserve their right to exist within God's kingdom".

Two nights ago, CDI aircraft attacked and destroyed a small convoy of vehicles crossing the border between Rodarion and Itailia, the resulting ambush from the air, killed 18 Nuns of the Sister Andreea Ciorban Covenant outside Draganesti-Nord. Their bodies have been returned to the Papal Republic for burial, the nation has been outraged over the blatant disregard for human life by the CDI. Anti-Itailian and Anti-CDI protests have continued for the 13th day, over 500,000 people attended a rally in Taereum this morning, in which over 500 Itailian, Arthuristan and Emmerian flags were burned. Effigies of Arthuristan Prime Minister Leanne Whittaker, Itailia's Caesar and Emmeria's President Hayes were also burned and torn apart by the furious masses.

"Since this government and all governments of the Papal Republic act under the guidance of the Guardianship of Christendom, it is our duty, as the Church State, as the Kingdom of the Lord to protect his followers, regardless of age, race or class. Since the Itailian government is hellbent on annihilating all those who pray to Christ, it is therefore our solem duty as the defenders of Christ's Kingdom to protect those threatened and abused by oppressive, sectarian governments. I would advise the Central Defence Initiative and the Itailian Government to reconsider its aggressive ventures towards Drakkar, for its own benefit. And since the CDI is the master of self interest led actions, it may well take this advice given".

The Papal Army spokesman has stated that the armed force as well as the others, stand ready to meet any escalation led by the Itailian government and its brutal oppressive forces. The Papal Army has already been deployed along the border since December, an estimated 28 divisions are within 40km of the border or less according to some rumours, however the Papal Army has refused to comment on the matter. However eyewitness reports from across the country have confirmed hightened activity around military facilities, especially in the central highlands region and to the north of the country, however this cannot be verified as a legitimate signal of a possible confrontation between the Papal Armed Forces and the band of murderers that is the Itailian Armed Forces.

Oured, D.A., UNITED REPUBLIC (UP) — Over 900,000 people gathered around the United Republic Capitol on Monday January 20 to witness the inauguration of president-elect Alex Vaziri, who won the U.R. presidential elections last November.

In his speech, Vaziri, former governor of the state of Frentia, focused on the reduction of the federal government's domestic authority in favor of economic privatization and deregulation as well as the relegation of several powers to states, calling these measures a "return to our historic traditions". In terms of foreign policy, Vaziri expressed interest in establishing partnerships to boost UR economic, security, and political interests across the region and globe. While his economic and foreign policy are supported by a majority of his Federalist party, his social policies have been criticized by numerous conservatives nationally while gaining applause from liberal progressives.

"Let us never forget we are the heirs of that revolution—the belief that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state, but from the hand of God. Today, the torch passes to a new generation of Emmerians: tempered by war, disciplined by a hard and bitter peace, proud of our ancient heritage, and unwilling to witness or permit the slow undoing of those human rights to which this Republic has always been committed, and to which we remain committed today at home and around the world.

"From the day on which these rights become compromised, only then shall we date the ruin of our great country. The warm sunshine of influence would melt down the virtue which the violence of the storm rendered more firm and unyielding. In a state of tranquility, wealth, and luxury, our descendants would forget the arts of war and the noble activity and zeal which made their ancestors invincible. Let all our neighbors and friends know that we shall join with them to oppose aggression or subversion anywhere on this continent, anywhere in this region, anywhere in the world."

Vaziri administration inherits difficult agenda

Domestically, President Vaziri has a lot to address. From calls for gun control to an aging healthcare infrastructure to constantly rising debt, it is safe to say President Vaziri's schedule will be booked.

With Hayes' failure to fully implement a universal healthcare system in his first term (more or less a continuation of the Castilla administration), it will be interesting to note how the Castilla healthcare plan will transition into the streamlined state-centric Vaziricare program. President Vaziri indicated during his campaign last year that his vision would involve an increased role of the private sector and lower overall taxes.

President Hayes left an entire meal on Vaziri's plate for foreign policy. As tensions between Rodarion and Itailia escalate, security on the western continent has not been at such high risk in decades. The threat of conflicts lulls over the middle east and Seukutan as well, adding more complexity to Vaziri's job. In the extra-regional arena, traditional U.R. ally Eagleland has declared war on Titianicia in Sondria, stirring a powder keg in that region.

These developments will prove a major, early test for the Vaziri administration.

War Ministry: 5th Fleet Base's Barracks Expansion in Itailia Now Holds 20,000 Troops

EBONAERVON, Empire of Italia — The Imperial War Ministry announced today that a three-month expansion of the barracks component of the Fort Vernsky Naval Base, home of the Imperial Navy's 5th Fleet, on the western shore of the Itailian home islands, is now complete. The base's security went from a regiment of Imperial Marines to hold over 20,000 troops, ferried over as sections of the barracks expansion were completed.

The project was launched in early December after the coup d'etat in Rodarion to beef up force projection in a key Northwest Pardesi ally. Between December 12th, 2013 and finishing today, the naval base saw frenzied construction as new, prefabricated barrack structures were erected on vacant space in within the base's perimeter. Starting around December 24th, regiment-sized units of Marines and Imperial Army troops were being shipped over every week. Today marks the last unit to arrive - the 12th Imperial Marine Regiment.

Activities at the base have been chaotic as commanders established logistical procedures to accommodate the small army of 20,000 additional Marines and Army soldiers deployed to the base. The Army units are confirmed to be a mix of light infantry and mechanized forces, in addition to several artillery and light armored units consisting of primarily Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs).

The War and Foreign Ministries released a joint press release calling the base expansion and deployment of combat ground troops "needed for stability in the Empire of Itailia, which is undergoing severe civil disorder and escalation of border tensions with the Papal Republic [of Rodarion]." Both ministries declined further inquiries for comment on the move.

Public Supports Itailia In Ongoing Rodar-Itailian Tensions

A Callas College Surveys, Inc., poll out on Friday showed that a strong 71% of Belhavians back supporting the Twin Amanitte Empire versus 23% that support Rodarion. A mere 6% reported to be undecided or indifferent.

"This isn't terribly surprising," Callas College Surveys executive director David Levan noted in a press release, "Itailia has long been a key ally of the Empire's, and our two countries have close cultural, economic, and political ties. The southeastern shores of Itailia are a favorite vacation spot for Belhavian tourists, and many Itailians visit Belhavia for its bustling northern cities and expeditions to the polar south.

"Rodarion has some support among New Belhavia's small Catholic populations," he added, "though recent anti-Semitic rhetoric out of Romula has alienated its support in the Empire, even among the Catholic community, who despise anti-Semitism as much as their majority Jewish neighbors do."

Force Projection Strategy "Makes Sense," Military Experts Agree

"If things go south in Itailia between these Catholic insurgents [around Drakkar] and Itailian authorities, or if Rodarion follows through on its pointed threats and invades Itailia, having two divisions' worth of ground troops nearby is a smart move," retired Army four-star general and former Freeport Military Academy small-arms tactics instructor Benjamin Adin opined over a phone interview. "I would have liked to see more armor and air power, but its a decent start if hostilities erupt into a full-on war or if the insurgency grows deeper into Itailia."

A War Ministry official close to the base expansion plans who asked to speak anonymously agreed with Adin's remarks. "He hit the nail on the head, as they say." The official elaborated. "The Imperial military command is keeping a close eye on that part of the Western Continent. If our allies in Ebonaervon need us, we have a 'down payment' worth of ground forces and warships on-site to provide support to our Itailian allies."

Highgate, Orlessia - In a stunning turn of events, following a emergency closed doors session of both houses of Parliament, Prime Minister North announces a stunning new policy in light of the tensions across the Sea on the main continent.

Following the late afternoon announcement from the Papal Republic about a new Air Defense Identification Zone, which curiously intrudes on Orlessian maritime borders by at least five miles, the Prime Minister called for a sudden emergency session of Parliament which is still in recess for the winter break and not due to reconvene until the middle of the month. The session lasted until about nine o clock in the evening local time before the Speaker of the Commons made a brief announcement that the Prime Minister would be addressing the press in an hour outside his office at 10 Lionsgate.

The Prime Minister looked incredibly solemn as he read the following statement just outside the gated entrance to his office, members of his Cabinet and fellow MP's standing at this sides " My fellow Orlessians, it is with a heavy heart, but a strong spirit that I come to you today. Our friends and fellow brothers and sisters under God across the pond, the Papal Republic, have continued in their ways of agression against the Empire of Itailia and have plunged that whole continent into chaos, and now they seek to do the same to our Kingdom, announcing a highly offensive new air defense identification zone, which not only completely destroys the freedom of travel and movement in the Sea of Orlessia, but also intrudes on our maritime borders by approximately seven miles.

I say this to you now, we have no stake in this war they are brewing on the continent, and I have no intentions of getting involved in it, nor will I allow any state, Rodarion or not, to misuse our lands for war time actions. Therefore, effective immediately and with the full support of Parliament and His Majesty, I am announcing a policy of neutrality towards any acts of aggression on the continent. Orlesssia will not commit herself military, financially or politically to the conflicts and all sovereign Orlessian soil will not be used for defensive or offensive actions. To enforce this effect, I have ordered the full deployment of the Royal Navy who will immediately begin patrolling our legally recognized maritime borders to ensure the freedom of movement and travel and any actions taken to obstruct them will be met and responded to with full force. Additionally, His Majesty's 6th Regiment of Foot has been deployed to the Rodarion joint forces base and other foreign military bases to ensure that they are not used for any military actions. If they are, they will be responded to with the full weight of the Kingdom. Many will view this as an act of agression, but I say nay to them, we are simply ensuring we are not pulled into a war we do not wish; and I warn you all; do not test us.

(CCN) - The days of civil war are in the past but what does the new generation, exposed to mass media and technological advances, think of the ideology? "We all know these are the children of a generation that was raised with the notion 'Citizenism is bad'." Says Abdul Hamdani, an Akebadi-born Westerner, who immigrated to the State of Viridia at the age of 17. Now, almost 40 years later, he is a professor at the Franklin University and author of the book "Citizenism, convenience or inconvenience?". The question, for everyone believed to be one of the most sensitive, "is not so sensitive anymore." Claims Hamdani. Many scholars and analysts believe that Citizenism, especially amongst the youth and in the working class, is on the rise. Compared to 20 years ago, "where Citizenism was unheard of".

Citizenism is defined as a populist ideology advocating social-libertarianism and minarchist rule while eliminating elements of authoritarianism. “This, aside from the latter, had nothing to do with the CRW [Citizenist Republic of the West] regime. The CRW was de facto based on an authoritarian system itself so in essence it was utmost counterproductive.” Hamdani states in his book that people have made the distinction between the CRW (which lasted from 1900-1945) and the ideology written down in Marcus Yohannes’ Civium Credutalis, that is Citizenism. Citizenism, like communism is outlawed in the states, "but that doesn’t mean the mindset is gone".

According to DWIA at least 30 million non-combatants were killed directly or indirectly by the hands of the CRW over a 50-year period. This was due to the Loyalty Classification Act in 1905 that marked “undesirables” as inferior and started a nationwide prosecution of said ‘undesirables’. A majority of which were people designated by the CSA (Citizens' Security Agency) and later sent to extermination camps. “This clashes with the original concept ‘undesirables’ in Yohannes’ book which elaborates that undesirables are people of the aristocratic and bureaucratic elite and that they should be avoided, yet it never endorsed a systematic eradication of the social elites, leave alone 30 million people of different social backgrounds. People have come to realize this.”

A majority of secondary school pupils have gotten into the theory. Despite the teachings that de facto criticize the ideology, a controversial survey of SchoolMe held in a variety of high schools in the State of Kensington indicated a majority (37%) still being in favour of the original concept of Citizenism. Followed by Social Liberalism (33%) and Neo-Liberalism (19%). Hamdani explains; “People are nowadays continually pressured by domestic demagogues giving people the vibe that everything apart from democracy is wrong. It’s simply a populist tactic. And In reality this is not the case. However younger people, especially in the lower class, are the more vulnerable to these exploitations."

Juvenile-delinquency and economic inequality are likewise on the rise in the Confederal States. Not to speak of the unemployment in the states. Unemployment rate as of the Liberty Sq. Crash was the highest since 1922, this month's change in non-farm payrolls are likewise "not giving a bright picture", says economist Gordon Lumbeck. Prisoners play a major role. “Every prison in the Confederal States is divided between gangs, you got the Neo-JttGC, Black-Power separatists, Zionist radicals and finally neo-Citizenists. The neo-Citizenists are on the rise, and that goes without much hesitation as far as the inmates are concerned, seeing as other groups are flared with racism and bigotry. This picture starts to resemble the same outside of Western prisons." Is Citizenism nowadays convenient or inconvenient? You decide.

High Admiral Steingrímur stressed that it was indeed a part of the Estovakivan Federation`s snap-drills as to test large parts of its military-machine and that similar exercises will happen quite often in the following years, including live-fire exercises by the Federation navy as well as many arms within the Federation Armed Forces.

"Indeed, such exercises will be quite frequent from now on as we seek to increase the combat ability and response time of our Naval-forces as well as long-range strategic maritime aviation in the event that we must take action to defend our sacred homeland and if we see bad results we will continue to improve until such errors has been removed or been dealt with”

It is reported that the combined arms exercise will consist of several-naval groups such as carrier task-groups and of course submarines, supported by the long-range maritime aviation, from bases located at the Velesiya-island chain and from Estovakiva itself.

High Admiral Steingrímur when asked about the rumors regarding Estovakivan Aircrafts being now allowed to land and refuel at the Belfrasian island Laesico he could only smile as he replied “the Belfrasians has humbly accepted our request to use the airbases at Laescio for refueling purposes only, something which we are indeed quite gratuitous for and we do certainly this will seek to improve the relations between Estovakiva and Belfras even further in the future”

This means Long Range Maritime Aviation as well as standard Naval aviation and units of the Estovakivan Federation Navy such as elements of Warfleet Jörmungandr being deployed to northeren Pardesian waters which deploys several dozen of ships and submarine along with assosciated escorts to be used in perhaps one of the largest exsersices announced so far.

Highgate, Orlessia - In yet another yet interesting bulletin from the Royal Navy's Admiralty, which issued dozens of press releases over the last four and five days since the announcement of the Policy of Neutrality, the Royal Navy announced the deployment of the 5th Battle Group, the largest battle group in the Navy, to international waters in the Sea of Orlessia, waters that are also claimed in the latest Rodarion ADIZ, which Prime Minister North indirectly lambasted earlier in the week.

The deployment of the 5th Battle Group is interesting because it is the largest Battle Group in the entire Navy; formed in 2005, it consists of a single Dreadnought as the flagship, the H.M.S. Othyrs a Oerico-class dreadnought, and is accompanied by no less then four Gallecia-class battleships, H.M.S. Gallecia among them, five Lord-class Heavy Guided Missile Cruisers and seven Vickers-class Guided Missile Destroyer. There is also rumored to be no less then four Sterling-class Strategic Ballistic Missile Submarines with the Battle Group, but the Admiralty refuses to confirm. There is also the H.M.S. Langely, an Emmerian carrier purchased three years ago, which was attached to the Battle Group with it's escort of three Lord-class Heavy Cruisers. Reportedly, the Battle Group will be performing aerial and naval exercises designed to test their combat readiness and it's already been indirectly mentioned that the Group, under the command of Rear Admiral Lily, will not respect the guidelines of the new Rodarion ADIZ.

In addition to the announcement of BG 5's deployment, the Royal Navy also confirmed that the Navy is almost completed the full mobilization order issued by the Prime Minister on Monday, with the only remaining ships waiting to be mobilized is the H.M.S. Draconia, an older Yorktown-class battleship, which was placed in reserve five years ago, along with a number of older cruisers and other smaller escorts. H.M.S. Glory and Ardent, two other Emmerian carriers, were also recently activated this week and are expected to complete sea trials by Valentine's Day.

ANTIYTIA, Anikatia — Niklas Bykov has defended Anikatia’s arms sale of high tech fighter aircraft to Papal Republic of Rodarion. The sale comes at an unusual time as regional tensions have risen to an all time high as Rodarion government has just announced a Air Defence Identification Zone that extends into the sovereign territory Orlessia.

On Thursday, the Anikatian president told a news conference that Anikatia did not want to upset the military balance within the region, but stated firmly that all arms sales were in line with international law. "What we've supplied to other countries in the region, won't affect the balance of power in the region," Bykov said at a news conference.

Bykov of the Anikatian United party has been pushing the nation towards a more deregulated free market economy. He has played down any political motives for the sale stating “it’s just good business.” However the opposition parties have claim the deal is politically motivated as part of a move for closer ties with the Papal Republic.

The deal consisting of advanced variants of the Ay-05 fighter aircraft. Which are expected to be on their way according to a military source, however Anikatian foreign ministry has been reluctant to discuss the precise details or time frame for the deliveries. The deputy foreign minister, Iva Lagueux cited commercial confidentiality. But stated "All the agreements between Anikatia and Rodarion over arms supply are underway."

If these reports are accurate it is expected the aircraft could already flying within the Papal Republic’s controversial Air Defence Identification Zone. According to Isaac Yevseyev the Chief Executive Officer of ANIKTEC the state run arms supplier, the deal over $10 billion worth of arms. Yevseyev was clear to state that all sales conducted by the corporation were inline with with all domestic and international laws.

Yevseyev said a $830 million arms contract Anikatia signed with United Republic of Emmeria remains intact despite the diplomatic war CDI member Emmeria and Rodarion were involved in last year, when a suspected Emmerian spy drone was shot down in Rodarion territory.
